We all know how Erica and Kiddwaya have all been loving up in the house right from the second week of the show. Even Kiddwaya in the spirit of love and romance has said that his love affair with the beautiful Erica won’t end in the House.

But unfortunately, Erica had asked Kiddwaya to stay away from her because he doesn’t support her publicly. And according to her, Kiddwaya allowed Wathoni to disrespect her in public.

It all started on Friday when the Housemates were having a general discussion and Erica stated she can’t and will never chase a man.

Reacting to Erica’s comment, Wathoni asked Kiddwaya if he didn’t chase any girl and Kidd replied saying he doesn’t chase girls.

Kiddwaya’s statement got Erica upset so much that she left the garden in anger.

On getting to the HoH lounge, Erica requested she and Kidd returned to being just friends after claiming the 27-year-old never supports her in public.

“What am I even doing with you? I feel very stupid for having anything to do with you in the first place. You’re being a hypocrite,” Erica said

“Wathoni’s behaviour makes me remember why I don’t like her in the first place. I know she doesn’t like me and I don’t like her.

“She tries to throw shades but she never finishes anything. She gossips a lot, she tries to assume every time and then she tries to say kinds of stuff to start a drama.

“You also added to it. If I’m with somebody I expect the person to always be on my side. You’re always trying to be safe.

“You don’t always have my back. In private you chat me but in public, you try to sit on the fence.

“Know where you want to stand and stand there, is anybody going to beat you? You need to stand for one thing. You saw that she was trying to throw shade at me and you still fell for it.”

Primate warns against killing Kano musician over blasphemy

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that killing Kano-based musician, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, will amount to spilling blood of the innocent.

Primate Ayodele, made this known in a statement and cautioned against the killing of the talented youngster.

The Kano-based singer was recently sentenced to death by an Upper Sharia Court for blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.

The 22-year-old Kano singer, was, however, given an option to appeal the ruling, or he will die by hanging.

According to Primate Ayodele, religion preaches love and tolerance, and killing Yahaya Shariff does not follow what religion preaches.

He made reference to Boko Haram members that were granted amnesty, noting that they equally deserved death because they have killed several Nigerians, yet they were pardoned.

‘‘If they should kill that young boy, they would be spilling innocent blood. Insurgency is one of the problems in the north, Boko haram has been killing lots of them yet when Boko Haram members were captured, they were granted amnesty, that boy has done nothing that warrants him being condemned to death.

“I’m not poke-nosing into their religion but I believe every religion preaches love and tolerance, if Yahaya Shariff is killed because of blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed, where is the place of religion that preaches love and tolerance?

“The same tolerance employed in the case of Boko Haram insurgence should also be employed here.”

Katie Price 'banned from s.e.x for two weeks' after breaking both feet in horror tumble

Katie Price has reportedly been banned from having s.e.x for two weeks, as doctors advised her to lie down and not move following her foot operation.

The former glamour model, 42, recently broke both her feet whilst on holiday in Turkey with new boyfriend Carl Woods and her children.

And it seems as though poor Pricey just can't catch a break, as she's not allowed to engage in any intimate behaviour with Carl while her feet heal from the five-hour op.

And her new man Carl now has to become Katie's "full time carer" as she won't be able to get out of bed for a fortnight, reports The Sun.

A source told the publication: "Katie's been told she has to lie down and not move for two weeks when she gets home.

"She will have to keep her legs elevated to give her the best chance of recovery - and that means no s.e.x or moving around.

"Carl will basically be her full time carer - the only time she's allowed to move is to go to the toilet.

"It's going to be a real test but Katie will be following doctor's orders."

Katie's already got her kids on wax duty, as she revealed her kids help her out with her waxing routine "because they love playing with it."

Katie recently returned to the UK following her chaotic trip to Turkey to get new teeth fixed, only for her to return with two broken feet.

Katie and her children Junior, 15, and 13-year-old Princess, along with Carl had spent the past week in Turkey.

The trip had been full of highs, but ended on a low when she sustained the injury at a theme park.

Katie revealed in a video on her YouTube channel that she had jumped over a wall to take a shortcut, not realising how big the drop was on the other side.

She suffered hairline fractures in her heels and will need surgery in the coming weeks.

Katie was seen screaming in pain as doctors tended to her injuries and wrapped her feet and lower legs in plaster.

She says she'll need a wheelchair and a mobility scooter to help her get around as she is unable to put any weight at all on her feet.

