Teens tried hiring hitman after girl’s stepdad caught them in bed

A teen couple from Pennsylvania were arrested Friday for allegedly plotting to kill the girl’s stepdad after he caught them sleeping together, a report said.

Dillian Mikel Weaver, 19, of Williamsport, and Angelina Grace Peluso, 16, of Trout Run, are accused of trying to recruit a hitman to kill Howard Blackburn, according to PennLive, citing police.

Upset over Blackburn’s reaction to catching them in bed together on Thursday morning, Peluso allegedly lied to Weaver over Snapchat, claiming her stepfather sexually assaulted her, according to arrest affidavits obtained by the news site.

Weaver, fuming over the allegations, reached out to another woman on Snapchat about his desire to have Blackburn killed by somebody.

“He gets off work at 5:30 so we’d have to be there before him and get him as soon as he gets out of his truck before he goes inside. We need to cover our faces … they have cameras there,” Weaver texted the woman, according to the affidavits.

“Just gotta take his body and dispose of him somewhere. So he’s never heard from..or found,” Weaver wrote.

The woman directed Weaver to a possible hitman. Weaver contacted the unidentified man and detailed the scheme to kill Blackburn, the report said.

“I just need him gone and no questions asked yk?” Weaver told the man, according to the affidavits.

But later Thursday night, the man notified authorities, saying he thought the murder-for-hire plot was a joke.

On Friday, the possible-hitman-turned-informant told Weaver another man, who could provide a gun, wanted to meet in person, according to the affidavits.

The informant and an undercover cop picked up Weaver Friday, where the boyfriend was recorded saying he wanted Blackburn dead.

Weaver and Peluso were later taken into custody. They were charged with criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and criminal use of a communication device, the report said.

Meet the two sisters who charge Zamfara bandits N6000 for s.e.x per night [photo]

Two sisters have confessed to their nefarious activities after being caught with a motorcyclist suspected of supplying food items and women to bandits in Zamfara State.

The sisters said they charge each member of the group N6,000 for intercouse per night.

According to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State command, Shafi’u Abdullahi and the sisters; Binta Husaini and Balki, were arrested on their way to Anka Local Government Area, where Abdullahi was taking supplies to the bandits.

Aliyu Garban, the corps’ commandant, while briefing journalists, said luck ran out on the suspect, when he was intercepted by officers of the command after a tip-off.

The commandant stated that the motorcyclist was arrested along Bagega-Anka Road with the two sisters, who are from Niger.

“During our Investigations, the suspect, Shafi’u Abdullahi, was discovered to be assisting a suspected notorious leader of the bandits called ‘Shaho’ by supplying social services to his hideouts. Binta and Balki are sisters and Shasho’s girlfriends and his friend, Jijji,” he said.

“As soon as preliminary investigation activities against the suspects were completed, the command would transfer the case to other sister agency for further investigation and determination,” the commandant added.

The sisters: Binta, 18, and Balki, 20, confessed that they collect N6,000 each from the bandits per night.

They explained that Abdullahi normally conveyed them to the bandits on his motorcycle.

However, Abdullahi admitted that he had a contract with the bandits, but said he has never been to their hideouts.

“The bandits used to come out of their hideout to collect the items from me. I have never visited their hideouts,” he stated.

Kano Finally Takes Action To Unravel Cause Of Several Deaths

Kano State government has finally responded to the agitations and concern over reported mass deaths of people in the state.

The state government has begun verbal autopsy to ascertain the possible causes of the deaths and to enable the authorities to take the necessary measure toward addressing the problem.

The government’s adoption of verbal autopsy was made known by the Deputy Coordinator of Kano State COVID-19 Response Team, Dr Sabitu Shu’aibu. He stated that the government had earlier put up a system to investigate if there was a link between COVID-19 and the deaths, adding that the system came up with the verbal autopsy method.

“Kano State government has begun house-to-house engagement with families of those that have died to carefully administer questions on the symptoms exhibited by the victims before they died. This is what is termed clinically as verbal autopsy and it will allow the health professionals to predict the possible causes of the recorded deaths,” he said.

Similarly, Dr Usman Bashir of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), stated that in an environment where an autopsy is not conducted due to some issues and when the dead had already been buried, verbal autopsy is the best way to go. He noted that it is apparent that such deaths must be recorded because all attention is presently focused on the epidemic while other sicknesses are neglected, stressing that the adoption of verbal autopsy would unravel the mystery of the mass deaths.

“The verbal autopsies would surely unravel things that we are not even looking at because we have overstretched our energy and resources on COVID-19."

Two Patients Flee In Borno After Testing Positive To Coronavirus

A man and woman in Borno State are currently on the run after they had tested positive for the dreaded COVID-19.

The Borno commissioner of health, Salisu Kwayabura, disclosed this information to journalists at the daily briefing of the Committee on COVID-19.

He said, “two patients, Abbas Kaka Hassan, a 24-year-old male and Hauwa Mohammed, 42-year-old female, are on the run after testing positive to COVID-19 at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in the metropolis.”

He said the male is from Layin tanki suburbs in Gwange II ward, while the woman lives in the Shuwari ward.

It was gathered that the male patient could earlier not be reached by the state COVID-19 response team even after his blood sample was collected. He later reportedly switched off his phone.

“When samples of patients with contacts to index cases are collected, they are normally advised to go on self-isolation,” the health commissioner said.

