Sporadic shooting in Surulere: Streets deserted, residents flee

Sporadic gunshots rocked Aguda, Surulere area of Lagos, today as business owners quickly closed their shops and fled.

Some streets in the area are deserted as suspected cultists armed with locally made guns stormed Cassette Bus Stop, Aguda, shooting sporadically to announce their presence.

An eyewitness who craved anonymity said  he and others were currently hiding somewhere and could see the hoodlums parading the area with guns.

The hoodlums are said to be prepared to engage a rivalry group in intense gun-battle in the area.

“Hoodlums fire several shots from locally made guns at Cassette Bus Stop, Aguda in Surulere preparatory to epic rival clash. Business owners lock up shops abruptly as residents scamper for safety,” an eyewitness spoke with Pm News from hiding around 3:14pm.

“We saw more than ten of the hoodlums gathering on Willy Omiyi Street, off Cassette bus stop. I also noticed that they kept the locally made guns at open space that supposed to be a car park aquired by a Catholic church in the area.

“We are yet to see RRS men in the affected parts of Aguda,” the eyewitness said.

12 Nigerian police officers kidnapped by suspected bandit– BBC

Suspected bandits have kidnapped 12 police officers along Katsina-Zamfara expressway, a report by BBC Hausa says.

According to the report, the officers, who are assistant superintendents of police, were kidnapped ten days ago.

The officers were on their way to Zamfara from Borno State to carry out a special assignment.

According to the news outlet, the wife of one of the victims said she did not hear from her husband for three days so she decided to report to his station in Borno State.

It was in the process that she was informed about the sad incident.

Another family member said they were contacted by the kidnappers and asked to pay N800,000 to secure the release of their relative.

Zamfara and Katsina states are amongst the North-west states most affected by the activities of bandits who have killed hundreds of people in the past few years and also kidnapped others.

The two states have seen frequent attacks from bandits in recent years, despite heightened security measure in the area.

Police spokesman, Frank Mba, did not respond to calls and a text message to confirm the incident, Premium Times says.

Giant rat infestation to 'overrun' historic town after council bans killing them

An historic town faces being "overrun" by a giant rat infestation after its council banned killing them.

Poison traps have been outlawed in Bradford upon Avon amid fears they could also kill protected species like birds of prey.

The Wiltshire town council has been branded "dangerous" after saying it "will, as far as the law allows, deny access to those engaged in, and otherwise prohibit, culling or hunting and other types of animal destruction on lands that it controls or manages".

It added that "where necessary, this will include deployment of nonlethal methods of rodent control on council lands".

The area's Wiltshire Council Unitary Authority says rat infestations are "a common problem in rural and urban areas" and carried out more than 1,200 exterminations last year.

Scott Mays, director of Wiltshire Pest Services, told the Telegraph: "Rats are pretty prevalent there [Bradford upon Avon] because of the old network of drains, lots of them get out of the sewers and they can get into properties by those means as well.

"The only non-lethal type of control would be a livecapture trap that would have to be checked every 24 hours.

"I don't quite know how that would work - the town would be overrun with rats.

Tim Bonner, chief executive of the Countryside Alliance, added the ban could put "people's health at risk" from a number rodent diseases.

He added it would "leave pest controllers with the ridiculous option of catching rats and releasing them to return to their food source.

"It is astonishing that a local council would seek to prevent the legal control of rodents and pests when the overwhelming evidence makes clear that it is necessary to do so to protect public health, particularly in a town located next to a river.

"This was a dangerous decision and in the interest of public health, Bradford on Avon council should urgently reverse it."

In a statement, the council said: "While rodents in significant quantities and in urban settings can, of course, present health and safety issues, we aim to prevent problems from occurring in the first instance, with regular monitoring and efficient waste management.

"This way we can avoid methods which could cause unnecessary suffering and distress, or the deployment of harmful chemicals."

Schoolboys hold fake wedding to avoid coronavirus rules

A pair of schoolboys tried to stage a fake wedding so they could hold a huge party.

But the students from Sydney, Australia were foiled when their parents discovered their scheme.

They wanted an afterparty for their Year 12 formal.

The number of partygoers would have been limited to just 30 due to state coronavirus restrictions, but the crafty pair realised weddings are allowed up to 150 guests.

So the two teenagers from Sydney Grammar School decided to throw a fake ceremony between them to get around the restrictions, according to 7NEWS.

