50 Senior Directors Fail Perm Secs’ Exam In Abuja

The Federal Government has shortlisted 41 directors for the final round of examination towards becoming permanent secretaries in the civil service.

The 41 directors emerged from the 91 candidates who sat an Information Communication Technology proficiency test on Thursday in Abuja.

This means 50 senior government officials who sat for the examination did not succeed.

A copy of the memo announcing the 41 successful candidates was obtained on Saturday.

The memo dated June 6, 2020 was signed by the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, I. A. Mairiga, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.

Mairiga noted that the 41 successful candidates would now take part in the final examination which is an oral interview slated for Monday.

The memo read, “Following the conduct of the ICT proficiency test for the appointment of permanent secretaries in the federal civil service on June 4, 2020, I am directed to invite the following 41 shortlisted candidates to the oral interview/interactive session.

“Accordingly, the candidates are to report for the interview on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Hall, Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase II, Abuja by 8am prompt.”

Only 16 out of the 41 final candidates are expected to become permanent secretaries.

Yemi-Esan had in an earlier circular issued in March indicated that examinations would be conducted to appoint 16 new permanent secretaries.

She had said 14 of the new permanent secretaries are meant to replace existing ones that are billed to retire this year, while the remaining two are meant to fill existing vacancies.

According to the March 23 circular, the 14 states with permanent secretaries that will retire this year are Kebbi, Kwara, Abia, Anambra, Cross River, Kaduna, Kano, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe and Jigawa.

The two states with existing vacancies are Zamfara and Kogi.

Yemi-Esan had reiterated that only officers in the mainstream of the federal civil service who attained the substantive rank of director on Salary Grade Level 17 on or before January 1, 2018 and who have updated their records on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System verification portal are eligible to sit for the examinations.

She added that to be eligible, such officials must hail from Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Cross River, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara States and should not be retiring from service earlier than on December 31, 2021.

She wrote, “Accordingly, the following officers shall not be accredited: directors that did not update their online records on the IPPIS verification portal (from April 5, 2017 up until it closed on May 23, 2018).

“Those that shall not be accredited also include serving directors retiring earlier than or on December 31, 2021; serving directors promoted in the last one year (2019); and directors undergoing disciplinary procedure.”

The last time permanent secretaries were appointed was in December 2019 when the Federal Government approved the appointment of nine new permanent secretaries.

Actors guilty of r.a.p.e should be banned — Patience Ozokwor

For most of the week, one thing that has been on the lips of many Nigerians is the issue of rape. This was triggered after it was reported that a young girl, Uwavera Omozuwa, had been r.a.p.e.d and killed in a church (Benin, Edo State) where she had gone to read. In the course of the week, several ladies made allegations of rape against their attackers, including those in the entertainment industry.

Expressing disgust at the act, popular actress, Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, told Sunday Scoop that actors found guilty of such conduct should be banned from the industry.

She said, “Yes (they should be banned) because they cannot represent us as an industry. The guilds in the industry have disciplinary committees and they won’t allow such people to stay. There is a standard punishment that is to be meted out to anyone found guilty of such act.

“It is heartbreaking whenever I hear that things like that happen in the entertainment industry because they (entertainers) have access to whatever they want. There is no girl they desire and approach that would not follow them, even when they (girls) know that some of them are married. Forcing a girl into (the act) is just stupid. My heart is breaking as you are telling me that it happens in the industry because I don’t go on social media anymore.”

Handing down advice for the womenfolk, she said, “Girls should stop dressing provocatively. It seems like they can’t do without skimpy wear. That was one of the reasons I shut down my boutique because if one doesn’t sell skimpy clothes, people would not buy. However, people with good background would not do that because they know it would bring shame to their families.

Some actresses think that when they dress that way, they would get roles but it is not true. Talent comes first. It is on set that one would be given the kind of dress one is to wear, so that one can properly portray the character one is playing. Many girls come in (the industry) and they want to make it by all means, so they fall into the wrong hands. Even some of the people they think are directors may not be professional directors. Real directors don’t have time to mess around like that.

