Lmao, WHERE IS THE LIE? Convener of pro-democracy group, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju has explained why he can't run for office in Nigeria, except things change. The activists, explained it is all about money in Nigeria and not what you have up there, and voters are more interested in the cash you have to offer.

''When I hear people advise me to run for political office, all I do is laugh. Do I have 100 or N200m to waste? In Nigeria, the grassroot does not want to hear big grammar or bright ideas. All they want is money -Party agents, etc. We are not ready and we have too many issues in Flag of Nigeria''

Spanish royals including the King & Queen observe one minute silence in honor of country's 27,134 coronavirus victims

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain observed a minutes silence for the country's Covid-19 victims on the last day of the country's mourning period.

The Spanish royalty were visiting the Coslada Transport Center in Madrid when they payed their respects to those who have died from the coronavirus.

Spain has been one of the hardest hit nations in Europe with 27,134 coronavirus-related deaths reported and the country went into a 10-day mourning period on Wednesday last week.

The country has announced zero new deaths from the disease for the second day running as lockdown restrictions are set to be eased next week.

Lockdown restrictions in the hard-hit cities of Madrid and Barcelona will be eased further, Spanish health minister Salvador Illa told a news conference.

Customers will be allowed to eat and drink inside bars and restaurants rather than just on outdoor terraces and children will be able to play outside at any time of day from Monday.

Queen Letizia wore an all-black ensemble while mourning the country's victims and her husband wore a black tie.

Both of the Royals donned personal-protective equipment (PPE) face masks while walking around the Transport Center, as did staff.

Angry wife baths husband with hot water over domestic issues

One Mr Oyinkro Miebode, a middle-aged man, was having a sound sleep in his sitting room along INEC Road in Kpansia area of Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State in the morning of June 3rd, 2020, when his wife poured hot water on him over domestic issues, inflicting him with severe skin burns.

According to Oyinkri who spoke to TribuneOnline, trouble started on the evening of June 2nd, 2020, when he slapped her for raining insults on him because he came too early to meet her somewhere in town to pick up her mobile phone.

Explaining further, he said she called him from her office to meet her somewhere to pick up her phone by 8 pm for security purposes because she would be coming home late that evening but that when he closed from work about 6 pm, his boss dropped him off at the exact location she had asked him to meet her.

He said while hanging around until it is 8 pm, he suddenly saw his wife walking pass him about 7 pm, so he ran to her to notify her of his presence but instead she got angry that he came to early than they agreed.

He said “in shock, I then asked why is she angry that I came early. I also asked her why she didn’t tell me she would be coming early as well. That was when she started accusing me of monitoring her. She insulted me till we got home. I thought that we could settle the matter at home but it was hell.

“So out of anger, I gave her two warning slap and instructed her to go to the bedroom and sleep. At that point, a friend called me to come to his place for a private birthday party, and unfortunately, I came back home at about 1 am. So I was sleeping on the sofa in my living room when suddenly she bathed me with hot water.”

According to one of his siblings that resides with them “they had a quarrel in the morning of the June 3rd over domestic issues because she has been acting up lately. So on that day she kept nagging and insulting him over the matter to a point he couldn’t bear that he got angry and slapped her telling her to keep quiet, which she did, thinking the quarrel was over.

“After everything, he left and went to sleep, later she went to his sister asking her if there was kerosene in the stove. The sister told her that there was no kerosene. So she went out and bought kerosene to fill the Stove. Meanwhile, I thought it she boiled the water for bathing or to bake garri. I even notified her when the water started boiling.

“She then poured the boiling water into a small basin and went to the living room while he was sleeping then poured it on him. Waking up from that shock he was shouting in pains and scratching his body not knowing he was peeling his own skin.”

Nigerian Doctors Declare Nationwide Strike June 15 Amid COVID-19

The National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria will commence a nationwide strike on Monday, June 15, 2020.

Dr Aliyu Sokomba, National President of NARD, said this in an official letter. He said the association found it necessary to take “the painful decision” following the inability of the government to meet its demands.

