If anybody wants to kill us, there are millions and one ways to kill us. But I am not giving an answer to anything that the Covid-19 vaccine is this or that. The vaccines are free, we are not paying for the vaccine, it is your choice to take the vaccine.”

Ban foreign jeans, promote local fabrics, Oluwo urges FG
Speaking as a custodian of culture, Oluwo lamented the undue influence of cultural imperialism and infiltration of religion into the nation’s cultural values, especially the Yoruba people.
He noted that traditional rulers had significant roles to play in distinctively differentiating Yoruba culture from religion by encouraging production and use of local fabrics in the country, especially in Yoruba land.
Oba Akanbi explained that he had earlier discussed partnership deal with the Bank of Industry (BOI) on this regard, but to no avail.
He expressed hope in the federal government’s involvement in embracing and domesticating production of various dresses such as suits, jeans and agbada with local Ofi.
The monarch expressed displeasure at lumping the rich Yoruba culture with idolatry, noting that no enlightened person would embrace a scaring religion.
Oba Akanbi explained that the youths and teenagers could not be forced to start wearing Aso Oke except the fabric was sewn to suit their needs.
The monarch, who has had the fabrics sewn into different trendy styles for male and female, said he would partner celebrities, especially Nigerian government to sew new styles and gain acceptance of local fabrics among youths.
In a statement by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, the Oluwo said: ‘I want to task the federal government to outrightly ban the importation of foreign jeans into Nigeria and promote local jeans made of Ofi to aid job opportunities and advantages.
‘It is about using our own fabrics to make western clothes which our kids like. You must think like the children and the youths if you want to influence them in any way.
‘We cannot compel our youths and teenagers to start wearing agbada made of Aso Oke or Aso Ofi. But now I have branded our Aso Oke as Telu Jeans and Telu Jeans is normal jeans trousers, shorts and jacket made of Aso Oke.
‘Our traditional clothes and accessories such as Ofi and beads are a demonstration of rich culture and luxuries of wealth. They are so enticing and admirable but because people attribute wearing Ofi and use of some cultural accessories as paganism, our children begin to run away from it.
‘You only see a Yoruba child wearing Ofi and using beads at either wedding or naming ceremony. You can’t see Alfa or pastor wearing Ofi or using beads to mosque or church. Why?
‘I will lead the struggle to clean our culture and promote cultural accessories. I will provide technical requirements to assist the government in the actualisation of the dream.
‘Aso Oke will also be used to sew suits and all office, school and religious wears. This will increase the demand for this local fabric and create jobs for our people who are weavers. It will also promote our culture and we will spend less money on the importation of foreign clothes.
‘It is about using our own fabrics to make clothes from the western world which our kids like. You must think like the children and the youths if you want to influence them in any way.
‘As traditional rulers, we have the role of clearly differentiating between the rich Yoruba culture and religion. The infiltration is scaring to our children. The culture has been lumped with traditional religion. It is disheartening. Our culture is clean. It has to be promoted and clearly distinguished to make it adorable and admirable to our generations.’

Community where Trump finally moved to about to ''evict'' him
According to reports by HuffPost and an earlier one by New York Times, the former president is set to once again violate a length-of-stay provision he signed with the town three decades ago.
On Wednesday, Trump was at his property for more than seven consecutive days in 2021, having arrived a week earlier, half an hour before his successor, Joe Biden, was sworn in at the U.S. Capitol.
A 1993 “special exception use” permit that Trump signed, allowing him to convert the mansion into a for-profit social club, stipulated that only 10 guest accommodations were allowed, and that no one would stay there longer than seven days, and not more than three times a year.
Palm Beach Mayor Kirk Blouin told HuffPost that Trump’s apparent decision to live there permanently is being examined by the town’s lawyer. “This matter is under legal review by our Town Attorney, John ‘Skip’ Randolph,” Blouin said, adding that the matter may come before the town council at its Feb. 8 meeting.
Randolph confirmed that he is reviewing the issue, but said he has not made any preliminary findings.
The Trump Organization ― Trump’s family business that operates Mar-a-Lago, his golf courses, his hotels and his various other properties ― said in a statement: “There is absolutely no document or agreement in place that prohibits President Trump from using Mar-a-Lago as his residence.”
The twice-impeached former president bought the winter estate in 1985.

Disgraced footballer jailed for having s.e.x with 14-year-old girl
Ex-Bradford City winger Tyrell Robinson, once with Arsenal's academy, was almost 20 when three 14-year-old girls joined him and his friend Korie Berman at his flat in Bradford in August 2018.
The player, since sacked by the club, knew the girls' ages and had discussed with Berman the fact they were underage, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Robinson, now 23, was jailed for three-and-a-half years after he admitted s.e.xual activity with a child, making an indecent image of a child and distributing an indecent image of a child.
The indecency charges related to taking a photo on his mobile phone of Berman with two drunk, n.*.ked 14-year-olds in the footballer's spare room.
Robinson then shared the photo with Berman, along with emojis indicating sexual activity and the police, the court heard.
Berman, then aged 19 and now 22, was jailed for six years after admitting five counts of s.e.xual activity with a child.
Gillian Batts, prosecuting, said Robinson had met the victims at a social event he had been told not to attend by club bosses.
Bradford City had given all players safe-guarding training regarding young and vulnerable people, including not to give under-18s their contact details, the court heard.
But Robinson did make contact with two of the girls after the meeting and was aware they were underage.
He messaged one saying: "I think you are stunning but your age is a killer."
Berman at one point messaged his friend to say: "Bro why dat ting from your ends so sexy?"
The footballer replied telling him she was only 14 and to "calm down" - something the sentencing judge called "nothing short of hypocrisy" given what was to happen later.
The court heard Berman looked up a BBC website article titled "What happens if you have underage sex" and took a screenshot of it.
The court heard Berman had sex with one of the 14-year-olds on two separate occasions at Robinson's flat - when the footballer was away - and gave his victim nitrous oxide from a balloon on the second occasion, which made her light-headed.
On August 13 2018, three girls who had already drunk vodka came to the player's flat where Berman and Robinson gave them more alcohol shots.
The two girls Robinson photographed with Berman had little or no recollection of what he did with them, the court heard, but he told police they had s.e.x.
They were both violently ill later.
Robinson took his victim to his bedroom and had s.e.x with her, stopping when one of the other girls came in to tell his victim that her mother was one the phone.
In the following days Berman tried to save Robinson, telling the mother of one of the victims that the footballer would lose his job.
Berman was arrested at the player's flat while Robinson was arrested at Macclesfield Town's ground, where he told police: "Is this about my mate, I have been worried about him?"
Marie Spenwyn, for Robinson who is from South Ockendon, Essex, said: "He has let his family down and everyone who believed in him, from the Arsenal academy to Bradford Football Club."
She said his football background, including being away from home at an academy from a young age, lead his "maturity to not be what it should be".
