Adamawa state Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Zainab Jafaru, said to be a member of a nine-man r.a.p.e gang that violated her 33-year-old friend in Yola, the state capital.

Zainab allegedly deceived the victim into the rapists’ den.

The police said they have arrested five members of the gang, while four others are on the run.

Police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said Zainab deceptively took her friend to the gang and disappeared.

Nguroje said: “On June 13, 2020, following a report received from a 33-year-old lady being raped by a syndicate of nine at Gerio, a remote area of Jambutu in Yola North Local Government Area, police operatives attached to the command’s monitoring team arrested five people: Ahmadu Ismail (20); Salu Buba (25); Muhammed Ali (78); Abubakar Ali (28) and Zainab Jafaru (Female) 30 years.

“The incident happened on June 12, 2020 when the fifth suspect, Zainab Jafaru, deceived the complainant to accompany her to a certain place to meet her boyfriend.

A cousin of the deceased, Chinekwu Onah, said “I was playing draft few meters away from the scene when I heard the gunshot. I immediately rushed to the shop only to see my cousin already covered with blood. That was when I alerted the head of the neighbourhood watch in my area, Belushi Agbo.

Toyin Abraham reflects on life in new instagram post

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has taken some time to reflect on life.

The actress said she has been seeing life differently lately and decided to pen her thoughts down in an Instagram post.

She took to her page to express her thoughts in a long post with a beautiful picture of herself.

''The past few days have got me rethinking and reflecting on life in a totally new dimension. I looked at myself, looked at life and everything and it hits me so hard that life is so vain. No wonder it is so easy for us to exist in another day as if yesterday didn't happen. Lóòótọ́, everybody knows that ayé ó lọ bí ọ̀pá ìbọn, ìgbà ó lọ bí òréré, bíntí láyé, but how often do we remember these words and act accordingly every waking day?

My understanding of life has hit differently during this short period. Ah! Ó má da kí ènìyàn l'àròjinlẹ̀ o. If one is thoughtful, one will see the irony of life so glaringly. Life is a such a temporary space, but we keep chasing after things that are here today, but gone tomorrow hoping we can make them permanent. Who are we? ènìyàn lásán who cannot even predict what will happen today talk more of tomorrow?

We plan six months as if tomorrow is promised. My dears, ayé ni àdììtú tí Olódùmarè fi ju ẹ̀dá lọ. We make plans but only God can bring it to pass. So, I asked myself, Oluwatoyin, why are you chasing shadows when God is the one that holds your life?

This is one thing I've come to realise, not everything that glitters is gold and there is no forever in affluence because the truth is, kò sì ẹni tó lè ra ayé gbé. I have found my peace in knowing that whatever God has destined to be mine will be mine 'cos at the end of the day, only God truly has the control.

Dear #ToyinTitans, life is so ordinary, it is how we live that makes it extraordinary. Live purposefully'', she wrote.

AGF Malami Writes Buhari, Seeks Removal Of Magu For "Diversion Of Recovered Loot"

The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), has recommend to President Muhammadu Buhari the sacking of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu.

Malami, in a memorandum to the president, anchored his recommendation on several grounds “raging from diversion of recovered loot to insubordination and misconduct” by Magu.

Multiple sources told THISDAY that Malami included a short list of three candidates for consideration to replace Magu.

But Magu is fighting back and his supporters within the Presidency say "removing Magu at this time when he has given muscle to Buhari’s anti-corruption fight would be a mistake.”

“It is painful that the EFCC boss is facing certain powerful forces who have decided to remove him in spite of his remarkable achievements,” sources stated.

But sources said given the weight of Malami’s allegations against Magu, the president may be inclined “to set up a probe panel that will look into the veracity of the allegations and make necessary recommendations.”

One of the sources told select journalists that “I can authoritatively tell you that though Magu has survived previous plots to remove him, the AGF’s legal opinion remains the deadliest plot to get Magu out of the EFCC as AGF’s letter to the president contained 22 weighty allegations that require Buhari’s decision on whether or not to send Magu’s name to the Senate for confirmation or replace him….. This is because the office of the AGF is the supervising ministry of the EFCC and so his legal opinion cannot be treated with levity.

“For example, Malami alleged accounting gaps or discrepancies of figures concerning the recovered assets, claiming that Magu was not transparent enough in the management of recovered assets…”

A Magu supporter said:” It will interest you to note that Malami accused the EFCC boss of disclosing a total naira recovery of N504 billion but lodged N543 billion in the Recovery Account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Incidentally, this exceeded the disclosed figures by N39 billion.”

