Kim Kardashian reveals her six-year-old daughter has been 'running the house' during self-isolation

They have been in even closer confines now that they are under lockdown. And Kim Kardashian has revealed her six-year-old daughter North West has been 'running the house.'

'I can't get away from her. She's running the house, or so she thinks she is,' Kim, 39, told Refinery29 over the phone.

Indeed, North has been asserting herself lately in her mother's social media.

The youngster hilariously crashed her mother's coronavirus PSA, cheekily scolding her for paying too much attention to her friends.

'It's really important to also do mental health checks on your friends and loved ones,' Kim advised, before North chimed in.

'You should be more busy of your kids, not your friends!' the youngster said.

'Facts,' Kim said, resigned.

In a recent makeup tutorial video, Kim said she was hiding away in the guest room 'because my kids will not leave me alone.'

Like clockwork, North chimed in to tell Kim: 'Hey, that's mean!' prompting mom to roll her eyes.

Kim says she has been busy lately with Zoom makeup tutorials.

'If you only knew the amount of private lessons I've been giving people over Zoom,' she added to Refinery29.

Kanye West declares he's voting for Trump in 2020 election

Kanye West is officially voting for Donald Trump in November's Presidential Election.

The 42-year-old rapper made the declaration in the May issue of GQ magazine, defiantly stating: 'We know who I'm voting on... I'm not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over because of it!'

West, who famously donned a Make America Great Again cap and visited President Trump at the White House in October 2018, told the publication that 'better real estate' is the primary motivation for his decision.

'I buy real estate. It's better now than when Obama was in office. They don't teach you in school about buying property. They teach you how to become somebody's property,' he claimed.

West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, own four lavish properties dotted across the United States. The couple's primary residence is a $19 million mansion located in Hidden Hills, Calabasas. They have reportedly spent a further $20 million on extensions and renovations.

They also own two separate ranches in Wyoming and a luxury condo in Miami.

I voluteer to donate my blood for research on COVID-19 — Governor Seyi Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed his readiness to donate his blood as sample for research in the quest to find a cure to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When necessary, he said, his blood could be taken for evaluation by experts on post-infection protection against the deadly infection.

Makinde, who is a survivor of COVID-19, indicated his intention on Wednesday via his official Twitter account.

He wrote, “We have been advocating for local solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oyo State. So, as a COVID-19 survivor, I volunteered to donate my blood to be studied by our experts researching on the ‘Evaluation of Post Infection Protection Against SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) in Nigeria.”

Earlier, Makinde had said, “We are looking at local solutions. I know that a lot of people have been calling me all sorts of names on the social media but, from my experience, one thing that I know you have to do to conquer the virus is that you have to boost your immunity. We do have local solutions and, of course, we have to defer to experts’ opinion as part of the home-grown solution to deal with COVID-19.

“People may ask if we have been funding the research institutes very well. They may even ask if we are in a position to bring any kind of solution to the world. My answer is yes. Even chewing something like bitter-cola. When the Western World is having flu season, they have flu shots. But here, we have things like catarrh. When we are crossing over from dry season to rainy season, people almost always fall sick. Cold, cough, catarrh, we have ways of dealing with all of these locally.

“So, except a solution comes from the Western or Eastern world, I won’t say that we cannot deal with it. I believe we have the capacity. We have the intellect to look at things that work locally and we will keep encouraging that. We have the capacity to also validate some of the results that we are going to be getting.

“They did clinical trials for chloroquine and some other medications but these are things we take normally here. So, we are not ruling out a local solution to this pandemic.”

COVID-19: Pay Nigerians through BVN, Tinubu tells FG

National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has urged the Federal Government to make cash payments to households through Bank Verification Numbers to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerians.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, gave the advice in a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday.

He said payments could be made quickly by using the BVN of prospective recipients to make direct deposits into individual bank accounts.

The APC leader said the use of BVN would also be safer and not lead to violence and crime that might follow physical cash transfers.

