Faces Of Cultists Who Allegedly Kill A Man In Presence Of His Pregnant Wife

Two suspected cultists have been arrested by the police in Ogun for allegedly killing a member of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) identified as Kolawole Ajomale.

The suspects, Korede Pariosho and Jide Afolabi, were arrested on Wednesday by detectives from Ijebu-Igbo division following complaints against them.

The police said the suspects allegedly murdered the deceased in the presence of his pregnant wife and then went into hiding.

It was gathered that the suspects allegedly shot the deceased on the head and stomach on Sunday April 5, at his 20, Odo Balogun Street Oke Sapen residence, where they attacked him.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led his men to the hideout where the suspects were apprehended.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said that the suspects claimed to have killed the deceased to retaliate the murder of one of their members killed by OPC in 2017.

“On interrogation, the two suspects confessed killing the deceased but they claimed to have done it in revenge of the death of one member of their cult group whom they alleged was killed by OPC men in 2017. They further confessed to have vowed since then that any member of OPC seen will be killed in vengeance of the death of their late colleague.

"The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.” Oyeyemi added.

REVEALED! Most Coronavirus Patients Recover Without Drugs

Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu has disclosed that 90 percent of Coronavirus patients recover without intervention.

The NCDC DG disclosed this while commenting on how Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State recovered in less than one week after testing positive for the virus.

Ihekweazu said; “We should remember that 90 per cent of these patients recover without any intervention. So, if you take something and say you recovered and that something is why you recovered, it doesn’t quite add up. So, hopefully, there will be some treatment emerging over the next few years but remember that people recover from many viruses; that’s the way it happens.

“There are very few viruses with a cure. Even the ones that have a bad outcome like lassa fever – 20 percent of patients die from it – it still means that 80 percent of patients will recover without any treatment per se. What happens is that the body is supported to recover on its own.

So you go to a hospital and for COVID-19, you’re given oxygen. Oxygen is not really a treatment; it’s to keep you alive for long enough for you to recover yourself.”

Presidency Slams Gbajabiamila & Lawan: Your Take On Money We Send To Nigerians Is Dangerous

Maryam Uwais, special adviser to the President on social investment programme (SIP), has fired back at the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and speaker of the house of reps, Femi Gbajabiamila over their comment about the Social Investment Programme.

Recall that the National Assembly leaders had described the N2tr Social Investment Programme as a failure, and also faulted the manner in which the "conditional cash transfer" scheme was implemented during the 14-day lockdown ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Uwais however described Lawan and Gbajabiamila's comment as "false and dangerous."

She described Lawan's comment of beneficiaries being forced to present BVNs as true.

The statement reads in part;
“That as part of the conditions for poor and vulnerable beneficiaries to be engaged, they are made to apply online, through the internet and they require a BVN for payment. UNTRUE.

“The utilization of the BVN for N-Power beneficiary payment is also as a means of identity (since the NIN number can be generated from the BVN) and to facilitate the tracking of payments and further ensure accountability.

“The identities of the cash transfer beneficiaries are protected by law (the FOI Act), as the consent of recipients of social grants is a prerequisite, before disclosure. They can, however, be found and verified through the LGA community facilitators (CTFs) who have been trained to support them by weekly visits to the wards.

“The names, wards, LGAs, States and phone numbers of the CTFs can be found at https://ift.tt/2JPSJ3d, as the data collation continues to grow around the country.

“The Leadership of the Senate also stated that the NSIP information was not accessible to the National Assembly. UNTRUE.

“The monthly reports of 3,000 N-Power monitors, spread across the 774 LGAs, are available to both Poverty Alleviation Committees of the NASS. It should also be noted that the accounting and procurement aspects of the NSIPs were handled by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning on behalf of the NSIO, and not the OVP.

“It was further asserted, apparently, that because the beneficiaries are not known personally to the NASS members, the National Social Register is a ‘scam’ and needs to be reformed through a process that is ‘more inclusive’ of the NASS. REGRETTABLE & DANGEROUS.”

Chinese Doctors Can’t Attend To Our Patients – Nigerian Doctors Insist

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) have announced that they won't be allowing the Chinese doctors who just arrived the country to help in the fight against Coronavirus, to touch any of their patients.

