11-year old Muslim student threatens to BEHEAD his teacher

An 11-year-old school pupil in Germany threatened to behead his teacher in a chilling echo of last month's terror attack in France - a week after saying he approved of the Paris atrocity.

The boy made the violent threat in response to his teacher's warning that there would be consequences if parents failed to attend a meeting with teachers.

The pupil, who is Muslim, had previously said after a minute's silence for French school teacher Samuel Paty that 'you're allowed to kill someone who insults the Prophet, that's OK'.

When the school's headteacher called the boy's parents to raise the alarm, his mother retorted that the family did not hold such extreme views so the child must have picked them up at school.

The threat of violence at the Christian Morgenstern primary school in Spandau, a suburb of Berlin, came after the teacher had stressed the importance of a forthcoming parent's evening.

She told her class that the meetings were vital because they would allow problems to be raised, adding that there could be consequences for those who refused to take part.

In response to this, the boy said: 'If that happens because my parents didn't show up, then I'll do the same to you as that boy did to the teacher in Paris'.

When the Berlin school held a minute's silence for Paty, the same pupil who made the beheading threat responded by defending the killer's actions.

After that incident, he was spoken to by an imam who was taking part in the minute's silence and who told him that killing people could not be justified.

Following the beheading threat, headteacher Karina Jehniche phoned the boy's mother to arrange for the boy to be picked up and a meeting to take place.

'But the mother told me on the phone that he must have picked this up at school, because she and her husband didn't think that way,' the headteacher said.

Pupils in the boy's class were shocked by his behaviour, she said.

German chancellor Angela Merkel defended Macron after the French leader's defence of blasphemous cartoons caught him in an angry row with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who suggested Macron needed 'mental checks'.

'They are defamatory comments that are completely unacceptable, particularly against the backdrop of the horrific murder of the French teacher Samuel Paty by an Islamist fanatic,' Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

US election: President Trump begs for funds to settle debts

US President Donald Trump is soliciting for funds to settle his election expenses.

The President has set up a GoFundMe account tagged ‘election defence fund’ to solicit money.

According to the UK Guardian, Trump spent a little more money than he had, seeking re-election.

He spent to the tune of $1.6 billion which he now needs help in repaying.

The newspaper reports that those donating may believe that the fund would go towards battling the outcome of the election in court.

It reports that the part of the donations would be used in settling election expenses.

Donations can be made to two different funds, Trump’s personal fund, and his joint fund with his party, the Republican Party.

“President Trump needs YOU to step up to make sure we have the resources to protect the integrity of the election!” the wording on both funds says, which is featured in a huge pop-up on Trump’s re-election webpage.

It continues: “Please contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to the Official Election Defense Fund and to increase your impact by 1,000%

CAC deregisters firm linked to EndSARS activist

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), responsible for the incorporation of organisations and businesses in Nigeria, has announced the cancellation of the registration of Enough is Enough, a business organisation linked to one of the leaders of the #EndSARS protest.

“Further to cancellation of the Business Name registration “Enough is Enough BN 2210728”, the Corporate Affairs Commission wishes to inform the public that the proprietors of the cancelled Business name are:

OPAYEMI ADAMOLEKUN and BISOLA EDUN,” the CAC wrote on Wednesday afternoon.

“The name was cancelled based on the provisions of section 579 (2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).”

Ms Adamolekun, an activist, is the head of a non-governmental organisation, EiE, and is believed to be, alongside the NGO, the main target of the CAC.

The EiE, also called Enough is Enough Nigeria, began operations in January 2011 but was formally registered in July 2012.

The organisation has advocated against human rights violations in the past and actively participated in the #EndSARS protest against police brutality and the excesses of its Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The CAC first announced its decision on Tuesday.

In a couple of tweets on Tuesday evening, the CAC announced the de-registration of the business, with immediate effect, stating that the name is deceptive.

“Based on the provisions of Section 579 (2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, (CAMA), the Corporate Affairs Commission has cancelled the registration of the Business name “Enough is Enough BN 2210728” with immediate effect.”

The above section provides, amongst others, that the commission has the power to cancel the registration of a Business Name where the name is “deceptive or objectionable.”

According to the government agency, EiE was registered in 2012 to engage in General Contracts, Sales of Sport Equipment/Promotion but has “deviated from its main objectives over the course of time.”

“Consequently, the Commission has removed it from its database and advised the proprietors to surrender the certificate earlier issued to them,” the statement read.

