BBNaija's Erica releases official statement after BBN show

Big Brother Naija reality star Erica Nlewedim, has officially dropped a statement on her timeline, since her disqualification from the game.

The actress and social media sensation was overwhelmed by the number of fans she has garnered in less than 3 months, amounting to 800,000 plus followers on Instagram.

Her early exit from the show, was due to a fall out she had with fellow housemate Laycon, who told other contestants that she kissed him and Erica called him demeaning names.

She stated that she went into the house with her strength and weaknesses, and is learning to get familiar with her new reality.

She wrote;

OVERWHELMED.

They say, It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves

July 19th was the beginning of the rest of my life when I took the decision to be on the Bigbrother show.

Excited as I was, I couldn’t fathom what the future held. I stepped into the house as an open book, believing in my strengths and weaknesses which I bore for the world to see.

I was confident that these will enable me navigate through life in the house. Nothing however prepares you for the events of life except the experiences and the onus was on me to learn and live.

My experiences were at an equilibrium as I made the best of friends, honed existing skills, discovered new ones, lived in the moment and partied away. However, my sad times took precedence and my journey was shortened.

It was a really sad moment for me because I knew I had not only let my self down but an entire army and family called the Elites.

The Elite League stood by me all through, all 800k of them and counting and I couldn’t be more grateful for you all. I love you guys so much.

Life threw lemons at me and the Elite league made Margaritas with it lol 🥂I couldn’t be more grateful for the genuine love, time, prayers, energy, emotions and passion with which you carried my matter, a total stranger. Because of you, Erica Nlewedim the fairly known actress is now dubbed STAR GIRL ⭐Indeed, It was never in the stars to hold my destiny because the STAR IS ME⭐️.

To all my amazing stars out there, thanks for being there all there all the way. Now we shine!!!

Thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Police arrest 17 armed hoodlums terrorizing Lagos residents

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of 17 suspected hoodlums believed to be terrorizing residents of the State.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi (mnipr), in a statement on Monday, said the police got the hoodlums arrested in a bid to raid cultism, hooliganism, and violent crimes and neutralize various groups of deadly armed hoodlums, cultists and miscreants, who are fond of causing pains and agonies to innocent residents, especially, Lagosians, within the State.

He said: “Premised on the Lagos State Police Command’s proactive measures to curbing crimes, the Police operatives attached to Orile Division of the Command, on Monday 14th September, 2020, arrested 17(seventeen) armed hoodlums, who were attacking, harassing and dispossessing members of the public of their belongings around Amosun, Zion, Mosalasi and Ikale Street in Sasi Iganmu area of Lagos State, with dangerous weapons.

“Based on the preliminary findings by the police, the hoodlums have not been linked to any of the existing cult groups in Lagos, but have various factions that foment troubles, engage in crimes and social vices and free-for-all in the areas.”

Former Kardashian nanny advises family to keep their children out of the spotlight after KUWTK axe

A former nanny to the Kardashian-Jenner family has urged Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob and Kylie to keep their children out of the spotlight after they announced they're ending Keeping Up With The Kardashians' 14-year run.

Pam Behan lived with the famous clan from 1991 until 1996 after looking after Caitlyn's sons Brandon and Brody with Linda Thomspon, but sources close to the family claim she was fired for demonstrating inappropriate behaviour.

The Minnesota-born carer admitted she wasn't 'surprised' to find out that sports star Caitlyn, 70, heard they were pulling the plug on the series 'on the news' as she claimed her ex-wife Kris, 64, was 'incredibly controlling' and 'ran the show'.

'I’d like to give them advice to say, make it about them right now, while they're young. I know I wouldn’t want my child in the spotlight 24/7, every move', Pam said in a new interview with The Mirror.

The nurse - who is set to write a tell-all book called Malibu Nanny - also alleged matriarch Kris 'was the driving force' behind their stardom as she 'thrives being in the limelight'.

She added: 'Your kids are young once, only once – make it about them. And then there are always crazies out there who could kidnap them. You have to be so careful and protect them at all costs, that’s part of it. They chose to get into this life but their kids were born into it. I guess, and hope, that’s one reason they’re getting out.'

Poosh founder Kourtney, 41, shares Mason, 10, Penelope, eight, and Reign, five, with ex Scott Disick, while businesswoman Kim, 39, has North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, 16 months, with musician Kanye West.

Khloe, 36, welcomed baby daughter True with on-off partner Tristan Thompson two years ago, and her younger brother Rob, 33, has Dream, three, with former stripper Blac Chyna.

Model Kendall, 25, has no children, and make-up mogul Kylie, 23, shares her only child, daughter Stormi, with hip-hop star Travis Scott.

