Woman accuses hospital of switching her newborn baby with a dead one

A family in Nakuru’s Section 58 Estate has called for an investigation, accusing Nakuru Level Five Hospital of switching their newborn baby with a dead one.

Alice Ochuka said that she delivered a bouncing baby boy at the hospital through Caesarean section but after two days of breastfeeding the baby, the hospital informed her he had died.

Hospital documents that were given to Ochuka, however, do not match her description of the baby she delivered.

She said the hospital documents purported that her baby died during birth.

Further, the documents allegedly given to her including the file number do not tally with the file containing the dead baby that was registered under a different name, John Ng’ang’a.

She said her journey to the hospital started while at Bondeni dispensary on May 21, after her blood pressure shot up leading to her transfer to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital.

The woman said that she delivered her baby on May 29, and that the child was fine and even the nurses complimented her for the healthy-looking boy.

Two days later, as was her routine to the nursery to breastfeed the baby, Ochuka said that she found nurses at the entrance where they accused her of taking off her baby’s wrist tag.

She said that the nurses on duty demanded that she produce the name tag since the baby could not be accounted for.

After a few minutes of search, they broke to her the news that her baby had died under unclear circumstances.

Amidst the confusion, Ochuka said the nurses persuaded her to sign forms that indicated that the baby was dead and that she had confirmed the death having been brought a body of a child as evidence.

However, she said the body of the child given to her had a birthmark on the face whereas her child did not have any visible birthmark.

Now she wants investigations launched into the conduct of the nurses at the nursery.

It was the woman’s aunt, Lilian Adhiambo, who noted the anomaly in the identification of the dead baby.

Adhiambo said that she had gone to pay Sh2,000 for the disposal of the body when she noticed that the baby had been registered as John Ng’ang’a.

She said there was a tense moment as the in-charge of accounts was verifying the hospital documents, insisting to know how she was related to the said John Ng’ang’a.

But the hospital superintendent, Joseph Mburu, admitted that there was a mistake made in the birth notification document indicating that the baby was born dead.

Dr. Mburu said that the boy was born alive and taken to the nursery but promised an investigation despite the body having been disposed of.

The hospital administrator told the woman on Monday to take the documents to his office for further investigations.

Russian chefs stage n.a.k.e.d protest after coronavirus lockdown leaves them broke

Russian chefs have taken part in an extraordinary n.a.k.e.d lockdown protest after coronavirus closed their restaurants.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a national lockdown on March 28 – with the capital Moscow following suit a couple of days later.

The measure undoubtedly saved lives, but it also stripped restaurant owners of their income.

Now hundreds of bar, restaurant and cafe employees have staged a cheeky protest urging the president to ease the lockdown.

They have posted photographs of themselves n.a..k.e.d with carefully positioned plates, cups, saucepans, bottles, bar stools and napkin holders.

Their demand is for authorities to allow them to start serving clients as the country gradually eases measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

"We are n.a.k.e.d because we are left with nothing," said Arthur Galaychyuk, owner of the Relab Family bar chain in the city of Kazan, whose 20 employees took part in the campaign.

Restaurants in Kazan will be allowed to open their summer terraces on June 11 after more than two months of lockdown.

"We don't want to stage a strip show or to fool around, we only want one thing – to work," said Pavel, a chef from the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, in a post with a group picture of his colleagues wearing only masks and holding kitchenware.

"We don't pose more of a risk then supermarkets, shopping malls, hair salons or public transport," Pavel's post said.

Authorities in Novosibirsk have not yet announced when local restaurants can open.

27-year old woman who is getting divorced from her 76-year old husband is getting surgeries to be a s.e.x icon

A self-confessed “blonde bimbo” forked a whopping £60,000 on her mission to look like a s.e.x doll.

Sapphire Saint has gone under the knife for three boob jobs, liposuction, a nose job, eye lift, filters and Botox.

The 27-year-old, from LA, California, said her look is partly paid for by cash from her 76-year-old former sugar daddy, who is now her ex-husband.

Thanks to her partner, Sapphire has been able to enlarge her boobs from an A cup to a H, while the procedures on her face are to keep her skin looking baby smooth.

And her plastic surgery obsession has attracted a lot of followers online who adore her as much as her family and friends.

Sapphire said: “My first surgery was paid for by my sugar daddy who wanted me to have a fake look, but now I self-finance because I earn more.

“He and I got married but we are currently in the middle of a divorce. He helped me get out of a bad financial situation but I didn’t have much in common with him because he’s 76 years old.

“I’ve wanted to be a s*x doll for my entire adult life. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a s*x icon and lusted after.