“Ladies should take it easy. Becoming a star is not the ultimate. When I started my career, I didn’t know that there was anything like stardom. I was just doing what I enjoyed and it has turned out to be what it is today.

“Some parents even dress their children in skimpy clothes, saying they want to prepare them to be stars. Whenever they meet any one that promises to turn their children to stars, they would quickly hand them over to the person.”

I will ONLY be getting married at 75 - Yeni Kuti

Dancer and daughter of the late Afrobeat originator, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Yeni, has finally answered the question that many have been asking for a long time.

She told Sunday Scoop when she would eventually be getting married.

She said, “I have a partner and we have started our marriage plans. We would get married when I am 75 years old.”

Kuti also noted that the closure of event centres, including the New Afrikan Shrine, had taken its toll on the entertainment sector.

She said, “With this lockdown, I’m broke. Our kind of business is not what one can run online. People have to come to the Shrine to enjoy themselves and that’s when they patronise us.”

The retired dancer also maintained that it was wrong to flaunt luxurious items in the midst of excruciating poverty in the land.

She said, “I don’t do that (post flashy things). Even if I can afford it, I am not that kind of person. In a country where so many people are hungry, why should one want to flaunt designer products? You can do that if you are in America where most people are comfortable.

I could post a picture of myself dressed up but not wearing designer items. Life is transient. All the things in this world can’t be taken anywhere with one when one dies. Now, we are not even allowed to attend any social gathering, so if one has the best shoes and clothes, one can’t wear them to anywhere.”

My enemies are at work over corruption allegations- Obasa

The embattled Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has said that the corruption allegations against him by an online news medium were the handiwork of his enemies.

Obasa, who appeared before the nine-man Fact Finding Panel Committee of the House headed by Hon. Victor Akande (Ojo Constituency 1) on Saturday, insisted that the allegations were unfounded.

The Speaker stressed that the vehicles bought for the members of the House and other expenses made by the House were done with the approval of the House and that of the Fund Management Committee (FMU) headed by him.

“We bought Land Cruisers for Principal Officers of the House. The cars we buy for Principal Officers are always higher than those of other members and we followed the due process in the purchase.

“We went through the Public Procurement Agency (PPA) and others and the vehicles were distributed appropriately. It was agreed at the parliamentary meetings on about four occasions and the Clerk of the House is the secretary.

“Also, it is not true that my wife collects N10 Million monthly from the House. Anyone who says she does should come with proofs and evidences. My approval limit as the Speaker of the House is N100 million. Anything above that would have to be approved by the FMC.

The Speaker also debunked an allegation that N258 million was spent for the printing of invitation cards for the inauguration of the 9th Assembly.

He stressed that the whole event cost N61 Million and that N1.1 million was spent to print the invitation cards.

“It is not possible to spend N258 million to print invitation cards. We are not involved in such a frivolous expenditure,” he added.

On the expenditure of N80 Million as estacode for the training of women in Dubai, the Speaker said that wives of 20 lawmakers attended the event and that he was there to declare the event open.

“We gave N4 million to each of the participants for air ticket, hotels, feedings and local travel.

“Air ticket to Dubai alone is about N2 million. Some of these allegations were raised for a crusade to get the Speaker out of office.

“The House of Assembly is above common standard of excellence and we have to train people, and this comes with a cost. Learning is not cheap and I have never collected N80 Million for estacode at a go before,” he said.

Defending the purchase of eight Hiace buses for committee works in the Assembly, Speaker Obasa said that it was discovered that the House was spending a lot of money to repair vehicles, which he said was why the House decided to buy the buses and that the buses were there for everybody to see with documents to defend the purchases.

The Speaker also denied the allegation that he spent N53 million for a trip to the United States of America with his mistress.

Sokoto discharges all 101 patients, records 14 deaths

The Sokoto State Taskforce Committee on COVID-19 has discharged all 101 isolated coronavirus patients in the state and recorded 14 deaths.