New photos of Queen's only daughter, Princess Anne as she celebrates her 70th birthday

Princess Anne’s 70th birthday has been celebrated with the release of three new official photographs and she’s been given a military promotion too. 

The Queen’s only daughter has reached the milestone today although festivities have been scaled back due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

To mark the occasion, the Ministry of Defence has made the Princess Royal a General in the British Army and an Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force in recognition of her ‘invaluable contribution and commitment to the military’.

If that wasn’t enough, celebrated photographer John Swannell was dispatched to her Gatcombe Park home in Gloucestershire to photograph her wearing a fancy evening dress while sitting in a chair.

Swannell has taken photographs of everyone from Diana, Princess of Wales and her sons to Tony Blair, Sir Michael Caine and Sir Elton John.

His images were taken in late February, a few weeks before the coronavirus lockdown.

Anne’s son-in-law Mike Tindall has already revealed Covid-19 and the recent spike of cases in Aberdeen have meant the family has had to come up with alternative arrangements to mark the day.

The former England rugby star, who is married to Anne’s daughter Zara, said on BBC’s The One Show: ‘We did have plans – it would’ve been up in Scotland – but obviously with Covid and Aberdeen being locked down a bit, I think everything’s been scaled back a little bit.

‘It’s a shame. I’m sure we’ll do something as a family to celebrate her 70 amazing years, she’s just an incredible woman in terms of how much work she can get through in the year.

‘We will be doing something, as yet I don’t know whether she knows so my lips are sealed.’

It is thought Anne is in Scotland like the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh who are spending the summer at Balmoral.

Despite the limitations of Covid-19, Anne’s milestone has been marked by a TV documentary and she has also guest-edited Country Life magazine.

In the ITV film, the princess suggested that social media is adding to the pressures already faced by younger members of the royal family, like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Anne was followed by film-makers for more than a year to make the programme, which featured unseen family footage and conversations with her children, Peter Phillips and Zara, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

Speaking about the younger members of the monarchy, she said: ‘The pressure that is applied to the younger members of the family is always worse, because that’s what the media is interested in and that’s, you know, hard sometimes to deal with.’

Anne also said she hoped her legacy would be the passing-on of her knowledge and experience.

When she guest-edited Country Life, the princess paid tribute to her parents for instilling in her a lifelong love of nature. She also wrote about holding an HGV licence, how she hates fly-tipping, and sees herself as a ‘classic Jack of all trades’.

Recently she impressed with her technological knowledge when she taught the Queen how to use Zoom.

Police call for identification of missing boy found in Anambra

 

The police have found a missing boy said to have trekked from Nnewi to Awka, the Anambra State capital.

In a statement on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, identified the boy as Akachukwu Gabriel.

Mohammed, a Superintendent of Police (SP), explained that Akachukwu was found by a team of policemen while on patrol on Wednesday along the UNIZIK Junction area in the state.

According to him, the three feet tall boy who is about 11 years and dark in complexion was trekking to Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.

The command’s spokesman noted that Akachukwu (as of the time of this report) is in the protective care of the police and called on his biological parents and close relations to come and identify him.

Showmax, an internet television service on Friday said the ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) show had become the most popular entertainment live stream on that platform

This was contained in a statement given to newsmen in Lagos, by the organisation which added that the development had proved that local content definitely had cross-border appeal.

The television service drew audiences in Nigeria and other countries across the continent.

“The Big Brother Naija Lockdown which started July 19, 2020 had already broken a Showmax live-streaming record and become the most-watched live entertainment content ever on the streaming service.

“If watched back to back, the collective number of hours of the show streamed this season already add up to almost 30 years’ worth of viewing.

“Interestingly, a significant portion of the viewing is happening outside of Nigeria,” it said.

According to the statement, Showmax which was launched in Nigeria in July 2019, with Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem as the key launch drawcard had all eviction episodes live-streamed and recordings of the nomination shows posted on Tuesdays.

It said Comedians Bright Okpocha popularly known as “Basketmouth” and Kris Ugboma, known as “Bovi” also took turns hosting the Big Brother Naija Hot Room show.

“This year Showmax has gone a different route and is live-streaming the full show 24 hours and judging by the viewing statistics, BBNaija fans have enthusiastically taken to watching it online.

JSS 3 students in Kaduna to resume next week

The Kaduna State government has announced the resumption of classes for Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 students in the state.