Nigerian military Special Forces mock Police SWAT [video]

Some members of the military Special Forces (SF) heading to a mission took the police to the cleaners in a recording.

In the video, they are seen navigating on canoes being paddled by locals.

The lake, people and voices suggest a Northern terrain.

“Where is the SWAT that will come here. What have they seen, what do they know”, an operative said in pidgin English while filming.

It is unclear if the officers are from the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army or the Nigerian Navy.

Nigerians have been mocking the police since a training video of Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) personnel went viral.

Nnamdi Kanu not Igbo, family roots traced to Cameroon - Group

An Igbo group has asked Nigerians not to take statements credited to the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, seriously as he is from Cameroon and does not speak for Igbo people.

The group, which calls itself The Industrious People of Eastern Nigeria,IPEN was reacting to a statement credited to the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Wike wondered why Igbo people allowed criminals to speak on their behalf.

IPEN now stated that its members will no longer allow a man whose genealogy has been traced to Southern Cameroon to continuously cause disaffection between them and other ethnic nationalities.

In a statement distributed by Mediashop Naija, the group claimed that Nnamdi Kanu’s grandfather settled in Rivers state and later Afara Ukwu in Abia state in 1909.

The group claimed Kanu’s grandfather moved to Abia when he was ostracised from Mankon village in the Southern Cameroonian City of Bamenda.

It claimed Kanu’s grandfather Okwu Kanou was ostracized due to issues relating to mental illness.

Read the full statement by IPEN...

“The systematic infestation of the south eastern region with Nnamdi Kanu’s victim mentality is worrisome and has to be checked.

“Igbo people are not cowards neither are we timid. We are naturally daring. The igbo man does not run away from problems rather he is constantly in search of solutions.

“We do not run away from challenges, we compete and naturally dominate.

“Nnamdi Kanu wants Biafra simply because he lacks the mental, physical and emotional capacity required to succeed in a competitive society as ours.

“This personal lack of self-confidence and feeling of powerlessness which Nnamdi Kanu has systematically tried to pass on to our youths is un-igbo like and must be stopped.

“After the civil war, the Igbo man was left with nothing. Our abandoned properties in other parts of the country were taken over by people who never worked hard for it.

“We had to build our region from the scratch and today we have the biggest and most thriving economy among other ethnic groups in Nigeria.

“We have dominated trade and commerce in Nigeria and beyond. Neither Nnamdi Kanu nor his lineage has contributed to the economic growth of the igbo people.

“The Igbo man who has lived all his life doing business in Maiduguri did not tell you he wants to return. Neither did the one that owns fuel stations and other properties in Damaturu tell you he is not comfortable.

“But Nnamdi Kanu wants them to abandon their sweat and return to the East where he expects to Lord it over them.

“He has no verifiable business or source of income anywhere in the world but want to create problems for those with businesses in Lagos.

“The South-East remains the most developed among all regions in the country not because of Government presence but as a result of the industrious nature of the true Igbo man.

“Nigeria has its peculiar challenges, obstacles and limitations like can be found in many other societies.

‘But the igbo man has made it a habit to break these barriers and succeed everywhere we find ourselves.

‘Igbo people have excelled in all spheres of human endeavor in all parts of the world.

‘We have captains of Industries, sports men and women, people in the entertainment industries, academics of Igbo extraction that have left indelible footprints in the sands of time all over the world.

‘How do you imagine a tribe that produced the great Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Sam Mbakwe, the novelist and author of “Things Fall Apart”, Chinua Achebe, Philip Emeagwali, Prof Chuba Okadigbo, the former Secretary General of the Common Wealth, Emeka Anyaoku, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Late Prof. Dora Akunyili and Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala among others would have an Nnamdi Kanu as its spokesperson?

“Nnamdi Kanu has not even achieved what the likes of Christian Chukwu, Chioma Ajunwa, Kanu Nwankwo, Mikel Obi, Peter and Paul of Psquare, Flavour and Phyno achieved in the world of sports and entertainment to put him in a pedestal to speak for Ndi igbo

“All these people to mention but a few excelled within and outside the same Nigeria that Nnamdi Kanu could not.

“According to the group, “Nnamdi Kanu does not possess the necessary qualifications required to speak and cannot be said to be speaking for Ndi Igbo.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu does not speak for ndi Igbo and he does not control igbo as a tribe

“The group blamed the leadership vacuum created by greedy politicians in the South-East as the reason Kanu roamed the region unchecked.