The Committee’s Chairman, Ali Inname, who disclosed this at a news conference in Sokoto, said that as of Friday there was no patient at the isolation centre in the state.

Mr Inname added that the first index case was recorded on April 19 in the state, with 731 samples collected, while 655 contacts completed the 14 days of follow up.

The chairman who is also the state’s Commissioner for Health, explained that the committee received 839 alerts from across the state and that all of them were investigated.

He said that the patients were from eight local government areas of the state.

According to him, men constituted 85 per cent of the patient population.

He said that the committee’s activities would continue as many test results were still pending.

He added that testing of suspected patients would continue, stressing that any positive person detected would be taken to the isolation centre.

Mr Inname, therefore, urged people to continue to patronise hospitals as service delivery had fully resumed in recognition of the fact that access to healthcare had declined due to the pandemic.

The commissioner also advised people to abide by the safety guidelines of wearing face masks, constant washing of hands with soap, and using sanitisers as well as observing physical distance, among others.

Kardashians say Blac Chyna has 'stooped to new low' as she accuses them of racism

Tensions between Blac Chyna and the Kardashian clan show no sign of easing, with the model now accusing the family of racism.

In the latest twist of their legal battle, Chyna's attorney is claiming her client's race is the reason that reality show Rob & Chyna never got a second season on E!.

The war between the two parties has been raging since 2017 when Chyna sued the entire Kardashian family claiming they went behind her back to get reality show Rob & Chyna cancelled, which she had starred in alongside former fiancé Rob Kardashian.

That lawsuit came a month before Rob and his sister Kylie Jenner accused Chyna of battery, when she allegedly tied to choke him with a phone charger cord.

Addressing the latest accusations of racism in the legal battle, Kardashian-Jenner's family attorney Marty Singer said Chyna had 'stooped to a new low'.

Marty Singer told TMZ: "This is a 2 year old lawsuit in which Chyna has changed her defense more times than we can count. Sadly, unsurprising to anyone, she has stooped to a new low, changing her defense to try to leverage the emotions and pain of the moment, insulting the pain and suffering of real victims of racial injustice and systemic racism."

He added: "We take these allegations very seriously and once again, there is no Rob & Chyna show if there is no Rob & Chyna."

Football legend John Barnes accidentally tweets p.o.r.n

Three Lions legend John Barnes accidentally shared horrific graphic p*rn on Twitter on Saturday.

He, however, apologized after realizing the mistake.

The former Liverpool and Watford ace scored an own goal after posting a picture of Donald Trump which contained a thumbnail image of a shocking x-rated video.

His initial tweet featured an image of a false quote on the US president’s mum, Mary Anne Trump, calling her famous son an ‘idiot’.

However, Barnes failed to notice that the screenshot he posted left other images in the camera roll clearly visible.

One of the small thumbnail images on the camera roll contained the horrifically graphic adult content.

While the shocking post was still on Twitter, one of his followers suggested he may want to crop it.

However, Barnes wrote: ‘Don’t know how to do that… I’m afraid to press buttons on this phone.

‘I’m 56 yrs old, so happy to just be able to get one or 2 words out on twitter that people understand!!’
He wrote: “I have to apologise for any offence caused as I posted a Donald trump picture sent to me by a friend… on the camera roll under was a video of pornography.

“I wasn’t aware that it was there and apologise once again for any offence caused.”

Barnes has now deleted the tweet.

He managed to see the funny side of the social media slip as he quickly followed up with: “PS it wasn’t Michael Owen”.

Police officer set on fire at protest over man ‘beaten to death for having no mask’

Disturbing footage shows a police officer being set on fire by a protester during demonstrations over the death of a builder allegedly beaten to death by police.

The incident took place during protests in the city of Guadalajara, in the western Mexican state of Jalisco as locals gathered to ask for justice for Giovanni Lopez, 30, who died after his arrest.