According to the supporter of the EFCC boss, what should be a point of commendation is now being used against Magu.

Others said: “Malami also accused Magu of blatant display of arrogance and insubordination to him as supervising minister of the EFCC.”

According to the source, Malami claimed that most of the recovered assets by the EFCC were allegedly sold by Magu without the knowledge of anyone.

“But it is unfortunate that this claim is at variance with the public auction of assets by the EFCC,“ the source added.

It will be recalled that many efforts have been made in the past to make the president to drop Magu, since his appointment as EFCC acting chairman on November 9, 2015.

The plot for his removal twice stalled his confirmation by the Eighth Senate, prompting him to remain the interim head of the nation’s foremost anti-graft agency.

However, when the presidency insisted on Magu being confirmed, the previous Senate demanded the reversal of a damning security report on the EFCC boss from the Department of State Services (DSS), which it had cited as the reason for his non-confirmation.

Many groups and individuals had also gone to court to challenge the continued stay of Magu as the acting chairman of the commission.

But Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, in a judgment delivered in 2019 over consolidated suits on Magu status, had held that there was no time limit in the law establishing the commission for him to act as the EFCC boss.

The judge further held that Buhari is holding the proverbial “yam and knife” on Magu, adding that the president should do the needful by sending the name of Magu to the Senate for confirmation.

US-based Nigerian man sentenced to jail for love scam

A 51-year-old man of Nigerian origin, Ronayerin Ogolor, has been sentenced to three years in prison for internet fraud in the United States.

Ogolor was sentenced by US Chief District Judge, Beth Phillips, and was ordered to pay $871,739 in restitution to his 13 victims.

Court documents said 13 victims from around the US and Italy each sent tens of thousands of dollars to Ogolor.

In one case, a widow from Indiana who received a friend request on Facebook was led to believe that one of Ogolor’s accomplices was a widower named ‘Lawrence Garrison’ working on an oil rig off the coast of Louisiana.

In October 2019, Ogolor pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He accepted responsibility for his role in a scam that targeted singles seeking love, some of them elderly, through Facebook and dating websites ChristianMingle.com and LetsHangout.com.

According to a statement from the US Department of Justice, since 2013, Ogolor and his accomplices created several bogus online dating profiles then contacted men and women throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, ‘with whom they cultivated a sense of affection and often romance.’

After establishing relationships with their ‘marks’ by communicating with them online and on the phone, Ogolor and his co-conspirators proceeded to ask for money for hospital fees, travel expenses, ‘customs expenses,’ ‘golf import taxes,’ or investment opportunities.

Often after the victims handed over the money, the crooks claimed even more funds were needed ‘to release the package’ or ‘to pay customs expenses’ on money or gold.

In some instances, women sold their personal property, including houses and cars, to raise money for the criminals.

Another component of the sprawling scam was business email hacking, where Ogolor and his cohorts fraudulently obtained checks from businesses with the help of their unsuspecting victims.

According to prosecutors, as part of the plot Ogolor opened several bank accounts in his name and in the names of sham businesses. The romance fraud victims wired and deposited their money and money from counterfeit or fraudulently obtained checks into Ogolor’s accounts.

30-year old mother shoots dead her four children and her neighbor before killing herself

Police in Louisiana say a mentally ill mother shot and killed her four children, including an infant, and her neighbor before turning the gun on herself at an apartment complex.

Monroe Police Chief Reggie Brown confirmed the six deaths that occurred Thursday night and identified 30-year-old Brittany Tucker as the shooter in the quintuple murder-suicide.

Brown told news outlets on Friday that Tucker suffered from mental health issues and appeared to be going through a crisis. She had been seen waving a gun at the Parkwood Apartments in the days before the shootings.

Anteshia Logwood, 20, was shot and killed at the apartment complex shortly before 8pm on Thursday. Brown said Logwood had dismissed an irrational remark that Tucker had made, the Monroe News Star reported.

Tucker asked Logwood, 'What are you laughing at?' before fatally shooting the young woman in the chest, reported KNOE.

Brown said Tucker then returned to her apartment and shot her children.

Police identified the four children as Tremayne Tucker, 12; Trechelle Tucker, eight; Treasure Tucker, five; and Glory Tucker, five months old.

Police said the mother turned the gun on herself before officers responded to the scene.

