Pictures show life inside sect where men drink from skulls and eat human flesh

Stunning pictures show what life is like in a sect which resides in cemeteries, uses dead bodies as altars and consumes human flesh.

One of the chilling images captures a man tipping his head back and raising his hands before drinking from the mouth of a real human skull.

In another picture we see a man sat down with a red human skull perched on top of his own whilst his face is covered in an eerie white dust.

Photographer Jan Skwara, 38, from Pruszkow, Poland, was travelling through Varanasi, India, when he encountered this Aghori sect.

The Aghori believe in asceticism - a lifestyle in which followers deny themselves sensual pleasures, choosing instead to pursue spiritual goals.

Over the course of four days, Jan learnt a great deal about the Aghori people.

Known for specialising in post-mortem rituals, the Aghori people also practice cannibalism.

While they worship the Hindu deity, Shiva, Aghori practices are seen as being contradictory to orthodox Hinduism.

"It is said that the Aghori exist in the space between life and death," he said.

"They usually live close to crematory grounds and collect 'human oil' from corpses.

"Post-mortem practices are considered to be filthy in Hinduism but the Aghori disagree with this.

"They have their own belief system built upon providing offerings to their God and consuming polluted things like human flesh, excrement, or toxins.

"There are many Aghori who choose not to partake in these ancient traditions.

"Instead, they engage in positive social change even a former president of India was Aghori.

"However, others live outside of society pushing asceticism to the extreme.

"The Aghori don't like visitors especially tourists as their lives are concentrated on praying and meditation.

"I was able to visit them as I met a young man who was a former Aghori."

Aghori people only eat the flesh of deceased corpses and often also use bodies as alters to forge a connection to the sect's deities.

Asceticism promotes ridding yourself of passion, lust, and shame.

For this reason, Aghori people wear very little clothing as a way to rid themselves of any shame.

They are not interested in receiving any fame or notoriety.

Jan said: "It was difficult to find anyone who could take me to see them.

"I must confess, it is scary to see all of the skulls.

"They behave strangely, sometimes screaming or running around.

"Aghori rituals may seem shocking to Western people but they are largely accepted.

"It's hard to describe the Aghori as their philosophy is so complex.

"There are no rules to how they should behave. Many follow their own individual paths."

Two children test positive for coronavirus days after primary school reopened

Two children have tested positive for coronavirus just days after primary schools reopened.

St Paul's Church of England Primary School in Wibsey,  Bradford, has written to parents to advise them on the need to self-isolate if they have come into contact with the two pupils, who are siblings.

In a letter to parents on Wednesday, headteacher Cath Palmer reassured parents that the two pupils had fully recovered.

She said all procedures were being followed, reports Yorkshire Live.

The letter said: "On Monday 1st June, we were informed that two children who have recently attended school, from the same household, had tested positive for Covid-19 over the weekend.

"We are pleased to share that they are now well and have fully recovered.

"After liaison with Public Health England and the Department for Education we have followed our school response procedures: informing all parents of children and staff who may have come into contact with those affected and advised them of self-isolation guidance."

Additional cleaning of the school was carried out on Monday and Tuesday this week as an extra precaution, she added.

Mrs Palmer added: "School is open to keyworker and vulnerable children from today, in the same way that it has been for the last eleven weeks, and the planned phased re-opening, starting with Year 6, is on Monday 15th June."

The headteacher reassured parents that the school had been working with Public Health England.

"We understand that these are concerning times for everyone but please be assured that we have worked very closely with Public Health England to ensure that all procedures have been followed; we have been guided by them throughout this period."

In a statement released through Bradford Council, Mrs Palmer said: "I can confirm that, following the advice of Public Health England, I have contacted the parents of children currently attending the school to alert them to the fact that 2 siblings who have been attending the school have tested positive for Covid-19.

"We have followed all the correct procedures advised by Public Health England."

Local councillor Ralph Berry, who represents Wibsey, told YorkshireLive: "This tells us that we are not through this crisis and that we need to be really listening to the Director of Public Heath in Bradford (Sarah Muckle).

"We need to continue to observe social distancing and be very careful. The Government message has been very confusing."

Bald men 'at greater risk' of having serious coronavirus symptoms study claims

Bald men could be at greater risk of having serious Covid-19 symptoms, according to new research.

And the lead author of the study is so confident in the data that he has told The Daily Telegraph: "We really think that baldness is a perfect predictor of severity."

The newspaper reported that Brown University's Professor Carlos Wambier conducted two studies in Spain which found that a disproportionately high number of men with male pattern baldness were taken to hospital with coronavirus.

