A fashion designer based in Lagos, Mr Olumide has showed off the surprised package he and other tenants in his compound got from their landlord to assist them this lockdown period.

A Nigerian lady identified as @Coco_Lagos has taken to twitter to share a story of how her cousin lost her 8 months old pregnancy after her husband beat the hell out of her. According to the coco-lagos, her mother gave her a lot of pressure to get married because her cousin was married.
She revealed that her cousin had been going through alot of crisis in her marriage and no one knew. All that mattered was ‘getting married’, until recently when her husband beat her so much that she lost her eight months old pregnancy.

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, in a bid to discourage fitness enthusiasts in his country from breaking the lockdown order, recorded himself jogging and doing push-ups in his office to show that it’s possible to exercise indoors.
For those who don’t have space in their houses, he advised them to exercise in their compound to avoid breaking the Coronavirus lockdown, which attracts sanctions.
Businessman Aliko Dangote, Chairman Dangote Industries Limited has assured Nigerians and Africans of victory over the coronavirus pandemic.
The assurance was detailed in a goodwill message on the occasion of his 63rd birthday issued by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Dangote Group, Mr Anthony Chiejina on Friday in Lagos.
The entrepreneur commended the efforts of the organized private sector, which through the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) initiative had raised over N21 billion to support government efforts to tackle the pandemic in Nigeria.
Dangote also lauded the efforts of the government at all levels and those on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19, which currently was ravaging the economic, health and social sectors of the country.
“All hands must be on deck to help fight the coronavirus pandemic, and every gesture of support from other stakeholders outside government and the business community in Nigeria and Africa, would go a long way to help tackle this global dimension issue, with its impact felt all over the world.
“If we all work together to combat this virus, then there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
Dangote through his philanthropic organization, Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has donated N2 billion in cash and other materials to the CACOVID Fund.
He also donated four ambulances to the Lagos State Government to support its efforts.
The Consul-General of Nigeria in Guangzhou, China, Mr Anozie Maduabuchi Cyril has confronted some Chinese officials days after a video of Nigerians being sent out of their apartments in the Asian country went viral on social media.
Mr Cyril accused the Chinese officials of targeting Nigerians in the wake of Coronavirus which began in the country.
The ambassador insisted that no Chinese citizen has been served the same treatment in Nigeria, as he also pointed out that the same act is not meted out to citizens of other countries where Coronavirus has been confirmed.
He disclosed that most Nigerians who are victims of the Chinese government maltreatment live in China and have not been out of the country.
A few days after a man died in Daura, Katrina state after returning from Lagos, another person has suffered same fate in Delta State.
The state government has confirmed its second Coronavirus case who died after presenting himself to one of the hospitals in the state.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who made the announcement, said the deceased came into the South-South state from Lagos two weeks ago. The man had severe symptoms of the disease, and he died after his specimen which came back positive was taken.
Governor Okowa tweeted;
I have just been informed of another case of #COVID19 in Delta State. The individual in question, had underlying health issues and had visited Lagos State in the past two weeks. The patient presented himself late to one of our hospitals with severe symptoms.
These symptoms included difficulty in breathing. He was immediately given the necessary attention by healthcare professionals. Shortly after the specimen was taken, he passed away. However, his test results came back positive today.
In order to mitigate against the spread of the virus, we are fast-tracking our contact tracing to ensure that all those that came in contact with the deceased patient are properly isolated and tested immediately.
Again, it is important that as we work to protect the citizens and residents of our state, families and friends of individuals that are exhibiting the primary symptoms of the #COVID19 virus, do not keep it from the authorities. If you see something; say something.
A trio of suspected robbers, made up of one woman and three men, were allegedly caught robbing along Benin-Auchi road and they were beaten and disgraced.
The gang of robbers, also known as "one chance", operate a taxi which they use in robbing unsuspecting passengers. They were caught after they robbed a woman and tried throwing her out of their taxi.
A victim of the gang, Mrs Mariam Ufua, narrated her ordeal in the hands of the robbers. She said she was disposed of a sum of 30,000 Naira after she boarded a Taxi operated by the gang.
She said she boarded the taxi to New Benin, unaware that the passengers were members of a gang.
In the course of the journey, she said they asked her to wind down the window. She obliged, not knowing it was a ploy.
When she tried, the glass wouldn't budge. As she turned to tell them the glass wasn't working, she noticed they had dragged her bag.
She began dragging with them. When she finally got hold of her bag, she noticed the zip was torn and her 30,000 Naira was gone.
After they were done stealing from her, they tried pushing her out of the moving car but she struggled and screamed for help. She sustained injuries on her leg during the tussle.
A taxi driver who heard her screaming came to her rescue. The taxi driver said he chased the suspects after he heard Mrs Ufua's screams.
In an attempt to escape, the suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a gutter.
They were then apprehended and the female member of the gang was stripped.
Security operatives intervened before the gang members could be lynched.
The Federal Government has released a list of Nigerians who died of coronavirus abroad since the outbreak started some four months ago.
Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, made this known on Thursday evening via a clip containing the names, pictures and countries of residence of the departed compatriots.
In the clip posted on her verified Twitter handle, 13 Nigerians abroad have, so far, died of the novel virus.
Of the 13, eight died in the United Kingdom while five died in the United States.
The 55-second clip listed the departed souls in the UK as Dr Alfa Sa’adu, Carol Jamabo, Dr Kole Abayomi, Bode Ajanlekoko, Adeola Onasanya, Ugochukwu Erondu, Chidinma Olajide and Mmaete Greg.
Bassey Offiong, Caleb Anya, Akeem Adagun, Laila Abubakar and Patricia Imobhio were profiled to have died of the infection in America.
Dabiri-Erewa prayed that the souls of the departed ones find repose.
“May the souls of our brothers and sisters in Diaspora, who lost their lives to COVID-19, rest in peace. May the Lord heal the world,” she tweeted.
A 43-year-old man, Joshua Abraham, has been arrested by policemen in Ogun State for allegedly stealing his neighbour’s baby placenta.
The suspect was alleged to have gone to the hospital, where the baby was delivered, and claimed to be the baby's father and collected the placenta from the nurse.
He was, however, busted when the baby’s grandmother, Raliha Zakara, got to the hospital and upon her request for the placenta, she was told that Abraham had taken it away.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, explained in a statement on Thursday that the suspect was arrested following a report by Raliha at the Ibafo Police Station.
The PPRO stated, “The suspect, who is a neighbour to Raliha, came to the hospital, where Raliha’s daughter was delivered of the baby, and pretended to be the father of the newborn.
“He demanded the placenta from the nurse on duty and it was given to him.
"On getting the placenta, he took it away on the pretext that he was going to bury it.
“But when the grandmother got to the hospital and was informed that the suspect had taken away the placenta, she quickly confronted him, but he told the grandmother that he had buried the placenta.
“When the grandmother insisted that she should be taken to where he buried it, it was discovered that he had hidden the placenta but buried a dead rat.”
Oyeyemi said investigation into the matter led to Abraham’s arrest and the discovery that he was on bail for allegedly defrauding a policeman and a pastor.
"He took detectives to where he hid the placenta and it was recovered.”
The PPRO added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kenneth Ebrimson, had ordered that a thorough investigation should be carried out and that the suspect should be charged as soon as possible.
Actor Etim Effiong shared his joy on social media as his dad who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison officially received presidential pardon after 34 years.
Etim Effiong revealed that his dad was convicted in 1986 for concealment of treason in the Vatsa Coup against the IBB government and released in 1993 but it wasn’t made official and his rank and entitlements were not restored.