Nigerian l.e.s.b.i.a.n movie dares Censors Board, set for release

Nigerian l.e.s.b.i.a.n movie “Ife” produced by Pamela Adie and directed by Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim is set for release despite stern warning from Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) that the film (which means “love” in Yoruba language violates the country’s strict laws on homo.s.e.xuality.

But according to a report by BBC, the filmmakers are determined to get the film across to the Nigerian audience. To get around, the report says the filmmakers are planning a surprise online release to catch the regulators off-guard.

However, according to BBC in its report, the Censors Board is well aware and diligently monitoring all digital platforms to checkmate the release of the movie.

According to the Censors Board boss, Adebayo Thomas, both the producer and the director, and indeed all involved in the film could be risking jail terms of 14 years sentence for promoting homosexuality in a country where same-s.e.x relationships are forbidden.

BBC in the report says the filmmakers are planning a private screening in Lagos at the end of the month for which they feel they do not need the nod of the regulators to go ahead. It was also reported that the film is being billed for international premiere in Canada in October of this year.

BBC quotes the producer, Adie as saying the film was to show an accurate picture of lesbian and bi.s.e.xual women in Nigerian movies

If a lesbian woman does appear in a standard Nollywood movie they are often portrayed as being possessed, influenced by bad friends or forced into homosexuality and always needing “saving”, she told the BBC.

“You rarely see stories about LGBT people, especially about queer women that speak to the realities of our lives. “Ife was made to bridge the gap and to get the conversation going in Nigeria.”

“Ife” is a story about two women, played by Uzoamaka Aniunoh and Cindy Amadi falling in love as they spend three days together. They “then have their love tested by the realities of being in a same-s.e.x relationship in a country like Nigeria”, according to the publicity for the film.

“Before now, we have been told one-sided stories. What we are doing with this film is normalising the queer experience, we are normalising the LGBT romance. It will begin to erase that shame that LBQ [lesbian, bisexual and queer] women face,” Adie told the BBC.

The l.e.s.b.i.a.n, g.a.y, bis.e.xual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community in Africa is becoming increasingly vocal and visible, thanks to the internet providing a space for films, talk shows and websites.

But that has not stopped filmmakers from getting into trouble with authorities. The head of the NFVCB said there was no space for Ife or other homos.e.x.ual movies in Nigeria, citing the law.

“There’s a standing law that prohibits homosexuality, either in practice or in a movie or even in a theatre or on stage. If it’s content from Nigeria, it has to be censored,” Mr Thomas told the BBC.

He said that whatever the platform was, “as long as it’s Nigerian content and it’s telling a Nigerian story, then we have a right to it”.

But there is no plan for large-scale screenings of Ife in Nigerian cinemas or selling the DVD, as the producers want to make it available online as pay-on-demand.

But even that will get them into trouble with the regulators.

“If it did not pass through NFVCB and it is released, the filmmakers will be prosecuted according to the law,” Mr Thomas said. As long as it’s Nigerian content, we will pull it down because we have collaborations with Google, YouTube and other key players.”

But that has not deterred the producers and Adie says her team will continue as planned, as they believe they have done nothing wrong and do not plan to seek permission for an online release.

This is not the first time an LGBTQ-themed movie has fallen foul of regulators on the continent.

“Stories of Our Lives”, a collection of five short films based on stories of LGBTQ life in Kenya was banned in 2014 for being “contrary to national norms”.

This was also the fate of Rafiki, Kenya’s first film about a l.e.s.b.i.a.n relationship, which went on to be the East African nation’s first film to premiere at the Cannes film festival and also receive an Oscar nomination.

“Inxeba/The Wound”, a South African film about a relationship between two men in the context of the Xhosa initiation ritual was also banned from mainstream South African cinemas in 2018.

Despite the set-backs, some in the LGBTQ community in Africa say they are gradually gaining confidence and acceptance and link it to the increased visibility in films and literature which are encouraging greater tolerance among younger generations.

Former KFC employee now earns over N70m a year by selling her sexy photos online

A former KFC employee is now earning £120,000 (N70,800,000) a year by selling sexy snaps of herself online.

Beth Spiby used to spend her time cooking fried chicken and working at M&S in the Trafford Centre, Manchester.

But after a brief taste of “fame”, her life looks a lot different now.

The 24-year-old appeared in a three-part documentary about KFC back in 2015, called Billion Dollar Chicken Shop.

She was also a contestant on E4 reality show Shipwrecked.

These TV jobs have helped Beth to build her online profile, which is probably one of the reasons her OnlyFans career has taken off.

Beth set up an OnlyFans page in December 2016 and grew her following to 1,000 in a week – allowing her to quit her job with M&S.

The former fast food worker now lives in Australia with her girlfriend.

She makes between £10,000 and £15,000 a month from the site, which has over 13 million subscribers.

