It’s celebration time for Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and husband rapper Abdul Rasheed Bello, a.k.a JJC Skillz as they marked their 4th wedding anniversary with fresh vows of love.
The two love birds married in London on 23 August 2016 and are blessed with twins.
This was three years after Funke’s first short-lived marriage to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede collapsed in just 14 months.
On Saturday, Funke and Bello, decked in traditional Aso Oke, appeared as if heading to the altar once again. The dresses were designed by Bimmms24.
Funke wrote on Instagram: “All glory to God!!! 4 years and many more years to spend together in good health and wealth in Jesus name. I love you My King @jjcskillz. A Big THANK YOU to the wonderful Glam Squad”.
Bello also responded on his Instagram page: “To God be the glory. It’s our anniversary. May God continue to strengthen and uplift our hearts. The love and peace of God will never depart from us. Our children will be a blessing to this generation. I pray our union will continue to bear fruits of favour. I love you @funkejenifaakindele”.
It has been a blissful four years for the couple except for the clash with the law in April 2020.
Funke was arrested and charged to court after hosting a birthday party in honour of her husband during the lockdown for coronavirus.
The actress and her husband were sentenced to a 14-day community service after pleading guilty to violating the lockdown.
Video app TikTok said Saturday it will challenge in court a Trump administration crackdown on the popular Chinese-owned platform, which Washington accuses of being a national security threat.
As tensions soar between the world’s two biggest economies, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on August 6 giving Americans 45 days to stop doing business with TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance — effectively setting a deadline for a potential pressured sale of the app to a US company.
“To ensure that the rule of law is not discarded and that our company and users are treated fairly, we have no choice but to challenge the executive order through the judicial system,” TikTok said in a statement.
“Even though we strongly disagree with the administration’s concerns, for nearly a year we have sought to engage in good faith to provide a constructive solution,” it said.
“What we encountered instead was a lack of due process as the administration paid no attention to facts and tried to insert itself into negotiations between private businesses.”
ByteDance said in a separate statement that the suit would be filed on Monday, US time.
TikTok’s kaleidoscopic feeds of short clips feature everything from dance routines and hair-dye tutorials to jokes about daily life and politics. It has been downloaded 175 million times in the US and more than a billion times around the world.
Trump claims TikTok could be used by China to track the locations of federal employees, build dossiers on people for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage.
The company has said it has never provided any US user data to the Chinese government, and Beijing has blasted Trump’s crackdown as political.
The US measures come ahead of November 3 elections in which Trump, behind his rival Joe Biden in the polls, is campaigning hard on an increasingly strident anti-Beijing message.
– Trump and China –
Trump has increasingly taken a confrontational stance on China, challenging it on trade, military and economic fronts.
Shortly after Trump announced his moves against TikTok this month, the United States slapped sanctions on Hong Kong’s leader over the Chinese security clampdown after last year’s pro-democracy demonstrations.
Microsoft and Oracle are possible suitors for TikTok’s US operations.
Reports have said Oracle — whose chairman Larry Ellison has raised millions in campaign funds for Trump — was weighing a bid for TikTok’s operations in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The Trump administration has also given ByteDance a 90-day deadline to divest in TikTok before the app is banned in the United States.
The measures move away from the long-promoted American ideal of a global, open internet and could invite other countries to follow suit, analysts told AFP previously.
“It’s really an attempt to fragment the internet and the global information society along US and Chinese lines, and shut China out of the information economy,” Milton Mueller, a Georgia Tech professor and founder of the Internet Governance Project said previously.