The first study found of 71% of the 41 patients examined with Covid-19 in Spanish hospitals were bald, with the background rate of baldness for white men of a similar age to the patients between 31 and 53%.

The second study, which was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, found 79% of the 122 male coronavirus patients in Madrid hospitals were bald.

Scientists have argued androgens - male sex hormones - may contribute to hair loss and increase the ability of the coronavirus to attack cells.

That means hormone-suppressing drugs could potentially be used to slow Covid-19's progress and allow sufferers time to recover.

Professor Wambier told the Telegraph: "We think androgens or male hormones are definitely the gateway for the virus to enter our cells."

However others have urged caution, with Prostate Cancer UK head of policy Karen Stalbow telling the newspaper "much more evidence is needed" before such drugs could be used for coronavirus treatment.

Callous gang of three brothers murder woman, bury her in tank, then demand ransom

A callous gang of brothers, the Emmanuels, have been arrested by the Nigerian police, after they gruesomely killed a 55 year-old woman, buried her in a tank and then demanded ransom for the body.

The brothers, born by same parents, were arrested by police operatives attached to the Intelligence Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Force.

They were identified as Johnson Emmanuel, 38; Gideon Emmanuel, 31 and Success Emmanuel, 27years old.

According to the police, the three men kidnapped and killed Janet Nnenna Ogbonnaya, a widow and mother of five children in Abuja.

They were arrested in their home town of Isiekenesi, Ideato LGA of Imo State, where they had taken refuge from the long hands of the law.

Investigations that led to the arrest of the suspects was sequel to complaints received from one of the children of the woman, Chinedu.

He told the police that his mother, from Ozuitem in Bende LGA of Abia State had been kidnapped and a 5-Million naira ransom demanded before she could be released.

A comprehensive and painstaking investigation by the police operatives resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.

Then they made the confession that Janet had long been murdered and buried.

Further findings revealed that Janet, a Facebook friend of the principal suspect – Johnson Emmanuel, was lured from her home in Gwagwalada to visit the suspect.

The suspect thereafter took advantage of the visit, served her yoghurt laced with drugs and subsequently had her murdered.

The suspect having killed the victim and buried her remains in a septic tank, went ahead to reach out to the family of the victim using her phone and demanded 5-Million naira ransom as pre-condition for her release.

Police said the suspects led a team of investigators alongside pathologists to a residence at Wumba District, Lokogoma, Abuja where the victim’s decomposing body was exhumed from a septic tank.

The exhumed body has been taken to the University Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja for forensic examination, the police said.

A Toyota Highlander Jeep belonging to the deceased has also been recovered by Police operatives at a mechanic workshop in Apo where it had been repainted into a different colour.

The vehicle documents had also been fraudulently changed and ownership of the stolen vehicle transferred to Johnson Emmanuel, the mastermind of the crime.

Investigations also revealed that the house where the deceased was killed and buried originally belonged to one of the suspects.

The house was hurriedly sold-off to a third party apparently to obliterate evidence.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, commended the operatives for cracking the case.

He also gave an assurance that perpetrators of any form of crimes in the country will not go undetected and unpunished.

He however enjoined citizens to be more security conscious and report any suspicious activities within their neighbourhood to the nearest police station.

6-year-old boy drowns after slipping and falling off a toilet seat

A six-year-old boy has drowned after slipping and falling off a toilet seat into a pit latrine.

The child was found drowned in the outdoor lavatory near his family home in Moldova after a massive two-day search.

Beniamin Osipciuc disappeared last Tuesday in the small town of Hincesti, in the central part of the eastern European country.

Reports say the incident occurred in the afternoon when the boy was at home with his sister, 14, and brother, nine.

The older children were busy with their homework and noticed his disappearance only later.

They alerted their parents, who were working at the time.

After failing to find the boy on their own, the family reported him missing.

More than a thousand police, hunters and volunteers searched for the boy for the next two days, combing the town and its outskirts.

After the search resulted in no leads, police officers decided to take a closer look at the family's house and courtyard.

Police official Igor Zglavuta told local media: "We broke the outside lavatory and found the boy's body in the pit latrine."

Forensic examinations showed no marks of violence on the child's body, police said.

Prosecutor Remus Moroz told: "There are no doubts that it was an accident.

"The boy put on his older sister's flip-flops and climbed onto the toilet seat.

"We believe he slipped from the seat, fell in the drop hole and drowned."

Police spokeswoman Kristina Vikol added: "The victim suffocated in faeces after falling in the outside lavatory in the courtyard of his family's house."

