According to a letter from the security agency, the politicians are to attend the meeting scheduled to hold on Saturday at the DSS Command Headquarters in Benin City, the state capital.
A copy of the letter, dated August 20, 2020, and addressed to one Tony Adun who is also known as Kabakaba, was obtained by Channels Television on Friday.
While the DSS did not disclose the agenda of the meeting, it is suspected to be in connection to the forthcoming governorship election in Edo.
“I am directed to invite you (Adun) to an important meeting with the State Director of Security,” part of the letter read.
Adun was asked to attend the meeting with the National Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), and eight other leaders of the APC in the state.
They include Ehis Adams – APC Leader in Oredo, Osaro Idahosa – APC Leader in Ikpoba-Okha, and Okunbor Roberts – APC Leader in Ovia South-West LGA.
Others are ‘Atarodo’ – APC member, Kingsley Amedo – APC member, Richard Obe – APC member, Osarobo Idehen – APC member, and Dr Emma – APC member.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed September 19 to conduct the election in Edo State.

Taiwo, a widower, and his 15-year-old daughter live together in a rented apartment at Baruwa, Ipaja area of Lagos State.
City Round learnt that the father had been constantly molesting the girl since she was 13 by dipping his fingers into her private parts.
Folake, having got tired of the molestation, was said to have reported his father to their landlord who warned Taiwo to desist from the act.
He allegedly persisted which prompted the girl to report him to her uncle recently. While the uncle was trying to handle the case discreetly, a neighbour got wind of it and escalated it.
Punch correspondent learnt that the matter was reported at the Ipaja Police Station and Taiwo was arrested last Saturday.
The Coordinator of a child rights group following up on the case, Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network, Mr Ebenezer Omejalile, told City Round that Taiwo claimed to have suspected Folake of going out with men and decided to conduct “a virginity test” on her with his finger.
He said, “The girl said she had been constantly abused by her father since she was 13. He is about 40 years old and a retired electricity worker.
“Before the intervention of the girl’s maternal uncle, one Mr Alagba, the girl got tired of the wickedness of her father and informed their landlord who confronted the father to stop the evil act and he let him know the consequence of his action.
“But the survivors turned a deaf ear to it and kept doing it to the extent that whenever he was on night duty, he went to the office with girl to keep having her to his satisfaction.
“The man claimed that he saw some pictures in her daughter’s phone and suspected that she was wayward. He said he did not have s.e.x with her but only used his finger to check if she is a virgin or not.”
It was gathered that Taiwo’s relations claimed that he had mental illness in 2018 and was admitted at a private rehabilitation centre, Ise Oluwa Hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
A report signed by the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr Kayode Ojomo, indicated that Taiwo was admitted at the facility on October 1, 2018 “for complaints suggestive of a mild depressive episode.”
The report added, “He is currently on admission and will be discharged soon as he has made remarkable improvement.”
“He has been exhibiting strange behaviour inside the cell. At times, he would just remove his clothes,” a source said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bala Elkana, confirmed Taiwo’s arrest.
He said, “Investigation has commenced on the case and tests will be carried out on to determine the suspect’s mental health.”
News of Babasuwe’s death rumour filtered into town and social media platforms in the early hours of Friday with friends and fans of the actor making efforts to reach out to him.
Speaking with Tribune Online on Friday, Babasuwe said he was told about the death rumour, adding that he was surprised that people could go to any extent to wish death on their fellow human beings.

As it stands, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria is now 51,304 with 37,885 patients discharged and 996 deaths recorded.
The gunmen shot sporadically as they stormed the station.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the incident.

The interview, which has been widely condemned, occasioned a petition calling on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to disinvite the governor as a keynote speaker for its 60th Annual Conference, which begins on 26 August, and inspired the Twitter hashtag #CancelElRufai2020.
In response, on 20 August the Nigerian Bar Association stated on Twitter that: “The National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association at its ongoing meeting resolves that the invitation to the Kaduna State Governor, H.E. Nasir El-Rufai by the 2020 Annual General Conference Planning committee be withdrawn and decision communicated to the Governor.”
In a statement issued on 17 August, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Samson O. A. Ayokunle, urged Governor el Rufai to “end the cycle of accusations and counter-accusations between the government and other stakeholders over the killings in Southern Kaduna”.
He also urged him to embrace a “round table” approach, adding that “every provocative statement over the matter should be avoided.
“Everybody is looking at the governor as a father of the state and this is the understanding with which he should handle every accusing finger pointed at him.”

WHO chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said with modern technology and international cooperation, COVID-19 battle could be won in less than two years.
Ghebreyesus disclosed this on Friday while addressing a news conference in Geneva, Switzerland, NAN reports.
He said while COVID-19 can spread more easily because the world is far more interconnected than it was 100 years ago, modern technology has given humanity the tools to fight the virus more effectively than the Spanish flu.
“Hoping we can have additional tools like a vaccine, I think we can finish it in a shorter time than the 1918 flu.
“So we hope to finish this pandemic in less than two years,” he said.
It listed 35 policies, programmes and projects including the controversial Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA.

Robert Trump, the president’s younger brother, died at the age of 71 on Saturday.
The details of his cause of death have not been publicly released.

The law signed by President Muhammadu Buhari empowered a supervising minister to suspend the Board of Trustees of a church and appoint new one as well as suspend the account of the church.
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, had rejected the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, saying appointing a supervising minister to suspend church trustees and appoint new one is Satanic.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode said those behind the CAMA law failed to understand that the gate of hell shall not prevail against the church.

Actress Lori Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to federal charges connected to the college admissions cheating scandal.
U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton accepted Loughlin’s plea agreement a few hours after he sentenced her husband, Mossimo Giannulli.
She will have to self-surrender within 90 days from Friday, and will have supervised release for two years after completing her prison sentence.
In May, Loughlin and Giannulli, 57, admitted their wrongdoing during a video conference with the Boston-based U.S. District Court judge.
Each pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, admitting that they had hired consultant William “Rick” Singer and paid $500,000 to get their daughters admitted to the school as fake crew recruits.
Loughlin’s husband was also sentenced Friday. In addition to five months in prison, the fashion designer will have to pay a $250,000 fine due in 60 days and complete 250 hours of community service. He will have to self-surrender 90 days from Friday, and will have supervised release for two years after completing his prison sentence.
“I deeply regret the harm that my actions have caused my daughters, my wife and others,” Giannulli said in a short statement during the hearing. “I take full responsibility for my conduct. I am ready to accept the consequences and move forward with the lessons I’ve learned from this experience.”