By disguising the afterparty as a wedding it would have meant they could hold the huge celebration they wanted.

But their plot unravelled after a picture of the pupils apparently swapping vows was shared on social media.

The shot, which showed them smartly dressed holding hands, quickly went viral and they were rumbled, local media reported.

Their parents heard of the plan and quickly raced home to shut the party down.

They reportedly only heard about the plot when a neighbour texted them to congratulate them about their son’s wedding.

In a statement to The Daily Telegraph, the parents claimed it was "clearly a silly teenage idea".

The statement said: "No legally binding ceremony took place and we shut down the planned private celebratory event as soon as we found out about it, and thankfully, nobody was put at risk."

Both students have since apologised for the prank.

No fines were issued to the boys as no party went ahead in the end.

One local praised the boys for their idea, which they described as "clever".

But others blasted them, adding the reason the rules are in place is to "protect everyone".

Strange disease kills over 50 in Kogi State - Lawmaker cries out

Over 50 persons have been said to have lost their lives to a strange illness in Olamaboro Local Government area of Kogi State.

The disease which is still unknown is said to come with symptoms such as headache, red eye, loss of appetite, inability to urinate or defecate, convulsion, and finally death.

The lawmaker representing Olamaboro Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Ujah Anthony Alewo who disclosed this in a motion of urgent public importance presented at the floor of the house on Tuesday said it was sad and quite disturbing that the residents of Etteh Community in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State were thrown into confusion by the outbreak of an epidemic alien to them.

Although the lawmaker maintained that the causes of the disease are still unknown, he noted that the infected patient dies within one week of contracting the disease.

According to him, “more worrisome, all efforts to get solutions using the local herbs and treatment at local health centres with referrals to neighboring clinics and hospitals at Ogugu and Okpo in Olamaboro respectively was not successful.

“The reports reaching my constituency office from the community leaders confirmed that over 50 people within the economic and productive age of 25 to 40 years died from September to date.

“Thereby stalling agricultural, social, and economic activities which directly affect the food security of the agrarian and artisan Etteh people.”

He prayed that the house should mandate its Committee on Health and Social Services for an on-the-spot assessment of damage to lives and properties to the people of Etteh Community.

The lawmaker added that the House does write a strongly worded resolution mandating the Honourable Commissioner for Health to direct medical experts to the affected area to unravel the cause of the epidemic and treat accordingly.

Alewo, in his prayers, urged the house to do a passionate appeal to the State Government to send palliatives to the affected areas to cushion the huge loss incurred by Etteh Community.

Mompha: Court fixes date for ruling in ‘no case submission’

A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Wednesday, further adjourned until December 9, to rule on a no-case submission filed by internet celebrity Ismaila Mustapha, alias Mompha, standing trial for alleged N32.9 billion fraud.

The EFCC charged Mompha with 14 counts bordering on fraud, money laundering and running a foreign exchange business without the authorisation of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He was arraigned alongside a firm, Ismalob Global Investment Ltd.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail in the sum of N100 million with one surety in the like sum.

The case which was earlier fixed for ruling on the no-case submission filed by the defence, could not proceed on Wednesday, as the court did not sit.

Justice Mohammed Liman also fixed December 9 for the ruling.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Justice Liman, had on October 14, adjourned the case for ruling, after listening to submissions by the prosecution and defence.

EFCC accused the defendant of procuring Ismalob Global Investment Ltd and retaining in its account, an aggregate sum of N32.9 billion between 2015 and 2018.

The prosecution closed its case on July 17, after calling its 10th witness, while the court had adjourned for defence.

On October 14, defence counsel, Gboyega Oyewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, had informed the court that he filed a no-case submission dated August 11.

Mr Oyewole had consequently adopted the arguments contained in his written address in support of his argument that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against the defendant.

He had urged the court to so hold.

In his response, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, had asked the court to determine whether the evidence adduced by prosecution has sufficiently linked the defendant to the offences to warrant him to be called on to open his defence and make explanations.

He also adopted his submissions and urged the court to call upon the defendant to enter his defence.

Defence counsel in response had also adopted his reply on points of law in urging the court to hold that the prosecution had failed to make out a case against the defendant.

According to the charge, EFCC alleged that Mompha laundered the sum of N32.9billion through Ismalob Global Investment Ltd, between 2015 and 2018.