'After speaking with witnesses who were present over the past couple of days, Ms. Tucker was showing irrational behavior with the gun in hand, and no one felt the need to reach out to law enforcement or anyone of that nature to let us know she was showing irrational behavior and possessing a firearm,' Brown told the News Star. 'We could have responded and got her some help because that was a cry for help.'

According to investigators, Tucker bought the gun legally just days before the shootings.

According to the description of a GoFundMe campaign launched by Logwood's older brother, his sister would have turned 21 years old on Wednesday.

'Instead of planning for her birthday, we have to plan for a funeral,' wrote Charles Logwood.

On her Facebook page, which has been dormant since late May, Tucker referred to herself as an 'apostle' and frequently shared religious messages and memes.

Domestic flights can’t resume June 21 – FG

The Federal Government on Thursday said it was not feasible to open the airspace for commercial flights to begin operations again on June 21, 2020.

According to the government, it will be disastrous to allow domestic flights begin operations from June 21. It, however, noted that the airspace might be opened towards the end of the month.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, disclosed this through the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Musa Nuhu, at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.

In his address at Thursday’s briefing, Nuhu said, “We never said aviation is going to start definitely on June 21.

“We are supposed to report back based on what we have. We have some work to do and as such June 21 is not a feasible date to resume domestic operations.

“The civil aviation authority, despite pressures coming from all quarters, will not approve the start of operations any day until we are sure and confirm that we are ready to start in a safe, secured, organised and efficient manner.”

He added, “To do otherwise will be disastrous for all of us. God forbid, if we have an incident, I believe the government will come hard on us and it is going to be counter-productive and disastrous for the industry.

“We are not too far; we are close, but there is need for time so that we are positively and absolutely ready to start work.”

On when the airports would open, Nuhu said the NCAA was looking at the end of this month, adding that the agency would submit a report through the Federal Ministry of Aviation to the PTF for review.

The Senate had also on Thursday cautioned the Federal Ministry of Aviation against unlocking the sector on Sunday, saying doing so could be suicidal.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Smart Adeyemi, gave the caution after an emergency meeting with leaders of unions in the sector led by the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers.

He said based on serious issues raised by stakeholders in the sector as regards safety and security during the meeting, the plan of unlocking the airspace should be postponed.

Grandmother gives birth to her own grandkids after her daughter was left infertile at just 23 years

A grandmother gave birth to her own twin grandchildren after cervical cancer left her daughter infertile at just 23.

Nursery worker Micaela Gump-Johnson was left devastated when she was given the diagnosis at such a young age after trying for a second child.

Her doctor discussed a total hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, and the mum, whose son was three-years-old at the time, was told she would never be able to have another child once her treatment began.

She decided to create embryos but knew she wouldn't be able to afford a surrogate, leaving her hopes dashed until her mum Sheila stepped in.

Micaela thought she had a yeast infection until her doctor told her they had found "something" on her cervix and ordered a biopsy.

Two weeks later she was told she had small cell neuroendocrine cervical cancer.

Micaela, from the US state of Illinois, told the Sun when her mum urged her to visit a fertility doctor, she broke down in tears and replied: "But mum, even if we do create embryos, we can’t afford a surrogate. It’s impossible."

That's when Sheila volunteered, telling her daughter: "If I’m allowed to do it, I will."

Sheila was 16 when she gave birth to Micaela, who said they are more like sisters than mother and daughter.

During the fertility treatment 19 embryos were created, and Micaela then went through a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiation to treat her cancer.

She was told she was cancer free three months after her last round of treatment, meaning she could now focus on trying for a baby.

Sheila was 42 at the time, leaving Micaela worried that the doctors wouldn't allow her to be her surrogate.

But they did, and within months the implantation took place.

Mum-of-three Sheila, now 44, said: "I laughed as the embryos were implanted. This is the first time I’ve gotten pregnant without a man in the room."

Afterwards, mum and daughter cried and embraced, and 10 days later Sheila's pregnancy test came back positive.

Her two other children are currently aged 11 and 14.

It wasn't an easy time for Micaela, however, as her mum and her babies were an hour away, she didn't get to experience milestones such as feeling them move for the first time, and she worried that there would be no bond between them.

Deep down, she said, she wished she was carrying the twins - a boy and a girl - herself.

As for her own bond, Sheila told herself from the start the babies weren't hers, and attempted to disconnect and prepare for the day they would be in Micaela's arms.

She focused on keeping the babies healthy.

She had experienced gestational diabetes and a blood clot, so she required medication and close monitoring.

When she finally told friends that she was having twins but her mum was carrying them, some were shocked, telling her: "Wow, that's kind of weird."