He said, “Consequent upon the 14 days ultimatum duly served the Federal Government for indefinite strike action, in accordance with the resolution of the Ordinary General Meeting of the Association on the 29th of May 2020, we hereby notify you that all resident doctors, medical officers below the rank of Principal Medical Officer (PMO) and House Officers across all the Federal and State hospitals in Nigeria, shall be embarking on a total and indefinite strike action effective 12:01am on Monday, 15th June 2020.

“It is important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of the patients as the strike shall be total and indefinite. No service of any kind, be it emergency, care at COVID-19 isolation and treatment centres shall be exempted. We sympathize with the patients and Nigerian populace.

“For purpose of clarity, the demands on which the ultimatum was predicated include the following; Provision of grossly inadequate appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for all healthcare workers, Immediate reversal of the illegal disengagement of all 26 resident doctors in Jos University Teaching Hospital, and the payment of all salaries owed them, in keeping with provisions of the Medical Residency Training Act.

“Universal Implementation of the Medical Residency Training Act in all federal and state hospitals and ensuring pay parity among doctors of equal cadre.

“Immediate implementation of the revised hazard allowance and payment of the COVID-19 inducement allowance as agreed with by the Federal Government and healthcare workers three months ago.

“Provision of funding for Medical Residency Training in the 2021 Appropriation bill. Payment of all arrears owed our members in federal and states tertiary health institutions, arising from the consequential adjustment of the National minimum wage.

“Stoppage and immediate refund of all illegal, unjust and callous cut in salaries of our members by Kaduna State and other state governments.”

Raheem Sterling Says "The Only Disease Right Now Is Racism" As UK Protests

England and Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has backed protests taking place across the UK, saying "the only disease right now is the racism that we are fighting".

Thousands of people have taken part in Black Lives Matter marches in the UK, despite government warnings to avoid mass gatherings because of the threat of coronavirus.

"This is the most important thing at this moment in time because this is something that is happening for years and years," Sterling, 25, said.

Large protests have been held in London, Bristol, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh following the death of American George Floyd.

Floyd, 46, died while being arrested on 25 May in Minneapolis. The four officers involved have since been charged over the death, which sparked days of protest in the US and demonstrations across the world.

Speaking to the BBC's Newsnight programme, Sterling said: "Just like the pandemic, we want to find a solution to stop it.

"At the same time, this is what all these protesters are doing. They are trying to find a solution and a way to stop the injustice they are seeing and they are fighting for their cause.

"As long as they are doing it peacefully and safely and not hurting anybody and not breaking into any stores, they continue to protest in this peaceful way."

Many sports people have spoken out in protest over Floyd's death, with Sterling's England team-mate Jadon Sancho making on-pitch statements in Germany's Bundesliga.

Sterling, whose City side return to Premier League action on 17 June, has previously spoken of racist abuse he has suffered and the media's portrayal of black players.

Asked whether speaking out makes his job as a footballer harder, he said: "First and foremost, I don't really think about my job when things like this happen. I think about what is right.

"And at this moment in time, there's only so much people can take. There's only so much communities and other backgrounds can take - especially black people.

"It's been going on for hundreds of years and people are tired and people are ready for change.

"I keep saying this word. I see a lot of people on social [media], supporting the cause. But this is something that needs more than just talking.

"We need to actually implement change and highlight the places that do need changes.

"But this is something that I myself will continue to do, and spark these debates and get people in my industry looking at themselves and thinking what they can do to give people an equal chance in this country.

"Hopefully other industries can do that, and everyday society and the system as well."

23-year old accidentally amputates his hand while making bomb to 'blow up hot cheerleaders'

A man accidentally amputated his own hand while making an explosive device which could have been designed with the aim to kill "hot" cheerleaders, the FBI claims.

Cole Carini, 23, arrived at hospital on June 2 with a missing hand, shrapnel wounds on his neck and throat, and fingers missing on his other hand.

He claimed the injuries were the result of a lawn mowing accident, but a police officer became suspicious after learning Carini had previously been convicted on explosive charges.

Police soon obtained a warrant to search Carini’s home in Richlands, Virginia, US, and called the FBI, who discovered drops of blood leading from a minivan outside the residence to a bedroom.

During the search, investigators found a "piece of human skin" and a "skin colour chunk believed to be flesh," an arrest affidavit claims.

