Kano Pillars beg NFF to release their N25m Aiteo Cup prize money

For the umpteenth time, Kano Pillars football club have appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to pay their N25million Aiteo Cup Prize money.

After waiting for 66 years, Kano Pillars won their second Challenge Cup trophy, now called Aiteo Cup when they defeated Niger Tornadoes 4-3 on penalties in the 2019 finals decided at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

Although they were to take home the cash prize of N25m for winning the competition sponsored by Aiteo Group, Kano Pillars have said they are yet to be paid the money.

The Chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya who spoke to Daily Trust on Thursday said Pillars have not given up on the money but are not prepared to make it a media issue.

He said in order not to be seen as challenging the NFF, Pillars have decided to wait patiently for the prize money to be paid.

Yahaya, however, said that now that Pillars are faced with continental competition which is going to gulp millions of naira, it has become imperative to remind the NFF about the money.

He said “We have not given up but we don’t want to be confrontational.

“When dealing with elders, you don’t shout on top of your voice.

“We don’t want a situation where we would upset someone.

“All we can do is to keep appealing to the NFF to consider our plight and pay us the prize money.

“Considering our present financial situation, N25million will help us greatly.

“At the moment, we are preparing for the continent and it is going to cost us hundreds of millions of naira.

“If they release the money to us, you can only imagine what it would do for us.

“Although we have retained the trophy we won in 2019, we are not asking for a double prize.

“We want only N25m from the NFF. As a matter of fact, it will be good if in future, such prize money is paid immediately after the competition.”

Yahaya, however, reiterated that Pillars will not apply unnecessary pressure on NFF for the prize money to be paid.

Man hacks 25-year-old wife’s hand, thighs after she asked him for money to buy sugar

Police in Malava, Kakamega County, Kenya have launched a hunt for a 30-year-old man accused of hacking his wife, 25, in the thighs and arms.

Evelyne Muchite, a resident of Mkavakavaka Village, said her husband, Meshach Japheth, returned home Monday mid-morning while drunk.

“As he was leaving, I asked him to give me money so that I could buy sugar and make breakfast for the children, who were complaining of hunger.

He ignored me at first. I, thereafter, told him that he was wasting money on alcohol, yet his children and I, his wife, were suffering from hunger.

It was at that point that he reached for a panga and hacked me several times in the arms and thighs,” Muchite told K24 Digital.

The suspect, who escaped to an unknown destination after the incident, is said to have, of late, developed a habit of assaulting his spouse.

Japheth’s brother, George Bush, says his sibling, a mason, has a drinking problem.

“He has assaulted his wife on two previous occasions. I am afraid he would kill her the third time he abuses her physically,” said Bush, who took Evelyne to Malava Sub-County Hospital, where she was treated and discharged.

Shock as coffin with body inside dumped at hospital [photos]

Residents of Kisumu East, Kenya were  treated to a shocking incident, in which a coffin carrying the body of a middle-aged man was dumped outside Lumumba Sub-County Hospital in unclear circumstances.

Eyewitnesses told K24 Digital that at around 9am, they saw a few people offloading the casket from a pick-up and putting it on a wooden stand near the entrance of the health facility.

“We did not know that the coffin had a body inside. So, when we moved closer and opened it, we were shocked to find that it wasn’t empty; in it, was the body of a man who appears to be in his 40s or 50s,” said one of the eyewitnesses.

“The person who left the coffin behind told us that he was taking the vehicle to the garage, and would, thereafter, come back to take the body,” said another eyewitness identified as Happy, who sells mitumba clothes near Lumumba Hospital.

The residents, who viewed the body, said none of them knew who the deceased was.

A few minutes past 2pm, when police from Kisumu East were almost taking the casket away, two men rushed to the scene and claimed the deceased was their relative.

The duo was allowed to take the coffin, but instructed to first record statements with authorities.

Later Thursday afternoon, a pick-up carrying the coffin was driven to Kanyakwar sides by the two men, who had claimed they were related to the deceased.

Police suspect that the grieving family did not want to bury their loved one earlier than 3pm or 4pm as demanded by the county government regulations on burials during the coronavirus crisis.

“We suspect that they dumped the coffin at the hospital to buy time so that they can bury their loved on Thursday evening. In Kisumu, the county government directed that bodies should be buried almost immediately after arriving at the burial venue,” said a cop, who spoke in confidence.

How Bauchi DPO tortured, killed two suspects, maimed one Over chicken theft

When Ibrahim Kapala, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulwahab Bello were arrested by the police in Bauchi on suspicion of stealing chickens, they had no idea all their lives were going to be on the line as a murderous DPO, Superintendent Baba Ali Mohammed, allegedly beat two of them to death.