Both defendants were alleged to have negotiated foreign exchange transactions in various sums like N9.4 million, N20 million, N10.4 million, N2.4 million, N100 million, N61 million, N40.7million, N42 million, among others.

Mompha was alleged to have aided Ismalob to retain an aggregate sum of N 14 billion in its account, which was procured from one Pitacalize Ltd.

The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 15(2) and 18(3) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act.2011 as amended.

APC defection: My friend, Umahi wants to be president – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has slammed his Ebonyi State counterpart, Governor David Umahi, over his reasons for leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to him, Governor Umahi left the PDP because he wants to be the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 and not injustice meted on the South East by the opposition party, as claimed.

Governor Wike stated that committed members of the PDP were not surprised that the Ebonyi governor formally defected to the APC on Tuesday, which he had been fraternising with for a while.

He decried that he felt offended by Governor’s Umahi’s attempt to justify his decision on the purported injustice meted on the South East by the PDP.

The Rivers governor accused his Ebonyi counterpart of being unfair to the opposition party which gave him its governorship ticket in 2015 against all odds and repeated the same feat in 2019.

He noted that while Governor Umahi has a right to move to the APC, for him to attempt to blackmail the PDP and paint it in a bad light was mischievous and unacceptable.

“My friend, Umahi wants to be president. There is no problem with that. You have a right to be president. Nobody can stop you. You are educated. You have been a governor for two terms, so you are qualified to say I want to be president of Nigeria.

“But, that does not mean, that because you want to blackmail your party, and tell lies to the people you are leaving the party because of the injustice meted against the South-East, that is not correct,” Governor Wike said.

Sir Geoff Hurst offers to donate brain for dementia research

Sir Geoff Hurst has offered to donate his own brain for dementia research after watching 1966 team mates die in an “unbelievably brutal” year.

Hurst, 78, the hat-trick hero of English football’s greatest triumph, has seen former team mates Nobby Stiles and Jack Charlton die this year and Sir Bobby Charlton diagnosed with dementia in 2020.

Former England striker Hurst is one of only four members of the World Cup winning team still alive and admits he has been left deeply “shocked and saddened” to see his friends and team mates pass away down the years.

Hurst believes more must be done to combat dementia and Alzheimers disease which has been closely associated with heading footballs and the deaths of former England players like Martin Peters, Ray Wilson and ex-West Brom striker Jeff Astle.

West Ham legend Hurst says there should be a ban on kids being allowed to head footballs at too young an age while he also says he would also be willing to play his part after his own death if it helps research on the impact of heading footballs.

When asked whether he would donate his own brain, Hurst said: “Yes, absolutely. Jeff Astle has done it of course through his daughter Dawn and looking at that and someone else doing that is good.

“I’ve never been asked that question before and my straight answer is yes if it helps. If I could help, families who have people die and donate their organs, I think that’s a fantastic thing for other people.

“So if I could help in that way, I would discuss it with my wife and she would have no objections to me doing. The straightforward answer would be yes.”

Man who has almost every part of his body tattooed gets the MARK ''666'' to spite religious people

A tattoo and body modification-obsessed man has undergone yet another procedure - this time opting to have the number six carved into his head.

Victor Hugo Peralta Rodriguez, who goes by @victor-h-peralta on Instagram, has been tattooed by more than 80 artists around the world and is covered from head to toe in unique designs.

Despite having hundreds of ink and body modifications, Victor, who is originally from Uruguay and now lives in Argentina with his partner Gaby, recently underwent his latest change - getting the number six cut into his head by removing the tissue and engraving it into the skin.

But Victor insists it holds no religious meaning for him - but admits he is doing it to spite religious people.

"The number six is a part of what will be the complete piece 666, this will have to do with the number of the beast," he said.

"The number six only, for me, has no meaning. I do the three six because I hate religious people and what they do doesn't interest me, for that reason I do it out of repudiation of the church.

"It was done by a colleague and friend here in Buenos Aires Argentina at my local Querubin Tattoo Studio.

"The artist, Frozz Viraca, is dedicated to body modification and he gave me this procedure.

"Performing one of the sixes took about an hour of work and due to a question of schedules, it could not be completed in a single session.

"The second and last session will be held shortly to complete the work."

Victor explained that the procedure was performed under local anaesthesia but said he still felt pain at times as his tissue was removed.