The affidavit also claims the FBI discovered a plastic bottle containing Triacetone Triperoxide - a substance used in the creation of improvised explosive devices.

Cops also observed substantial blood spatter on the walls of the second floor bedroom.

Investigators also searched a shed on a neighbouring property belonging to Carini's grandmother.

Officers found PVC pipes, pieces of loose wires, empty chemical containers and a hot plate cooking surface, the affidavit claims.

On the floor of the shed, cops found a "crumpled letter," which read: "He casually walked through the shopping mall, his jacket concealed deadly objects.

"He was doing it and was assured it must be done. Even if he died this statement was worth it!

"He had... of tension that would come and go as he approached the stage of hot cheerleaders.

"A dead seriousness sank in as he realised he was truly passing the point of no return.

"He decided I will not back down I will not be afraid of the consequences no matter what I will be heroic I will make a statement like Elliott Rodgers did he thought to himself."

Elliot Roger was a mass shooter who killed six people and injured 14 others during a rampage in Santa Barbara in 2014.

Roger described himself as a "kissless virgin" in a manifesto penned before his death, and said he wanted to take his anger out on women.

He was dubbed an "incel or involuntarily celibate killer", and according to the Daily Beast.

Incel violence has been linked to at least 53 killings in recent years.

The FBI questioned Carini about his injuries and repeatedly told them they were the product of a lawn mower accident.

While searching the property, investigators noticed the grass in his yard was around six inches high, and arrested Carini on Tuesday.

He was charged with one count of lying to federal agents and is due to appear in court in the coming days.

Billionaire prince of Monaco says his life of lavish luxury can be unpleasant sometimes

Billionaire Prince Albert is the ruler of Monaco – one of the most glamorous, and wealthiest, countries on Earth.

The sovereign Prince of Monaco, Albert, has a personal fortune estimated at more than $1billion.

Prince Albert has access to a life of luxury, with hotels, casinos, and supermodels, but he laments Royal life, complaining there is "not enough room for spontaneous activities and spontaneity has to be scheduled".

He has waived his right to privacy to film a behind-the-scenes BBC series, The Times reports.

Paparazzi are usually banned in Monaco to protect its VIP residents but director Michael Waldman was given backstage access to the royal palace, luxury hotels, casinos and the F1 Grand Prix.

Viewers are given a tour of a new £35,000-a-night penthouse at the Monaco's Hôtel de Paris, and are shown around luxury yachts.

His aim is to draw younger, wealthier, people to Monaco, a city with a notoriously rich, and ageing population.

Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, one of the Prince’s friends has even explored the idea of their own Influencer Awards.

It is a new event aimed at luring jet-set YouTubers and Instagrammers to promote the charms of the Côte d’Azur to their social media followers.

Prince Albert was dubbed a playboy prince in his youth, fathering two children before marrying Princess Charlene in 2011.

He is calmer now, and told Mr Waldman on days where there are meetings he'd rather not be attending, he thinks of what will come after.

Prince Albert said: "I can’t say that every day is wonderful bliss and enjoyment. It’s not easy for anybody in a position of responsibility.

"There are some very unpleasant meetings.

"I try to think what nice things will come after my meetings are over, having a nice glass of wine."

He also said he fondly remembers his mother, Grace Kelly, the Hollywood actress who became Princess of Monaco, as "more tolerant" than his father.

Kelly died in a car crash in 1982, and his father, Rainier III , who did not remarry, in 2005.

Prince Albert said: "It’s just incredible that so many years after her passing she still very much has a vivid presence in a lot of people’s minds and hearts.

"We did behave when we knew that he was watching. He had ways of raising his voice that was impressive for a six, seven, eight, nine or ten-year-old. Even at 21."

Uti’s r.a.p.e accuser deletes her twitter account, he reacts

Kambili Korie, the lady who accused Uti Nwachukwu of r*ping her, has deleted her Twitter account – with which she raised the allegation.

Her action came after Uti petitioned the police and demanded a full-scale investigation into the r.a.p.e allegation.

Kamnili Kore had taken to Twitter to allege that Uti r.a.p.e.d her in August 2017.

She went further by sharing a screenshot of a message from a user saved with the name “Uti 2” apologizing for forcefully having his way with her.

