The Sriwijaya Air flight lost contact after taking off from Indonesian capital Jakarta on Saturday.
It was on its way to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province. Pontianak is a city on the island of Borneo, part of the Indonesian archipelago.
Sriwijaya Air said it was still gathering more detailed information regarding the flight before it can make any statement.
According to flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, the aircraft appeared to have plunged 10,000 feet in less than a minute about four minutes after takeoff.
The aircraft’s last contact was at 2.40pm, and authorities have started search and rescue operations for the missing plane, according to Adita Irawati, a spokeswoman for the transport ministry.
Thomas who was accused of having the two children for Nuru who was forced to step aside as managing director of FCMB earlier in the week while married to Tunde.
Some friends of Thomas said Moyo revealed to her husband that he was not the father of the children after she left Nigeria for the U.S. in 2017.
The shocking revelations led to the death of Thomas on 16 December, 2020 and the deceased friends had mounted a campaign to get Nuru sacked on ethical grounds.
But reacting to the allegation in a statement late Friday, Moyo Thomas denied the allegations, while insisting that her late husband was the father of her two kids.
“On no occasion did I ever tell him he was not the father of our two children. It is therefore deliberate falsehood and certainly malicious to allege and insinuate that I informed him that the children are not his. The children still bear his name. Only God knows why he died in an untimely period. It is not in my place, or anyone’s place to play God and talk with certainty as to the cause of his death, without proven medical facts.
“Despite our separation, we never allowed our differences affect the relationships we respectively have with the children. He still had conversations with the children like any father will, up until his sudden and unfortunate death,” Thomas said in the statement.

Mohammed-Baloni made the revelation on social media via her Twitter handle on Friday, in a series of tweets while noting that she has gone into isolation.
She wrote: “Following notification that I have tested positive for COVID-19, I have proceeded into isolation for the necessary treatment,” she said.
“I look forward to quick and complete recovery from this infection.

There were 17 infants in the unit for sick newborn babies when the fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at the Bhandara District General Hospital in Maharashtra state.
Seven infants died due to smoke suffocation, and three from burn injuries, Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope told reporters.
Seven babies were rescued by the nurses and ward staff.
All the infants were aged between a few days and three months, Bhandara district health official Prashant Uike said.
The government has ordered a probe into the incident and a safety audit of all neo-natal care units in the state.
Initial reports indicated that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit in one of the incubators, Tope said.
“The staff said the ward quickly filled with lots of black smoke,” the minister added.
Legal requirements for a post-mortem had been waived and the bodies of the children handed to their families, Tope added.
Families of the victims would be given compensation of 500,000 rupees (about 6,814 dollars) each.

The University of Jos graduate died on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, which happened to be his birthday.
The cause of his death was not mentioned. He is survived by wife, children, mother and siblings.

