Lekki shooting: Nigerian Government formally writes CNN

The Nigerian government, on Monday, asked the American based news outlet, the Cable News Network (CNN) to reexamine its investigative report on the Lekki shootings, which it (Nigerian government) had earlier dismissed as unfair and inaccurate.

The federal government had earlier condemned the report, likening it to “a poor piece of journalistic work.”

In a letter addressed to the Vice President of CNN International Communications, Jonathan Hawkins, signed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the federal government said “it reserves the right to take action within its laws to prevent CNN from aggravating the #EndSARS crisis.”

“As a form of remediation, Nigeria’s Federal Government demands an immediate and exhaustive investigation from CNN into its ‘investigative’ report on the Lekki Toll Gate incident to determine, among others, its authenticity, whether or not it met the basic standards of journalism and also the selective use of unverified social media videos to manipulate public opinion.

“While it is up to CNN to accede or not, please note that the Federal Government reserves the right to take any action within its laws to prevent CNN from aggravating the #EndSARS crisis with unprofessional, irresponsible, one-sided, inciting and sensational reporting that is capable of pitching Nigerians against themselves and setting the country on fire,” he said.

U.S,

RE: HOW A BLOODY NIGHT OF BULLETS QUASHED A YOUNG PROTEST MOVEMENT

Our attention has been drawn to an ‘investigation’ by CNN, entitled ‘How a Bloody Night of Bullets Quashed a Young Protest Movement’ and aired on 18 Nov. 2020, in which the international news organization said it had ”uncovered that Nigerian security forces opened fire on unarmed protesters” at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, Nigeria, during the #EndSARS protest.

We write to put on record that the report did not just fall short of journalistic standards, it reinforces the disinformation that is going around on the issue, it is blatantly irresponsible and it is a poor piece of journalistic work by a reputable international news organization.

In the first instance, the report did not live up to the most basic of the core principles of journalism – balance and fairness. According to the website https://ift.tt/3l2eA7v, ”balance and fairness are classic buzzwords of journalism ethics: In objective journalism, stories must be balanced in the sense of attempting to present all sides of a story. Fairness means that a journalist should strive for accuracy and truth in reporting, and not slant a story so a reader draws the reporter’s desired conclusion.”

Rushing to air such a momentous story without presenting the government’s side is inexcusable and indefensible. CNN said it contacted over 100 protesters and family members, but did not speak to one official of Nigeria’s federal government. While CNN said there was no response from the army and that officials of Lagos State would not speak in view of the Judicial Panel that is investigating the matter, it did not say what effort it made to speak with any official of the federal government.

The truth is that CNN did not even attempt to reach the federal government. Nima Elbagir, who presented the report and most probably led the investigation, is conversant with the Minister of Information and Culture, who is also the Spokesman for the Federal Government of Nigeria, yet did not say that she even tried to reach the Minister. It is therefore strange, to say the least, that she would rush to air such an important ‘investigation’ report without getting the government’s side. In other words, Nima, and by extension CNN, breached the most basic of the core principles of journalism – balance and fairness.

Another serious breach by CNN, in its ‘investigation’, is that the network relied heavily on unverified footages it harvested from social media.

CNN was not present at the Lekki Toll Gate on the night of the incident. Neither its reporter nor cameraman was there, but it relied on eyewitnesses. Well, this is fraught with danger. While experts say eyewitness testimony is a potent form of evidence, it is also subject to unconscious memory distortions and biases, Unlike CNN, a reporter from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Pidgin Service, Damilola Banjo, was at the Lekki Toll Gate on the night in question, and was quoted as saying soldiers shot sporadically into the air and not at the protesters – a direct contradiction of the position taken by CNN who relied on second and third-hand information.

In airing its ‘investigative’ report, CNN conveniently forgot that on Oct. 23rd 2020, it emphatically tweeted, from its verified twitter handle, that the military killed 38 people when it opened fire on

peaceful protesters on Tuesday, Oct. 20th 2020. Almost a month later, the same CNN – after a supposedly exhaustive investigation – is now reporting only one death from what the world was made to believe was a massacre. Is CNN not embarrassed by this sharp climbdown? Has CNN owned up to this and apologized for its faux paz?