Tinubu said this would encourage those without bank accounts to establish such accounts, adding that it would further bring millions of people into formal banking.

“The money-less family still needs food, water, shelter and, to a lesser degree, utilities. In a compassionate society, they should not be made to do without.

“Most families need relief. If relief is not forthcoming, these families risk hunger and its attendant suffering and woes,” Tinubu said.

He said the palliative measures would blunt hunger, maintain aggregate demand in the domestic economy and help sustain private-sector markets to the extent possible.

Tinubu explained that such payments could be done in either one or in a combination of three ways.

He said, “First, we can designate a stipend for every household. The amount should be enough to pay for the monthly needs of an ‘average’ household for food and other basics.

“While this may somewhat penalise larger families, perfection cannot be had at this time.

“Second, the stipends could be given as a form of emergency unemployment insurance to those who can prove they were relieved of employment due to the crisis.

“This will be more targeted at the actual victims of the crisis but harder to administer. This stipend will also have to be extended to owners of small and medium-sized businesses.

“Third, the government can render some form of payroll support to companies and businesses that seek to retain workers albeit they may not be fully employed.

“The stipend can help companies stay in operation while maintaining workers on their payroll. By maintaining workers, the company can more swiftly return to full operation when normalcy returns.”

Tinubu said payment of these stipends would require hiring additional government workers to augment the existing bureaucracies to implement that programme.

According to him, this administrative requirement will help boost employment and aggregate consumer demand.

He said that activating Trader-moni and other programmes would help many small-scale traders but not the average wage earner who just lost his job.

Student working as sugar baby doubles her income during lockdown as men queue online to chat with her

A student working as a sugar baby has more than doubled her income since the coronavirus lockdown began as men cooped up inside pay thousands of pounds to chat with her online.

Sherene [not her real name] is plied with expensive shoes, perfumes and UberEats cards by her numerous sugar daddies, who also finance her life as a student with cash transfers.

While one might have thought strict social distancing measures would hurt the practice - which typically involves young women exchanging s3xual acts with wealthy older men for money - the industry is booming.

SeekingArrangement, the self-titled 'world's largest sugar dating site', has self-reported a 56% increase in sign-ups in the UK in the two weeks after the lockdown began compared to last year.

For Sherene, who studies history of art at the University of York, this has translated into a huge jump in the number of men wanting to indulge in illicit Skype sessions with her.

With families stuck at home under penalty of arrest if they don't have a valid excuse for leaving, men are playing a dangerous game when it comes to speaking to the 23-year-old.

"It’s a fun little secret for the married boys and the single dudes just like sending stuff and seeing you in something they picked," Sherene, who is inundated with lingerie sets by her admirers, told Mirror Online.

"I have one client, he’s a QC, and he’s with his wife and older kids and we sext all the time. He says he’s addicted to buying me stuff and seeing me in it.

"His wife thinks he’s on important client calls when he calls me during the day. Like, he literally cannot stop. It’s awesome."

Another of her sugar daddies, a CEO called John, has been a trusty source of income since Sherene started as a sugar baby in August last year.

On their first date they enjoyed a meal together, visited York Gallery and took a drive in the countryside.

In return for a £4,000-a-month retainer and regular gifts, Sherene would chat to John about his family, take trips to the city's famous Minster and engage in oral sex with him.

"He talked a lot about his wife which was really boring, and his work, which was also very boring," Sherene explained.

"He's a bit patronising. We kissed a lot. I have my limit which is intercourse itself. We get to almost third base. I don't think his wife knows about me."

Since the lockdown began Sherene and John have had to move their relationship online.

"He can't video call as much because he's at home with his family so we have to talk at really awkward hours of the morning," she said.

"John is totally into it. He tells me that it puts him on edge.

"It's a little bit of drama and trouble. Sometimes he leaves the door open and says 'my wife could come in.'"

Sherene, whose boyfriend away from sugar dating is studying for a PHD, is clearly the exception and not the rule.