However, a recent check showed that the Twitter user’s account has now been deleted.

Reacting to the latest development, Uti said he will still be going forward with the investigation into the r.a.p.e allegations.

Uti’s words on his IG page;

''I didn’t want to be speaking these unfortunate allegations again, but it’s also important that I update you all on recent developments.

My accuser- whose account was created only recently to accuse me of this horrendous crime, has been deleted before investigators could identify her.

This is unfortunate because it doesn’t fully exonerate me from the accusation the way the courts would have done; I REALLY needed the opportunity to prove my innocence and this culprit face the full penalties.

However, I am still going to continue to work and cooperate with the police to get to the bottom of this.

Victims of sexual abuse need to be heard and believed, and it’s why I will continue to pursue this to prevent anyone else from making it even harder from victims to speak out.

Thank you all for your messages and show of support; it’s been a difficult period, but I appreciate how so many of you who know me, have stood by me.''

Family-of-five killed in plane crash on way to funeral

A family of five including two young children were among those killed in a plane crash while on their way to a funeral.

The Lamont family and their pilot perished after the aircraft they were travelling in exploded mid-flight about 100 miles from Atlanta, Georgia.

Witness Tracy Carter described seeing it circling before catching fire, reports The Union Recorder.

Parts of the wreckage landed in a field while the bulk came to a stop in a wooded area where it was extinguished - though no-one aboard survived.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills identified the victims as pilot Larry Ray Pruitt, 67, of Morriston, Florida; Shawn Charles Lamont, 41, of Gainesville, Florida; his wife Jody Rae Lamont, 43; and their two children, Jayce, 6, and Alice, 4.

The Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed the Piper PA31-T Cheyenne twin-engine turbo prop plane was flying from Williston, Florida, to Newcastle, Indiana.

A National Transportation Safety Board spokesman said pilot Larry Pruitt had radioed air traffic controllers about deviating around troublesome weather conditions and also enquired about re-routing.

While Williston Airport manager Benton Stegall said Mr Pruitt had called about getting a fuel top up.

Also a friend of the tragic pilot, Mr Stegall told The Gainesville Sun: "Larry always had a smile on his face and would crack a joke for anyone that needed it."

Former colleague Shawn Lamont runs J & S Trailer Service, Inc, and a Facebook post from the company announced the news "with a very heavy heart".

"We have lost a very special family...May they all Rest In Peace," it added.

Priest 'pressured' into conducting lockdown wedding at church for young couple

A wedding was held at a church during lockdown after the priest was "pressured into it", an archbishop claims.

Wedding ceremonies and christenings have been banned in Wales since the lockdown began in March.

However, Archbishop of Cardiff George Stack said Father Sebastian Jones was put "under a lot of pressure" to perform a banned service to which he "caved in".

A young couple were married at St Alban-on-the-Moors in Splott, Cardiff, on Tuesday, May 12, with pictures emerging on Facebook, Wales Online reports.

Archbishop Stack said he said he is "shocked and upset" that the incident occurred and the matter is under investigation by the church.

Pictures posted on Facebook show at least 10 people including children posing for photographs in what appears to be a church.

A priest can be seen standing between a young couple while witnesses surround them.

The same social media account had also posted a number of Facebook Live videos on the same day of what appears to be a gathering of people dressed in wedding attire.

Several people in the videos can be heard offering congratulations and dancing to loud music.

One man is heard saying: "Congratulations to my nephew" while another man says: "What a f***ing party. We do it our own sort of style anyway so. Coronavirus. F*** the coronavirus. It won't stop us having a party."

On May 12 people in Wales were only allowed to leave their home to shop for basic necessities, for exercise on their own or with members of their household, for a medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person, and to travel to and from work where it was necessary and could not be done from home.

If people did leave home they were told to remain two metres apart from anyone outside their household – guidance which remains in place now.

All social events including weddings, baptisms, and other ceremonies, except for funerals, were stopped.

Archbishop Stack said Catholic churches within all 22 dioceses of England and Wales were directed to close and not to carry out wedding services in line with UK and Welsh Government guidance.

But he confirmed a wedding service did take place at St Alban-on-the-Moors without his prior knowledge in contravention of measures designed to protect public health.