“I would dream about having a sugar daddy and living in Hollywood. I met some people that were into ‘bimbofication’ and I finally understood what was turning me on.

“So far, I’ve had three breast surgeries, a nose job, and an eye job, liposuction in my cheeks – as well as filler and Botox.

“Before my breasts were an A cup but now, I’m a busty 30H and I plan on going bigger. I have what are called ‘expanders’ which means I can fill them up by 250cc each month."

Sapphire has daily hypnosis sessions which form part of her four-hour routine she goes through to get ready for the day.

Iran to execute spy convicted of helping US kill Soleimani

An Iranian national convicted of spying for the US and Israel by helping target top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani will be executed, Iran's judiciary said on Tuesday.

Mahmoud Mousavi Majd was convicted of spying on Iran's armed forces, which led to the killing of Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Quds Force, in a US drone strike in Iraq.

Mahmoud Mousavi Majd was convicted of spying on Iran's armed forces "especially the Quds Force and on the whereabouts and movements of martyr General Qassem Soleimani" for large sums of money from both Israel's Mossad and the CIA, judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili told a televised news conference.

Esmaili offered little information about the convicted man.

The decision immediately raised questions about how Majd would have had access to Soleimani's travel information. The Iranian judiciary spokesman did not say when Majd would be executed, other than that it would be “soon".

He also stopped short of directly linking the information allegedly offered by Majd to Soleimani's death.

Only God will reward Abacha for transforming Nigeria - Former aide, Hamza Al-Mustapha

Hamza Al-Mustapha has said only God will reward Sani Abacha, a former military ruler who died in 1998, for transforming Nigeria.

Marking the 22nd anniversary of the death of Abacha on Monday, Al-Mustapha who served as chief security officer to the late dictator said his death is a big loss to the nation, and what he did for Nigeria will “not be forgotten in the annals of history and generations yet unborn”.

According to him, the late Abacha found only $200 million in the country’s foreign reserve when he took over power, and before he died, he was able to stabilise the economy and had saved over $900 billion in the reserve.

He said during the Abacha regime, the dollar was sold at N85 and there was no inflation despite all the problems and challenges confronting the country.

“Only God will reward General Sani Abacha for the laudable initiative he made in transforming the country to an enviable height,” he said.

The late ruler’s regime was characterised by human rights violations, and years after his death, Nigeria has continued to recover monies he looted and stashed away in different banks outside of the country.

Al-Mustapha, however, said his late boss is deliberately being attacked by some disgruntled elements who always portray his bad side to the public and hiding the good sides.

He also said since the demise of Abacha, one of the things that had left him unhappy was how former President Olusegun Obasanjo ceded Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon.

He said he was aware of the conspiracy involved by some Nigerians who conspired with foreign forces to deprive Nigeria of the oil rich Bakassi Peninsula.

“I participated in the war for good two years in Bakassi. I am quite aware of the quantum of crude oil deposit laying there especially the amount of crude oil deposit in Bakassi which is by far more than what obtained in present day Nigeria,” he said.

A dog owner has been jailed after her American bulldog mauled a nine-year-old boy to death in a caravan.

Frankie Macritchie died after he was attacked by the American bulldog Staffordshire cross owned by Sadie Totterdell, 29.

She was staying at the Tencreek Holiday Park in Looe in Cornwall and invited the boy's mum, Tawnee Willis, 31.

Frankie was left alone in a caravan with Winston, who had previously bitten another child, on April 13 last year, Truro Crown Court heard.

Totterdell and Frankie's mum were at a drug-fuelled party in a different caravan.

During the night, the dog – which has since been put down – attacked the child as he slept and bit him 54 times.

Totterdell pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court to being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in the death. She was jailed for three years.

His mother was jailed for two years after admitting neglecting a young person, causing unnecessary suffering/injury.

A postmortem revealed that Frankie had 54 bites, mainly on his face, neck, and chest.

A portion of his scalp tissue had been torn off and one of his ears was hanging on by a thread.

The police in Imo State have arrested Victoria Joseph, 28, and Joy Ugorji, 33, for allegedly stealing a two-year-old boy from Rivers State.

The victim is a nephew of one of the suspects, Joseph.

Parading the suspects on Tuesday, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, said they stole the child from Kakuano, Rivers State, and came to Imo to sell him.

The CP said operatives of the Anti-Vice Unit of the command intercepted the suspects and recovered the baby during a stop-and-search.

2 Lagos housemaids defile employer’s daughters with fingers, sticks

Two Lagos housemaids, probably from hell, were docked at the Igbosere Magistrates’ court on Tuesday, charged with defiling their employer’s daughters.

The s.e.xual assault was done with their fingers and wooden sticks, causing their victims severe injuries.

