Nollywood actor and model Alex Ekubo, 34, was recently named a chief at the just ended Iri-ji festival as the Ikuku of Amumara Town, Mbaise.
The Iri-ji Festival is the New Yam Festival of the Ibo people in Nigeria.
It is an annual cultural festival held every year at the end of the rainy season.
Alex has now asked his fans to start addressing him as a chief because the title is official and not a nickname. Captioning the video, he wrote;

BBNaija housemate, Nengi on Sunday night gave reasons she refused to accept Ozo’s proposal to her.
Ozo during his stay in the Lockdown house made advances at Nengi, proposed a relationship but was rejected.
Nengi insisted everytime, saying she was not ready for a relationship.
Laycon during a conversation with Nengi asked why she refused to have a relationship with Ozo despite their closeness.

Former Newcastle star and Nigerian international, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins has joined Chinese club, Wuhan Zalln FC.
The 35-year-old joined Wuhan Zallan as a free agent two months after leaving Shangai Shenhua.
The experienced Nigerian footballer has had spells in Inter Milan, Newcastle, Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Seattle Sounders FC, Shangai Shenhua, and now Wuhan Zallan.
Martins addition to the Chinese Super League side is expected to add quality and depth to the club’s attacking option.

Jubilant residents of Benin City on Sunday trooped out to celebrate the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party over the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the Saturday poll.
Some of the residents mocked a former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole, who was the major promoter of Ize-Iyamu.
This was as a former member of the National Assembly from Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, also mocked Oshiomhole and the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Obaseki polled a total number of 307,955 votes to emerge winner of the poll while Ize-Iyamu scored 223,619 votes.
Obaseki had contested on the platform of the APC in 2016 governorship election against Ize-Iyamu who was then the candidate of the PDP and Obaseki won.
However, Obaseki and Oshiomhole, who is also a former National Chairman of the APC, fell apart and the crisis cost Obaseki the APC governorship ticket. Ize-Iyamu, who had defected to the APC ahead of the APC governorship primary election, was given the ticket.
While celebrating Obaseki’s victory on Sunday, Melaye said Oshiomhole had been reduced.
“Fellow countrymen and women, I salute you once again. I am reaching you directly from Edo. What we used to have as Osho Baba has now been reduced, downgraded and degraded to Osho pikin. Nobody should call Osho Baba again, never! The only thing you now have is Osho pikin…..
“How can you expect that a man with the umbrella will not win during the rainy session? Definitely, the PDP won. APC, how market? Oshiomhole, how market?” Melaye said before bursting into a song to mock Oshiomhole and Tinubu, who had released a video ahead of the election, urging the people of Edo to reject Obaseki.
“The dollars brought in a bullion van to Edo have gone down the drain,” Melaye added.
Also, some of Obaseki’s supporters said Oshiomhole should relocate to Lagos to join Tinubu to help him cope with the shame of the defeat.
Obaseki’s supporters called Oshiomhole many unprintable names, saying he became too arrogant after the people of Edo State compensated him to win the 2007 governorship in the state.
While dancing and singing, some of the youths said, “He (Oshiomhole) should relocate to be living with his godfather in Lagos.”
A driver, who identified himself as Lucky Godwin, said, “Edo no be Lagos; we told Oshio and his father that they will be humiliated and that has happened.”
A Lady among the supporters, who identified herself simply as Rose, said “This victory is sweet; e dey pepper Oshioo.”
A woman suspected of sending an envelope containing the poison ricin, which was addressed to White House, has been arrested at the New York-Canada border, three law enforcement officials told The Associated Press on Sunday.
The letter had been intercepted earlier this week before it reached the White House. The woman was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Peace Bridge border crossing near Buffalo and is expected to face federal charges, the officials said. Her name was not immediately released.
The letter addressed to the White House appeared to have originated in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have said. It was intercepted at a government facility that screens mail addressed to the White House and President Donald Trump and a preliminary investigation indicated it tested positive for ricin, according to the officials.
The officials were not authorised to discuss the ongoing investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
There have been several prior instances in which U.S. officials have been targeted with ricin sent through the mail.
A Navy veteran was arrested in 2018 and confessed to sending envelopes to Trump and members of his administration that contained the substance from which ricin is derived. The letters were intercepted, and no one was hurt.
In 2014, a Mississippi man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after sending letters dusted with ricin to President Barack Obama and other officials.
A 14-year-old secondary school pupil, Fathia Ojewoye, has been r*ped to death at the Agbeloba-Oriyonrin area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The teenager had on Wednesday been declared missing by her parents, but her corpse was found three days after with some of her personal effects in an uncompleted building in the area.