In the video, officers in helmets can be seen facing up to protesters when one of the officers gets onto his motorbike.

A protester then runs up behind him and pours flammable liquid onto the officer before setting him alight.

The officer goes up in flames along with the seat of his bike and he falls to the ground.

Protesters then rush towards him but they are kicked away by other officers in riot gear who shield the officer and take him to safety.

The Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, confirmed that the officer was injured in the protest along with five others in the police force.

Around 26 people were arrested while three patrol cars were reportedly burnt out.

The protesters were shouting “Giovanni was killed by the state” as they seek justice in the case of Lopez who died after being arrested by municipal police in Ixtlahuacan de Membrillos, in Jalisco state.

Protesters claim the construction worker died after being beaten by police last month.

He was arrested for an "administrative offence" with reports saying he was stopped whilst not wearing a face mask in public.

Governor Alfaro claimed that “interests coming from Mexico City, with the goal of causing instability” were behind the protests and said that no violent acts were committed against the protesters.

He said: “Guadalajara police and state police met the requirements of the circumstances and knew to resist without falling into provocation”.

Jalisco Attorney General Gerardo Solis said authorities had arrested three police officers over the death of Lopez.

"We already have the first arrests and we have decided to take control of the Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos municipal police. And I give you my word, Giovanni's death will not go unpunished," Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro said on Twitter.

Legal practitioner seeks amendment of law on r.a.p.e

An Ilorin based legal practitioner, Mr Adeola Omotunde, has advocated amendment of the law on rape and defilement of minors in the face of rampant cases of r*pe in the society.

Omotunde made the appeal on Saturday in Ilorin while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria.

According to him, now that the cases of r*pe is increasing, the law guarding it has to be amended to make it more stringent or to serve as deterrent to discourage the perpetrators.

He said that the Nigerian law was sufficient to fight the menace of rape, but the law would need to be strengthened and the punishment increased to curb the act in the society.

“The law guarding the rape cases were enacted many years ago by the colonial inheritance but recently the cases are rampant; the law has to be amended

“The level of awareness is not enough because we have large number of people in Nigeria who are illiterate.

“Somebody who is an illiterate cannot understand anything we are saying in the newspaper and television; some of them don’t even have radios at home.

“The awareness campaign should be taken to the Mosques and Churches in their communities and religious leaders should preach that r*pe is an offence against humanity and God,’’ the lawyer said.

He identified some of the factors responsible for the rising cases of r*pe as culture, religion and indecent dressing among ladies.

Omotunde said that other factors are the intake of hard drugs, alcohol and Indian hemp.

He said that if people are under the influence of drugs, they lacked the capacity to control themselves and eventually tend to rape ladies/minors or even their own children.

He added that because victims seldom speak out due to fear of social stigma, this encourages the perpetrators to go on committing similar offences.

White American football player issues apology for saying kneeling during national anthem to protest racial injustice is disrespectful

Drew Brees has issued another apology amid backlash from fans and teammates over his disapproval of NFL players kneeling in protest during the national anthem, this time posting a self-recorded video on Instagram to convey his sincerity on the matter.

'I know there's not much that I can say that would make things any better right now,' the New Orleans Saints star said on Instagram. 'But, I just want you to see in my eyes how sorry I am for the comments that I made yesterday.

'I know that it hurt many people, especially friends, teammates, former teammates, loved ones, people that I care and respect deeply,' he continued. 'That was never my intention.'

In the wake of the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd, Brees repeated his opposition to kneeling during the national anthem in an interview with Yahoo Finance on Wednesday.

And the biting backlash that followed prompted the Saints' star quarterback to issue a several apologies on Thursday, first writing that he 'missed the mark' and then promising to 'do better' in his self-made video.

In the apology video, Brees also referenced the recent killing of Ahmad Arbery, the black man who was shot to death by a former cop and his son while he was jogging in Georgia.

'I wish I would have laid out what was on my heart in regards to the George Floyd murder, Ahmaud Arbery, the years and years of social injustice, police brutality and the need for so much reform and change in regards to legislation and so many other things to bring equality to our black communities,' Brees said.