In a statement on Friday, the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Education, Phoebe Yayi, revealed that the government has approved Sunday and Monday next week as the resumption dates for the students.

She explained that the decision was taken to allow the students prepare for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled to commence on August 24.

The government also directed all school principals to make arrangements to receive the JSS3 boarding students on Sunday, and the day students on Monday, in line with the COVID-19 regulations of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

“All administrators of public and private schools are to note that, the one-week period starting from Sunday, 16th August, is to allow them to make necessary preparations to accommodate the JSS 3 students in line with the COVID-19 guidelines in place as it were in the case of the SS3 students.

“Proprietors of private schools are expected to comply accordingly through the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority and are advised to ensure proper arrangements for safe transportation of their students to and from schools,” the statement said.

Fire razes 10 cars, one trailer at LASTMA office

A fire at the office of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency in Oshodi on Friday razed 10 cars and a trailer.

The fire started at a section of the agency’s premises where impounded vehicles were kept but its cause could not be ascertained by witnesses.

After emergency service officials battled and put out the fire, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) revealed that no life was lost as a result of the fire.

“A total number of ten cars and one trailer were razed by the inferno,” the LASEMA Director-General, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said in a statement.

“No casualties were recorded at the scene as the LRT Fire Unit and LASG Fire Service were all responders at the scene who successfully worked together to put out the fire”.

Ponzi king Madoff’s brother released from home confinement

The younger brother of Ponzi king Bernard Madoff has been released from home confinement and has been released from federal custody, the Bureau of Prisons said on Friday.

Peter Madoff, who had served about nine years of his sentence, was released from home confinement on Thursday, said Justin Long, a spokesman for the federal Bureau of Prisons. He had been transferred to home confinement from the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami in November 2019, officials said.

Madoff, 74, had pleaded guilty to falsifying documents and lying to regulators as part of his brother’s Ponzi scheme and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

His brother, Bernard Madoff, had pleaded guilty to fraud charges after his multi-decade fraud cost thousands of investors roughly $20 billion they had trusted with him. The fraud was first exposed in December 2008.

The older Madoff, 82, pleaded guilty within months and was immediately ordered to begin serving his 150-year sentence. A judge in June denied Bernard Madoff’s bid to be released early from federal prison

Malawi court orders arrest of police who r.a.p.e.d 18 women, girls during protest

A court in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe has ordered the arrest of police officers who r.a.p.e.d and abused 18 women and girls during anti-government protests last year, as well as compensation payouts.

“It is important that the officers … that s.e.x.ually assaulted and  r.a.p.e.d the applicants and all other women and girls… be arrested and prosecuted,” High Court judge Kenyatta Nyirenda said in the ruling issued Thursday.

Seventeen policemen had been accused of raping and s.e.x.ually assaulting 18 women and girls during an operation to disperse demonstrators in October in three districts on the outskirts of the city.

Three of the victims were under 18 years old.

The Women Lawyers Association — which represented the women in court — hailed the judgement as a precedent-setting victory.

“The effects of this case will be much broader than just in Malawi,” the association’s president, Tadala Chimkwezule said.

“The justice system is not blind and this ruling is very pivotal to the human rights discourse,” she added.

Thursday’s judgement was “one of the greatest rebukes to s.e.xual harassment against women and impunity by some police officers in Malawi,” agreed national Ombudswoman Martha Chizuma.

A report compiled by the Malawi Human Rights Commission served as evidence in the plaintiffs’ lawsuit.

Compensation amounts for the individual victims will be determined by the court’s registrar within 21 days.

FC Barcelona’s Umtiti tests positive for COVID-19

 

FC Barcelona said on Friday that defender Samuel Umtiti has tested positive for COVID-19.

However, the test result did not affect their UEFA Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich on Friday as he is injured and not with the squad.

Umtiti is the second Barca player to give a positive test for COVID-19 in the last week.

This was after his fellow French defender Jean-Clair Todibo was diagnosed with the virus on Wednesday when reporting back for pre-season training.

Barca said in a statement that World Cup winner Umtiti was asymptomatic, in good health and was currently isolating in his home.

The club added that people who had recently been in close contact with him would also receive a test.

Barca lost 2-8 to Bayern Munich on Friday in the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League ‘Final Eight’ tournament in Lisbon.

The humiliating loss meant they failed to book a place in the competition’s last four and also failed to win any meaningful silverware this season.

Governor Dapo Abiodun lifts Ogun weekend lockdown

Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun has lifted weekend lockdown in the state.