It is also interesting that while CNN obtained footage showing when the vehicles carrying soldiers left their barracks and arrived at the Lekki Toll Gate, it could not obtain any footage showing the bodies of those supposedly killed in the ‘massacre’. After all, forensic ballistic experts will most likely testify that firing military grade weapons into a crowd will not leave anyone needing a microscope to look for blood or bodies at the scene.

CNN has said it stands by its story, and that ”our reporting was carefully and meticulously researched”, This is baffling, considering that the story lacks fairness and balance, as we have pointed out, and that the organization relied heavily on manipulated social media videos. This resort to an escapist cliche seems more like a face-saving measure by an otherwise respectable news network caught in the blinding glare of ‘fake news and disinformation’ headlamps. Or how else does one explain the arrogant defence of an international news network that would not even respect the most basic principle of journalism?

One of CNN’s star eyewitnesses in its ‘investigative’ reporting is DJ Switch. Unknown to CNN, DJ Switch’s story on the Lekki Toll Gate shooting has changed several times. From claiming she counted 78 bodies of protesters who were supposedly killed by soldiers on the night of the Lekki Toll Gate incident, she has twice, at least, changed the casualty figure from 78 to 15 and then to 7, without a shred of evidence. CNN cannot pretend not to know that for anyone to act as a witness, his or her credibility must be unimpeachable. DJ Switch’s credibility does not meet that threshold.

In one of social media videos of DJ Switch that was used by CNN (see attached link 1), the lady (DJ Switch) claimed she and some unnamed persons carried dead bodies and dropped them at the feet of the soldiers. She also claimed she spoke to their Commander before the soldiers threw the bodies into the vans. Curiously, for someone who was streaming live on Instagram during the Lekki Toll Gate incident, there was not a single video or picture of the dead bodies. Not even Godson (Uyi), another CNN star witness whose video was also used by the network, or any of the hundreds of protesters, all armed with smart phones, at the scene recorded a video or shot a picture of dead bodies being carried away by soldiers.

Talking of Godson, despite claiming to have analyzed hours of footage, it is curious that CNN conveniently left out key parts of Godson’s 57-minute, 5-second video (see attached link 2). For example, 13 minutes, 40 seconds into the video, there were voices, in street lingo, in the background telling Godson that the gunshots were not from the soldiers (na boys dey shoot, that na local gun sound….it’s boys, meaning touts and hoodlums, who are shooting.

That’s local gun). Some 20 minutes,14 seconds into the video, Godson confirmed that the boys had brought out their guns and were shooting (local okah, he called it). Some 23 minutes, 14 seconds into the video, Godson said ‘wait, all these boys dey shoot’ (meaning gunshots rang out from the touts/hoodlums). CNN, in its rush to nail soldiers and tell a ‘radically different story’, conveniently left out these parts of the Godson video, which could have shown that armed hoodlums invaded the Lekki Toll Gate that night, and could have hit any of the protesters as they shot sporadically. This is clearly a ploy by the CNN reporter/presenter to manipulate viewers of its ‘investigative’ report and force them to draw the reporter’s desired conclusion! Another video showing an armed protester at the Lekki Toll Gate (see attached link 3) was apparently not among the footage reviewed by CNN!

It is shocking that all through its ‘investigation’, CNN did not for once mention the fact that six soldiers and 37 policemen were killed during the #EndSARS crisis, which also left 196 policemen injured, not to talk of the monumental destruction of government and private properties across the country. Instead, the network is fixated on the massacre that never happened. Are security agents not human beings too? Are they not entitled to the protection of their human rights?

For the record, this is not the first time that CNN has carried an inaccurate or hoax story about Nigeria. In February 2007, Nigeria accused CNN of staging one of its reports from the country’s Niger Delta region, showing gunmen holding 24 Filipinos hostage. Of course, CNN and its then Africa Correspondent Jeff Koinange flatly denied the charge, saying the network did not pay for any part of the report. Later, in an email reportedly sent to a friend, Mr. Koinange was quoted as saying: “Of course we had to pay certain people to get the story… You do not get such a story without bribing.” So much for denials!