'I am sorry and I will do better and I will be part of the solution and I am your ally.'

When Brees expressed his position on the anthem three years ago, he was one of many voices in a crowded conversation about Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players raising awareness about racist police brutality by refusing to stand for the Star-Spangled Banner.

But when he repeated it Wednesday, pointing to his World War II veteran grandfathers to explain his objection, the Saints quarterback learned in humbling fashion how times have changed.

Brees's comments were blasted by LeBron James and several other famous athletes, not to mention members of the New Orleans Saints — most notably record-setting wide receiver Michael Thomas, Brees's favorite target, and veteran safety Malcolm Thomas, who told Brees to 'shut the f*** up' in his own social media video.

Some Saints fans were seen burning his replica jersey, while other demonstrators in New Orleans could be heard chanting 'f*** Drew Brees.'

Thomas, linebacker Demario Davis, and some other Saints players have since accepted Brees's apology.

'One of my brothers made a public statement yesterday that I disagreed with,' Thomas wrote on Twitter. 'He apologized & I accept it because that's what we are taught to do as Christians. Now back to the movement! #GeorgeFloyd.'

Last year, Brees took heat for recording a public service announcement promoting 'Bring Your Bible to School Day' for the group Focus on the Family, which has actively campaigned against gay rights. Brees said he never meant to associate himself with anti-gay messaging and took issue with anyone who accused him of doing so. He also stood by his message in the video.

Lady who accused House of Reps aspirant, Ettu Mohammed of r.a.p.e speaks further

A lady identified as Aminat Popoola has accused a House of Representatives aspirant, Ettu Mohammed, of rape.

On June 2, 2020, Aminat took to her Twitter handle to accuse Mohammed, who contested to represent Mushin II constituency in the House of Representatives in 2019.

Aminat stated that she met Mr. Mohammed in 2006 at Number 19 Feyintola Giwa street in the Pako Aguda area of Lagos state.

She said at the time when the rape happened, she was 16/17 and he was 26.

However, on sighting the comments made by Aminat, Mr. Mohammed went on his Twitter handle the next day, June 3, to deny the accusations.

He acknowledged that he had an affair with Aminat but said the accusation of rape was triggered due to the way their relationship ended.

However, when Aminat saw his rebuttal, she went on to share in detail what allegedly transpired between them.

She recounted how Mr Mohammed “raped her.”

Read her post which she shared on her Facebook page below

”I take a deep breath as I type this…

My name is Aminat Popoola and this is my story. I am aware that a lot of you have come across my rape allegations against Muhammed Ettu and you have been waiting to get the full story so here goes.

I met Muhammed in 2006 at 19 Feyintola Giwa street, Pako Aguda, Surulere Lagos while visiting a friend, I am sorry but John Glory maybe you will see this, it was the year we reconnected after graduating from high school. She was operating a small mobile phone business. He approached me and talked to me and then asked for my number. I didn’t have a phone at this time, so I collected his number. I never had the intention of calling but I took it anyway.

Fast forward to a year later, I went to visit this friend of mine again and that was how myself and Muhammed re-connected. By this time, my Dad had bought my first phone so we exchanged numbers. He seemed kind so I became at ease and this was how our friendship started. Yes you read right, friendship. I never saw us being more than that. He used to come to visit me in Ajegunle where I have lived my whole life, crack jokes and he would even go with me to the hair salon sometimes. Mohammed helped me to do my online jamb registration that year, he would buy me stuff, even give me money. So to me, this was a big brother little sister dynamic. I never saw him more than that.

Muhammed was persistent.

He would come to visit me in Ajegunle and I would visit him in Aguda where he told me he lived and never did he make any sexual advances towards me, so I got really comfortable around him.

I will go straight to why I am writing this.

One evening during our phone conversation, he urged me as usual to consider his proposal and for reasons I don’t know, I blurted out that he was too old for me. A ten year age gap was a lot for me at that time. I didn’t realize that I had hurt his feelings and I guess that he started plotting the rape from that moment.