Giving updates on efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor explained he took the decision after thorough deliberation, consideration and resolution with stakeholders.

He also stated the decision to lift the weekend lockdown was due to the opening of worship centres for activities.

Abiodun, however, said the limitation on social gatherings not exceeding 20 people at any place is still in force.

He said: “Let me say that now that our worship centres are open for activities, the restrictions on weekends are lifted but the limitation on social gatherings not exceeding 20 people at any place at the same time is still very much in force.

“Observation of dusk-to-dawn curfew as directed by the Presidential Task Force i.e. between 10.00pm and 4.00am daily.

“Wearing of face masks in the public is compulsory and failure to do so is punishable.

“Only one passenger is still allowed for motorcycles and two passengers only for tricycles. Taxi cabs and buses still have 60% limitation on their carrying capacity and non-adherence attracts sanction.

“The COVID-19 Task Force in markets must continue to ensure physical distancing, availability of handwashing facilities, and use of gloves and facemasks for traders. Decontamination will continue in our markets and other public places.”

He further noted that event centres, bars, casinos, cinemas, and night clubs are still under lockdown.

Teacher gets life sentence for r3ping 10-year old girl

Omotayo Adanlawo, a primary school teacher in Ondo State, was on Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment for r3ping a 10-year-old girl.

He was jailed by the state’s High Court in Akure, the capital, after he used N50 to lure the little girl before defiling her.

The teacher had on August 28, 2018, committed the offence in the family house of the victim and threatened her not to tell anyone or she will die.

A few weeks after the incident, the girl began to complain of stomach pains and could not also walk properly.

She was taken to a private hospital where a test confirmed that she had been r3ped.

The victim later opened up and explained that Adanlawo, who also attends the same church with her father, forcefully had s3xual intercourse with her.

The case was first reported at Iju/Itaogbolu Police Division but later transferred to Ala Area Command in Akure.

The primary school teacher in his confessional statement confirmed to the court that he gave the girl "N50 and chinchin" before the incident.

Ruling on Thursday, Justice Samuel Bola said the prosecution was able to prove there was penetration in the r3pe allegation against Mr Adanlawo.

The judge said the teacher failed to give convincing evidence to prove his innocence in the case and sentenced him to life imprisonment in line with section 358 of the criminal laws of Ondo State.

FG vows to prosecute suspect for destruction of Enugu Airport’s fence

The federal government yesterday vowed to apply all lawful means to prosecute one Mr. John J. Emejulu, who was alleged to be responsible for the destruction of the concrete perimeter fence, covering about two kilometres, being erected at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, as part of the ongoing rehabilitation of the airport.

Speaking to journalists after inspecting the site to ascertain the level of the destruction, the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, expressed deep sadness that the perpetrator could take such an unlawful act by destroying a “national security asset,” at a time the federal government was in the course of delivering the Enugu Airport, on August 30, as promised.

Narrating what transpired, Sirika disclosed that “while the procurement (of the Enugu airport rehabilitation) was going on, a certain cantankerous individual by name J J Emejulu came with bulldozers and hundreds of armed thugs and destroyed more than two kilometres of our fence”.

The Minister, who described the action as unfortunate, unbecoming and unacceptable, said that “he (Emejulu) has given the government the opportunity to show how not to willfully destroy public asset belonging to over 200 million people”. 

While reiterating the commitment of the federal government to the reopening of the Enugu airport on August 30, as earlier promised, Sirika, expressed dismay that in spite of the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari, to bring the airport back to its glory, with the nation’s limited resources and “at this very austere time,” “a certain cantankerous individual appeared from nowhere with bulldozers and destroyed this national security asset.

“It is a wrong time to test our resolve. The individual will certainly be dealt with maximally without recourse. I am sure he will regret doing this and of course this is also an opportunity for government to show that no one can take the law into his hands and willfully destroy national asset belonging to 200 million of all of us.

“This will certainly be the end of this kind of recklessness. We will not forgive him. The Chief of Air Staff, the Inspector General of Police, the Director General, DSS, others, will be directed to do the needful and bring him to book, so that anybody who would contemplate doing something like this in future will have a rethink.

“We are government in place; we are not a lawless country; we are not in a banana republic, we are in the Federal Republic of Nigeria governed by laws. Certainly, this is not acceptable and I am sure that we are equal to the task of rising in defence of our national asset”, the minister maintained.