Victor himself has been a tattoo artist for 26 years.

Talking about his love of tattoos, he said: "From a very young age, I was attracted to colourful art and at the age of 13, I got my first tattoo, which was the word f*** on the fingers of my left hand, and I did it myself.

"Since then, I've never stopped tattooing myself, and today at 50 years old I have 95% of my body tattooed including my tongue and genitals."

Ben Watkins dead: MasterChef Junior star dies of rare cancer at 14 just 3 years after his parents death

MasterChef Junior star Ben Watkins has died at the age of 14.

He had been undergoing treatment for a rare form of cancer at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago when he died this week, his family have confirmed.

Ben competed in Season 6 of the Gordon Ramsay hosted cooking competition when he was 11 years old, and while he didn't win the contest, became a firm fan favourite.

The talented youngster was then diagnosed with a soft tissue tumour just days after his 13th birthday.

His family said that Ben was one of six people in the world to be diagnosed with Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma.

The shock diagnosis came just three years after the death of Ben's parents.

Leila Edwards and Mike Watkins - died in a domestic violence incident that was ruled as a murder-suicide, police told the Chicago Tribune at the time.

According to police reports, Mike shot and killed Ben's mother before turning the gun on to himself.

Ben had just finished filming his time on Fox's MasterChef junior when the incident happened.

Mike and Leila had owned Big Ben's Bodacious BBQ and Delicatessen in Gary, Indiana where their boy Ben was inspired to learn how to cook.

Following his parents' death, Ben was being looked after by his maternal grandmother and uncle.

The pair set up a GoFundMe page for Ben to help pay for his hospital bills when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Speaking on the site at the time, they shared: “Ben is an aspiring chef.

“He opened Big Ben’s Bodacious BBQ and Delicatessen in the Miller Community of Gary, Indiana with his late parents, Leila Edwards and Mike Watkins.

“Shortly after his 13th birthday, Ben was diagnosed with a rare illness called Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma. [It’s] a soft tissue tumour usually in children and young adults.

“Young Ben is one of only six people in the entire world with this illness. Ben is currently undergoing treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

“Despite all of Ben’s trials and tribulations, he remains positive. He looks forward to getting back in the kitchen and pursuing his dream to become an engineer.”

Gordon Ramsay and Ben's fellow Masterchef Junior stars sent Ben a special video message earlier this year after hearing about his health battle and helped raise donations for a GoFundME page.

CNN gives exclusive, never been heard reports on October 20 shooting at Lekki Toll

CNN has concluded their investigations on the October 20 shooting that took place at Lekki toll, Lagos where soldiers allegedly shot at peaceful #EndSARS protesters. Though the Army has denied this, here's however an exclusive report by CNN -- where they spoke directly to victims' families and more...

The report;

Sometime after midnight on October 21, Elisha Sunday Ibanga answered a phone call from his older brother's number.

The person on the other end of the line -- a stranger -- broke the news that Ibanga's brother, Victor, had been shot dead at the Lekki toll gate, in Lagos, Nigeria, where he had been peacefully protesting against police brutality earlier that night.

"The person told me that the police took his body away," Ibanga, 24, told CNN.

An eyewitness to Victor Sunday Ibanga's death told CNN the 27-year-old entrepreneur was shot in the head during the protest.

CNN has obtained and geolocated a photograph of Victor's body lying in a pool of blood and wrapped in the white and green of the Nigerian standard -- one of the same flags gripped by fellow protesters earlier in the evening as they sang the country's national anthem. Ibanga confirmed the photograph is of his brother.

The body of Victor Sunday Ibanga is pictured in a pool of blood.

The Ibangas are one of several families yet to locate the bodies of their missing loved ones -- protestors at the toll gate -- who dozens of eyewitnesses say were shot at, first by members of the Nigerian army and then hours later by police. Eyewitnesses told CNN they saw the army remove a number of bodies from the scene.

What happened on October 20, and into the early hours of October 21, at the eight-lane Lekki toll gate -- a key piece of Lagos' road network -- has stunned the country.

The protesters who were present have told CNN it was a "massacre" with multiple people killed and dozens wounded. But local authorities have downplayed that account.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, admitted to CNN that footage showed uniformed soldiers firing on peaceful protesters but claimed only two demonstrators were killed. But, he then said there was "not a scratch of blood" at the toll gate when he visited. The governor said no families had approached authorities saying they were missing relatives.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the army denied any involvement, describing reports of the incident as "fake news," before backtracking and saying that soldiers were present but fired their weapons in the air and used blanks, not live rounds.

