The Federal Government has explained that vehicle owners in the country will pay N250,000 to convert their cars to autogas.
On Tuesday, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari had said one million cars are to be powered by Autogas free of charge.
But speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Justice Derefaka, Technical Adviser on Gas Business and Policy Implementation to Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, explained that vehicle owners will have different payment plans to covert their cars to autogas.
“The cost varies,” Derefaka said during the show. “So, in terms of cost implication, it depends on the cylinder of the vehicle and of course, for a typical SUV cylinder, it is a bit higher but on the average, it is around N200,000 to N250,000 and this is for a four-cylinder vehicle but it becomes a little bit higher for a six-cylinder SUV vehicle.”
Derefaka further explained that there will be different payment plans for car owners who want to convert their cars, reiterating that the conversion is not totally free.
“The owner of the car basically will decide to say I want to run on autogas or CNG or LNG and like the honourable minister had mentioned it as well, conversion basically, has different strands, you can partner with your bank and then the bank will now agree with the conversion centre to say ‘Convert this our customer’s car for free.’ Not free in its entirety,” he added.
Tesco will repay £585million of business rates relief to the Government, saying others need the help more.
The supermarket said the tax break was hugely important to it at the time - and that Covid-19 has cost it far more than that - but that it's now in a position to hand money back.
Tesco chairman John Allan said: "We are financially strong enough to be able to return this to the public, and we are conscious of our responsibilities to society.
"We firmly believe now that this is the right thing to do, and we hope this will enable additional support to those businesses and communities who need it."
In its latest results, Tesco said coronavirus would cost it £725million this year.
Tesco described the rates relief as a "game changer" at the time, adding it was "immensely grateful for the financial and policy support".
"These funds meant that we had the immediate confidence, in the face of significant uncertainty, to invest in colleagues, and support our customers and suppliers," the supermarket said in a statement.
"Every penny of the rates relief we have received has been spent on our response to the pandemic."
Gerardo Demara has died aged 42, after being in “unbearable pain" after taking vitamin injections.
The Voice Mexico star, who is widely known as Jerry Demara, had shared a pic of him in Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Bawley, California after being admitted there but tragically died just hours later.
His death was confirmed by his wife and his sister, who both took to social media on Monday to share the shocking news.
Jerry's wife Claudia Plascencia said that he had been "delirious and vomiting" before being taken to hospital and was in "unbearable pain in his leg and bottom”.
It was just 48 hours before his passing that Jerry shared a video on social media in which he told fans that he was in hospital after taking the vitamin jabs.
He said that he was not sure why he felt so ill and admitted that he was in huge pain from the injections.
Jerry said in the video: “I am in the hospital because I have a problem in [my] bottom.
"By mistake, I used [the injections on] three different days, far from each other.
"I injected vitamins and the day before yesterday I did the same in the other part of my bottom.
"I have been suffering strong pain, around 12 levels out of 10, for six hours.”
There has been a rise in celebrities having vitamin injections, with some having them via a drip.
Katie Price, Rita Ora and Kelly Brook are thought to be among those that have used the vitamin boost, which is said to increase energy levels.
Jerry, who rose to fame in 2012 on The Voice Mexico before being nominated Best Regional Mexican album at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2018, did not reveal what type of vitamins he had injected and why had done so.
A newborn baby was miraculously found alive inside a Mexican morgue, but tragically died after five weeks in a neonatal intensive care unit, according to a report.
Lazarito Albino was declared dead by doctors shortly after he was born on Oct. 21 at General Hospital La Margarita in Puebla and his father even signed his death certificate, Mexican News Daily reported.
The boy was sent to the morgue and placed into a refrigerated compartment, where he spent six hours until the funeral home showed up.
“When we got to remove the body we noticed that it began to cry and move,” the funeral director told the newspaper at the time. “The social worker even got upset when we told her he was alive because she said, ‘What’s wrong, don’t be liars.'”
“So we told the father to approach and he also saw that the baby was crying,” he said.
The baby was placed in intensive care but died on Friday, the paper said.
The boy was finally laid to rest on Saturday.
Now his parents, Santiago and Elisa Albino, are accusing the hospital of negligence.
They filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission, which has launched an investigation into possible medical negligence by the hospital, the outlet said.
“We’re going to get to the bottom of what actually happened with regard to Lazarito’s birth,” the parents said in a statement.