According to the associations, it will be unethical and illegal to allow the 15-man Chinese medical team who have specialties in infectious disease, respiratory illness, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, general surgery and anesthesiology to touch or attend to any Nigerian patients.

President of NMA, Dr. Francis Faduyile told The Nation:
“Our stand has not changed and we still insist that there is nothing that they (Chinese) want to offer that can improve what we have on ground.

“There are so many things that we need to put into consideration because it is a war affecting ordinary Nigerians, and sometimes you look at the risk and benefits.

"Our members will look at what is on ground; if we are doing what we are doing and they (Chinese) do not interfere with us, we will continue doing what we are doing for Nigerians.

“We cannot now precipitously make a decision. We are an Association that is bounded by ethics, and rules. In a very short while, you will hear our decision”

President of NARD Dr. Sokomba Aliyu also said:
“The representatives of the government had stated some days back that the Chinese experts are coming to donate some personal protective equipment – ventilators etc. for us. We do not have anything against people coming to make donations. They also stated that they are coming to install those ventilators they brought with them, which again we do not have problems with.

“But we have categorically stated that the Chinese can’t attend to any Nigerian for whatever reason because this is unethical and illegal. The Chinese do not have the license to practice in Nigeria. And we do not need their hands as we are not overwhelmed and can take care of our patients."

Wike Fires Back; Declares Carveton Helicopter Persona Non Grata, Slams Aviation Minister

For endangering the lives of Rivers people by its suspicious operations, the Rivers State Government has declared Carveton Helicopters, Persona Non Grata in the state.

In a State Broadcast on Wednesday, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike directed Local Government Council Chairmen to close the Offices of Carveton Helicopters across the state.

He said: "We appreciate the need to protect business interests andoperations in the State and we will do whatever that is required to ensure that no business is unduly affected by the measures we have taken to combat the Coronavirus.

"However, we shall not welcome businesses or companies that value their business activities or profit more than or in clear disregard of the lives and health of our people.

"By its actions Calverton Helicopters have clearly shown that Rivers lives do not matter to it. It is an enemy of Rivers people and is hereby declared persona non grata in Rivers State.

"With this declaration Calverton Helicopters can only chose to operate in any part of Rivers State at its own risk as Local Government Chairmen have been directed to close their offices and prevent their operations."

Governor Wike said that the highly insensitive and provocative actions of Calverton Helicopters took place in the midst of credible intelligence reports about plans by enemies of the state to traffic carriers of the dreaded Coronavirus into the State.

He said: "Their morbid intention is to create panic by pushing up the infection rate and rubbish the robust measures we have since put in place to cut off the spread of the virus and keep our State and our citizens safe and secure from the ravaging pandemic.

"As expected, and required by our laws, the crew and the passengers on board that ill-fated helicopter were promptly arrested by the law enforcement personnel and are being prosecuted before our courts in line with our COVID 19 Declarations and Containment Orders.

"Calverton Helicopters claimed to have gotten permits from some federal agencies to fly passengers into the State, which never bordered to take the State Government into confidence in issuing such permits in violation of our laws and containment orders.

"While federal agencies reserve the right to issue flight permits to airline operators to fly into Rivers State, we insist that the State Government must equally be informed and taken intoconfidence in the process.

"This is the only way to avoid suspicion, conflicts of interests and unnecessary bickering between the State and Federal Governments in our collective efforts to combat the spread of COVID 19 in the country."

Governor Wike added: "Let me reiterate that for us, COVID 19 in Rivers State is a matter of life and death, and we will never succumb to any blackmail from any person, institution or authority in our determination to protect our citizens and our State from the spread of this deadly virus.

"Since we triggered the law on Calverton Helicopters, we have seen and read all sorts of hilarious and frivolous comments, particularly on social media, questioning the propriety of our actions against the carrier and its passengers.

"At this time and under the present situation, nothing; I repeat; nothing, is more important to us than to safeguard the lives and wellbeing of our citizens no matter the cost, and we shall spare no efforts to achieve this singular most fundamental objective of our Government."