CNN's calls to the Nigerian army have not been returned. But on November 14, during a judicial inquiry into the shooting, army representative Brigadier Ahmed Taiwo said, "There's no way officers and men will kill their brothers and sisters. I repeat no way. We have those who constantly seek to drive a wedge between us and between the citizens of Nigeria..."

The army also said at the hearing that it was the governor who called soldiers to the scene because the police were overrun. The governor has denied this, saying he does not have the authority to call in the army. The army has continued to restate that they did not fire live rounds.

But an investigation by CNN into the disputed events has cast doubt on authorities' shifting and changing statements.

Evidence of bullet casings from the scene match those used by the Nigerian army when shooting live rounds, according to current and former Nigerian military officials. Verified video footage -- using timestamps and data from the video files -- shows soldiers who appear to be shooting in the direction of protesters. And accounts from eyewitnesses establish that after the army withdrew, a second round of shooting happened later in the evening.

Victor Sunday Ibanga

Since Elisha Sunday Ibanga learned of his brother's death, he has been visiting hospitals in a desperate search for his remains.

"My mother, my sisters, all my family are in prayer, just to see if we can find out and know where my brother's dead body is," he said.

The bodies of other protesters are nowhere to be found.

Peace Okon, 24, hasn't seen her younger brother Wisdom, 18, since he went to the protest the night of the shooting.

Wisdom Okon

"He just came back from work on that Tuesday, ate his food and went there," Okon told CNN.

She started worrying when he didn't arrive home that night. By the next morning, Okon was out searching for him. "I've gone to hospitals, I've gone to police stations, I've gone to everywhere. I can't find him," she said.

Her brother had only moved to Lagos a few weeks before the protest -- Okon had helped him find a job as a cleaner at a bank. She says he didn't know anyone at the protest and had never been to one before.

Okon said she wants the Nigerian authorities to tell her if her brother is alive and detained or dead.

The shootings at Lekki toll gate followed weeks of "#EndSARS" protests against police brutality that had burst onto the streets of cities across Nigeria.

For almost a fortnight, thousands of young Nigerians mostly under 30 -- a demographic that makes up 40% of the country's population -- protested, with calls for an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a police unit widely and repeatedly accused of kidnapping, harassment and extortion.

Police had agreed to disband the controversial unit but protests continued. It would be the fourth time it was being disbanded.

There were peaceful marches, candlelight vigils, multi-faith prayer sessions and DJ performances that attracted backing and solidarity from celebrities, the Nigerian diaspora and supporters around the world. The movement quickly widened beyond police brutality to other grievances -- capturing the frustrations of a young population demanding an end to bad governance in the oil-rich country.

Lekki, a relatively affluent suburb of Lagos, and the toll gate became a focal point of the movement.

However, about 10 days into the protests, the demonstrations were hijacked by "thugs and sponsored hoodlums" who attacked protesters, causing deaths and injuries, according to Amnesty International Nigeria.

In response, on October 20, hours before the shooting, Governor Sanwo-Olu imposed a strict curfew starting at 4 p.m. following looting and vandalism in other parts of the state.

It was later moved to 9 p.m. to allow commuters to get home. The timeline for when the curfew was imposed has become a point of contention between the Governor and the military. The army said their soldiers were unaware of the change to the later time, according to the army spokesperson's testimony to the eight-person judicial panel on November 14.

For 24 hours, only essential service providers were to be allowed on the streets of the 20-million strong city.

Testimony from dozens of eyewitnesses and family members interviewed by CNN and a forensic examination of hours of video and dozens of photographs captured before, during and after the two shooting incidents show how a fledgling protest movement was all but extinguished by the very thing Nigerians were demonstrating against.

Less than three hours after the original curfew time came into effect, army trucks left the Bonny Camp barracks on Victoria Island and headed towards the toll gate plaza and the protesters, according to videos reviewed by CNN.

Two eyewitnesses told CNN they saw soldiers arriving in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck with "OP Awatse" written on it -- the name of a joint military task force that operates in Lagos State.

Videos examined by CNN show the army trucks approaching the protesters from both sides of the toll gate -- barricading them in.