“The group concluded by saying, that their primary objective was to fill up that vacuum and re-awaken the “can do” spirit of the Igbo man to enable the people take their pride of place in the Nigerian body-polity.”

Nurse whose job is to care for pregnant women and their babies arrested again on suspicion of murdering 8 babies

A healthcare worker has been rearrested on suspicion of murdering eight babies.

Neonatal nurse Lucy Letby is under investigation in connection with the attempted murder of nine other babies at the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

She is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

Cheshire Constabulary said the parents of all the babies have been kept fully updated on the latest development, which comes three years after an investigation was first launched.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hughes, who is in charge of the investigation, said: "In that time a dedicated team of detectives have been working extremely hard on this highly complex and very sensitive case doing everything they can as quickly as they can to identify what has led to these baby deaths and collapses.

"In July 2018, a healthcare professional was arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the deaths of 8 babies and the attempted murder of 6 babies at the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

"She was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

"In June 2019, the healthcare professional was re-arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the deaths of 8 babies and the attempted murder of 6 babies.

"She was also arrested in connection with the attempted murder of 3 additional babies.

"Today, as part of our ongoing enquiries, the healthcare professional has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the deaths of 8 babies and the attempted murder of 9 babies."

The deaths occurred between 2015 and 2016.

"This is an extremely difficult time for all the families and it is important to remember that, at the heart of this, there are a number of bereaved families seeking answers as to what happened to their children," Chief Inspector Hughes continued.

"Due to the nature of this investigation it is extremely challenging but it is important to remember that, despite the passage of time, it is very much active and ongoing.

“There are no set timescales and we remain committed to carrying out a thorough investigation.

Gunmen invade police station in Edo, kill 2 officers, loot armoury

Armed men have attacked the divisional police headquarters at Igueben, Edo State, carting away a large number of arms and ammunition and injuring two police officers in the process.

The two police officers, one inspector of police and a corporal, who were badly injured during the attack, were said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

It was learnt  that the suspected armed robbers on Tuesday came to the police station at about 8 p.m. on Monday and threw an object, believed to be dynamite, into the station before gaining access.

Following the explosion, the armed men, immediately they gained access to the building, headed for the armoury where the arms and ammunition were stolen.

Initial reports indicated that the two police officers died in the attack and their bodies deposited in the mortuary, however, the Edo State police command public relations officer, Chidi Nwabuzor said the officers were only wounded but not dead.

The attack, it was further gathered, had sparked serious protest in the locality as hundreds of youth have taken to the streets, calling on the government to probe the attack, which they believed was carried out by outsiders.

However, Mr Nwabuzor, in his reaction said, “On November 9, 2020 at about 19.30hrs, hoodlums suspected to be armed robbers invaded the police station at Igueben. Immediately, the police personnel mobilised to repel them

“During the gun duel, one of the suspected armed robbers was shot dead, two policemen were wounded and they were taken to the hospital. One motorcycle, suspected to belonging to the robbers was confiscated by the police. No police officer was killed in the attack,” the Edo State police spokesman added.

He assured that the police were doing their best to weed out criminal elements in that axis of the state capital, adding that normalcy had returned to that part of the state.

Johnny Depp to be paid $10m for his role in Fantastic Beasts 3 despite being asked to step down over wife beating issue

Johnny Depp will reportedly pocket his $10 million salary from his work on Fantastic Beasts 3 despite being axed after only filming one scene.

The 57-year-old Hollywood star was cut from the film by Warner Bros. after he lost a libel suit against The Sun in which they alleged he was a "wife beater."

The actor has only worked for one day on the new sequel to Fantastic Beasts, since filming began in London on September 30.

The Hollywood Reporter has said that Depp will still receive his full salary for playing Gellert Grindelwald in the JK Rowling series, despite being told that he would be leaving the franchise with immediate effect after the verdict in the libel trial.

The movie has also been delayed until July 15, 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic, after originally being slated for a November 12, 2021 release.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star reportedly had a pay-to-play provision in his contract, which meant that he would be paid in full regardless of what happened with the movie.

This included if the film was scrapped altogether or if Depp's character was played by another actor, with Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne among the favourites to replace him.

It has been reported that Warner Bros. did not axe Depp from the film but, instead, asked him to step down from his role in the franchise, which has taken $1.4 billion at the box office worldwide.

Depp took to Instagram last week to share his feelings on the issue and stated that "the allegations against [him] are false."