The twins were delivered at 36 weeks - a week before a scheduled C-section - with son Logan weighing 5lbs and daughter McKinley 4lbs 10oz.

They are now 14-months-old and healthy, and Micaela said there have been no bonding problems.

“Men from the Forensic Department of the Nigeria Police were in the house this morning to commence an investigation. We cannot ascertain where the killing is coming from,” the family source stated.

Paul Pogba's Rolls-Royce 'seized by police (photos)

Paul Pogba's Rolls-Royce has been seized by police after he was pulled over for driving with a French number plate, according to reports.

The Sun report that the Manchester United star was seen driving on the M56 and was stopped by officers as he exited near Manchester Airport.

Greater Manchester Police reportedly took the special edition car on the A4538 near Hale, Cheshire, while the midfielder was loaded into the back of the patrol car.

Laws state that foreign cars that have been in Britain for more than six months in a year must be registered with the DVLA and fitted with UK plates.

But owners residing in the UK must register their cars within two weeks of importing it.

A witness told The Sun: 'We noticed the car going past us on the motorway because it really stands out, but we had no idea who was in it.
'It was already indicating off when the police pulled in behind it and then put the blue lights on after they were safely off the motorway.

'We couldn't believe it when we saw the driver was Paul Pogba. It looked like he did everything that was asked.

'We wondered what it was all about, he didn't look like he was speeding or anything.'

The 27-year-old is due to make his long-awaited return to the pitch as United travel to Tottenham on Friday night.

Don Jazzy reacts to r.a.p.e accusation against D’banj

Mavin Records boss, Michael Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, has given his opinion on the r.a.p.e accusation against his former business partner, Oladapo Oyebanj aka D’banj.

A lady identified as Seyitan had accused D’banj of raping her at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2018.

Recounting the incident via her twitter handle, @seyitannn_, she said that he r.a.p.e.d her in her room. She ended her tweets by demanding an apology.

However, D’banj went silent on the matter until June 16 a week after his 40th birthday celebration.

The singer, through his lawyers, Mike Ozekhome, demanded that Seyitan pays the sum of N100m within 48 hours or risk legal action.

However, incidents took a different turn barely 48 hours after the Nigerian singer’s action.

BBC Investigative Journalist, Kiki Mordi, took to Twitter to allege that Seyitan was arrested and pressured to retract her rape statement – a claim Seyitan said was untrue.

She said: “I don’t know where all these rumors are coming from. I and my mom were not and have not been arrested.”

Seyitan also added that she is moving on from the drama surrounding the r.a.p.e allegations.

“I’m done with all these back and forth drama…Frank took me to the party and gave me the key to the room. I’m moving on and leaving everything behind me. Thanks and God bless,” she tweeted.

However, despite her statements, many commentators stated that she was forced to change her statement.

Reacting on Thursday, Don Jazzy condemned r.a.p.e and also urged the public to give those who get accused of r.a.p.e a chance to prove their innocence before the law.

Facebook removes Trump’s re-election messages

Facebook on Thursday removed ads by President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign that contained a symbol used in Nazi Germany for political prisoners.

The leading social network, which has drawn fire over its hands-off approach to political speech in recent months, said in a statement the campaign messages violated a policy against “organised hate” and were taken down as a result.

“We don’t allow symbols that represent hateful organisations or hateful ideologies unless they are put up with context or condemnation,” Facebook head of security policy Nathaniel Gleicher said at a House of Representatives committee hearing.

“That’s what we saw in this case with this ad, and anywhere that that symbol is used we would take the same actions.”

Facebook’s move against the ads targeted when the contended are dangerous far-left groups comes amid heated debate between social platforms and political leaders on what content may be allowed or banned.

In a tweet from a “Trump War Room,” the campaign contended the upside-down red triangle symbol at issue was “widely used” in reference to left-wing activist group Antifa.

Watchdog group Media Matters replied with a tweet saying that is certainly not the case.

'A lot of us are all feeling stressed, lost & lonely... but please don't feel alone... We're all in this together.'

Ms Norris also has a separate 'health and wellness' Facebook page called 'You Matter' where she posted about her depression and anxiety as well as sharing quotes about mental health.

Friends said she had a huge influence on the pole dancing industry, setting up her first pole dancing studio at the age of 15.

She won her first Miss Pole Dance UK title in 2011, and claimed the crown for a second time in 2015.

People from across the pole dancing and fitness community have been sharing the impact Miss Norris had on their lives.