As a form of remediation, Nigeria’s Federal Government demands an immediate and exhaustive investigation from CNN into its ‘investigative’ report on the Lekki Toll Gate incident to determine, among others, its authenticity, whether or not it met the basic standards of journalism and also the selective use of unverified social media videos to manipulate public opinion. While it is up to CNN to accede or not, please note that the Federal Government reserves the right to take any action within its laws to prevent CNN from aggravating the #EndSARS crisis with unprofessional, irresponsible, one-sided, inciting and sensational reporting that is capable of pitching Nigerians against themselves and setting the country on fire.

ASUU strike: I have 3 children in public universities – Ngige

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has restated the commitment of Federal Government to end the eight-month strike embarked on by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

He described as untrue, comments that government officials have been foot-draggers in the ongoing negotiations with the university lecturers because their children school abroad.

Ngige said, “I have three biological children in public schools. They are in public schools; they are not in private universities. Unlike ASUU members who have most of their children in private universities, three of mine are here. So, I am a very big stakeholder in the public tertiary school system.”

The minister, who spoke on an Arise TV interview monitored by The Punch, added, “So, when ASUU says politicians don’t care because they have taken their children abroad, Chris Ngige cares because my children are not abroad even though they have dual nationality – two of them have American citizenship; they can be in America but I choose them to be here with me.

“So, ASUU cannot accuse me of not being nationalistic enough. Anything that will help the university system here, I am in the forefront.”

Police DSP arrested for receiving N100,000 bribe in Lagos

A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Popoola Kayode who is also a leader of Taskforce team operating around Lekki Ajah area of Lagos State and members of his team have been arrested for collecting N100,000 bribe.

Adebayo Taofiq, the Head, Public Affairs Unit, Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce) in a statement on Sunday said the police officer received the bribe from one Didi Ekanem, the owner of a Toyota Venza with registration number: APP 775 GJ who was caught driving against traffic (one-way) around Lekki Ajah Expressway.

According to him, the statement was necessitated in response to a story published on page 31 of the Sunday Punch Newspaper, dated Nov.22, 2020 with caption “Taskforce Commander Made Sexual Advances At Me – Didi Ekanem”.

“The leader of the team, Kayode is not the Commander of the Agency as quoted in the report which said that the money (N100, 000) was collected via bank transfer to his (Kayode) account.

“After the transfer, the vehicle was then released to Ekanem,” Taofiq said.

He said that the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi upon investigation of the incident which happened on Wednesday, Nov.18 immediately arrested Kayode and his team members.

“They will be sent back to the Lagos State Police Command for further disciplinary actions,” the unit head said.

Taofiq said that Egbeyemi thereby warned motorists, particularly private car owners and motorcycle operators to desist from driving against traffic (one-way).

He said that anyone caught would be charged to the Lagos State Mobile Court for prosecution.

“Members of the public should stop inducing our officers with money and be reminded that both the giver and receiver are liable in Law.

“It is only Court that pronounces traffic fines and money that will be paid into government purse,” Taofiq quoted Egbeyemi as saying.

Taofiq, however, urged members of the public to always report any corrupt officer who engaged in shady deals thereby spoiling the image of the Agency for disciplinary actions.

Nigeria will exit recession in December or first quarter of 2021 – FG

The Federal Government on Monday said Nigeria will move out of recession either in the fourth quarter of this year or in the first quarter of 2021.

The government said the nation’s second recession in five years would be short-lived.

Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning disclosed this on Monday at the 26th Nigerian Economic Summit organised by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to her, said the recession was caused by Coronavirus which ravaged the entire world, saying that many other countries were also forced into recession because of the virus.

She said before COVID-19, the Nigerian economy was experiencing sustained growth, which had been improving quarter by quarter until the second quarter of 2020, when the impact of the COVID-19 was felt,

The minister stated that Nigeria is not alone in this, but noted that the nation had outperformed economies like the United Kingdom and others who went into recesson in terms of the record of a negative growth.

She explained that while the economy has entered into recession in the third quarter, the trend of the growth suggested that this would be a short-lived recession, “and indeed by the fourth or, at worst, the first quarter of 2021, the country will exit recession.”