DJ Switch, a local musician whose real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, was streaming live on Instagram when it all happened and the shooting began.

The shooting started almost immediately, with no warning given. Panic ensued as protesters attempted to flee.

"There was a guy that was running, and he just... he fell, and we looked at him. He was shot in the back," DJ Switch, 29, told CNN, as she tried to talk during an interview while crying.

"Please explain to me how, in which part of the world, do you go to a protest with live bullets," she said.

From multiple videos, CNN has pieced together a timeline that shows that shooting by the army lasted from 6:43 p.m. until at least 8:24 p.m., according to video evidence.

The videos capturing some of those 101 minutes tell a story of terror and chaos. They show graphic injuries and people bleeding on the ground.

One eyewitness, Sarah, whose last name we're not publishing for her safety, told CNN that the soldiers shot in the air but also directly at protesters.

"They pointed their guns at us and they started shooting," she said. "They were shooting in the air, they were shooting at us, they were shooting everywhere."

Some chanted: "We are peaceful protesters" and "End Sars, we no go gree [pidgin for we will not agree, or give in]."

"They're shooting, they're shooting," another person screams in one of the videos. Cries of "Na lie, na lie [exclamations of disbelief in pidgin]" can also be heard.

In several of the videos, reviewed and verified by CNN, some of the protesters can be seen carrying bodies, the flashlights on their phones the only thing illuminating the darkness as the sound of ambulance sirens wail in the background. It is not known whether these were dead or injured protesters.

In another, there are several injured people, some on the ground bleeding while defiant protesters continued to wave Nigerian flags.

UK BANS buying of new petrol cars from 2030

A plan on buying new petrol and diesel cars will be brought forward to 2030, Boris Johnson has confirmed as he unveiled his £12billion, “Ten Point Plan” for a “green industrial revolution”.

The Prime Minister unveiled a host of measures aimed at slashing the UK's carbon emissions and tackling climate change – and “creating and supporting” 250,000 “green jobs”.

He hopes the proposals will boost moves to meet Britain's pledge for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The PM announced £1.3bn to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle charging points in homes, streets and motorways.

He also pledged £582m in grants for zero or ultra-low emission vehicles to make them cheaper and encourage take-up – and nearly £500m over four years to develop and mass produce electric vehicle batteries.

Other measures include creating Britain's first town heated entirely by hydrogen, developing small and advanced nuclear reactors, and making homes, schools and hospitals “greener, warmer and more energy efficient”.

The Government set a target to install 600,000 heat pumps every year by 2028, and Mr Johnson repeated a Conservative Party conference pledge to build enough offshore wind turbines to power every home.

The move would quadruple the amount of energy generated from offshore wind to 40GW by 2030, “supporting up to 60,000 jobs”.

While sales of diesel and petrol vehicles will be banned within 10 years, hybrid cars and vans that “can drive a significant distance with no carbon coming out of the tailpipe” can continue until 2035.

Pilots under investigation for drawing gigantic p.e.n.i.s in sky solidarity with suspended Russian football captain

Two pilots are under investigation for allegedly performing phallic-like turns in Russian airspace in a bizarre act of solidarity with the country’s football captain.

The unnamed crew of Pobeda airline are reported to have manoeuvred the plane to draw a p3nis in the sky to back Russian team captain Artem Dzyuba who was suspended from international duty after footage showing him performing a s3x act in bed was leaked online.

A video highlights an alleged X-rated detour taken by flight DP407 en route from Moscow to Yekaterinburg on 11 November.

Kremlin-owned RT called it a “ballsy flight path” but questioned whether the alleged stunt was a “bit too cocky”.

“This was probably the way in which Pobeda captains expressed their support to Russian team captain Artem Dzyuba and showed their attitude to him being bullied,” said a spokesman for the airline.

It was later confirmed that the Federal Air Transport Agency is investigating the “phallic protest” over the city of Neftekamsk.

Reports suggest the crew requested permission for air manoeuvres “due to a need to check radio-navigation equipment”.

Mr Gusarov said: “Moreover to draw something like this and then to admit to it means confessing to hooliganism.”

Separately, the FSB security service is investigating whether the 32-year-old Zenit St Petersburg player was blackmailed for $5 million over the compromising video which was allegedly hacked from his mobile phone.

The married player reportedly met a hacker responsible for stealing the intimate footage but refused to pay the ransom.