He added that his "life and career will not be defined by this moment in time".

Speaking to his fans, Depp added: "I’d like to thank everybody who has gifted me with their support and loyalty.

"I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days."

Warner Bros. said in a statement: "We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date."

Rahama Sadau breaks silence on blasphemy case

Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau has said that she has not been invited by the police nor sentenced to jail by any court.

The actress said this in reaction to a report that she’s being arrested and charged before a Sharia Court.

An Islamic schooler Lawal Gusau, who is also a security expert, had written a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on November 3, 2020, demanding that Sadau be investigated for posting a photo of herself wearing a backless gown.

Gasau said the indecent photo attracted blasphemous comments against Prophet Mohammed and this was capable of setting the country on fire.

However, Sadau in a statement released on Tuesday noted that she has not received any legal trial for whatever reason.

“I have received many messages that I have been arrested and sentenced to jail earlier today. I have no idea where the news emanated from. I’m therefore calling on people to stop spreading FAKE and unfounded stories.

“I haven’t received any police invitation or court trial. I’m reiterating this to well-wishers that I’m SAFE and FINE and I have never received any legal trial for whatever reason. To those trying to bank on this issue to create an unrest, Please give it a rest.

“It’s indeed a hard time for me. This is not the right time for FAKE NEWS. Much love to those who reached out, I’m grateful,” Sadau stated.

Breakdown of the fat pension received by Lagos state ex-governors

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu struck the right chord today when he announced he would submit a law very soon abolishing what critics have called the obscene pension package of former Lagos governors.

He said the move was necessary as state resources are dwindling.

The governor may also be doing so as the destruction of state assets by hoodlums in October will take many billions of naira to replace.

The pension law was passed by rubber stamp state assembly in 2007 as former Governor Bola Tinubu was ending his second term tenure.

Titled: The Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension) Law No 11 Official Gazette of Lagos State, 2007, the law has been copied by other states.

But states such as Zamfara and Bauchi have cancelled their own versions of the law.

And a court of law had ruled that that the law was illegal, as it is not in the constitution.

Beside, the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC said the governors are only entitled to 300 percent severance pay, as provided in Certain Political Office Holders and Judicial Officers Remuneration Act.

Under that act, former governors,, like lawmakers are entitled to 300% of their basic salary of N2, 223,705 amounting to N6,671,115 as severance pay.

The Lagos pension law for ex-governors states that former governors of the state are entitled to a house each in any location of their choice in Lagos and Abuja.

Section 2 of the law states that, “One residential house each for the governor and the deputy governor at any location of their choice in Lagos State and one residential house in the Federal Capital Territory for the governor on two consecutive terms.”

This means Akinwunmi Ambode, a one-termer is not entitled to a house in Abuja, but he is entitled to one in Lagos.

Only Tinubu and Fashola qualify for two houses, one in Lagos and the other in Abuja.

The law also provides for six new cars every three years, 100 per cent of the basic salary of the serving governor (N7.7m per annum), as well as free health care for himself and members of his family.

The law also says former governors will be entitled to:

*Furniture allowance, which is 300 per cent of their annual basic salary (N23.3m);

*House maintenance allowance, which is 10 per cent of basic salary (N778, 296);

FRSC impounds vehicle loaded with alleged stolen goats in Oyo

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS11.35, Egbeda Unit Command in Oyo State, has impounded a Sienna car with registration number KRD 815 GN loaded with allegedly stolen goats.

The FRSC Unit Commander in Egbeda, Assistant Corps Commander, Akeem Kareem, disclosed this while showing the goats and the vehicle to journalists on Tuesday in Ibadan.

Kareem said that the Sienna car loaded with the goats was abandoned on the road in front of FRSC office in Egbeda around 4.00 am when it had a burst tyre, and the driver of the car ran away.

The unit commander said that the FRSC officials met the car engine still running when they arrived at the scene and the goats inside the car were tied in the mouth with tape.

He said the vehicle was eventually removed from the road to prevent obstruction and road crashes.

Kareem said the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mrs Uche Chukwurah, had instructed him to hand over the goats and the vehicle to the police for further investigation since statutorily, FRSC could not investigate the matter.

“Road safety is everybody’s business.

“And, because of the insecurity in the country, anything we see on the road, we pick interest and make sure it is corrected before it gets out of control,’’ he said.

Kareem urged the public to always alert FRSC whenever they noticed any obstruction on the road in order to avoid avoidable accidents.
