Politician goes topless during Government Zoom call after mistakenly thinking she’d turned her camera off

A Mexican senator was caught getting topless on a government Zoom conference unaware that her camera was on.

66-year-old senator Martha Lucia Micher started getting changed during a May 29 meeting with members of the National Regeneration Movement political party, the Bank of Mexico, and journalists.

Screenshots from the meeting originally meant to discuss the impact of the coronavirus pandemic were leaked by an unknown attendee.

Sen. Micher apologised for the incident after it did the rounds on social media and she was mercilessly trolled by creeps and perverts.

The senator took a strong stance against the bullying and came out swinging, saying she is proud of her body and refuses to be objectified.

She said: “I am Malu Micher, and I am not ashamed to have shown part of my intimacy by accident, because it is exactly the notion that a woman is ‘just her body’ that has allowed and fomented the objectification of women against which I have always fought."

“I am a woman of 66 years of age who has breastfed four children, three of whom are today professional and responsible men, and I feel proud of my body for having nourished them.

“I am a woman who has fought for the left for almost 40 years and who has occupied various public roles in my fervent commitment for the defence of human rights, I am a woman who is not ashamed of her body, I love it and I take care of it.”

Many of her colleagues and fellow politicians have come out to show solidarity with the senator.

Fellow senator Ricardo Monreal Avila wrote: “In view of the attacks against her, a product of a mishap during a virtual meeting, we endorse our fellowship. Morals and integrity will always be stronger than infamy and assaults.”

Another senator, Maria Elena Morena posted: “The rubbish stinks in the senate and on social media. Our political and party differences should have limits.”

Fellow party member Martha Tagle wrote: “I will investigate and sanction those responsible for taking and leaking these photos. The violence to which you were subjected cannot go unpunished.”

Mum live streams birth of 6th child & thousands watch it happen

When we think of giving birth, we don't tend to think of it as a public spectacle. It's typically something private that happens in a delivery room, or in our own home, or potentially in the back seat of a car if the baby comes a little earlier than expected.

But one mum decided to share her birthing experience with all 56,000 of her Instagram followers.

Emma Isaacs, the founder and global CEO of Business Chicks, is now the proud mum to six children and on Monday evening, the parent decided to go live on social media while giving birth at home.

The Aussie mum, who's currently in LA, revealed her plan on Instagram on May 24, writing: "When my last baby Piper was born I really wanted to live stream the birth but got talked out of it and really regretted it afterwards.

"I don’t want to make that same mistake again so I’m going to live stream this one (which let’s be honest, could happen anytime from about now).

"I’ve had five amazing home births and really hope the sixth will be much the same. I’m also open to the possibility it might not be."

She continued: "I just want to do my little part to show that women are strong and birth (no matter what your choices are) can be amazing."

Fast forward to June 1 and she shared an update, letting everyone know she'd be going live.

"Ok friends, looks like we might have some baby action tonight. Contractions about seven minutes apart," she said.

"I’m going to hand my phone over to friends and family who are here with me (let’s hope they know what they’re doing!) and will see you all on the other side ... We’ll start by sharing some stories then go live when it feels right.

"My two midwives and doula aren’t here yet, but shouldn’t be too long. I’m feeling strong and ready."

The parent went into labour at around 8pm and began sharing her experience on her stories.

Then when she got into the birthing pool, surrounded by her entire family, including the dog, they began live streaming.

Thousands of people joined in to watch the birth of her baby boy, whose name is yet to be announced.

Tyson Fury signs contract to fight Anthony Joshua

Frank Warren claimed Tyson Fury has signed his side of the deal to fight Anthony Joshua in an unnamed country.

But the Gypsy King's promoter admitted his fears that the Brit, 30, does not want to face the Gypsy King, 31, anytime soon.

When asked about the possibility of Fury fighting AJ, Warren said on Good Morning Britain: "Look we've got no problem with it.

"We've signed an NDA with a country that are hopefully about to make the fight happen.

"I don't think the other side want it. I've got a feeling in my bones that they do not want the fight."

When asked the same question by GMB host Piers Morgan, Fury admitted he expects to fight Deontay Wilder first.

The Gypsy King snatched the WBC belt from the American in February after he beat him in their rematch.

He replied: "Deontay Wilder has still got that third fight he's got take."

When asked if he thinks the Bronze Bomber will go ahead with the trilogy fight, the 31-year-old said: "He will do and he will take the fight for one reason - money.

"There's a hell of a lot of money on the table. He's got eight or nine kids to feed."

Warren has previously insisted that the unification fight between Fury and Joshua is "not a difficult fight to make."

How blackmailer tried to swindle Seyi Tinubu of millions claiming he had a fight during covid-19 lockdown

Activities of some people who are of the opinion that they can make quick money through blackmail was brought to fore recently when one unidentified individual called up the number of the Executive Chairman of Loatsad Promomedia, Mr. Seyi Tinubu and demanded for a whopping N7million so they will not soil his name on social media.