With two broken legs, Abdulwahab Bello considers himself lucky to be alive after seeing a police officer beat his two friends, Ibrahim Kapala and Ibrahim Babangida to death in Bauchi.

The three men were apprehended for stealing chickens belonging to a retired police officer.

Abdulwahab did not know that the chickens were stolen.

He did not imagine that they would nearly cost him his life and the lives of his two friends.

“I was on my way when I met two of my friends, Ibrahim Kapala and Ibrahim Babangida, who were looking for buyers of chickens and I suggested a customer at the Muda Lawal Market.

“I didn’t know that they were stolen chickens,” he said.

After accompanying his friends to sell the chickens, he went about his business until he saw a team of policemen in a tricycle alongside his friends.

He was arrested and driven to the Township Police Station, in Doya Area of Bauchi where the police also brought the man who had bought the chickens.

Apparently, Ibrahim Kapala and Ibrahim Babangida had broken into the home of a retired police officer and stole five chickens.

The owner reported that they had taken 24 chickens but would later say he had found 13 of them.

The DPO, Superintendent of Police, Baba Ali Mohammed, however, seemed to have taken the theft as personal and demanded payments for the chickens, alongside bail money from the suspects.

“They said that we should pay the money for the chickens and my mother brought them N4, 000,” Bello said.

“The DPO told my mother to pay another N2, 000 for my bail before I would be released.”

Since his mother did not have any other money to give the police, Bello was detained alongside the other suspects despite paying for the chickens.

However, their real ordeal was about to begin.

“We were ordered out of the cell and he asked us to go behind his office where the DPO asked us to lie face down on the ground.

“He ordered that Ibrahim Kapala should be tied up,” he said.

Bello, and his friend Ibrahim Babangida, watched SP Baba Ali Mohammed went and fetched a broken pestle which he used to beat Ibrahim Kapala, who was tied up.

He struck the victim on the legs and broke both his legs while other policeman stood by and watched.

“In the process of beating him, he was saying that from today stealing chickens has ended and he continued beating him until he fainted.

“After he fainted, he started kicking him with his foot even though he was unconscious, until he died,” Bello said.

The DPO ordered for the next suspect to be brought forward.

“Immediately he was brought, he descended on him also and broke his legs by using that same pestle.

“He also used it to hit him on his chest and his back.

“The victim too fainted,” Bello said.

With the two suspects lying lifeless on the ground and the DPO screaming at them “to die,” Bello feared that he too would suffer the same fate.

“When it came to me, he used the same pestle to hit me continuously and broke two of my legs where I sustained two fractures on one leg,” he said.

Tourist provokes outrage after taking pictures of herself grabbing a tiger’s BALLS

A tourist provoked outraged after taking pictures of herself grabbing a tiger’s testicles.

Khun Waraschaya took the selfies at the Tiger Kingdom zoo in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand on August 26.

Pictures of the stunt emerged online and she was criticised by angry locals, who accused her of “humiliating” the animal.

One person wrote: ”This is so rude. The tiger did not allow you to touch his privates. You have no right to do that."

Another said: "This is dangerous. If the tiger had reacted angrily it could have attacked you."

Waraschaya defended herself and insisted she was an animal lover.

Pirom Cahntama, head of the facility’s zookeepers, said that staff are trained to take care of guests and tigers and that they monitor interactions closely.

Pirom said: "We do not allow tourists to grab the tigers' testicles but they are allowed to touch any part of the animal's body as long as our specialists are present.

"From now on, we will make sure that no visitor will ever be able to touch this part of a tiger's body again."

New treatment which helps women achieve orgasms is gradually making waves around the world

A revolutionary new treatment which promises to help women achieve orgasms is making waves in the s.e.x industry.

An orgasm shot, or the O-shot, is a treatment which is believed to increase the size of the G-spot, clitoris and labia.

It supposedly treats sexual dysfunction and increases sexual pleasure providing a woman with an orgasm.

Following the treatment, some women report to reaching an orgasm after receiving the O-shot.

The procedure takes around 40 minutes and it is thought the effects could last about a year.

This treatment stimulates growth of new cells and makes the injected area more sensitive.

Platelets containing the patient's own blood is taken from their arm before being put in a special centrifuge.

Then this produces "high quality" Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

Once this is ready, it is then injected into specific areas of the vagina.

Patients can just have one shot or return for more which could build on the existing PRP.

The O-shot starts working in about 6-8 weeks, because the PRP takes time to restore some of the nerve endings in the vagina.

According to experts, the O-shot doesn't just promise intense orgasms, it even boosts sex lives too.

Dr Mike Shenouda, founder of the O-Shot clinic in Sydney, spoke about the treatment.