The cost of taking another songwriter's work without permission and illicitly leaking a remade version is $450,000. That's what Nicki Minaj will be paying Tracy Chapman to satisfy her copyright infringement claims over "Sorry," a derivative of "Baby Can I Hold You."
On Thursday, documents became public in California federal court reflecting the fact that Chapman had accepted Minaj's offer of judgment.
As a result, the two will not proceed to a trial later this year. By accepting Minaj's offer, Chapman not only scores a win in the case and $450,000, the esteemed singer also avoids being responsible for costs had a jury eventually decided her claims weren't worth that amount.
Chapman filed the case back in Oct. 2018. The suit came a couple months after Minaj had released her album, Queen. While "Sorry," a collaboration with Nas, wasn't on the album, Minaj allegedly leaked the song to Funkmaster Flex, a popular radio DJ, and the song then traveled on the internet.
According to court papers in the case, Minaj and her reps sought a license to Chapman's composition. One of the clearance specialists put on the task is said to have known that Chapman was on the “do not sample list”— an unwritten list of artists that were well-known for not allowing samples of their works. Minaj's team made efforts anyway, but Chapman rejected a request. Minaj persisted, but the song only got out through leak.
On summary judgment, U.S. District Court Judge Virginia Phillips came to the interesting conclusion that Minaj had a fair use right to use the song in the studio to enable musical experimentation — "A ruling uprooting these common practices would limit creativity and stifle innovation within the music industry" — while setting up a trial to explore the facts and responsibility for the leak and ultimate distribution of the song. Minaj may have had some hopes of ultimate prevailing, though there was still significant evidence against her.
In any event, both sides now agree that $450,000 is a reasonable amount for a copyright judgment on this controversy.
Lorlumun had inherited Gana’s gang after the latter’s death and had carried on as the leader until soldiers arrested him in Katsina Ala, the home town of the late dreaded militia leader, last month.
Reputed as the chief priest to the late Gana, Lorlumun said he owned a shrine from where he prepared charms with human parts and also owned a human blood boiling pot from which he was able to see the enemies of the late Gana and target them from his shrine.
Lorlumun, the chief priest of the late Gana, was arrested by the Four Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army in Katsina Ala, following which he led soldiers to the shrine where he prepared powerful charms for Gana to operate freely in Benue State.
Speaking with The Nation correspondent in Tiv language at the Command Headquarters in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State where he is kept under watch, Lorlumun said he used his shrine to shield Gana from arrest by security agents until he (Gana) voluntarily decided to come out from hiding only to meet his untimely death.
He said: “My name is Ugbe Lorlumun. I am a harbalist and owner of a powerful shrine in Katsina Ala.
“I used to prepare mystical powers for the late Gana. Most of the people he kidnapped were taken to the shrine where they were killed and their body parts use in preparing charms for Gana and his gang members.
“Each time Gana boys were going out for an operation, whether assassination, kidnapping, banditry or any other form of criminal activity, they would come to me to help prepare charms that could make them disappear from danger spots to safe locations.
“I also have a blood-boiling pot in my shrine, which enabled me to see all the enemies of Gana and their plans for him, and that helped him to launch attacks on them.”
It was also gathered that between 2015 when the activities of Gana got to its peak and 2020, the chief priest using his blood-boiling pot in the shrine allegedly guided the late Gana in killing the District Head of Mbayongo, Chief Aloo Alvev, as well as the District Head of Michihe, Chief Chiahemba Livinus Shom, both in Katsina Ala Local Government Area.
It was apparently with the help of the shrine also that Gana was able to kill Chief Awua Alabar, the District Head of Kundav in Ukum Local Government Area, who was gunned down in the presence of his family members.
Speaking further, Lorlumun said: “I am a herbalist from Katsina Ala LGA of Benue State. I used to prepare charms for Gana and his boys. Recently, four of his boys came to me and I prepared charms for them.
“The other day, they came back to me and asked me to prepare a charm that could make them disappear in danger situations because I am an expert in that. I can prepare a charm that would make one disappear to a safe place when in danger.
“I told them that they were too small to carry such charms, so I refused and they threatened to kill me. I was arrested by the military while I was trying to run for my life from the Gana boys.”
Lorlumum recalled that with the help of his shrine and the charms, Gana constituted himself into an alternate government and enjoyed the status of a maximum ruler in the jungle.
The chief priest said he shielded Gana from arrest and the notorious criminal used his shrine to run a sophisticated network of criminals in the Sankara geo-political axis of Benue State, comprising Katsina Ala, Logo and Ukum LGAs.
He confessed that from his shrine, Gana conducted his affairs in commando style and any challenge to his authority was met with death as his blood-boiling pot would locate you.
He said: “We used to kidnap or assassinate people, kill them and use their human parts to prepare mystical powers, though part of his powers was also derived from his small daughter he buried alive.
“With my charms, which allow one to disappear at will, he made life unbearable for the people and those who plied the federal highway between Katsina Ala-Takum and Katsina Ala Zaki-Biam – Wukari in Taraba State.
“When he was declared wanted, I prepared a powerful charm for him and nobody was able to arrest him. He used to move freely in his base in Katsina Ala , Ukum and Logo, and most times, he would be in Gboko but those that were looking for him will not see him.”
He pleaded with the military authorities not to kill him, saying that he had repented. He said he only used his shrine to prepare charms for the late Gana and his boys but never participated in their notorious activities.
The Commander of 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army, Major General Gadzama Ali, said: “I would like to state that before now, it was unfathomable that Gana’s name would be mentioned among the Tiv, Jukun or Kuteb for fear that Gana, under the direction of his chief priest, would see you in the blood-boiling pot in his shrine and his gang members would go after you.
“Today, I am pleased to inform you that not only did the operation of SFs (Special Forces) snatch the chief priest, I am glad to tell you that the dreaded shrine has been razed to dust.
“The chief priest has been responsible for preparing charms for the gang, using parts of the bodies of kidnapped persons.”
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “There have been reports that some homes broke up because of s.e.x but I am sorry to say this, some people are limited in their s3xual expression because of religion.
Some women just lie down there (during s.e.x) because they are scared of expressing themselves. But, men can encourage their women to be more expressive, without using abusive languages.
“Also, if the woman is not in the mood, her wishes should be respected. There are other things, aside from s.e.x, that a man should concern himself with.
I consider it a turn off for a man to like s.e.x too much. I feel some men are insatiable (s3xually). Some people have said that when one is legally married, there is nothing like r*pe. But, I don’t agree with that.
Any s.e.x that is not consensual is r*pe. The woman could even get injured in the process. Would we still call that pleasure?
One’s husband should not forcefully have s.e.x with one. I am not saying a man should not have s.e.x, but he should control his appetite for it so that it doesn’t lead to his destruction.
I feel the wife can report this kind of case if she cannot talk to the husband, but should go to the family first. If he does not change, then she should take it to the authorities.”
Abubakar also advocated for castration as the ideal punishment for rapists. She added, “Any rapist caught should be castrated because rape is a pandemic just like COVID-19.
Many people do not seem to know the extent to which rape damages victims psychologically. People have to take responsibility for their behaviours. I know a lady that eventually died after being r*ped. She went through hell. I also know a man who tried something with a neighbour’s child but thankfully, he did not succeed. Because of that, I don’t talk to him till date.
Rapists should be castrated. When it is done to some of them, others will learn how to control themselves or get married.”