A sadistic killer forced his ex to watch him mutilate her new partner's genitals with a samurai sword after tying her up with electric cables at their holiday home in Portugal.
Police launched a manhunt when the traumatised woman managed to free herself after being made to witness her boyfriend's horrific murder.
The search ended when detectives discovered the sole suspect, named locally as Spaniard Carlos Sande Fidalgo, had ended his own life.
The macabre sequence of events, centred on a small Portuguese village near the country's northern border with Spain, was still under investigation on Saturday as the full horror of the grisly murder-suicide began to emerge.
The body of the alleged assassin, a real estate businessman based in the Galician city of Vigo, was found on Wednesday morning.
Spanish police alerted colleagues in Portugal who had been hunting for the man suspected of the brutal murder of a 53-year-old in front of his partner at their rented holiday home in the village of Gondufe, a 45-minute drive south just across the border in the Portuguese municipality of Ponte de Lima.
Local reports said the dead man's partner, the suspect's ex-wife, had her hands tied behind her back with electric cables.
She was then forced to watch as the murder victim had his genitals mutilated for about six hours with weapons including knives and another described as a Japanese sword known as a katana.
The dead man has been named locally as Luis Miguel Fernandez and his partner as Nuria Rodriguez Gonzalez.
Portuguese daily Diario de Noticias said police investigators suspect Nuria's ex-husband placed a GPS tracker on her car so he could follow her movements following their split earlier this year.
Police were alerted after the alleged killer left the property and his ex, who needed hospital treatment for shock and injuries caused by the ties around her wrists and legs, managed to alert the authorities.
He is understood to have fled the scene of the crime in his ex-wife's jeep before deliberately crashing it near the property and switching to a black BMW 740 he owned which was found near the bridge.
His body was found around 10am on Wednesday by coastguards participating in the search along with police.

It seems all is well after Erica approached Laycon over his behaviour. The duo made peace on Tuesday night and all has been well.
However, on Friday, Laycon was seen telling Wathoni about a dream he had over the night. He said he kissed Erica in his dream even though he refused to kiss her in reality when he had the chance.

Dr. Stella Immanuel, the woman who took the world by storm in July when she claimed that Hydroxychloroquine is the potential cure for Coronavirus, has hired an Attorney to battle her queries from medical boards in the United States.
Immanuel had claimed that antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax, were effective cures for the coronavirus.
She dismissed experts’ warning that hydroxychloroquine could cause serious heart problems for coronavirus patients, citing her experience with the use of the drug.
She said she had successfully treated no fewer than 350 patients with hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax. Hydroxychloroquine, long touted by President Donald Trump as the cure for the virus, according to her.
But Immanuel had revealed that since she opened up to the world on the steps of the Supreme Court, Texas Medical Board, Louisiana Medical Board and Houston Health department had all open queries against her.
She said she had hired an Attorney to fight back so that they would not shut her down and solicited for donations.
According to her, “since our visit to the steps of the supreme court, Texas Medical Board, Louisiana Medical Board and Houston Health department have all open queries against me.
“I have had to hire legal counsel to fight back so they don’t shut me down. Many patients and those I’ve inspired will be marginalized if I were to shut down.
“People have been asking how they can help. If you fell led to support please donate and share with your friends to donate. The battle is fierce but I know America will win in the end. Good will win.”
Immanuel later gave update, thanking those who donated money to pursue her cases.
She said: “Thank you, to all those who donated. Texas Medical Board has resolved the matter. Waiting for Louisiana medical board. So Far we have about $2,800 left from the money and I will donate it to the church. For now we are not needing any more money for legal funds. God bless.”
Terseer Waya, the son of Nigerian socialite, Terry Waya, and one of the hottest male housemates at the ongoing Big Brother Naija, has been labelled a tyrant by another housemate, Praise.
Kiddwaya and Praise got into a little argument on Friday, after Laycon confronted Praise on his attitude of making jokes at the expense of others.
Praise, however, defended himself saying its all cruise.
Kiddwaya then accused Praise of always making jokes at the expense of others.
In response, Praise called Kiddwaya a tyrant who should never be head of house again.
He said: “Kiddwaya should never be allowed to be the Head of house again. He is a tyrant.
“When he was supposed to declare the freeze during the Betway trivia games, he made sure he sat down before saying it.”
Kiddwaya had earlier described Praise as the biggest liar among housemates, during his diary session with Dorathy who acted as Biggie.
Giving his reasons, the billionaire’s son said: “Praise is the biggest liar in the house because he talks too much.
“People who tell too much stories tend to lie about them to make it interesting.
“No disrespect to him and his character but the things he’s made us believe he has done, to me I believe are lies.”