Not only has her monthly income recently increased from £12,000 to £28,000, she is incredibly open about what she's doing and honest when it comes to its issues.

COVID-19: Niger turns back trailer load of Lagos returnees

A trailer filled with over 50 persons has been turned back by Niger’s Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane.

The truck had been stopped by security personnel at Gidan Kwano area when they saw people on top of the truck unable to explain their journey.

The driver had explained they were coming from Lagos and heading to Kano, pleading they should be allowed to pass through as they pledged not to stop in the state.

But the security had to call the Chairman of the state Task Force on COVID-19 to seek permission to allow them to pass through the state.

Matane, who is the Chairman of the state Taskforce on COVID-19 when he arrived at the scene, immediately told the security personnel to escort the trailer back to where it came from.

He stressed that there was no waiver for any truck not carrying food items, fuel or other essential products to enter the state, emphasising the total lockdown of Niger0.

An eyewitness told The Nation that the truck had been covered with tampoli, adding that while some of the boys were on top of the truck, others were under the covering.

The SSG had emphasised the state was determined not to allow anyone to cross the border while expressing his doubly over the health of the passengers in the truck.

The 24- hour restriction order in Niger state entered its third day on Wednesday.

One million boys allegedly write Lagosians, ''we will cut off your hands if you don’t keep money for us''

Residents of different communities in Lagos are now in panic mood after the dreaded One Million Boys wrote letters of their intending robbery operations and demanded that residents should keep money for them or be prepared to lose their hands, Pm Express reports.

The medium says in the letter addressed to Lagos residents, they emphatically stated that they were coming for robbery operations and that the residents should keep money for them and failure to do so will attract cutting off defaulters hands as punishment for not having money.

In their letter captioned Alert! Alert!! Alert!!! the robbers stated, “We the undefeated One Million Boys will visit your area soon. Keep money for us and if you fail to do so, we will cut off your hands during the operations”.

The warning has really instilled fear in residents, who had known how the dreaded bandits, One Million Boys operated in the past. The robbers may have tested the ground following the recent operations they carried out some days ago in various part of Lagos.

Some of the areas the gang numbering hundreds with assorted weapons attacked included Agege, Dopemu, Orisumbare, Idimu, Ejigbo, Ikotun, Isheri Oshun before they moved down to Orile, Mazamaza, Ojo and Ajegunle.

Following the rampage of the gang, the residents had tried to put up resistance by mobilising the youths in the areas with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons and setting up fire on the streets while keeping vigil throughout the nights.

The residents of Ejigbo in Isolo Local Government Area were not exempted as they formed resistance groups on the streets and with the support of the Police they were able to repel the terror and dominance of the notorious One Million Boys, who had been causing havoc in different LGAs in Lagos State.

The notorious group, which was said to have its origin in Ajegunle, has been responsible for large scale attacks on civilians living in Lagos State; armed robbery, rape, kidnapping and killings at extreme cases were the ways through which they spread terror in the state.

It was also reported that before the group begins its operation in any LGA, it send letters informing them of their imminent attack. The aim of the letter is to instill fear in the residents of the areas and because of their numbers, it usually difficult to resist them.

Some of the residents, who spoke to P.M.Express, expressed their fear over the letter and the threat of cutting of hands despite the facts that many have exhausted their monies due to the lockdown over Coronavirus for several weeks now.

They appealed to the Police not to take the letter and warning for granted because they had done similar thing in Badagry area of Lagos, where they forced residents to drink the deadly insecticide known as Sniper.

However, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has assured Lagosians of protection of lives and property in the State which he had been up and doing with his officers from various Commands and Divisions before now. But what surprised many was how the One Million Boys mobilized and organized themselves to beat security men across the State to cause havoc in some areas.

NHRC kicks as security agents enforcing lockdown have 'killed' more citizens than coronavirus

Nigerian security agents enforcing the Coronavirus lockdown in Nigeria have killed more citizens in the last two weeks than the deadly virus, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said.