When Punch correspondent visited the residence of the deceased’s mother, who had separated from her husband, sympathisers were seen consoling her.
When Punch Metro attempted to speak to her, she asked to be left alone.
She, however, vowed to ensure that the killer(s) of Fathia, whom she gave birth to while in secondary school, was brought to justice.
A source in the area told Punch correspondent that Fathia was sent on an errand by her mother to refill the gas cylinder around the area, but she did not return home.
The teenager was reported to have been last seen with a young man, while she was going to the gas station.
The young man, who lives around the area, was said to have run away, apparently to avoid arrest.
It was gathered that her corpse was found in an uncompleted building near her grandmother’s residence.
She was reportedly defiled in a brutal way and later murdered by yet-to-be identified person(s).
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident.
Oyeyemi said investigation into the brutal killing of the teenager had commenced.
He gave an assurance that the command would ensure that the perpetrators were apprehended soon.
The police spokesman said the corpse had been deposited in the morgue of the State Hospital, Sokenu, Abeokuta.
Oyeyemi added that arrangement was being made to conduct an autopsy on the corpse.
Big Brother Housemate Ozo was evicted from the house a few hours ago after his supporters couldn’t vote to save him from eviction.
After Ozo left the house, Nengi was seen shedding uncontrollable tears. Housemates Dorathy and Laycon tried to console her and also help her so she can stop crying.
Just after an hour Ozo left the house, Big Brother gave the other housemates the chance to use the jacuzzi in the garden. Nengi who seems to be shedding tears after Ozo was evicted, was seen in the jacuzzi having mad fan with Laycon.
Nengi and Laycon were seen hugging, getting cozy and playing with each other as if nothing happened.
A woman in her early 30s and her 7-year-old daughter are receiving treatment at the Iten County Referral Hospital after they survived being killed by their loved one on Wednesday night. The incident happened at the deceased’s Kapterik Village home in Keiyo North, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya.
The woman’s husband, who suspected his partner was unfaithful, hit the mother-and-daughter’s heads with a huge stone, causing them serious injuries.
The man, identified as Samuel Barasa, also attacked his two other children, a 2-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son, who succumbed to their injuries.
The suspect, thereafter, committed suicide by hanging.
On Thursday 11am, youth, who had reported for Kazi Mtaani duties, found his body hanging from a rope tied to a tree near his homestead.
The youth, who positively identified the deceased, thereafter rushed to his home, where they found Barasa’s wife, Joyce Jerotich, and their three children lying in pools of blood.
Two of Baraza’s children were pronounced dead on arrival at the Iten County Referral Hospital, whereas his eldest child and wife, who were still alive, were admitted to critical care ward.
Keiyo North Deputy County Commissioner Julius Maiyo confirmed the incident to K24 Digital.
Bodies of the three family members were taken to Iten County Referral Hospital morgue.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Sunday, revealing that the new infections were recorded in 11 states and the FCT.
Of the new cases, 46 were recorded in Lagos, 12 were recorded in Kwara, 11 in Rivers, four in Adamawa, Niger, Ogun and Osun, three in Ekiti, Imo and Kaduna, two in Plateau and one in the FCT.
This brings the total infection recorded in the country to 57, 242 while 48,569 have recovered and 1,098 have died.
Thunder yesterday evening reportedly struck dead 15 cows at the outskirt of Ikogosi Ekiti community, Ekiti West Local Government area of Ekiti State.
The incident, according to Asaoye of Ikogosi, Chief Ayo Ademilua, was a natural occurrence, which he said was strange in the town.
Speaking with journalists via telephone today, Ademilua revealed that the incident happened at the Ikogosi Warm Spring site along Ipole -Ekiti road.
Ikogosi warm spring has been a notable recreational and tourist centre, where warm and cold spring converge.
The chief said the thunder was said to have struck during a torrential downpour that started around 4:00pm and ended at 6:02pm.
“The whole town shook when the thunder struck. Later, some commuters coming into town and those returning home from their farmlands saw the Fulani herders who disclosed that it was thunder that killed the cattle.”
President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the electoral process in Edo State which led to the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The president’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a Tweet today said Buhari also “commended the people of Edo State, the parties, candidates and security agencies for conducting themselves responsibly.”
In his reaction to the outcome of the election as announced by INEC, President Buhari said: “My commitment to free and fair elections is firm, because without free and fair elections, the foundation of our political and moral authority will be weak.”
“I have consistently advocated for free and fair elections in the country because it is the bedrock of true democratic order.
“Democracy will mean nothing if the votes of the people don’t count or if their mandate is fraudulently tampered with,” he said in a statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity.