"The parents of the family insisted that it take place immediately," Archbishop Stack said. "They went to the priest and he caved in.

"When I say he was pressured, he felt pressured. He was concerned. Worried about the girl's health and safety.

"Now I know it has happened I'm very shocked and upset.

"I share, in a way, the priest's dilemma but it was not the right thing to do, to succumb to that pressure."

Archbishop Stack said he had spoken with the priest and the matter was being investigated by the church.

"I think it could be a disciplinary matter but the priest would put forward his defence of course," he said.

"Whether his defence was: 'I was under extreme pressure' or 'I was worried about the health and wellbeing of this girl'."

Two sets of triplets marry each other in Enugu State [photos]

Two sets of triplets over the weekend married each other in Ngwo, Enugu state.

Their families, friends and well wishers all attended the wedding which had only one wedding cake – which shows unity.

The triplet brothers are said to be Chinedu, Chukwuebuka and Kenechukwu, while the females are Dumalu, Okwuoma and Chinwe.

Their photos shared on the internet however met with mixed reactions with some wondering if they are actually all in love, as others congratulated them.

One social media user wrote; “I hope the 3 pairs love each other not because of by force matching. Besides, I thought it’s a taboo for 2 brothers to marry from same family in Igbo land, let alone 3 brothers. Congrats ndi Ngwo”

Another said; “How did each one of them fell in love and got attracted to the other. Or is because they are triplet and they found it amazing to get married to each other . Just a question tho”

Watch the shocking moment police shoot armed robbery suspect 20 times in the back as he made to run away

A 22-year-old man suspected of armed robbery at a Salt Lake City strip club was fatally shot by cops last month while he was running away from officers who fired at least 20 rounds at him, body camera footage just released shows.

Bernardo Palacios-Carbajal, 22, was shot and killed May 23 after police who were responding to a call of a gun threat chased him when he ran from a motel.

Officers said a weapon was found near him after he was shot.

The two officers who fired their weapons have been put on administrative leave, which is standard practice for a police shooting.

The case is still under investigation.

According to police, an armed robbery was reported just before 2am at the Trails Gentlemen's Club in Salt Lake City.

'The victim went toward the dumpsters on the east side of the parking lot ... when he was approached by two males whom he had seen inside the club earlier on in the night,' according to the police watch log.

'Both males had guns and told the victim to empty out his pockets. Once they took his money and wallet, the victim fled the scene.'

The victim, who just revealed his first name, Alvaro, alleged that Palacios, was one of the men who robbed him at gunpoint.

The Salt Lake City Police Department released three videos from body cameras worn by officers who were on scene.

The video showed Palacios running away from the officers at the Utah Village Motel just after 2am.

Capt. Richard Lewis said the officers chased him and yelled at him 17 times to either 'stop,' 'show me your hands,' or 'drop it,' referring to a gun, the Deseret News reported.

The footage shows Palacios trip and fall several times before getting up and continuing to run.

He then picks up something from the ground and continues running before two officers begin shooting.

After Palacios-Carbajal is shot in the back and falls to the ground, officers continue shouting at him to show his hands, footage shows.

Based on the body camera footage, it does not appear that Palacios pointed a gun at the officers involved.

Creative Nigerian Builds Solar-powered Tricycle In 21 Days (Photos)

Anthony Obinna Okafor is one of the many Nigerians who are not letting the challenges in the country deter them from pursuing their passion.

A graduate of Mechanical/Production Engineering, Okafor who studied at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, wants to be known as Elon Musk of Africa. "I want to be known as the man spearheading electric cars in Africa like Elon Musk is doing with his brand Tesla," he said.

His latest innovation is a solar-powered tricycle which he unveiled recently in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. In a recent interview with Vanguard, Okafor disclosed that it took about three weeks to complete the solar-powered tricycle, popularly called Keke.

According to him, this was due to limited working tools and machines. He said he was supported by Ebonyi State Vocation College, noting that it wasn’t easy getting to the finished product with the greatest challenge being capital funding. Okafor admitted that materials like the electric motor, axle and controllers with few other accessories were imported. He, however, noted that such materials can be fabricated in Nigeria by him if he gets the necessary funding to commercialize this project.