The blackmailer, according to sources close to the hardworking philanthropist had placed a call through to the energetic young entrepreneur and claimed he is in possession of a video of him fighting a club manager in Lekki during the Covid-19 ordered lockdown and that he will be taking such to social media except he’s paid to keep quiet.

Though Seyi who is sure he was never in such a situation had called his bluff and asked him to go ahead, his friends and close associates are of the believe that the activities of such individual should be made known to the public in other for such false and malicious plan not to soil the good-standing his company and his family are enjoying in the heart of Nigerians.

The blackmailer hid the number with which he made the call and claimed he’s a journalist but failed to name the medium he’s working with, an act which is against rules of the journalism profession thereby showing clearly he’s a criminal trying to give the noble pen-pushing profession a bad name.

You will recall that not to long ago, a young man now in the net of the police tried to extort money from legendary Nigerian female musician Salawa Abeni, before he was exposed and is currently facing the tune of the music.

Okocha's iconic strike is "most spectacular goal in history of German football"

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has labelled Jay-Jay Okocha's strike against Oliver Khan for Eintracht Frankfurt back in 1993 the "most spectacular goal in the history of German football."

Okocha's magnificent goal saw him keep hold of the ball in the penalty area, twisting and turning past a number of defenders before slotting it cooly past the Khan.

The strike was named goal of the season by many German outlets and Khan joked in 2016 that he was still "feeling dizzy" because of it.

Speaking to the Guardian, Klopp lauded Okocha and that goal in particular, saying: "Okocha scored the most spectacular goal in the history of German football.

"It took like five minutes of Kahn and his defenders diving on the floor before he put the ball in the net.

"Some of the world’s best players have been from Africa; George Weah, Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure. In their generation they were some of the best players so why should we not sign them? It’s great."

Klopp currently has two of the best African footballers in the world at Liverpool in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and revealed he thinks they possess a different mentality as a result of their upbringing.

Meet 13-year old genius who has earned four associate degrees and is now off to the university

A 13-year-old boy has become the youngest person to graduate from a college in California with four associate degrees and a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Jack Rico now plans to study at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on a full scholarship.

Young Jack earned four degrees over the course of two years at Fullerton College in Southern California to become the youngest graduate in the school's history.

Jack was the youngest of 21,000 students and became well known on the campus.

'They treat me like any other student,' Jack told GMA. 'They're really nice and I've made some friends along the way.'

'It was a really fun and interesting experience,' Jack said to the Las Vegas Review Journal. 'I didn't really know what I was looking into at the start of it.'

Jack admitted that he found the studying both stressful and challenging but was determined to push on.

'I still can't really believe that I've achieved something like this,' Jack said to NBC4. 'I didn't know that I could really do that.'

Initially, his goal was to complete an associate's degree but he ended up taking classes in four subjects: history; arts and human expression; social behavior and self development; and social science.

Unfortunately, his first official graduation was canceled as a result of the pandemic so his family held a drive-by parade outside their front door him.

"I was a little sad and disappointed because I never had a graduation," Jack said to CNN.

He is now going to study history at UNLV as he pursues a bachelor's degree in history.

'I've always been interested in history,' he said. 'It's the story of where we came from.'

His classes will start next month and he will initially be taught remotely.

'I'm 13, so I don't want to rush everything,' he said. 'I'm still trying to figure it out, but I just want to focus on learning right now. That's what I love to do.'

Ultimately, the entire family plan to move from their home in Whittier near Los Angeles to Las Vegas and stay in a hotel for three days each week as Jack goes to his classes in person, which would be for the first three days of each week.

His elder sister who is 15 and is home-schooled, will also come with the family.

Reps ask DSTV Multi-Choice to suspend recent 15% increment in all their packages

The House of Representatives has directed operatives of multi-choice to suspend the recent 15 percent increment in all their cable packages with effect from Monday this week.

The decision followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by Mr Chinedu Ogah at the plenary presided by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.

In effect, the House mandated its Committee on implementation of pay as you go tariff (PAYG) plan by broadcast service providers to probe into the issue and report back for further legislative action.

Ogah while moving the motion expressed concern over the sudden increment of subscriptions knowing the challenges faced by Nigerians as a result of the coronavirua pandemic in the country.

The lawmaker accused multi-choice of multi-choice of chargjng exorbitant rates despite not rendering a “per as you go” services in line with global best practices.

Claiming that since the beginning of the pandemic multichoice has not render any form of humanitarian assistance to the country, the lawmaker argued that the increase in tariff will subject people to more hardship.

Lynda Ikpeazu (PDP: Anambra) made a fruitless effort to stall the motion arguing that Multi-Choice must not be compelled to reduce charges since it is a privately organisation operating under a free market economy.

The Speaker however said it behoves the House to intervene on behalf of Nigerians who have little or no choice but to patronise multi-choice services for now.

Big Fight: Oshiomhole Moves To Deal With Gov Obaseki

The plot by some governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to give a soft landing to their counterpart in Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki failed on Monday as they could not get the party leadership to change its decision to use direct primary in selecting its governorship candidate ahead of the September 19 elections.