FG bashes Wike for arresting Caverton Helicopters’ pilots

The Federal Government has bashed Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike for arresting two Caverton Helicopters’ pilots and the passengers for flying into the State during Coronavirus lockdown.

Wike had led the police and other military chiefs to arrest two pilots of Caverton Helicopters on Tuesday after the conveyed passengers into the State.

The two pilots, Samuel Ugorji and Samuel Buhari, were remanded at the Port Harcourt Custodial Centre on Tuesday.

Management of Caverton Helicopters had written to the Federal Government to rescue its pilots from Wike who arrested and prosecuted them in court for doing a legal duty.

However, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, on Wednesday, said the Federal Government duly granted Caverton Helicopters the right to fly into Rivers.

He said the Police Commissioner and the Commander of the Air Force Base in Port Harcourt would have to answer for alleged incompetence and for going with Wike to arrest the pilots.

According to him, Civil Aviation is on exclusive list and that it was only the Federal Government that had the power to legislate on aviation matters.

He said the police and air force chiefs who went with Wike to effect the arrest were ignorant.

“The Federal Government allowed the flight, we have the authority to approve such flight, we will do everything lawful to get the pilots back,” he said.

Clinton’s impeachment whistleblower Linda Tripp dies

Linda Tripp, the American civil servant who acted as whistleblower in the impeachment of President Bill Clinton has died. She was 70.

Tripp was working in the Pentagon when she befriended Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern who was having an affair with the president.

She made 22 hours of surreptitious recordings of Lewinsky in 1997, where Lewinsky spoke about the affair.

Then she handed them over the tapes to special prosecutor Ken Starr.

To Clinton’s supporters, Tripp became one of the primary villains of the impeachment episode -- a false friend who had betrayed Lewinsky’s confidence out of partisan motives.

Tripp, however, remained unapologetic about her role in the scandal.

Lewinsky recalled to Barbara Walters her feeling when she realized that Tripp had taped her: “Gutted and violated and betrayed. And scared.”

“I have never been so afraid in my entire life,” she said. “I wanted to die.”

Clinton denied the affair when it was exposed in January 1998 — saying he “did not have sex with that woman.”

He also denied the affair in a sworn deposition, leading to his impeachment on charges of obstruction of justice and perjury.

After a 21-day trial in 1999, he was acquitted in the Senate.

Dad is fined after his son breaks coronavirus lockdown rules for the fourth time

A dad has been fined after his son continued to flout the coronavirus lockdown regulations.

West Midlands Police said the fixed penalty notice could be doubled and reach as much as £960 if the teenager continues to go outside without good reason.

The neighbourhood policing team in the Blakenall area of Walsall said the youngster had been out three times, prompting a warning to the boy's father.

But he was unable to prevent his son from going out for a fourth time, leaving the force with "no option but to issue a fine".

Commenting on the fine, Sergeant Stephen Pursglove of Walsall Police said "The youth has now come to our attention on four separate occasions when he has been outside without good reason.

"On at least three of these he was with other youths and on one occasion he was abusive to the officer who tried to speak to him as he ran away.

"His father was spoken to after the first incident and the regulations, the reason for them and the risks to all of us, especially the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, were fully explained to him.

"Despite this he has failed prevent his son going out and associating with others not of his family.

"This left us with no option but to issue a fine. If the youth goes out again without good reason and again associates with others the fine will be doubled and could reach £960."

Kyle Walker's England career could be over for hosting a s.e.x party during lockdown

Kyle Walker will never play for England again under Gareth Southgate - with the Three Lions boss livid after the defender allegedly hosted a s.e.x party during lockdown.

The public have been advised to engage in social distancing measures amid the coronavirus crisis, yet Walker and a friend are said to have invited two prostitutes to his luxury flat in Manchester.

Reports emerged over the weekend that the defender, 29, who plays his club football for reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, invited two escorts over for a three-hour s.e.x session.

And just hours after his partying had ended, the Three Lions international footballer then urged his supporters to follow Government advice by staying at home to help ease the strain on the NHS.

Walker, who is expected to be fined £250,000 by City, issued a grovelling apology but that is seemingly not enough to save his England career.