The maids, from Benue state, were identified as Peace Sunday, aged 19 and Bose Augustine aged 18.

Their pleas were not taken, when the case was mentioned in court yesterday.

They were charged with three counts of unlawful and indecent penetration s.e.x.ually into the virginal and anus of two girls, a two-year-old and a 17 year-old, with fingers and wooden sticks.

The presiding Magistrate in charge of emergency cases at the court, Mrs Doja Ojo, ordered that the accused persons be temporarily remanded at the police station pending the advice from the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution, ( DPP).

The maids were arrested by the Police at the Ilasan Division, Lekki, following the complaints of the parents of the
their two victims.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP Onyinye Onwua Meagbu immediately directed her team at the juvenile and women section, led by Inspector Orukoton Lonikola, to investigate the matter.

The investigation led to the charge at Igbosere Magistrates’ Court .

Police Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Peace Chukwudi told the court in charge No C/52Q/2020 that the accused persons committed the offence between 24 and 27 May, 2020 at Lekki Garden Horizon 2 Estate, Lekki, where they work and live with the two complainants.

Chukwudi informed the court that the parents of the victims reported to the Police that they left their daughters aged 2 and 17 in the care of the accused persons and went to work.

Before they returned their maids allegedly defiled their daughters with fingers and wooden stick and in the process inflicted severe injuries on their private parts .

Chwkwudi said that following the report, the Police referred the victims to Mirabel Medical Centre for examination.

The medical report, she said, revealed that the accused persons had defiled the victims several times with fingers and wooden sticks.

She said the offences the accused persons committed were punishable under sections 411 and 261 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate Doja Ojo adjourned the case till 4 July 2020 for the DPP reports.

Ronaldinho opens up on house arrest in Paraguay

Brazil and Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho has opened up on his ‘sixty long days’ as he remains under house arrest in Paraguay for allegedly using a fake passport to enter South American country.

The 40-year-old and his brother Roberto were arrested in March after police found passports bearing their names with Paraguayan nationality despite having their Brazilian passports confiscated in 2018.

They spent 32 days in prison before they were released from jail in April and then transferred to a luxury hotel where they kept them under house arrest.

Ronaldinho, who reportedly paid a £1.3million bond for himself and his brother to be released says he is ‘very calm’ and is doing ‘anything to pass time in the most pleasant way possible’.

Comparing his house arrest to those who have been isolating in their homes during lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, he said: ‘People in their homes must imagine what it must be like not being able to do what you are used to.

‘I think that is something that will remain with us all forever after living in this complicated experience.

‘I hope that soon everything will return to normal, and we can return to our homes. Hopefully, everything will be as before.’

Definitely, Barcelona and I are united forever. It will always be my second city,’ he added.

‘Barcelona always treats me with a lot of love and respect. I thank you with all my heart for the messages and your love.

Pictured! Police arrest pastor for raping 19-year-old girl in Delta

Police detectives from the Warri Area Command, Delta State have arrested the Founder/General Overseer of Victory Revival Fasting & Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe for allegedly raping a nineteen-year-old girl (names withheld) in Warri.

The popular Cleric who is cooling his heels in the police cell in ‘A’ Division Warri, was arrested on Friday, June 5.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen in Warri, the Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, ACP Mohammed Muktar Garba, said the cleric was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victim at his office.

ACP Garba noted that the mother of the victim is a member of the church where her daughter was allegedly r.a.p.e.d by the said Bishop.
“The woman brought the lady to the church pastor. I think what really happened is that the pastor drugged that lady and r.a.p.e.d her. I personally took the lady to the hospital because she was in coma for two (2) days.

“We are looking for this pastor for the past three weeks. Later on, used my detectives to trace where he hides and I got him arrested and am charging him to court now.

This is somebody that I arrested since Friday. He has been in cell Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today Monday, I am charging him to Court,” ACP Garba said. In a swift reaction, the suspect, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe denied the allegations levelled against him. The cleric who spoke with newsmen on his way out of the Police Station to Court said,”I did not r.a.p.e her.”

According to Bishop Orhonigbe, “She came to church on that faithful day on the 20th of May. The mother brought her to the church for deliverance and I prayed for her in front of the altar in the presence of three people. Immediately, after the prayer, she left the church to 12.

She came back 5 ‘o’clock with policemen and crowd saying this is the man. If not, I did not r.a.p.e her.” The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the arrest of the Bishop in a telephone chat with Vanguard Correspondent in Warri.

CP Inuwa said, “Yes, I am aware even though out of the state on official duties. I have been fully briefed by the Area Commander. It’s a case of r.a.p.e in which the Bishop drugged the girl in the pretext of deliverance when he thereafter raped her.