Beth says she find her work 'empowering' - and has made so much money on the site she has decided to travel the world

Davido is definitely known for good music but he is also good in creating a buzz on the internet.

And recently, he did it again by stating that he is better than Wizkid.

Since Davido dropped his first single of the year, “FEM,” in September, social media platforms have been awash with speculations of whether he was throwing shade at Burna Boy or Wizkid.

However, with “FEM” now making great numbers across all streaming platforms, drama started when a Wizkid fan identified as Seyi accused Davido of buying views on Youtube as the visuals hit over 3 million views in just 24 hours.

“When the hype is down, we’ll talk about how Davido pulled the biggest heist on YouTube with Fem,” Seyi wrote on Twitter.

Davido responded telling the fan to accept that he is bigger than his favorite artiste.

“Just accept IM BIGGER THAN UR FAVE“.

The fan fired back proudly stating that he is a Wizkid fan. “My fave is Wizkid Ayo Balogun! Stop capping.”

Davido responded again saying he meant it when he said that he is bigger than his favorite artsite. “Calm down why u shouting … I SAID WHAT I SAID“

Customer shoots man dead over Shawarma in Alagbado

A yet-to-be-identified suspect is on the run after allegedly shooting one Kayode Oloruntoba in the stomach at a food joint in the Alagbado area of Lagos State on Friday.

Efforts to save Oloruntoba by some good Samaritans, including his friend, Kazeem Okikiola, proved abortive, as he died.

Okikiola on Friday, September 11, went to Avid Bar at Alagbado to buy Shawarma and called Oloruntoba to join him.

While waiting for the Shawarma seller to attend to him, it was learnt that Okikiola got into an argument with another customer, who also wanted to buy the snack.

The argument, which centred on who should be served first, however, degenerated into an altercation and out of annoyance, the suspect left the spot, entered his car and drove away.

A few minutes later, Oloruntoba met Okikiola at the spot and while they waited for the Shawarma, the suspect reportedly returned, brought out a gun and shot in the direction of the two friends.

The bullet was said to have hit Oloruntoba in the stomach, while the suspect fled.

A resident, who identified himself as Chinedu, said the suspect mistakenly shot the 35-year-old.

“He actually thought that he shot the person (Okikiola) he argued with. Unfortunately, the bullet hit the wrong person. Immediately, the suspect got back into his car and drove away,” he added.

Another resident, Seyifunmi Akinola, said a native doctor assisted in removing the bullet from Oloruntoba’s body, adding that he died while being rushed to hospital for further treatment.

Akinola said, “Immediately the incident happened, his friends rushed him to the Merit Hospital where he was rejected because there was no police report. He was later referred to the General Hospital, Otta, Ogun State, where he was cleaned up and transferred to the General Hospital in Abeokuta.

“But instead of taking him to Abeokuta, they took him to a native doctor to remove the bullet from his body and returned him to the General Hospital in Otta, but he was rejected. He died on the way to another hospital.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said six suspects, including Okikiola, were being questioned over the incident.

Adejobi said, “After the shooting, his friend and witness, Kazeem Okikiola, who had earlier called Oloruntoba to join him at the Shawarma spot, refused to report the incident to the police, but rather took the deceased to a herbalist in Ogun State, where they extracted the pellets from his body.

“He later took Oloruntoba to his brother’s house in the Ipaja area of Lagos State, where he died. As a follow up to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, directed that police detectives be mobilised to hunt the suspects linked to the killing.

“During the investigation, the owner of the Shawarma spot, Chimezie Amaechi; the deceased’s friend, Kazeem Okikiola; the Manager of the Avid Bar, Olayinka Oyedokun, and his friends, Femi Victor, Taiwo Morokola, and Omole Wasiu were arrested. These suspects are giving useful information that can assist the police in the investigation.

“Meanwhile, the CP, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, to take over the case for discreet investigation.”

BBNaija 2020: Nengi liked me, Ozo was threatened – Kiddwaya

Evicted Big Brother Naija housemate, Kiddwaya, has said Nengi liked him in the house.

Kiddwaya, who disclosed this to Ebuka on Monday, said he liked Nengi too because she was free and playful.

He also revealed that he was a threat to her relationship with Ozo and he (Ozo) had met him several times to ask what was going on between them.

“Nengi is very playful and I like that about her. It got to a point when I thought she was taking it too far. I wondered why she was hitting me with a bottle because on a normal day we won’t be in the same room.

“Nengi liked me for sure, I felt she went too far with her play. I liked her a lot, I think she is free and I told her several times that she will go far and I have no issue with her.

“Ozo was definitely threatened by me. He told me severally that he spoke to her about me but I can’t do anything because that is between him and his God.”