He said: "After the O-Shot, women experience greater arousal from clitoral stimulation, stronger and more frequent orgasms, increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm and an overall increased sexual desire.

"In addition, the O-Shot increases natural lubrication and decreases urinary incontinence."

The procedure works about 80% of the time and could cost around £965 in London but cost varies by location and doctor.

It is believed some women have reported vaginal sensitivity and sustained and excessive orgasms at the slightest stimulation.

Potential side effects include temporary vaginal spotting, swelling, hypersensitivity, yeast infection and urinary tract infection.

However there have been no significant side effects reported in all the countries where the procedure is performed.

Man suffers multiple injuries on his bum after toilet seat shatters while he was using it

A Chinese man needed 20 stitches on his buttocks after he claimed the toilet he was sitting on shattered during use – and now he faces a hefty bill for repairs.

The unfortunate man, identified only by his surname Mr Li, suffered the unpleasant-sounding injury while staying at the Dachang Hotel in the city of Taiyuan in the northern Chinese province of Shanxi on August 25.

However the hotel owner is reportedly demanding Mr Li pays him for breaking the toilet – claiming the guest was using it incorrectly by squatting on top of it instead of remaining seated.

Mr Li denies this.He told Shanxi Radio and Television: “My injuries are very serious.

"I can barely stand and have a huge gash on my buttocks.

“I needed over 20 stitches. Two layers of stitches!

“I had only just sat on it. I hadn’t even done my business before it shattered!”

Mr Li, who was in Taiyuan for work reasons, said the hotel owner paid £87 in medical bills, but then changed his mind and now wants the money back.

He is also demanding that the guest buys him a new toilet.

The owner, who has not been named, told the provincial TV station: “Toilets are for sitting on, not for squatting on while you relieve yourself."

“There are still shoe marks on the toilet seat," he added.

"I haven’t touched a single thing yet.

“He squatted on the edge of the toilet bowl, and then the toilet flipped and shattered as he tried to get off.”

Mr Li denies squatting on the toilet and the pair are still locked in in a dispute over any potential compensation, the report said.

Ship carrying 42 crew, thousands of cattle feared lost off Japan

Rescuers in Japan were searching on Thursday for a ship carrying 43 crew and nearly 6,000 cattle that was feared sunk after it sent a distress signal during stormy weather in the East China Sea.

Japan's coastguard said one person had so far been found in a search involving four vessels and several planes.

The rescued crew member, 45-year-old Filipino Sareno Edvarodo, told the coastguard that the Gulf Livestock 1, a 139-metre Panamanian-flagged vessel, capsized after losing an engine.

The cargo ship sent a distress call from the west of Amami Oshima island in southwestern Japan on Wednesday as the region experienced strong winds, heavy seas and torrential rain from Typhoon Maysak as it headed towards the Korean Peninsula.

Japan's coastguard said P-3C surveillance aircraft spotted Edvarodo, who was the ship's chief officer, on Wednesday night. He was wearing a life vest and waving while bobbing up and down in the water.

According to Edvarodo, who is able to walk and in good health, the ship lost an engine before it was hit by a wave and capsized, a coastguard spokeswoman said.

When the ship capsized, the crew were instructed to put on lifejackets. Edvarodo said he jumped into the water and did not see any other crew members before he was rescued.

The crew included 39 people from the Philippines, two from New Zealand and two from Australia, the coastguard said. Pictures provided by the agency showed a person in a lifejacket being hauled from choppy seas in darkness.

The Gulf Livestock 1 left Napier in New Zealand on August 14 with 5,867 cattle and 43 crew, bound for the Port of Jingtang in Tangshan, China. The journey was expected to take about 17 days, New Zealand's foreign ministry told the Reuters news agency.

New Zealand animal rights organisation, Save Animals From Exploitation (SAFE), said the tragedy demonstrated the risks of the live animal export trade.

"These cows should never have been at sea," said the campaigns manager, Marianne Macdonald.

"This is a real crisis, and our thoughts are with the families of the 43 crew who are missing with the ship. But questions remain, including why this trade is allowed to continue."

Meanwhile, on the Korean Peninsula, one woman was killed in the South Korean city of Busan when a strong gust of wind shattered her apartment window after Maysak made landfall.

More than 2,200 people were evacuated to temporary shelters, and around 120,000 homes were left without power across southern parts of the peninsula and on Jeju island.

The typhoon also brought heavy downpours across the north, and North Korea's state media have been carrying live broadcasts of the situation, with one showing a reporter standing in a street inundated with water in the port town of Wonsan.

But authorities lifted their typhoon warning as the storm weakened and moved towards China.

"The typhoon will pass through Musan and leave our country," a meteorological officer told Korean Central Television. "I don't expect any effects."
