A man who banned his brother from attending his wedding is standing firm on the decision after he faced a backlash from his angry family.
The 28 year old is set to marry his partner later this month, and among the guests invited were his brother and his girlfriend, who had confirmed they would be attending.
In the build up to the big day, his brother messaged with a picture of him holding an engagement ring with the message 'soon'
He was so excited to receive the news that his sibling was finally going to pop the question and he asked when he planned on getting down on one knee.
His brother replied to say: "I'll probably do it at your wedding."
Shocked by the news, and thinking it was common knowledge not to propose or announce pregnancies at someone else's wedding, he hoped his brother was winding him up.
"I asked him if he was joking and he said no," he wrote on Reddit. "I told him that he should definitely not do it, as it would be seen as disrespectful to me and my soon-to-be wife. He told me that it 'seems like a good time' because they would be together with the rest of his family.
"I was worried at this point, so I warned him that if he kept saying that he would propose AT MY WEDDING, then I would have to uninvite both him and his girlfriend. He said that that was extremely rude.
"I responded that I will allow him to go if he promised not to propose.
"That should've been the end of it, but he kept insisting that it would be a good time to propose. I called him and told him that I would seriously uninvite him and take him off the list.
"He said 'OK fine' while sighing. I asked him not to bring the engagement ring to the wedding. He said that he would bring it "just in case."
"When I woke up the next morning, I contacted my wedding venue and asked them to take my brother's name, along with his girlfriend, off of the list of their table."
After breaking the news, his parents rang to tell him they were disappointed and demanded that his brother was re-invited to the celebration.
The soon-to-be newlyweds have stood firm, worried about what his brother may do, and he asked for advice as to whether he had done the right thing.
The replies all stuck up for his stance, as one wrote: "Did you tell your parents the reason for uninviting him? That he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend at your wedding? You’ve told him it’s not okay. And to do so after that would be extremely rude and narcissistic.
"There is every chance his girlfriend would be mortified by a proposal at someone else’s wedding. Also, public proposals aren’t always such a good thing if you have zero awareness of the feelings of other people."
A second added: "This infuriates me. He wants to mooch off the atmosphere YOU PAID FOR to give his girlfriend a romantic proposal because he's lazy and can't be bothered to arrange it all himself. You did the right thing."
Another simple asked: "I wonder what he’d tell the girlfriend if she asks why they were uninvited bahaha."
Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper risked an awkward run-in last night as they attended the same BAFTA afterparty.
The former Hollywood couple, who split eight months ago, were both seen at the Vogue x Tiffany & Co bash, although they arrived separately.
Last year, the pair attended the star-studded ceremony together, but this time around things were different.
Irina and Bradley are likely to have crossed paths at Sunday's event, which was held at lavish private club Annabel's in Mayfair.
Russian supermodel Irina, 34, looked sophisticated and every inch the fashion icon as she paraded her figure around in a mesh jewelled dress - leaving little to the imagination.
Irina oozed glamour as she posed for several pictures throughout the boozy night.
Meanwhile Bradley looked very handsome in a smart tuxedo paired with an oversized bow tie at the awards ceremony.
While the pair didn't pose for any photos together during the party, they have been on good terms since their split last June.
Irina and Brad, who spent four years together, co-parent their two-year-old daughter Lea in New York.

Luck, however, ran out for the kidnappers when eyewitnesses and communities along the expressway made distress calls to the FCT Police Command.
Consequently, operatives from FCT Command comprising anti-kidnapping Patrol teams and counter-terror units were dispatched to the scene and they subsequently engaged the kidnappers in a shootout, rescuing some of the passengers in the process.

Three more cases of the Wuhan coronavirus have been reported in California, bringing the state's total to six and the country's total to 11 cases.
Late Sunday, officials confirmed a San Benito County man who had recently traveled back from Wuhan, China, and his wife have the virus. Both were isolating themselves in their home.
