Former Super Eagles midfielder, Christian Obodo, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Refinery Road, Warri in Delta State.

Obodo, 36, was abducted by the gunmen when he stopped by to buy bananas on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command,  Onome Onovawakpoyeya, told The Punch.

“Obodo was kidnapped at about 5pm on Sunday around Ishaka Hotel just along Refinery Road,” Onovawakpoyeya told The Punch.

“He was with his girlfriend when he was abducted. They both stopped by the road to buy bananas.”

She added that no demand has been made for his release.

This is the second time the former Udinese midfielder has been kidnapped by gunmen.

The former Nigeria international was abducted by unknown gunmen on June 9, 2012, on his way to church in Warri.

But the day after he was taken, police tracked his abductors to Isoko, just outside Warri, where they found Obodo and arrested some suspects.

The 2006 AFCON bronze medallist, who described his ordeal eight years ago as a “terrible experience”, miraculously escaped from the abductors, before nearby villagers and a vigilante group, rescued him and informed the police, who trailed the abductors to Isoko.

'Sexless' Michael Jackson was 'dumped by secret girlfriends for being impotent'

Devon-born Matt Fiddes became an unlikely confidante to Michael Jackson after being introduced by mutual friend Uri Geller in 1998.

Jackson hired the martial arts master to be his bodyguard, and the pair remained in contact right up until the star's death in 2009.

In his lifetime, Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley and Debbie Rowe and was linked to a slew of female celebrities including Whitney Houston, Brook Shields and Tatum O'Neal.

He also fathered children Prince and Paris with Debbie Rowe - although she claimed she was inseminated with donor sperm.

But by the time Jackson died, Matt said the Moonwalk creator's days of love making were far behind him.

According to Matt, his boss had lost his ability to have s.e.x as a result of prolonged drug use and lost his relationships with two women because of it.

“By the end he was impotent after all the years of abuse. He had two girlfriends then - one a member of staff at his house, the other a young woman," Matt told The Sun in 2012.

“But both relationships were falling apart when he died because he couldn’t perform in the bedroom. It was no wonder from the amount of prescription drugs he was on. And if he couldn’t get drugs, he would drink."

The fitness expert claimed Jackson downed half a bottle of whisky when his This Is It concerts at London's O2 were announced in 2009 just to cope.

What's more, he said Jackson was determined to keep details of his girlfriends a secret because he wanted to be seen as 'sexless' by fans.

“He didn’t want people to think of him as either a woman or man — he wanted to be ‘sexless’ because he thought it added to his mystery," he added.

In his prime, Michael Jackson was the image of power and health, performing body-contorting moves without so much as breaking a sweat.

But by the time of his death in June 2009, the singer had shrivelled to a mere 8st 10oz, his body ravaged by surgery, prescription drugs and an apparent battle with anorexia.

The star's autopsy report made for horrifying reading, revealing Jackson, 50, had nothing but partially dissolved pills in his stomach after reportedly surviving on just one tiny meal a day.

His hips, thighs and shoulders were covered in puncture marks from what were believed to be from painkiller injections.

Jackson's lips had been tattooed pink while his eyebrows were black tattoos and the front of his scalp had also bizarrely been tattooed black to blend with his hairline.

Meanwhile, the star's knees and shins were mysteriously bruised and he had cuts on his back, suggesting a recent fall. His body was also mottled with areas of light and dark skin, confirming he did indeed suffer from pigmentation disease vitiligo.

But more disturbingly, his wavy, shoulder-length hair was found to be a wig that had been glued onto his head.

Beneath it, Jackson was completely bald apart from patches of 'peach fuzz' on his scarred scalp.

Jackson is believed to have first started wearing a wig after his hair caught fire during filming for a 1984 Pepsi commercial, leaving him with second and third degree burns.

The shoot at LA's Shrine Auditorium required him to dance down a short flight of stairs as fireworks were let off around him.

But a technical problem during the sixth take saw the pyrotechnics explode too early, causing sparks to ignite Jackson's heavily gelled hair before it burst into flames.

The star ended up being carried out by a stretcher, with a bald, burning patch above his left ear clearly visible.

It has often been speculated that the accident was the beginning of the singer's pill addiction.

He was prescribed severe pain killers to cope with the agony of the burns to his scalp and face and went on to become hooked on prescription medication - a dependency that would ultimately kill him.

His brother Tito previously told the Mirror: "He had been taking pain medicine because of the burns and evidently he got some kind of addiction from it."

EndSARS: I was a victim of police brutality -Governor Fayemi

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday described the EndSARS protest as a noble course, saying It was supported in Ekiti not because of those involved, but for the reason behind the action.