Social media platforms have come under growing pressure to take further action against Trump in the wake of Wednesday’s riot, where crowds of Trump supporters breached the building amid chaotic scenes in which at least five people died.

The remains of the lady who reportedly left home to visit one Pastor Side Masodje alleged to be her lover was found at a mortuary in Ahaoda, headquarters of Ahoada East local government area of Rivers State.
The mortuary management said her corpse was brought in on December 26, 2020 as a car accident victim.
It was learnt that the Pastor Masodje who was arrested and detained after the lady was declared missing has been granted bail by the police.
The discovery of the remains of Ngegbarane however come with a new twist as her sister, Victoria has released a video in which she claimed that that her late sister was pregnant for her Pastor lover before she went missing.
She claimed that the Pastor had pleaded with her late sister to terminate the pregnancy by giving her N20,000.
Victoria also said her late sister was so much in love with the Pastor the she used his photo as both screen saver and wallpaper in her now missing phone.
Pastor Masodje was initially arrested by some officers of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army , Port Harcourt , over disappearance of Nwigbaranee based on the report of her father.
The Pastor was later transferred to the Police based on the insistence of the ;awyer for the missing girl’s family, Gobari Deebom.
Deebom had journalists in Port Harcourt that since the case was that of suspected abduction,it is within the purview of the Police and not the Army.
Deebom said the undergraduate had told some family members that she was going to visit the Pastor on Christmas Day.
He however said her parents became suspicious when Pastor called them a few days later, asking for Beauty.
The lawyer said, “ It is a suspected case of abduction since 25,December , 2020 when she visited a pastor, also suspected to be her boyfriend or man friend.
“Since that 25th till 26th, 27th December, 2020, her phone went off.
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, who addressed journalists in Abuja after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, said he and his colleagues had accepted to do so.

According to him, whatever purpose the government wants to achieve with the exercise could be achieved later after the pandemic had subsided.

“It is important that people are considered first. But when you say people should start registering for NIN, it means that you are endangering the people.”