The Federal Government has advised Nigerians currently abroad to remain where they are as people travelling from one place to another stand a higher risk of getting infected with the coronavirus disease.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, disclosed this in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Ferdinand Nwonye, and made available to newsmen in Abuja today.
“It should be noted that medical experts have advised that it is better for individuals to remain where they are, as people travelling from one place to another stand a higher risk of getting infected with COVID-19,” Onyeama said.
Commenting on the Federal Government’s initiative to evacuate stranded Nigerian nationals abroad, the Minister said staff of the Missions are already reaching out to Nigerians in their respective host countries, noting that in due course, the necessary details provided will enable the Government work out the logistics for proper implementation.
The Kwara State government has announced a total lock down of the entire sixteen local government areas until further notice.
The Chairman, Technical Committee on COVID-19 and the Deputy Governor of the State, Kayode Alabi, announced this while addressing journalists in Ilorin.
He said the order would take effect from six o clock in the evening (Thursday).
The markets will, however, allowed to open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between ten o clock in the morning and two o clock in the afternoon.
The government is making efforts to trace all those who came in contact with the patient who died while hiding the fact that he tested positive for Coronavirus.
There was a fire incident at the premises of Ikeja Airport Hotel in Lagos on Thursday night.
Three vehicles were affected during the outbreak which did not affect the hotel building according to reports.
Confirming the incident, Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said in a statement that a building within the hotel premises was also affected but the fire has been extinguished.
He said, “We received multiple reports of a fire outbreak at Ikeja Airport Hotel along Obafemi Awolowo Way in Ikeja.
“On arrival at the above scene, it was determined that three (3) vehicles had caught fire, one Toyota coaster bus (LND133XW), a Honda civic saloon car (AKR234LZ) and a Cadillac Escalade car with unknown registration number.
“The resultant fire affected the Tour Africa Transport Company within the airport hotel premises and not the hotel building itself.
“The flames have since been extinguished by our responders and the Lagos State Fire Service and an investigation is being carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire.
“We appeal for calm and will provide further updates."
The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19).
He confirmed his health status in tweets posted via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.
Governor Mohammed announced his recovery from the disease about two weeks after he tested positive for COVID-19.
He thanked the people of the state, as well as religious leaders in Bauchi and elsewhere for their support and prayers while he was in isolation.
The governor also thanked the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the team of health experts in Bauchi tackling coronavirus.