Detectives say Beniamin fell in the toilet on the day of his disappearance.

His father Fyodor Osipciuc said: "We cannot imagine how he could fall through the drop hole. He used the toilet on his own since he was three..."

The child, affectionately called Bibi by his family, was buried yesterday, local media reported.

Kylie Jenner's incoming CEO steps down from Kylie Cosmetics amid Forbes billionaire row

Kylie Jenner has suffered yet another unfortunate mishap after the entrepreneur set to become the CEO of Kylie Cosmetics has stepped down just six months after taking on the role.

This is yet another fire the makeup mogul, 22, has to put out amid the shocking row that hit her this week after Forbes revealed she actually isn't a billionaire.

Coty reports that Christopher Honnefelder made the executive decision to step down from the position before he even started work.

Multinational beauty company Coty completed a lucrative $600million partnership with Kylie back in January as Christopher was announced as the new CEO.

But it seems as though his decision to step down was spurred on due to "personal reasons".

A statement announced that Simona Cattaneo, President Luxury Brands is set to take on the role instead after Christopher's shock departure.

A Coty spokesperson told Mirror Online: "Coty yesterday announced a number of changes that will allow the company to focus on its core Prestige and Mass Beauty businesses, including renewed investment in the e-commerce development of the Prestige Beauty franchise.

"As part of this effort, we are building a strong foundation to support our strategic partnership with Kylie Jenner. As noted on today’s investor call, Simona Cattaneo, President Luxury Brands, is overseeing the expansion of the Kylie business for Coty."

The statement continues: "She assumes these responsibilities from Christoph Honnefelder, who announced to the senior team internally a number of weeks ago that he would not be assuming the role of CEO of Kylie Beauty for personal reasons.

"Under Simona’s leadership we are excited by the opportunities for the Kylie Beauty business, as indicated by the very successful recent launch of Kylie Skin in Europe."

The news comes just days after Kylie saw a spectacular fall from grace after  Forbes magazine kicked her out of their billionaires list – just two years after they declared her the youngest self-made billionaire of all time.

The 41-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has said that it is her "responsibility" to have 'honest conversations' with her kids about racial equality, even if it makes them "uncomfortable."

As her brother-in-law Kanye West joins protests in Chicago, after donating $2 million to funds for grieving families, Kourtney has said that she needs to step up with her education of her children on the matters of race.

Writing on Instagram, Kourtney shared her plans with her followers.

She told them: "As a mother there is a natural instinct to protect my children from anything that might make them feel sad or unsafe.

"The pain and suffering inflicted by racism is not a thing of the past and I bare the responsibility to speak with my kids honestly and often about it, even when the truth is uncomfortable."

The reality star continued: "I have to make sure they understand what it means to have white privilege and to take the time to learn and discuss Black History, beyond just one short month out of the year."

Her words come in response to the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.

Writing about her three children that she has with Scott Disick - Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and Reign, five - the Poosh lifestyle founder added that she hopes to "encourage other mothers to join me in using this as a learning lesson for our children, to allow our children to feel comfortable enough to come talk to us about anything."

Kourtney continued: "Allow conversation without judgement and learn from our children too. We don't know it all.

"My children sometimes ask questions that I may not know the answers to, so we explore them together."

I don’t believe President Buhari is in charge – Soyinka

Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has said that he does not believe President Muhammadu Buhari is in charge of the country.

This is coming days after a retired colonel and former military administrator of Kaduna, Umar Dangiwa, wrote an open letter to Buhari over the president’s habit of appointing people from his section of the country into office.

Reacting to this in an interview on PlusTv Africa’s ‘One-On-One’ on Thursday, the playwright and political activist said the answer to the nation’s problem is decentralisation.

The renowned writer commended the former military administrator who has a tendency to hit the nail hard and go straight to the point factually without self-interest.

He said: “Umar Dangiwa is one of the really serious letter writers without self-interest and when I saw this I was appalled but I shouldn’t have been appalled in the first place. I was appalled by the silence that followed this revelation. I think those who are responsible for this criminal lopsidedness should be punished. It is not sufficient just to discuss it. It’s criminal.

“I have said this before. I don’t believe there is really anybody in charge in Aso Rock. I’m sorry to say this. I’ve been studying the trend over the past year and a half and I believe this president is not in charge of this nation, in so many aspects and directions.

“I’m convinced he’s not really and totally with it.

“It’s so serious. It is not the fact alone, we know the history of this. We know what it has caused the nation, and we know it isn’t over yet. And you say are launching an enquiry. That’s not enough. This man is not in charge.”
