“It will be recalled that we earlier reported that the COAS had been on operational tour to troops’ locations in the North East Theatre of Operation since Saturday the 4th of April, 2020.

“COAS was also at the Forward Operations Base at Alau Dam, and also personally led the troops on patrol round Mairimari and Maigilari Forests.”

Denmark will reopen schools and day care centres on Wednesday as it relaxes lockdown rules after a number of coronavirus cases in the country have stabilised.
Remaining lockdown measures, such as the closure of bars, restaurants, shopping complexes and bans of public gatherings of more than 10 people, will stay in place for at least another month.
The Scandinavian country, which has over 5,000 cases of coronavirus and a total of 237 fatalities, has seen deaths and hospital admissions stabilise in recent days.
But Denmark's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, warned the plan will only work if lockdown rules were gradually eased.
Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, she said: 'This will probably be a bit like walking the tightrope.
'If we stand still along the way we could fall and if we go too fast it can go wrong. Therefore, we must take one cautious step at a time.
In an interview with DK last week, Ms Frederiksen said the government was hoping for a 'gradual, controlled and quiet reopening of Denmark'.

Archbishop Samson Mustapha Benjamin led a protest against the launch of 5G network in Nigeria.
Archbishop Benjamin who is the general overseer of Resurrection Praise Ministries International, was spotted protesting against the controversial 5G network.
The Archbishop staged a one-man protest as he supported claims of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome that the 5G network and Coronavirus are part of the Antichrist’s plan for a One World Order, warning that the Nigerian government must desist from making policies that will harm citizens of the country.
Recall that Oyakhilome claimed that illness and death happening in different parts of the world are caused by the 5G network, not necessarily the virus.
Top flight football leagues and competitions are currently suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak, with many fans looking forward to an early return date.
If you were expecting games to return any time soon, well information from FIFA might come as not so good news for you.
World Football governing body, FIFA, has revealed that football activities worldwide will not start until Coronavirus has ended and it becomes safe for people to attend public events and have mass gatherings.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said no ‘match is worth risking a life for’, adding that the association would help financially affected national football federations during the coronavirus pandemic as major leagues and competitions in the world have been halted causing a drastic stoppage of revenue streams.
FIFA last week postponed all international matches scheduled for June and also said players with expiring contracts this summer will have their contracts automatically extended.
“Our first priority, our principle, the one we will use for our competitions and encourage everyone to follow is that health comes first,” he said in a video message.
“I cannot stress this enough. No match, no competition, no league is worth risking a single human life.
“It would be more than irresponsible to force competitions to resume if things are not 100% safe,” added Infantino.
“If we have to wait a little longer we must do so. It’s better to wait a little bit longer than to take any risks.”
“We are today in a very strong financial situation. But our reserves are not FIFA’s money. It is football’s money. So when football is in need, we must think what we can do to help… It is our responsibility and our duty.”

There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may extend the lockdown order in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This came after the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, spoke at Friday’s edition of the committee’s daily media briefing.
The PTF had earlier in the day met with the President at the Aso Rock Villa.
Buhari had, on March 29, ordered the lockdown for an initial period of 14 days to tackle the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
As of that day, Nigeria had 111 COVID-19 cases with one death, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. The cases were recorded in 11 states and the FCT.
But as of Friday night, coronavirus cases had increased to 305 in the country after fresh 17 cases were recorded in the country. The states where the fresh cases were recorded were Lagos (8), Katsina (3), FCT (2), Niger (1), Kaduna (1), Anambra (1) and Ondo (1).
While 58 patients had been discharged, seven had died as of Friday night.
The new cases also brought the number of states affected to 18, excluding the FCT.
Lagos, FCT and Osun had the highest number of cases at 163, 56 and 20 respectively.
Speaking at the media briefing, Mustapha said, “The PTF, a small committee of us, this afternoon, had the privilege of further briefing Mr President on the assessment of our response to COVID-19 and, at the appropriate moment, we will continue to adequately inform Nigerians of government decisions.
“The decision on whether to extend the lockdown or not is exclusively the decision or responsibility of the President. Ours (the PTF) is to provide him with first-hand information that would inform that decision. So, I cannot speculate on that now. But looking at what is happening in other climes, you would be able to deduce what might likely happen, but I’m not in a position to speculate on that.
“I believe strongly that the information required to make that decision would be made available to Mr President, who would look at the holistic picture."