Fayemi, who disclosed he had been a victim of police brutality in the past, said that he would join other good intentioned Nigerians to take the youth’s EndSARS agitations serious.

This was as the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Chief Adeniyi Adebayo, assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari would listen and implement all the demands made by the youth during the EndSARS protest.

They spoke in Ado Ekiti on Sunday during an interaction session held by stakeholders’ on the recent #EndSARS protest that resonated panic across the country.

Governor Fayemi said the case of police brutality was one issue that affects every fact of the society, revealing that he was a victim in 2014 while seeking reelection.

Fayemi , who was defeated in the June 21, 2014 election by his predecessor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, had prior to the election allegedly teargased by a team police operatives at Mugbagba area of Ado Ekiti while some APC governor were prevented from entering the state to campaign for him having been allegedly stopped by security agencies at the borders.

Describing the youths as the engineroom of the nation’s economy, Governor Fayemi stated that there was need for the governments to partner the youth for sustainable peace and development . “The EndSARS protest was a noble course .

It was supported here in Ekiti not because of those involved, but for the reason behind the action which we believe would help the police to put their house in order.

“The youth protest in Ekiti was well intentioned and peaceful. Right to peaceful protest is an inalienable right. For the first time we have panel of inquiries at every level of government to tackle our issues. We must not resort to violence as a solution to our agitations. We must all speak in unison against violence as we did in unison against Police brutality.

“Our youth are angry , because as they were coming out of closure of schools over Coronavirus pandemic , they entered into ASUU strike, then there is hunger in the land and the harsh economic situation in our country. “The government has done many intervention programmes and had proscribed SARS and introduced youth investment fund and many others as a response to the youth agitations.

“I commiserate with the families of those who paid the supreme price. We identify with them. The panels that we set up will look into the reasons behind the protest and how best to address the issues raised, because EndSARS protest had placed a moral burden on all of us that we must be vigilant. “I am a victim of police brutality myself.

You could all recall what happened to me during my election of 2014. But some policemen had also rendered good services to me, so not all of them are bad.

“Our police must be motivated to do well. Policemen must be well remunerated . There must be good motivation for the police to be able to to discharge their duties effectively” .

Trump says Biden won but again refuses to concede

Donald Trump has insisted he is not conceding the US election, despite seemingly acknowledging for the first time that Democrat Joe Biden had won.

"He won because the Election was Rigged," he wrote on Twitter but minutes later said he was not conceding that he lost the 3 November election.

Mr Trump also repeated unsubstantiated claims of widespread election fraud.

He has launched a slew of lawsuits in key states but has not provided any evidence to back his claims of fraud.

All the lawsuits have so far been unsuccessful.

On Friday, election officials said the vote was the "most secure in American history" and there was "no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes or was in any way compromised".

Nevertheless, Mr Trump had refused to acknowledge Mr Biden's victory until - apparently - now.

With a badly battered , swollen face, lacerations and bruises on her head, Nwanyawu said her ordeal began when she traveled to her husband’ s hometown, Omualu community and overheard the Councillor, his sister and a male relative, shouting on top of their voices in an intense argument.

She said Blackson and other persons then accused her of witchcraft and vowed to deal with her.

“I was surprised. The next thing I saw was that the three of them came at me, saying I was disturbing them and that I was a witch. They said anytime I come back, the house would not rest. I said how?

“They pounced on me and gave me a beating of my life. Just look at me. Their plan was to eliminate me. After beating me and locking me up, one went outside, brought a chair and used it to hit my head twice. When he ( councilor ) saw that blood was gushing out, he drove off . Others also left. With the blood, I shouted for help. They all said their brother is a Councilor and Leader of Etche legislative Assembly and nothing will happen.

“I am calling for people to help me to seek justice. My husband , I trained him from secondary school to University. He lived with me for years when my children were small. I paid his last school fees and he promised that when he graduated, he would ensure my children did not suffer .

“I was asking him,’ is this the promise you gave me?’ Look at how he made me. He wanted to send me to an early grave,” Nwanyawu said.

She claimed her husband has been ill because he was traumatized by the incident.

In his reaction, the accused Councillor, in a telephone interview aired on a radio station ( Nigeria Info 92 .3 FM , Port Harcourt) claimed that his brother’s wife insulted him .

“The woman keeps insulting me every day, when I have not had any issue with her. Your father called me; I say I am not regretting my action. I have tolerated more than I can bear,” he stated .

Blackson claimed the victim has been disparaging his reputation in the social media and that he would seek redress in court for remedies.

Meanwhile, right advocacy groups are demanding justice for the brutalised woman.

Prince Wiro, a Port Harcourt based rights activist enjoined the Police to ensure that the woman gets Justice.