One day, I went to visit him as usual, I had gone to this address (where he told me he lived) so It wasn’t weird that I went. Oh Amina, how naive.

I will like to state clearly that before the rape incident, we never had sexual intercourse, he is not my ex. We never were in a relationship contrary to the narrative he is pushing to make me out as a wounded ex. The only time he ever penetrated me was when he raped me and this is in fact true and we both know this.

I got there that afternoon, The building as I remember is a bungalow, it has a roof attached to the front of the building which created a shed. A wide passage, face me I face you. Muhammed’s apartment (as he told me) is a room self contain. Mattress on the floor, a small refrigerator. A pressing iron laid on the floor, plates, and utensils laid beside the fridge. Typical bachelor pad if we are to go by Nigerian traditional standards.

And this was how it happened,

As I came in we exchanged pleasantries as usual, I sat by the mattress. He jammed the door, and I said why are locking the door when there is no light. He didn’t respond. He started to undress and I said why are you undressing, what’s wrong with you?

Muhammed said, « shebi I am old abi? I will show you today ». I even laughed and said ahn ahn what are you saying ? Is this a joke or what? Please I don’t like this kind of joke o or I will leave. » I then stood up to try to leave by this time he had only boxer shorts on. Not only did he stop me from leaving, he started to land me heavy blows. I struggled and the more I struggled, the more blows he landed on me.

I screamed. I shouted. I struggled. At a point, i managed to grab the pressing Iron on the rug, and hit it on his head. He became so angry that he dealt me more blows. I was so helpless and powerless but I didn’t stop fighting, I was going to kill him if i could just so he would not penetrate me. My eyes went to the corner where the fridge was, I saw the kitchen utensils and that was when I saw a kitchen knife. I was struggling beneath him to get there, he followed my eyes and saw I was reaching for the knife, he became more furious and started to hit me. For a moment, I thought I would die.

By the time it was over, he got on his phone and started calling his friends to come and beg me. I strongly believe that they were his accomplices. He started to apologize and that it was a mistake.

I vividly remember that I arrived 19 Feyintola Giwa around mid-afternoon and by the time this whole ordeal was over it was maybe around 5/6 pm. Do the maths.

I couldn’t understand even at the time why he would dehumanize me like that and I was enveloped with shame. Understand that my shirt had been torn, my eyes red.
I was so ashamed that I decided I would bury this shame and act like it never happened. At the time, I didn’t tell anyone, my parents, my friends, not a soul.

As the years went by, I started to tell my friends one by one, at different times but never did I foresee that this day would come.

I walked around the house in pain all week, acting like nothing happened. I would lay in my bed in pain, crying. And whenever I heard Grandma or any of my aunties call Aminaaaa, I would act like my chest wasn’t painful, or that my shoulders weren’t in giving in to the aftermath of his fists, or that I didn’t feel dirty between my legs.

Muhammed in his typical I-am-such-a-saint fashion continued to beg me and to solicit that I be his girlfriend which I refused. On many occasions. I became convicted that my stance on not wanting to date him was not a mistake neither was it his right to violate me. I wasn’t ready to confront the latter. I just needed my mind to erase it like it never existed.

As you all already know, several years have gone by, he has tried to make contact with me severally but I just couldn’t bring myself to forgive him more or less give him audience. So I decided I would forget him completely maybe the hurt would go away.

I know some of you are thinking, so why now? Why are you speaking out now?

Last year, I messaged him on Facebook and I have shared the screenshots on my twitter accusing him of raping me, urging him to do the right thing. He refused to admit via chat and instead requested for my number which my fiancé urged me to give him. He called, in his words ahn ahn otipe now, ode gbagbe e. Oya mabinu now.