While the disease has so far killed 11 persons in Nigeria, according to data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), security operatives have caused the death of 18 people, the NHRC said in a report.

In the report signed by its Executive Secretary, Tony Ojukwu, and made public on Wednesday, the commission assessed the incidents of violation of human rights over the last two weeks.

“There were eight documented incidents of extra-judicial killing leading to 18 deaths,” it said.

“Out of this number, 12 deaths were recorded in Kaduna State. Abia State also recorded two deaths arising from two incidents; while Delta, Niger, Ebonyi and Katsina states recorded one death each.

“Whereas COVID-19 has led to the death of about 11 patients to date, law enforcement agents have extra-judicially executed 18 persons to enforce the regulations.”

The report described the action of the security agents as a total disregard for rules of engagement in dealing with the civil population.

Of the 18 deaths, the Nigeria Correctional Service was responsible for eight deaths while the police were responsible for seven deaths.

The Nigeria Army, on the other hand, was responsible for two deaths while the Ebonyi State Task Force on COVID-19, Afikpo South LGA, was responsible for one death.

The police, according to the report, were responsible for 90 per cent of the total cases of violation as Lagos had the highest recorded cases with 28 incidents out of 105 complaints of human rights violation received and documented by the commission nationwide.

Lockdown: Police shoot two dead in Anambra

The Police in Anambra have confirmed killing of two boys at Nkpor near Onitsha during a protest by irate youth over arrest of some of their members for flouting the lockdown.

The incident that recorded two casualties including a 20 year-old man occurred at New Tyre Market, Nkpor near Onitsha on Wednesday.

The killing of the yet to be identified boys by the police resulted in a protest by some irate youths, who burnt tyres on the road.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, attributed the killings to an unprovoked attack on police patrol team by some miscreants.

“It was caused by an unprovoked attack on police patrol team with substance suspected to be acid by some miscreants.

“Yes, they snatched the rifle of the police man after pouring acid on him, which prompted the other policemen to use force and retrieve the AK 47 rifle.

“Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to restore sanity in the area,” he said.

Mohammed added that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang had ordered a discreet investigation into the incident.

An eyewitness however, told NAN that the incident occurred at Ezego Str., Nkpor near Onitsha around 1:00p.m on Wednesday.

The source said some officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), who were relaxing at a shop near the scene of incident, accosted the boys for flouting the lockdown.

“The boys were actually playing ball across the road and decided to buy sachet water when the police officers saw them and wanted to arrest them.

“But they firmly resisted the arrest, which provoked the shooting by the police officers,” the source said.

NAN gathered that the shooting got youths around the area angry and they mobilised against the police officers, burning vehicle tyres in protest.

“One of the boys, who was shot at the stomach did not die immediately but was rushed to the hospital. He did not survive,” another source hinted.

Melinda Gates to Trump: Your WHO move makes no sense

Melinda Gates has slammed U.S. President Donald Trump for pulling funding from the World Health Organization (WHO) at a time of coronavirus pandemic.

Melinda described Trump’s move as dangerous and nonsensical.

She spoke Wednesday when she announced an extra $150 million of funding from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to WHO.

The money is to help speed the development of treatments, vaccines and public health measures to tackle the new coronavirus outbreak.

Melinda Gates said the WHO is “exactly the organization that can deal with this pandemic”.

“De-funding the WHO makes absolutely no sense during a pandemic. We need a global coordinated response,” Gates, who co-chairs the foundation with the billionaire Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, said in a telephone interview.

“When you’re in a crisis like this, it’s all hands on deck.”

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday a halt in U.S. funding to the WHO, saying it had “failed in its basic duty” in allowing the pandemic to take hold.

The Gates Foundation is the second largest donor to the WHO behind the United States.

Family is left devastated as they lose husband, wife and daughter to coronavirus in two weeks

A mum, dad and sister have died from coronavirus in just two weeks leaving a devastated son and brother feeling like someone has "stolen my heart".

