Check out this beautifully designed car made in Ghana [video]

Anyway Ghanaians are just like Nigerians.

Instead of praising the man who put it together, they started asking why the car is sounding like a generator and the mockery went on and on.

Kontinu o, that's how to make Africa great.

A video of the beautiful machine below...

Trump pardons Lil Wayne, Kodak Black in last-minute spree

Donald Trump granted pardons to rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black on Tuesday night as part of a last-minute spree that saw Trump issue clemency to many political allies on his final full day in office.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty on a federal weapons charge last year and received a full pardon. Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, received a commutation after being charged in 2019 with falsifying information on federal forms to buy firearms.

Bradford Cohen, the attorney for both rappers, confirmed that both rappers were granted clemency.

“President Trump and his administration have been tireless advocates on behalf of the African-American community,” Cohen says. “These pardons are a perfect example of this administration following up on its reforms and commitments.”

FFK finally accepts Trump's defeat, waves him goodbye

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has finally given up the fight against non-trump fans and Biden, waving his great motivator bye from office. Trump leaves office today.

Recall FFK had always said Trump would be sworn in for a second term and even when Trump insisted he won and that Americans would see this ''fact'', FFK danced behind him -- fully supporting him on twitter -Trump's favourite microphone before he got banned.

Anyway Mr Fani has given up and has now waved his ''friend'' bye.

Waving him bye, FFK shared his photo and wrote; ''You stood against evil, fought a good fight and shone your light upon the world. No-one can take that from you. Proud of you: now and always. Farewell and Godspeed President Donald J. Trump.''

President Buhari will be remembered like Trump – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari again, saying he would be remembered like outgoing American president, Donald Trump.

The former governor said Nigerians could not wait to see the end of the regime of President Buhari, just as Americans look forward to the exit of Donald Trump.

“Buhari will be remembered like Trump because it is obvious that he is the low budget Trump when damages done to their countries are compared, Fayose tweeted.

Fayose alleged further that everything has been destroyed under the watch of President Buhari.

“Everything that matters has been destroyed under the watch of Buhari. All the values that we share as a country – economy, security, human rights, rule of law, credible elections, and unity of the country have been destroyed.

80-year-old man dies after night out with 33-year-old girlfriend

What should have been a normal leisure time on a Saturday afternoon at a Dar es Salaam hotel, Tanzania ended badly for a city resident, 80 year-old David Mluli, who died in circumstances that are subject to police investigation.

Mr Mluli reportedly collapsed and died suddenly on Saturday  while he was in room number 22 at  Mbezi Garden Hotel in Dar es Salaam where he had gone to relax  in the company of his 33 year-girl friend Ms Neema Kibaya .

Sources say the two had arrived shortly at the hotel with Mluli arriving first before his companion.

The Kinondoni Regional Police Commander, Mr Ramadhan Kingai, confirmed the incident yesterday.

He told journalists that the police force received a phone call from Mbezi Garden Hotel manager Newton Mkonda on January 16 at around 3pm. The caller informed the law enforcers of the sudden death of a client at the hotel who had occupied room number 22.

“The police arrived at the area and found Mr Mluli’s body along with a woman who identified herself as Neema Kibaya. Ms Kibaya told the police of the love relationship she had with the deceased,” Mr Kingai said.

Police then took the body to Mwananyamala Hospital for postmortem while Ms Kibaya, a resident of Goba and a businesswoman, has been detained. Preliminary investigations, he said, showed that Mr Mluli could have died from a normal death because his body shows no signs that there was any form of confrontation between him and any other person prior to the death.

“There were no direct physical signs that could have been noted as doubtful with exception of his under wears getting wet before he passed away,” said Mr Kingai.

While searching in the room, police found out that Mr Mluli was in possession of Sh37,000, his national identification card and Tecno mobile handset.   Medical experts at the Mwananyamala Hospital will conduct a postmortem as soon as his relatives have shown up.

“Postmortem protocols demand the presence of a relative of the deceased who has to identify the body before burial preparations,” hinted Mr Kingai.

FG to lift 20 million Nigerians out poverty in 2 years - Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has assured that with the successful activation of the Economic Sustainability Plan’s (ESP) Cash Transfer scheme, the present administration’s vision of reducing extreme poverty by lifting at least 20 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next two years is now within reach.

He stated this, on Tuesday, in Abuja, while flagging-off, virtually, the cash transfer scheme to be facilitated through a wholly technology-based approach called the Rapid Response Register (RRR).

According to a statement issued by spokesman, Laolu Akande, the scheme is aimed at delivering financial support to at least 1 million urban-based households using technology.

The statement explained that RRR is the means by which urban poor and vulnerable population can be speedily identified using geographic satellite technology and other related means for the purposes of delivering cash to households affected by the fallouts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

It quoted the vice president as saying: “The groundbreaking success of the RRR, now emboldens us to achieve our aspiration of a social security programme for a minimum of twenty million Nigerians in the next two years. This will be the largest of its kind on the continent. This (aspiration) is, at least from the perspective of this tested approach, now well within our reach.

“The only constraint, of course, is the funding which we must look for because this country deserves a social security scheme that will not merely alleviate poverty but also create wealth for the millions of those who are waiting for this opportunity.

“Our government launched the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP) in 2017 to provide the framework for institutionalizing the work we started since 2016 on reducing extreme poverty in Nigeria, based on our administration’s vision to create a comprehensive social security programme for the poor and vulnerable and thereafter the pledge to lift 100 million Nigerian’s out of poverty in ten years.”

Ogun bans fuel tankers, articulated vehicles from flyovers

Mr Abiodun announced this decision during his assessment visit to the scene of tanker explosion, which occurred on Monday in Abeokuta, claiming three lives with many others injured.

The governor also vowed that stiffer punishment would be meted out to any tanker driver found culpable.

According to him, the ban is meant to safeguard the lives and property of the citizens.

The governor, however, confirmed the death of three persons as against the one earlier reported in the Tuesday’s tanker explosion, while six others sustained injuries.

INEC planning to make NIN compulsory for voter registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission is considering making the National Identity Number a precondition for registering voters when the continuous voter registration exercise commences in a few weeks, The Punch has learnt.

A national commissioner at INEC disclosed this during an interview with The Punch on Tuesday.

He said the NIN would help tackle challenges of underage voting, alien voting and other challenges associated with registration.

The national commissioner, who wished to remain anonymous because he was not authorised to speak, said a final decision would soon be reached.

The INEC official explained that the permanent voter card was only supposed to be in use for a maximum of 10 years, adding that most countries rely on a national database and not the Permanent Voter Card for voting.

He said, “The NIN is the ideal. When we want to begin the continuous voter registration, we may consider it because ordinarily, a national identity card is what should be used for voting. When the PVC was introduced, it was meant to be in use for 10 years and the assumption was that within those 10 years, the national identity card would be in use by a majority of Nigerians.

“I can tell you that the NIN will be one of the preconditions for registration when the CVR starts. We are trying to harmonise all databases.”

When contacted on the telephone, the Director, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, Nick Dazang, said he could not say for sure if the NIN would be a precondition for registration, adding that meetings were still ongoing.

He said once a final decision had been made, INEC would officially inform Nigerians.