So i urged him to confess to his wife, his mother and all the women in his life, to admit what he did to me, to show remorse but what he tried to do was to manipulate me on the phone. I tried very hard to get him to say it but he kept deflecting and it became apparent that it was no mistake. Maybe i hurt his feelings, I didn’t deserve what he did to me.

I am speaking out because I grew up, I uprooted everything I had buried. I needed closure and knowing fully well that I wouldn’t get justice, I am doing this anyway. He did rape me. I am without doubt sure that he violently raped me.

I saw his post, I laughed. Because those who are in my Life know for a fact the person he described isn’t me.

I am not afraid, in the absence of evidence, I am sure you have doubts and that’s okay. Like every human, he has the right to debunk my allegations as he sees fit but what he doesn’t have the right to do is to compose a set of lies with the aim of deflecting and pushing the narrative the Nigerian audience likes best. The one that makes me out to be a scorned ex which I am not. The one that thinks in this day and age that Women still aspire to marriage or become empty in the absence of one. The one that is trying albeit weakly to make me out to be hopeless and out for blood.

I then decided that I will not be silenced and in all of this The Black Diamonds Support Foundation has been my support system. They have allowed me to share my story, They have created a safe place to speak my truth without fear and I will always be grateful.

One day, I know that one day, my country will get it right.

I would like to thank my darling partner Clovis, for pushing me. For saying to me « baby, you have to let out all the pain. You have to let it go. ». To all the people I met in France who made understand beyond reasonable doubt that my truth will set me free, I am grateful.

I know that someday my baby girl will see this and she will understand our daily talk about consent and speaking to me about anything no matter how shameful it may seem. It will sense to you Olami and you will be proud of me.

To all rape victims out there who haven’t found their voices, you will find it. Don’t be afraid. Remember there’s three sides to every story, my side, your side and THE TRUTH. The truth always prevail.

But this is my story. My name is Amina and Muhammed Ettu did rape me. I know it. He knows it and my story will never change as I am ready for what comes after.

Thanks for reading” she wrote.

Banker dives into glass as stunt goes wrong while celebrating his 30th birthday

This is the shocking moment a man leaps through a glass swimming pool panel in a stunt gone wrong at his boozy 30th birthday bash.

Dimitry Prigorodov hurled himself through a window last week, hoping to dive straight into a swimming pool below.

But the banker from Moscow did not jump far enough and crashed into the glass and metal barrier surrounding the pool.

He is seen diving head first out of the window aiming for the swimming pool below.

After colliding with the glass panel Dimitry then fell into the swimming pool.

Dimitry said: ’It was my birthday and I rented a cottage to celebrate my anniversary.

‘We were celebrating and drinking alcohol.

‘It seemed to us that we could try and jump in principle.'

Unfortunately his stunt did not go as planned and Dimity suffered torn ligaments a bruised chest and has since had two operations to heal his injured hands and legs.

His left arm and leg have stopped working.

Despite his injuries, Dimitry posted the clip on his social media and says he does not regret his misjudged jump because the footage became popular among his friends.

Although the cottage where the stunt took place was rented, Dimitry did not have to pay for the damage he caused by hitting the glass panel as the rental contract had not been drafted correctly.

Norwegian princess says dating a black man has opened her eyes to racism and white supremacy

Norway's Princess Märtha Louise said being in a relationship with a black man has given her a 'crash course in white supremacy' after witnessing how he is treated.

The princess, 48, said that before she began dating self-described shaman Durek Verrett, 45, in May 2019, she did not realise how widespread racism is.

She wrote in an Instagram post: 'Being @shamandurek 's girlfriend has given me a crash course in how white supremacy is at play and the way I have consciously and subconsciously thought of and acted towards black people.

'It is in the details (which I had no idea still existed).'

The princess added that since she and Verrett began dating, she noticed that many of her friends instantly distrusted him.

'It is in the way people shy away from Durek. How friends assume he lies about everything,' she wrote.

'That he is evil for being kind. The words muttered under their breath, making it perfectly clear to him that he does not have a natural place at the table.