Willian officially joins Arsenal

Arsenal Football Club have announced that Brazil international Willian has officially signed a three-year deal to join the club ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The 32-year-old forward has a wealth of experience and has made more than 600 club appearances in a career spanning 13 seasons.

Willian started at Brazilian side Corinthians, before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in August 2007. In his six years there, he won four Ukrainian Premier League titles and the Uefa Cup in 2009. Four years later, he briefly signed for Anzhi Makhachkala before joining Chelsea, winning the Premier League and League Cup in his second season in England.

Throughout his seven years at Chelsea, he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and the Europa League. He made 339 appearances, with 63 goals and 56 assists in that time.

“I believe he’s a player that can really make a difference for us,” Mikel Arteta said.

“We have been monitoring him for the past few months, we had a clear intention to strengthen in the attacking midfielder and the winger positions [and] he is a player that gives us a lot of versatility, he can play in three or four different positions.

‘He has the experience of everything in the football world but to still have the ambition to come here and contribute to bring the club where it belongs. I have been really impressed with all the talks I have had with him and how much he wanted to come,” he added.

Willian has made 70 appearances and has scored nine goals for Brazil, making his international debut in 2011. He has since represented his country at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, the 2015 Copa America, the Copa America Centenario, and the 2019 Copa America where he was a key member of the squad that lifted the trophy on home soil.

Technical director Edu said: “I know him very well, since a long time ago because we’ve been working together for the Brazilian national team and of course I was following him because he played for another club. He has a lot of fantastic attributes as a person, as a football player of course, his character. I’m 100 per cent sure that everybody in the dressing room, the fans, myself and Mikel will enjoy having Willian in our side.“

Willian will wear the number 12 shirt.

The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes, the club said on its website.

Police rescue man locked up in a room by parents for 7 years

The police in Kano have rescued a 32-year-old man, Ahmad Aliyu who was locked up by his father and stepmother for seven years in Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

The man, who looked emaciated and dehydrated in a viral video, spent days without food and water and drank his urine.

A source told HumAngle that Ahmad was “imprisoned” by his parents on the suspicion that he had started smoking and getting involved in drug consumption.

A lady named Rahama who lives in Farawa Babban Layi Mariri Quarters, alerted the police in Farawa and Human Rights Network who came to rescue him. 

When the police and the human rights group arrived, the stepmother insisted that Ahmad was not at home, which forced the team to break down places in the house in search of him.

The police thereafter arrested the man and his wife and took away their victim.

Buhari’s daughter Hanan, to wed SA to Minister of Works

The wedding of Hanan, one of the daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari  will be held inside the Aso Rock Villa according to latest reports.

The marriage is billed to take place on September 4, 2020.

The groom is the son of a former lawmaker, Alhaji Mahmud Sani Sha'aban, who represented Zaria in the House of Representatives from May 2003 to May 2007.

Sha'aban is also a former governorship candidate in Kaduna State under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria.

Gunmen kill Bauchi lawmaker, kidnap wives

A lawmaker in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Baraza, is dead, The PUNCH has learnt.

It was gathered that Baraza was killed by gunmen on Thursday night at his residence in the Dass Local Government Area.

The lawmaker represented Dass Constituency in the House before his death.

The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday morning.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, said the assailants also kidnapped his two wives and one-year-old child.

Wakili, however, said a crack team of police personnel have been mobilised to the area to commence an immediate investigation to rescue the victims and nab the perpetrators.

One dead, as truck collides with danfo, okada in Lagos

One person has died and another injured as a 20-feet container truck collided with a commercial bus (danfo), and crushed an okada in the process.

The conductor of the danfo, identified as Saheed, 38 died in the process, while the okada rider sustained serious injury.

Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, said the accident occurred at ASCON bus stop, Orile area of Lagos.

He said “upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was discovered that a loaded double 20ft containerized truck with unknown registration number lost control while on motion and collided with a commercial LT bus with registration number AAA-504XT and a motorcycle with unknown registration number, thereby obstructing free vehicular activities.

“Unfortunately, the conductor of the commercial bus (Saheed aged 38yrs) lost his life at the scene and the bike man sustained different degrees of injury but has been taken to the hospital.

“LRT and Police are responders at the scene of the incident working together to evacuate the accidented containerized truck and bus off the road.”

He said the accidented containerized truck, commercial bus and motorcycle were later evacuated off the road and taken to Orile Police Station.