''It is a shame that Nigerians do not value my work just because I’m an independent Journalist with no funding. @CNNAfrica stole footage from many Nigerians, didn’t credit anyone, pieced them together and turned it to their own story. #ijlekkimassacre is my Investigation #EndSARS

It is a shame that Nigerians do not value my work just because I’m an independent Journalist with no funding. @CNNAfrica stole footage from many Nigerians, didn’t credit anyone, pieced them together and turned it to their own story. #ijlekkimassacre is my Investigation #EndSARS

I will address @CNNAfrica today and how they plagiarized my investigation #ijlekkimassacre brainwashing Nigerians using their power of International fame and money to defame local Journalists at @PremiumTimesng @ARISEtv @GazetteNGR @KemiOlunloyo

Lekki shooting, Lekki Massacre, Lekki tollgate #Endsars

Everything @CNNAfrica ‘s video was already investigated by local Journalists and @AmnestyNigeria but Nigerians flock to the international sensational ones. I started screaming that the bodies of #endsars protesters the army left with were being hidden all over. #ijlekkimassacre

I accused Reddington hospital of hiding bodies from people looking to identify corpses. An anonymous employee told me they were working with the army. @SaharaReporters did a bulk of the Investigation tracking bodies to Bonny Camp and when the panel got there, they moved them.

Where was @CNNAfrica when I started crying out for the bodies? @AmnestyNigeria said 12, @SaharaReporters said 20, @PremiumTimesng found several in the water @GazetteNGR @ARISEtv also posted investigations. Now Lagos State is RELEASING BODIES #LekkiMassacre #ijlekkimassacre

I was the 1st Journalist to Investigate how they moved & hid bodies before any DAMN

@CNNAfrica See time on my tweet. Nigerians were focusing on the army’s #Fakenews posts. CNN stole uncredited footage and ideas. BODIES NOW AVAILABLE I tracked them.

The day before 20/10/20 @CNNAfrica was silent. CNN kept quiet on the plight of the protesters but wanted the spotlight when their lives were ruined.

Fuel hike: We are not planning to embark on strike now – NLC

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, on Monday said it is not planning to embark on any strike now following hike in fuel price by the Federal Government.

The NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, had on Sunday walked out of a meeting with the federal government over what they called insincerity of government.

But NLC’s Deputy President, Comrade Joe Ajaero on Monday in Abuja stated that the union had no strike option on its agenda for now.

He said the labour staged a walk out of the meeting with government to express its anger over government’s insincerity.

According to him, labour needed to consult widely before taking any decision to embark on any strike.

The Organised Labour had on Sunday walked out of a meeting with the Federal Government on recent increase in fuel price and electricity tariffs.

The meeting was said to be about five minutes old before the Organised Labour, comprising Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, staged a walk out.

Labour walks out on FG in meeting over hikes in fuel pump price and electricity tariff

The meeting between the Federal Government and the organised labour on the hikes in fuel pump price and the electricity tariff on Sunday ended in confusion as the labour leaders walked out of the parley in anger.

The dialogue which was meant to take updates on the implementation of resolutions reached during the three previous meetings ended abruptly barely 10 minutes after it commenced at the Presidential Villa banquet hall, Abuja.

The meeting had started at 8.18pm when the Trade Union Congress President, Quadri Olaleye, raised the issue of the latest hike in fuel pump price from N160 to N170.

He insisted on the reversal of the hike before the meeting can proceed.

Olaleye said, “Government is showing a high level of insincerity in discussions with us and is also putting us at risk with the people we are leading, with the masses. We find it difficult to move freely but the people in government are moving freely.

“I came to the conclusion that the major problem we have in this country is insincerity and this cannot continue.

“So, I want to put it to the government that if today’s meeting does not look promising to solve those problems, honestly, we would mobilise to walk out of the meeting. The situation is getting tense and you are putting us at risk.”

Speaking in a similar being, the Deputy President, Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, also said the union had been under attacks over the slow pace of implementation of resolutions reached at the meetings with the government.

But the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, assured that the issue would be discussed during the business session and asked the media to leave the hall.