'The press presents him as a liar, being violent and a threat to my family and myself, sharing scrupulously his X's [ex's] story without checking facts, because it supports the belief system already in place about him. THAT IS RACISM!'

The mother-of-three went on to say in the post to her 98,000 followers that she has taken her 'rights for granted' and never properly examined 'what racism really is.'

'I am not proud of it, but I realize I need to grow into understanding this deeply rooted system to be able to be part of the dismantling of it,' she wrote.

'I, as a white person, need to grow, educate myself and become better and move from being against racism to being anti-racist.'

The post comes just four days after the princess shared a lengthy emotional Instagram post about the death of black man George Floyd.

He died after white police officer Derek Chauvin pinned him to the ground by kneeling on his neck last month.

Alongside an image of a protester, the Norwegian royal wrote: 'It grieves me so deeply that we as a human race has not developed past killing each other, bringing someone else down, hurting each other because of our own insecurities....Stop this inhumanity #BlackLivesMatter'.

She added: 'Stop!!! It has been going on for too long; the killing of innocent men and women!

'Who are these Monsters of Distorted Believes thinking they have the right to kill someone just because a different pigment of their skin?'

She continued: 'When will we wake up to see that we are part of the same creation? That we are all the same? When will we wake up to see we trust and love each other, because that is what we are here on earth to do.

'How many more men and women will die, get hurt, get bullied, get threatened, before anything changes?'

Ukrainian teacher is arrested for murder after camera shows suffocating a 1-year old with a pillow

A nursery school teacher tied a pillow to the face of a one year old girl - 'causing her to die from suffocation and vomiting'.

Irina Sukhanova, 51, has been detained by police in Zaporizhia, south-eastern Ukraine, on suspicion of murder, according to law enforcement officials.

The carer wanted to stop the girl, named Alesya, from crying on her first trial day at the private nursery - after she was bitten by another child.

A horrific CCTV video shows her tying the pillow over the baby's face before trying to get her to sleep.

The terrified girl suffocated from her own vomit because her face was covered, say police.

She died from 'gastric obstruction of the respiratory tract'.

Instead of urgently calling an ambulance, Sukhanova is accused of seeking to wipe the CCTV records.

Police later restored the video evidence, it was reported.

At an extraordinary court room confrontation during Sukhanova's custody hearing the teacher is seen denying to Alesya's grief-stricken parents that she murdered the helpless girl.

'I did not kill your child,' she said in the showdown.

Father Eduard Gak, 24, asked in disbelief: 'Did not kill? I saw how you did not kill.'

The teacher replied: 'You will understand…'

Gak told her: 'Shut your mouth.'

The girl's mother Alina, 23, said: 'It was just the first trial visit to the nursery.

'By phone she [Irina] assured me everything was good, and to look at testimonials about her.

'We really checked them.'

She said: 'How could she put the child asleep like this when she was vomiting?'

Her husband said: 'My wife came home at about 10 am…, and suddenly got a call saying "Your child is not breathing".'

He then rushed to the nursery and attempted artificial respiration on his daughter, to no avail, and then called an ambulance.

'She was only slightly warm,' he said.

'It doesn't fit into my head what happened. Can you imagine what I saw?

'I cannot explain my emotions when I saw this. I can't find the words.

'My only one wish is to do the same to her, to take this pillow and... I can't say it another way.'

Sukhanova claimed: 'It was a special bolster for the child, so if she falls, she would not injure her neck. It was only to protect the child, nothing more.'

She was detained on suspicion of murder and is also under investigation for running an illegal nursery.

Lawyer for the parents Teymur Mamedov said: 'Before the arrival of detectives, she removed the surveillance camera recordings from the hard drives, and hid the (pillow).

'She undressed the child and tried to hide other traces of the crime.'

Senior police officer Oleh Hryhorov said: 'The seized video and investigations prove the involvement of the owner of an illegal nursery school in the commission of a particularly serious intentional crime.....murder of a minor.'

A full-scale criminal investigation is now underway into the incident on 29 May.