A lady identified as Chinenye and her boyfriend, Chinedu Nwode have been killed by suspected cultists at Oriuzor community in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.
This happened on Sunday, November 29.
According to reports, the killings followed a renewed clash between two rival cults -- the Baggers and Aye confraternities.
The couple were said to be returning from a child dedication when they were shot dead.
The killing was said to have angered some persons suspected to be members of the Aye Confraternity, who in turn killed one Chikwado Nweke and another man at Onueke community in the same local government.
DSP Loveth Odah, rhe spokesperson of the State Police Command, on Tuesday, December 2, condemned the spate of unreported cult killings in the area.
A 25-year-old s.e.x worker, Zainab Adamu, has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly selling her four-month-old baby for N300,000.
According to the spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, Gambo Isa, Zainab conspired with her friend, one Ruth Kenneth, 32, an indigene of Delta State and sold the baby to one Chinwindi Omeh, 43, who lived in the Ekuisigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Isa said that the three women were arrested on November 26 based on a tip-off.
The police spokesman said, "Zainab conspired with her friend, Ruth Kenneth and sold her four months old baby girl to one Chinwendi Omeh at the cost of N300,000
"In the course of the investigation, another suspect, one Chukwudi Nnali, of the same address, brother to Chinwindi Omeh, was also arrested for aiding and abetting the commission of the offence.
"The sums of N165,000 and N85,000 were recovered from Zainab Adamu and Ruth Kenneth respectively as proceeds of the sale."
The Chinese expatriate, who was abducted by some unknown gunmen in Ado-Ekiti, has regained freedom, after payment of N100m ransom.
The Chinese, simply identified as Wang, was one of the Engineers handling the dualisation of the new Ado-Iyin road.
He was abducted last Friday evening at the site by gunmen who also killed a policeman attached to him.
He was released by his abductors after five days in captivity.
A source close to the road construction company said the abductee was released around 11 pm on Tuesday after payment of N100 million ransom.
He explained while the ransom was collected at a place in Kwara state, the expatriate was released around Ilawe-Igede road in Ekiti state.
According to him; “The Chinese was released very late yesterday (Tuesday) after payment of ransom to the kidnappers.
“The N100 million was taken to a bush in Kwara state where the kidnappers collected and confirmed it before the man was released here at a very difficult location along Igede-Ilawe road.”
But when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ekiti state ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the release of the Chinese expatriate but denied any payment of ransom, Vanguard reports.

Operatives of Ogun Police Command, on Tuesday, busted a baby factory at Ofada, Mowe, Obafemi-Owode LGA and rescued ten captives, including pregnant mothers and kids.
The operator of the factory, Mrs Florence Ogbonna, reportedly fled but her daughter and a physically challenged man were arrested.
The physically challenged man was allegedly responsible for impregnating the young girls, and after delivery, Mrs Ogbonna sold their babies.
The woman, now on the run, who was arrested for a similar offence, is standing trial for human trafficking.
The young expectant mothers, aged 18 to 24 years, were transported from Imo, Abia and Ebonyi states with a promise of securing employment for them but later lured into the illicit trade.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, the spokesman of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the fleeing operator of the baby factory was under court bail but decided to return to her "usual business."
Oyeyemi said the command had launched a search for the woman to bring her to justice.
According to him, one of the victims who had resisted the plan to put her baby for sale escaped and reported the illicit trade to the police.
He said families of the victims would be contacted to reunite them.
Speaking with reporters, one of the victims, Chindera Onuoha, said she reported to the police after the fleeing woman wanted to sell her baby.
When asked how much a baby cost, she said: "If the baby is a boy, they sell it for N250,000. If it's a girl, it is N200,000."