After husband and wife Keith, 84, and Jean MacVicar, 82, died a fortnight ago, their devastated family were dealt another blow when the couple's daughter Jayne also died of the killer bug.

The mum-of-two, 62, developed telltale Covid-19 symptoms soon after her parents' deaths, with her younger brother Richard previously asking friends to pray for her recovery.

He posted on social media: “Come on, Jayne, stay strong and fight this please.”

But on Saturday the 60-year-old said: “It’s with heartbreaking regret to say Jayne has lost her battle for life.

“At least we have the comfort of knowing she is back with mum and dad.

“To lose half your family in the space of two weeks feels like someone has cut me open and stolen my heart. So, so wrong.”

Before her death, tragic Jayne had posted multiple messages on Facebook pleading with Brits not to ignore social distancing guidelines and to isolate at home.

The former Staffordshire Police crime analyst had swapped her profile picture for one that said: "Stay home, it could save lives."

The family, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, are now facing three funerals in quick succession with only a small amount of mourners able to attend each one.

Dr Osagie Ehanire, Nigeria's Minister of Health, has reacted to claims made by Mrs. Susan Okpe, the index case of COVID-19 in Benue State that she's being detained by the Federal Government.

The London based woman, in a new video shared online, accused FG of keeping her for treatment against her will.

Reacting to her claim, the Minister at a briefing in Abuja on Tuesday April 14, explained that Mrs. Okpe has been tested twice for Covid 19 and both tests came back positive but that she has refused to accept the results, insisting that they are fake because she is not showing any symptom of the disease.

The Minister said efforts are being made to carry out a third test on her and that if the test comes back negative, she would be discharged.

Lagos Opens Food Kitchen, To Feed People Once Everyday

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday introduced a new scheme to cushion the effect of the lockdown extension in the state.

Sanwo-Olu during a briefing at the State House, Marina, said the government would open food kitchens in all the councils in the state with a target to provide one meal per day to 100,000 persons.

Sanwo-Olu added, “There will also be unconditional cash transfer to 250,000 vulnerable residents and economically challenged persons who have identification numbers with Lagos State Residents Registration Agency.”

The governor urged for calm among residents, saying, “The additional 14 days extension will afford the frontline health workers to ramp up contact identification, testing, and admission of suspected and confirmed cases.”

Man Who Killed Female Evangelist Because Of Her Money Paraded

The Oyo State Police Command has paraded one Olaniyi Abegunde, 34, for allegedly killing a woman evangelist with the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Imole, Agbeni, Ibadan, Mrs Grace Ajibola.

Abegunde, who is a house painter, allegedly attacked Ajibola at her Oluyole residence on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and went away with some of her belongings, including three Automated Teller Machine cards.

During the parade of suspected criminals at the state police command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, said Abegunde was an errand boy to the victim.

The CP stated, “Abegunde attacked the woman with a wooden object, strangled her and later stole her Tecno mobile phone and three ATM cards, having discovered about N2m in the victim’s account, when she sent him to withdraw money for her.

“The suspect was later arrested in his hideout in Akure, the Ondo State capital. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime and explained how he withdrew the sum of N120,000 from the victim’s account.”

Abegunde, a resident of the Apata area of Ibadan, said, “I am a painter and I just got married. My wife is pregnant. I had not killed anybody before now. I have no criminal record. I am from Otun-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

“I met the woman (Ajibola) when I painted her house. This made her to like me. I have been with her for about a year now; I used to run errands for her, such as saving money, buying foodstuffs and so on.

“I knew she was rich. I don’t have parents and I don’t move with bad gangs. I know two of her children. One lives in Ibadan, while the other lives in Lagos. She was not the only one I used to run errands for. I run errands for other elderly people, because I like them.

“I strangled the woman in her home in the morning. The child, who was living with her, had gone to school when I perpetrated the act. I don’t know what actually came over me when I killed her.”