The Star has claimed that England manager Southgate 'has been left seething' by Walker's antics and will no longer consider him for selection.

The former Spurs ace played an integral part in England's route to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals in Russia.

But he found himself left out of recent squads, with Southgate putting in youth by giving the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Aaron Wan-Bissaka the nod.

Southgate has made it clear that, following Walker's decision to breach lockdown rules, he will not tolerate any players stepping out of line.

The England defender has said sorry after it was widely reported he held a party at his home last week, breaking the Government's rules on social distancing.

"I want to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choices I made last week which have resulted in a story today (Sunday) about my private life in a tabloid newspaper," Walker's statement read.

"I understand that my position as a professional footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, I want to apologise to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for letting them down.

"There are heroes out there making a vital difference to society at the moment, and I have been keen to help support and highlight their amazing sacrifices and life-saving work over the past week.

"My actions in this matter are in direct contrast to what I should have been doing regarding the lockdown. And I want to re-iterate the message: Stay home, stay safe."

Woman suffers horrific injuries after her boyfriend tried to gouge her eyes out so that she'll be ugly and no one will want her

A woman whose boyfriend tried to gouge her eyes out, leaving her with horrific injuries, is warning other women - so they don't become his next target.

Mum-of-two Jenna Hurley, from Preston, Lancs, thought she’d met Mr Perfect in Mark Whiteside, until his 'nice guy' veneer wore off.

Savagely beating the 28-year-old to the point where her own dad didn't recognise her, Whiteside was convicted of assault occasioning ABH.

Shockingly he was only sentenced to 14 months and ended up serving less than half in prison.

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, Jenna said: "Now he’s out, he could be looking for his next unsuspecting target.

"I wouldn’t want another woman to go through what I did at the hands of that monster."

When Jenna met Mark through a mutual friend in 2017, she thought he was the perfect gent.

She said: "Charming, easy to talk to, attentive, I was besotted, in a bubble with him.

"He literally swept me off my feet. I remember telling all my friends I didn’t know men like him still existed."

Mark was also great with Jenna's daughter, then three. She said: "From the moment I’d introduced him to her, he’d been amazing. She’d taken an instant shine to him, calling him Markey.

"He painted her bike, covered it with her favourite Disney princess stickers and fixed stabilisers. She was made up."

Just three months into their relationship, Jenna realised she was pregnant.

She said: "I panicked, taking a deep breath I phoned him at work and told him.

"He paused and said 'OK let’s talk about it when I get home', I went the rest of the day worrying.

"But when he came over later, he hugged me. Smiling he said ‘now we’ll be a family'."

Jenna started to get excited about their future but, just a few weeks later, Mark lost his job.

Jenna, who was already working two jobs herself, was immediately worried about money.

She said: "I offered to help him update his CV but suddenly his eyes clouded over and he snapped at me, accusing me of being a nag.

"I was taken aback, but afterwards he apologised, saying he didn’t know what had come over him."

Jenna helped him put together his CV and printed out 10 copies. But as the weeks passed, they gathered dust on the top of the fridge.

Meanwhile, Mark’s dark side began to surface as he started to criticise her and call her names.

Jenna said: "When friends asked me to meet up he told me, ‘why would you want to do that? You’re pregnant. You don’t need to go out.’

"On the rare occasion I did venture out, the backlash afterwards hardly made it worth it. So I tried not to do anything to displease Mark.

"But when I got upset because he was going out with his mates all the time he blamed me, saying it was my hormones."

Although Mark still hadn't found a job, he offered to put some cash he did have into her savings account - telling her they could split the costs of buying a pram.

But one morning, when Jenna was 32 weeks pregnant, she was in the kitchen making a cup of tea when Mark stormed up to her with a face like thunder.

She said: "He lunged at me, demanding the money. He marched me to the bank in tears and stood over me as I withdrew it for him.

"I knew his behaviour wasn’t right, but having split from my little girl’s dad I didn’t want another broken relationship, not with a baby on the way.

"And naively I even thought that when she arrived everything would be OK."

It was at first. Ten weeks later, when Jenna went into labour and gave birth to their daughter in May 2018, she says Mark was amazing with their baby.