The man arrived at San Francisco International Airport on January 24 and was screened and found to be healthy and asymptomatic, said Dr. Martin Fenstersheib, the county's interim health officer.
The next day, the man developed symptoms including a cough and low-grade fever, Fenstersheib said. A few days later, his wife began showing symptoms as well.
The couple has stayed at home since the man's arrival, Fenstersheib said.
Also Sunday, officials confirmed a woman who recently traveled from Wuhan to Santa Clara County also was found to have the virus. She's the second case in the county -- though officials said the cases are unrelated.

Disturbing footage shows a cotton bud being removed from a patient’s ear after becoming lodged for several days.
Neel Raithatha, who runs a private audiology clinic in Leicestershire, captured the revolting moment he removed the object.
The unnamed patient was struggling to hear properly and was suffering from an earache before seeking medical help.
Mr Raithatha discovered the wool had detached from the stick upon removing it from their ear, thought to be behind their symptoms.
Commenting on the bizarre case, Mr Raithatha said: 'The client attempted to self-clean their ear using a cotton bud.
'They felt they were not hearing too well and believed the cause to be impacted earwax.
'This is not recommended as the cotton bud, itself, can further push in and impact any earwax present.
It admitted there is a ‘lack of evidence’ on the risks associated with using cotton buds but that they present a ‘potential hazard’ when used by patients to remove wax themselves.
Katherine Harrop-Griffiths, consultant in audiovestibular medicine and chairman of the guideline committee, said: ‘The general advice given is not to insert anything into the ear canal as it is self-cleaning.
'The only cleaning needed is to gently wipe the conch of the external ear with a damp flannel over a finger.
‘Ear irrigation is an effective method of removing earwax.'
A doctor who chillingly predicted the coronavirus infection days before the epidemic hit was arrested in a nighttime raid on his home.
Doctor Li Wenliang, who worked at a hospital in Wuhan, sent a message to a group chat of medical students saying "Quarantined in the emergency department" - at the point when just seven patients were confirmed as infected.
One member of the group chat replied saying "So frightening" before asking if it could become as serious as the SARS epidemic that began in China and killed 800 people.
Three days later, Dr Wenliang was arrested in the middle of the night after police turned up at his home.
He was allegedly then made to sign a statement saying his actions were classed as "illegal behaviour", reports The New York Times.
The Chinese government has been criticised for attempting to suppress news of viral outbreak.
The coronavirus death toll in mainland China has overtaken the SARS epidemic of 2003 while a new 1,000-bed hospital to help tackle the outbreak has been built in just eight days.
Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan, where the virus originated, is one of two dedicated facilities being constructed with 361 deaths now confirmed since the outbreak started in December.
Patients will begin to be admitted from later today, according to reports.
A public servant, on Monday, prayed a Customary Court in Nyanya, Abuja for the dissolution of his marriage to his wife on grounds that he has not had a single day of peace in seven years.
The petitioner Mr. Ekene Odinaka, who resides in Jikwoyi, made the allegation while testifying against his wife Chioma in a divorce petition he filed against her.
“I am exhausted in this marriage. Since I married my wife, I have not known peace. She is always fighting me. The worst of it all is that she pours water on me to disturb my sleep. She goes around castigating me. She tells everyone who cares to listen to her that I am a bad man. This has greatly tarnished my image, ” he alleged.
He told the court that he would give N10,000 monthly for the upkeep of their baby and also get his wife a job so that she will have enough money to carter for their baby.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday, said the federal government does not have the jurisdiction to intervene in the recent ban of okada and tricycles in some parts of Lagos State.
The Lagos state government started to implement a ban on motorcycles, popularly known as okadas, and tricycles in major parts of the state on Saturday.
But the Minister, who was a guest on Sunrise Daily, said the matter was a state affair.
“Implementation of transport policy is essentially a state affair,” he said. “So you can’t be telling a state whether they want ‘okada’ or tricycles or not. That’s not our responsibility. It is for the state government to decide what to do.”