An Assistant Commissioner of Police serving in No. 73 PMF Squadron, Magumeri, Borno state, ACP Egbe Eko Edum has been reportedly axed to death in Calabar, Cross River State Capital by unknown men.
The attack took place in the early hours of Wednesday, December 2, at about 1:00 am along Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar by Pepsi depot, sources said.
Police Public Relations Officer of Cross River State Command DSP Irene Ugbo confirmed the incident saying that the late officer came into Calabar to see his family but arrived late at night hours.
“He dropped off from a public transport and had called his wife to pick him up before he was attacked by the unknown men. We are investigating the incident and the family has recovered the body from the seen,” the PPRO explained.
She reiterated that the deceased “is an Assistant Commissioner of Police who serves in Borno State; he is not serving here. I think he was coming to see his family here in Cross River, he arrived in Calabar at about 1:00am when the incident happened.”
Some suspected killers of the traditional ruler of Ifon in Ose local government, Oba Israel Adeusi, the Olufon of Ifon, have been arrested.
Identity of the suspects was yet to be made public because of the ongoing investigation into the killing.
They were arrested by a combine team of security operatives that stormed Elegbaka forest after the killing of the monarch.
Oba Adeusi was killed last Thursday by suspected kidnappers between Elegbeka and Ifon while returning from a meeting in Akure.
Commander of the Ondo Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Akure, said four kidnapped victims were rescued during the search for killers of Oba Adeusi.
Chief Adeleye said the arrested suspects were undergoing interrogations.
Adeleye who debunked insinuations that his men were not in the bush said surveillance has been mounted at the farm of Chief Olu Falae to prevent further attack on the farm by suspected herdsmen.
He said the herdsmen have fled the area.
Similarly, the Ondo Amotekun boss said the “Operation Clean Up” launched on Tuesday led to the arrest of over 20 suspects from various black spots in Akure and environs.
He said some of the suspects were caught in the act of committing robbery.
Chief Adeleye explained that the Operation Clean Up was meant to take the war to the criminals in their various hide outs in the city or the forest.

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has revealed that the Boko Haram terrorist group murdered dozens of Zabarmari farmers and residents for giving out intelligence to the military.
Contrary to claims that the people of the state were not cooperating or giving intelligence to the military, the governor said many residents have been killed by terrorists for exposing them to the military.
Zulum, stated this through his spokesman, Isa Gusau, in a tweet, adding that Boko Haram confirmed that its fighters killed Zabarmari farmers for giving out information about their movement to the military.
He wrote: “This is one of many consequences of Borno peoples’ cooperation in years now. Many have died for giving intelligence to soldiers, yet the communities won’t stop. Many have followed soldiers to the battles and died, yet they won’t stop. Let us hear one idiot accuse the Borno people again.
“They said Borno people do not cooperate but here is the latest example; the Boko Haram just announced that they beheaded dozens of Zabarmari farmers for informing soldiers about their movement and for capturing one of their men and handing over to soldiers recently.”
Boko Haram had killed several rice farmers in Zabarmari, Jere Local Government Area of the state.

The boy's mother gave birth to him as she lay on her death bed attached to a ventilator in Russian city St Petersburg.
Svetlana Sorochinskaya, 36, is believed to have caught coronavirus visiting her father Kirey Pinchin, 64, in hospital where he had undergone heart surgery.
He died from Covid-19 on 5 November, eight days after he was discharged from hospital.

Three persons in Nigeria died from COVID-19 related causes in the last 24 hours, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said.
According to its latest update, the country’s death toll now stands at 1,176.
The NCDC also reported 281 new cases of the virus countrywide, with Lagos atop with 123 cases.
“Till date, 67,838 cases have been confirmed, 63,430 cases have been discharged and 1,176 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory”, NCDC said.
The agency also noted that among the people discharged, 61 were done outside the hospital.
“Our discharges today include 61 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines”, it said.
Six graduates taking part in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia State have reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus.
This was disclosed by the State Information Commissioner, John Okiyi-Kalu on Tuesday in a press statement while reacting to a social media report on the mandatory testing of Corps members posted to the state by the COVID-19 team before they were allowed entry into the orientation camp in Bende LGA.
Okiyi-Kalu said that the discovery was made by the state’s surveillance team on COVID-19.
According to the commissioner, the State government is supporting the NYSC medical team with the state’s medical team; epidemiology, Surveillance and rapid response personnel.
Okiyi-Kalu said that the six persons have been treated and discharged in line with the COVID-19 guidelines.
He reaffirmed the position of the state government on compulsory testing and carrying surveillance (on suspected cases) during and after the camping period.
Keke Palmer revealed on her Instagram page this week that she has polycystic ovary syndrome, known as PCOS.
The 24-year-old noted that the condition has resulted in acne 'so bad that people in my field offered to pay for me to get it fixed.'