However, as soon as journalists were out of the hall, Ngige reportedly said the issue of palliatives would be discussed first while the labour leaders insisted on discussing the fuel pump price hike.

Following the disagreement, the labour leaders angrily walked out of the meeting which had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister of State for Petroleum, Sylva Timipre, Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo and others.

Addressing journalists outside the hall, the NLC General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, said the union leaders stormed out of the session because the government team was not willing to address the latest hike in fuel pump price which he said violated the understanding they had with the FG.

He added, “We felt we should address the issue of petroleum prices before whether there is need for palliatives or not. On that strength, we felt we could not continue with the meeting whose agenda is wrongly prioritised.”

But Ngige said nothing went wrong.

“We felt that the item of increase in petroleum, having been listed at all as an additional item, would have satisfied everybody but they on that said they were calling for a recess. It is for me to re-invite them and I would do that within 24 hours,” he said.

Bus crushes pregnant woman, two others in Rivers

A speeding commercial bus on Saturday lost control at Rumuodara Junction in Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, crushing a pregnant woman and two others.

The incident, it was gathered, happened after the bus, which was being chased by another vehicle, veered off the road and rammed into roadside traders and passersby.

A female petrol attendant close to the scene of the incident told Punch Metro on Sunday that a heavily pregnant woman was among the victims.

She said, “The incident happened around 6pm on Saturday. The bus was on top speed when the driver lost control and hit some people standing beside the road. One pregnant woman and two traders were badly injured.

“The pregnant woman was on the ground motionless for a long time, before she was later rushed by people to a hospital. The two other people were also taken to the hospital.”

A tricycle rider, who did not also identify himself, told our correspondent that one of the victims he rushed to a nearby hospital was later confirmed dead.

He said a sharp object pierced through the neck of the victim.

“The bus driver came from Eliozu area. I guess another driver he offended was chasing him and in the process he lost control of the steering and hit some traders and other people standing by the roadside.

“A girl I tried to save by rushing her to a nearby hospital was confirmed dead. After the accident happened, the driver came out of his bus and rushed to the vehicle that was chasing him and seized the driver’s car key before policemen from Okporo division came and arrested them,” he added.

Psychic 'who predicted Covid and Trump's defeat' warns pandemic 'will last until 2022'

A self-proclaimed psychic and regression therapist has warned that the effects of the coronavirus pandemic could last throughout the next year after turning his powers to predicting the future.

Nicolas Aujula has claimed he foresaw the devastating Covid-19 virus pandemic which crippled the world in 2020 – and has offered a mixed prediction for the next year over the continued fight against the virus.

The 35-year-old from London claims he receives his predictions from visions that are at times "very literal", while on other occasions can be "symbolic", and dreamlike and more open to interpretation.

Nicolas claims he foresaw global protests, an ‘influenza’ disaster, and even the fall of Donald Trump from office as US President before 2020 began.

Speaking to The Mirror, Nicolas has delved into the future again to suggest what he thinks will happen to the coronavirus pandemic in the coming year.

He told the publication: "One thing people have asked me about a lot this year is the coronavirus.

"I have visions of it plateauing after the new year and infection rates being right down to the point where they are under control by the spring."

However, he added a caveat, stating: "But, I predict that the panic and restrictions around the virus will go on until 2022."

Nicolas claims he had an "overwhelming" out of body experience when he was 17-years-old in which he saw all of his past lives, which included being an Egyptian queen, a maid, a deer, a lion, and even an extraterrestrial from another galaxy.

While he says he had experienced psychic powers since he was a child, it was this vision during his later teenage years that prompted him to abandon plans to study economics and history at university and instead train as a past life regression therapist.

Nicolas has revealed how he foresaw the disasters of 2020 as long as two years ago.

He explained: "Back in 2018, the word influenza kept coming to me. It stuck in my mind, as it’s not a word I’d use. If I was talking in everyday life, I would just say flu.

"I saw it as a global disaster, linked to meat or livestock.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has been compared to the Spanish flu outbreak, hence the word influenza and some people think it originated at a wildlife market in Wuhan, China.