“They give their contacts so they can be reached when the results are out. This is the standard medical procedure. You can’t detain someone with suspected contact. We do not have the lawful powers to do that.

“Other patients were also allowed to leave but they came into isolation centres and we have 19 of them in two isolation centres. However, the young man in question chose to go into hiding”.

The commissioner called on anyone who tests positive for the disease not to regard it as a death sentence as the majority of those who test positive have recovered from it.

Adunni Ade returns to Islam, says I feel happier

Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade has returned to Islam, a religion she was born into. She said though her father never chooses any religion for his children, she started going to church after a while and she went for years, but now proud to announce she has returned to her father's religion -- Islam.

Sharing the news with her followers because she wants them to know where she stands, she wrote;

''Do you know why I hardly talk about Religion on here? It is quite sensitive for me. The prejudgment that comes with it and all. You’ve gotta be extremely close to me know what I practice.
So for the curious ones who have been asking, Yes I am a Muslim. Born into a Muslim home and was raised as one. If you care to know, B2 in my WAEC Examination. 😊

''I have a loving Muslim Father who has given his children the free will to choose any religion they like be it Christianity or Islam. My Mom is a Christian, though not a practicing one. My Step mom is a Christian, My step sisters are Christians, my Step brothers are Muslims.

''Have I been to a Church before? Plentyyyyy of them. I once converted, name the Church, MFM, RCCG, CLAM, CAC sure been there but one thing was certain, Islam never left me. My ways of dealing, my upbringing, all I learnt was from a Muslim and was what I truly knew. I was scared what folks would think about me if I went back to Islam and this went on for years. About 4 years ago, dec 31st 2016 I decided I would live my life for ME. Me alone! I came back to Islam. I feel fulfilled. I’m happier. I have received more Blessings this way. My Oldest son practices Islam, prays and Fasts as well.

''Yes, I wear what I like, be it modest or not. Who are you to decide my inner intentions.
You know, it’s easy for you to type on your key pads and make assumptions, but folks who know me will say otherwise.

''Islam I was taught teaches me that we are judged on our intentions by Allah alone. What’s within, not what you see.

''Not looking for acceptance from anyone. I want people to live their life’s to it’s full potentials. Worry less of what the next fellow is doing. Judge less, focus on you and you alone and watch great things happen to you.

''As Muslims do know, during the month of Ramadan, the Heavens are opened to accept our supplications and prayers and Hell is Closed and satan is caged down there. Let’s use this time wisely! I experienced Allah’s Greatness this time last year. I am looking forward to receiving my Blessings this year and every other day afterwards.

''I hope I’ve been able to clarify a few things.... y’all have a lovely night rest.''

Don’t drink bleach, NCDC warns after Trump’s comments

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has cautioned the public against consuming bleach or other disinfectants as proffered by United States President, Donald Trump.

Trump had, at a news conference on Thursday, suggested using powerful cleaning agents, through an injection, as a possible COVID-19 cure.

The US President, while briefly addressing his advisor, Dr Deborah Birx, said, “I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it (the virus) out in a minute -- one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs.”

Amid global shock and outrage over Trump’s comments, the NCDC strongly advised against drinking disinfectants.

The agency, in a tweet over the weekend said, “It is important to note that bleach and other disinfectants should be used to clean surfaces. They should not be consumed by people to treat COVID-19. Drinking bleach and disinfectants can lead to health complications and even death. Please share widely!”

Mysterious deaths in Kano not connected to coronavirus - Kano Government

The Kano Government has said the scores of deaths, in recent days, were unrelated with the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.

But it also quickly acknowledged it was jumping to conclusion by stating that the health ministry is probing the causes.

Malam Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner of Information, gave the government's position in a statement.

“The state government acknowledges recent deaths in Kano, but it is on top of the situation. We have begun investigation to unravel the remote causes of the deaths.

“The investigation into the cause of the deaths is still ongoing, but preliminary report of the state’s Ministry of Health indicates that the deaths are not connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Reports from the ministry have shown that most of the deaths were caused by complications arising from hypertension, diabetes, meningitis and acute malaria.

“Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is anxiously waiting for the final report so as to take necessary action.

“The state government is concerned over what is happening. The ministry of health is already handling the situation. When they are through with the medical investigation, further actions will be taken.

“The mystery, or whatever it is, will soon be unraveled,” he said.

Texas Mayor Broke Her Own Stay-At-Home Order To Go To Nail Salon

A Texas mayor has been forced to apologize after getting caught breaking her own stay-at-home order by getting a nail salon to open just for her.

Mayor Becky Ames of Beaumont, Texas was photographed last Tuesday wearing a face mask as she visited The Nail Bar, which should have been shuttered due to the mayor’s own lockdown order.

According to 12NewsNow, her action sparked a flood of complaints, leading to investigations by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and even Jefferson County District Attorney’s office.

Ames offered a “heartfelt apology” for what she dismissed as a “lapse in judgment.”

“I promise there was no malice intended,” she wrote in a statement.

“I should never have entered the salon last Tuesday. I did not intend to take personal privilege while asking others to sacrifice and for that I am truly remorseful.”

She admitted that “as an elected official I am held to a higher standard.”

“I regret my action that day. I am honestly sorry and I pray that you will forgive me,” she said.

The mayor says she was in and out in 10 minutes, and the owner was the only person in the salon. She insisted that she just needed acetone to remove an old manicure and did not get her nails re-done.