However, Amaechi, who is a former Governor of Rivers State, said he could see some reason why the state government made the decision.
“Speaking as a former Governor, when I was in Rivers State, they were using motorcycles to rob and kidnap people; and the police could never get them because they were using cars; so I banned motorcycles and we had peace. The number of accidents was also high – the orthopaedic hospital was full every day.
“I don’t know the reason why the Governor of Lagos state banned it; only he can tell you. I am sure he made his decision based on the interests of a majority of Lagosians.
“But he has a problem to face, which is unemployment and increase in crime.”
"Let's show the world what two little Latin girls can do," Jennifer Lopez told Shakira, shortly before playing the Super Bowl Half Time Show in Miami.
In the event, the duo showed they could sing, belly dance, crowd surf, knee slide, pole dance and even play drums.
It was a kinetic and sometimes dizzying set, as the Latin singers raced through 20 songs in just 12 minutes.
And after two years of under-cooked half time shows, their vibrant, kitsch spectacle was a breath of fresh air.
Unlike Justin Timberlake in 2018 and Maroon 5 last year, the two performers thrashed out a focused and upbeat set-list that concentrated on their biggest hits, offset by breath-taking choreography and fistfuls of Vegas glitter.
They mostly heeded Lady Gaga's warning that "I better hear no lip-syncing" at the Super Bowl, proving themselves to be accomplished live vocalists even while spinning around the stage like marionettes.
"Hola Miami!" shouted Shakira, opening the show with the disco strut of She Wolf before segueing to the grungy rock of Empire, and throwing in a few bars of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir as she wigged out on a black sequinned guitar.
She brought out Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny to duet on a cover of Cardi B's I Like It, and wrapped up six minutes later with her biggest hit, Hips Don't Lie, while being carried across the audience on her back.
Throughout her segment, the Colombian singer, who was celebrating her 43rd birthday, looked like she was having an absolute blast.
At one point, she leaned into the TV cameras, waggled her tongue and trilled. Although some viewers made fun, others pointed out the singer, whose father is Lebanese, was performing a traditional Arabic vocal celebration known as the zaghrouta.
The BAFTAs saw some of the most well-known faces in the industry flock to the Royal Albert Hall as they celebrated the best of film in the last year. There was even royalty in attendance as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were notably in the audience. However, the couple were forced to laugh off a joke from Brad Pitt’s acceptance speech.
Brad Pitt was awarded Best Actor tonight but unfortunately was unable to attend the prestigious ceremony.
He wasn’t at the awards tonight due to “family obligations” but still drew the attention of the guests after his speech took aim at various attendees.
In his place to accept the gong was Margot Robbie, who starred alongside him in Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood as Sharon Tate.
However, even despite his absence, the critically-acclaimed actor managed to stir things up for those in attendance.
During the speech, he seemed to make reference to his romantic links to Jennifer Aniston as well as Brexit.
Another thing that raised eyebrows in the speech was a reference to Prince Harry.
Margot told the audience Brad had special plans for his award as he made an obvious reference to the royal family.
“He says he is going to name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him. His words not mine."
Viewers at home couldn’t help but comment on the awkward moment as the camera panned to the royal couple.
One wrote: “Loved that zoom into Kate and Will after the Harry joke. #banter #BAFTAs.”
Another echoed: “Okay props to the BBC for cutting to William and Kate after the “Harry” joke #BAFTAs.”
“Kate laughing her head off at that Harry joke #BAFTAs,” commented a third.
A fourth said: “Performance of the night, William and Kate pretending to laugh at Brad Pitt’s joke #baftas.”
"Loved Will and Kate's reaction to Brad Pitt's joke about Harry there! #BAFTAs."
Brad Pitt won a BAFTA and said he's naming it Harry because he's excited to take it to the US #BAFTAs.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the move to Canada last month after taking a step back from royal duties.