The governors were led to the meeting by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum PGF, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state. Others who are at the meeting are Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano), Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq (Kwara) and Muhammed Inuwa (Gombe).

Although Bagudu denied broaching the issue of the mode of the primary election in Edo state, multiple party sources who were privy to the outcome of the meeting said the governors had wanted the party to sanction the indirect primary method for the state.

Having listened to the governors, the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had insisted that the mode of the primary would be the direct method, hinging his action on the 2018 decision of a meeting of the National Executive Committee NEC of the party.

Oshiomhole was said to have insisted that fielding the incumbent would incur losses for the party, saying the governor is not on good terms with political players in the state.

“There are 14 lawmakers who have not been sworn in until now by the governor. Oshiomhole told the governors who visited the party that those 14 lawmakers who were elected by their own people could go against Obaseki should he be given the ticket”, said a party source.

Another source said the party is not ready to lose the state and that the national chairman would in the coming days meet President Muhammadu Buhari on the Edo issue.

“Sure, he will be meeting with the president soon but of course you know that Mr. President is a man who sticks to the law. He would want the party’s constitution to be respected.

“The NEC already took a position on the mode of primary elections and the president was part of that NEC meeting. If there must be indirect primary in any state, there are certain conditions that must be met and none has been met in the case of Edo”, he added.

NEC Position

Section 13 (V) of the APC Constitution (2014 as amended) stipulates that the NWC, “shall, in particular, propose to the National Executive Committee NEC, Party electoral regulations, to govern the conduct of elections to all Party offices at every level and to govern the Procedure for selecting Party candidates for elective offices, subject to the of this Constitution.”

And so it was that the NWC on August 30, 2018, proposed the direct method of primary to the NEC. The said meeting consequently stipulated how primary elections should be conducted. While it can be argued that the NEC resolutions were for the 2019 General Elections, it might be instructive to add that no further meetings of NEC have been held to invalidate its 2018 decision regarding the mode of primaries.

In an updated statement by the then acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yekini Nabena after the said 2018 NEC meeting, the party held that; “The 30th August 2018 resolution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) on the mode of Primary Election has been subject to inferences and misleading interpretations.

“As an update to the earlier released statement, we wish to make the following clarifications on NEC’s resolutions on Mode of Primary Election: Primary elections into all elective offices shall be by Direct Primaries; NEC resolved to adopt Direct Primaries for the nomination of the Presidential candidate and all other Primaries; The Party’s constitution though provides for Indirect Election and Consensus, however, the use of Indirect Primaries is conditional and dependent on logistic impediments; peculiarities and need of a given state that makes it unable to use Direct Primaries.

“The State Executive Committee SEC shall in consultation with aspirants and other critical stakeholders of the Party in a given State forward for the consideration and approval by the National Working Committee NWC if Indirect Primaries is to be adopted. The adopted mode shall now be applied to all categories of the Party’s Primary Elections i.e. State Assembly, Senate, House of Representatives, and for the Governorship Elections.

“The request for Indirect Primaries must be signed by the majority of the State Executive Committee and critical stakeholders in attendance at the meeting where such resolution is reached.

“Direct Primaries will among others ensure fairness; create a level playing ground for contestants; eliminate corrupt tendencies usually associated with the delegates system and ultimately ensure full participation of party members at all levels”.

We sold our cars for my father’s release – CAN chairman’s son

The first son of Archbishop Joseph Masin, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, who was kidnapped on May 28, Bishop Miracle Masin, has said he sold about three cars belonging to him, his wife and his father before he could raise the ransom to secure his father’s release.

He noted that they also got contributions from some individuals to secure the release of his father who was abducted at his residence in Bukan-Sidi, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

While decrying the harsh treatment meted to his father, who is also the General Overseer, Word of God Worldwide Gospel City, in an exclusive interview with The Punch on Tuesday, Miracle refused to disclose the amount paid by the family.

He explained that they started negotiations with the kidnapers from N45m, noting that when the kidnappers checked his father’s contacts on his phone and saw the caliber of persons there, they jacked up the ransom to N50m.

He said, “Millions of naira was paid but we are not ready to disclose it now. The pressure was so much but we thank God for everything. The negotiations began from the day he was kidnapped till he was released on Saturday, May 30 around 11.45pm. He got home on Sunday around 4am.”

Miracle noted that the entire family was delighted to have his father back in good condition.

He added, “My father didn’t even know where he was until he met some people, who were running away from him until one of them was bold to come close and ask him what happened. They later took him to a place where we met him in.”

While describing the kidnappers as beasts, he said his father was left in a bush and was sleeping on stones with his shorts.

He added, “For those days, my father couldn’t eat. They were bringing food but he couldn’t eat because he was not sure of what was in the food and he didn’t trust them.

“They released him along Eggon but the ransom was actually paid in Obi.”

While expressing his gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule, his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bola Longe, Miracle pointed out that the state government was not involved in the payment of the ransom.

He called on the government to boost security across the state to tackle the issue of kidnapping in the state.