She said: "As he held her, he looked every inch the proud father and I told myself everything was going to be OK. My Mr Perfect was finally back."

When he proposed a few weeks later, Jenna said yes. But Mark’s nice guy act didn’t last.

When Jenna’s friends invited her out to celebrate the birth, Mark snapped at her, saying "mums don't go out".

She said: "He started getting funny about me going anywhere.

"Even when I went back to doing a shift in a pub to support us financially, he insisted I gave it up.

"He became increasingly paranoid, constantly checking my phone and he was forever shouting at me."

Mark finally found a job when their daughter was six months old, and Jenna hoped things were on the up.

She said: I thought things would calm down. But he’d disappear on nights after work, leaving me alone with the girls.

"As far as he was concerned mums didn’t go out, while he could do whatever he wanted."

One night, as Jenna got ready for bed, she even caught him checking her pants.

She said: "Taken aback, I asked him what he was doing. He replied 'to see if you’re cheating.’ I was shocked and I told him I’d never do that. But he’d still check."

Soon after, Jenna had a routine smear test which detected abnormal cells - so she had them removed.

She said: "Afterwards, I felt sore and the way Mark was acting I didn’t feel like having sex with him. So he grew even more convinced I was cheating."

For a whole week in May last year, the atmosphere was tense in their home.

Then one Friday, Mark switched off his phone, ignored Jenna's messages and didn't come home after work.

She said: "I grew worried. When he finally burst through the door after midnight, I said ‘where have you been? I haven’t heard from you.’

"My little girl was at her dad’s but our daughter was asleep upstairs, so as he thudded up the stairs I asked him to be quiet, or he’d wake her.

Their baby started to cry, so Jenna went to settle her. She hoped Mark would calm down, but he was waiting for her on the landing, raging.

She said: "He flew at me, clawing at my eyes. He hissed ‘I’m going to make you so f***ing ugly no one will want you', as his fingers dug in.

"Shaking with terror, I was petrified he’d blind me.

"I begged him to stop but he began hitting me over and over again, then he dragged me face down onto the floor.

"Next I felt a sickening pain as his foot thudded into my back. He kept saying 'I know you’ve been cheating'.

"'I haven’t done anything!,’ I cried. 'We have a family, let’s talk about this.’

"But he wouldn't listen. Suddenly, the pain in my back was dwarfed by the searing agony of him dragging me around by my hair as I cried and screamed."

At one point, Jenna managed to wriggle free and ran into the kitchen. But Mark caught up with her.

She said: "He put his hands around my throat and began to squeeze. As his twisted face glared at me, I had visions of myself dying right there on the kitchen floor.

"Then his grip loosened and, as suddenly as it had started, his attack stopped.

"He sank to the floor and began to cry. Trying to keep my voice calm, I told him I was going into the garden for a cigarette."

As soon as Jenna was outside, she ran to a neighbour’s house and hammered on the door.

They helped her inside. She said: "Through frantic sobs I explained my baby was in the house, so they said they’d get her while I rang 999.

"I rang my dad too, and he came straight over. When he saw me, he gasped.

"'What has he done to you?’ he asked, horrified. He didn’t recognise me."

The police and paramedics arrived soon after and took Jenna to the Royal Preston Hospital, Lancashire, where she had scans.

Mark was arrested and charged with assault.

Bill Gates Releases More Money To Stop Coronavirus

One of the world's richest men, Bill Gates has said he is willing to spend billions to speed up the hunt for a coronavirus vaccine.

The Microsoft founder has already devoted millions of pounds to help fight the disease, but is now looking at ways he can help further.

And he's looking at funding everything from drugs for symptoms to research on a cure.

There's money for seven vaccine makers to allow them to build factories and another £16million available to three initiatives in the US and UK studying the effectiveness of existing drugs in treating coronavirus.

And he's not stopping there - saying he's willing to put billions behind the efforts of doctors and scientists.

"The only thing that really lets us go back completely to normal and feel good about sitting in stadiums with lots of other people is to create a vaccine and not just take care of our country but take that vaccine out to the global population," Gates said on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

The money will be channelled through the charity he runs with his wife - The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