"I also envisioned the defeat of Donald Trump. The US election was obviously very neck-and-neck, so it was surreal seeing my vision come true when Joe Biden finally took the lead."

He has also claimed to have predicted Black Lives Matter protests, Ariana Grande’s 2020 Grammy Awards dress, and health services around the world being under strain.

Those who seek more science-based predictions of the future will be encouraged that the fight against Covid-19 may be turning a corner.

Prince William and wife mourn the death of family dog, Lupo

Prince William and Duchess Kate are mourning the loss of their "dear dog" Lupo, who died last weekend.

"He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much," read a statement signed "W&C" and posted Sunday on the official Kensington Royal social media accounts.

Lupo, a black English cocker spaniel, was a member of the royal family before any of the couple's children: They adopted him in 2012, more than a year before welcoming first-born Prince George, now 7. Will and Kate also share Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.

Kate's brother, James Middleton, also mourned Lupo, whose mother, Ella, is his family's pet.

"There isn’t much of a rule book on how to grieve for a dog, but I’ve said a prayer, lit a candle and taken Ella (Mum) for a long walk to spend time remembering Lupo," he wrote on Instagram. "You will always be remembered."

Lupo appeared in the first official portraits released of baby George back in 2013, taken by Kate's father, Michael Middleton, in the garden of the Middletons' home. A sleeping George is shown being held by his mother next to his father, flanked by Lupo and the Middleton family dog, Tilly.

Kidnappers demanded soft drinks before releasing ABU students

The nine abducted students of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, have been released.

The Director of Public Affairs of ABU, Mallam Auwal Umar, confirmed the development to Punch Metro on the telephone on Sunday.

Umar said the victims regained their freedom on Saturday.

Asked if ransom was paid by the families, Umar said, “We don’t want to go into that. Honestly, I don’t know; but all that I can confirm to you is that they have been released. They were released last night (Saturday).”

A relative of one of the students, Julius Mutum, also confirmed the release in a tweet.

He wrote, “Some of the #ABU9 including my sister have just regained their freedom. Strictly by family efforts. Thank you @TheAbusite for lending your voice when everyone, including govt and security agents, didn’t care.”

The students, who were from the Department of French, were travelling to Lagos for a programme at the Nigerian French Language Village, Badagry, when they were abducted along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway by gunmen.

One of the students, Dickson Oko, who escaped with a gunshot wound, said the kidnappers contacted families of the students and demanded N30m for each of the students to regain their freedom.

It was reported that the kidnappers later reduced the ransom.

Punch Metro gathered that while some of the parents paid about N500,000, others paid between N1m and N4m.

A parent, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the incident, said the bandits released his daughter after he paid N500,000.

“After negotiation, they said I should pay N1m, but I told them that I could not afford to raise that amount. I told them that I had over N500,000 and they asked me to bring it,” he said.

He added that he sold some of his livestock and property to raise the money.

Another parent, who claimed to be part of the team which delivered the ransom, said the kidnappers first directed them to Abuja Junction.

He said, “They called me yesterday (Saturday) and said if I was not able to pay N1m, they would kill the girls or marry them or use them as sex slaves.

“On arriving Kaduna, we were told that security personnel were monitoring the bandits in the bush.

“But surprisingly, the bandits called us and told us to come and wait at the Abuja Junction.

“They sent us a telephone number to call. We called the number and the person came to take us in a car. Unknown to me, the owner of the car was also a victim — his daughter was among those abducted.

“We drove along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway; that was around 11pm, to where we delivered the ransom.”

He said the bandits also demanded a certain number of crates of soft drinks and cartons of milk from each parent.

“When we got to Dutse, we stopped at a junction leading to the bush. We met soldiers there and they stopped us and made the four of us in the vehicle to sit on the ground.

“We trekked far inside the bush from Dutse and handed over the money to them and they released the girls to us.

“Some parents paid N1m, some paid N2m, some paid over N500,000, depending on how each parent bargained with the hoodlums because they spoke separately to the parents.

“Some parents were asked to drop their money at a particular place at Abuja Junction and leave the place then somebody picked the money, counted it and notified the people in the bush that the money had been paid,” he added.
