Recall he was picked up by DSS immediately after his sack?

Now, Dawisu says he left Government a happy man. According to him, the goodwill he got when he got into government 5 years ago, can;t be compared to what he is getting now, as they asked him to bow out. He tweeted;

Nigerian man rocks Dashiki shirt and jeans for his white wedding [photos]

A Nigerian man, Conam-Moses Orseer Anyamikegh from Benue state rocked a Fulani Dashiki shirt over a pair of jeans for his wedding.

His wife however went the usual way --  a full-length gown.

Their wedding took place on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at NKST Church Iortyer in Makurdi, Benue State.

Shortly after photos of their wedding was shared on social media, many felt the groom didn't do the right thing and slammed him. He saw those comments and has now responded saying the way he dressed has nothing to do with the way his marriage will turn out.

"It's a Sunday, a day after our wedding, and we are full of Thanksgiving! To God we return all glory, to men of goodwill we say thank you!," he wrote.

"One thing I (The Husband) would say is, the wedding has come and gone. The varying opinions and debates about my simple outfit does not define how our marriage would be

"There has never been a perfect wedding nor marriage, but when two hearts agree to accommodate their imperfections like we have done, there's very little wedding suits or gowns can do to change that resolve

"We love all of you and God bless all of you for being part of our big day. My wife and I are grateful, cheers!"

Police confirm arresting OPC members over Wakili

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) involved in the arrest of suspected kidnap kingpin,  Iskilu Wakili, on Sunday.

Wakili, alleged to be the leader of the herdsmen in Ayete, was arrested by OPC operatives in the Ayete area of Ibarapaland in Oyo state over alleged involvement in various forms of criminality in the area.

Farmers and residents of Ayete accused Wakili of working with dozens of herders who are his disciples to seize hectares of farmlands, r.a.p.e women and kidnap people for ransom.

However, after months of evading arrest,  members of OPC led by one Adedeji Oluwole led his operatives and members of other vigilante groups to apprehend Wakili  on Sunday morning.

The OPC leader said it took over four days of continued operations and surveillance to nab Wakili and three of his accomplices.

“We took Wakili and the three others from Igangan to Igboora and handed them over to the DPO at Igboora. The name of the DPO is Ajayi Mark. As I am talking to you, they have taken them to Iyaganku at the State CID in Ibadan with three of my boys,” Oluwole told Punch.

But he said the police detained three of his men after they handed over Wakili.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, spokesperson for the police command in a statement on Sunday evening confirmed the arrest of three members of OPC.

He said the OPC members were arrested and detained for their involvement in arson and murder.

“The Oyo State Police Command would like to inform the general public that at about 0900 hrs of date (7th March 2021), information was received that a group of persons, (later found out to be members of the Odua Peoples Congress- OPC), had invaded Kajola community in Ibarapa axis of the State.

“The invasion was reportedly aimed at arresting one Wakili, a Fulani by tribe, who is alleged to be the sponsor and mastermind of various criminal attacks against the people/farmers of Yoruba origin in the community.

“The Commissioner of Police has quickly moved into action and preliminary findings revealed that some OPC members went to Kajola community in Ibarapa North Local government Area of Oyo State.

“While there, the house of the Wakili in question was set ablaze, while a female (the identity of who is yet to be ascertained) was burnt in the fire and Wakili (about 75 years old and blind) with two other persons were picked up.

“The three of them are presently in the custody of the Police. The Commissioner of Police has directed that Wakili (due to his frail appearance and state of health), be moved to the hospital, while others are being interrogated. Others being interrogated are the OPC members, involved in arson and murder.

“Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that any person or group of persons from any region or tribe that has been found culpable to have committed any criminal act(s) in the State would not be spared but would be arrested and dealt with according to extant laws.

“In conclusion, anybody that has any case against Iskilu Wakili should report it to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (CID) Iyaganku Ibadan for discreet Investigation”, the statement read.

We won’t allow use of Hijab: Cheribum Church rejects Kwara Govt order

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide in Kwara on Sunday rejected the use of Hijab by female students at the Cherubim and Seraphim College, llorin, ordered by the State Government.

The Chairman and Spiritual Father of the church, Most Reverend Samuel Abidoye, made the church’s position known to newsmen in Ilorin on Sunday.

According to Abidoye, the movement is against the use of the Muslim veil by female students of the school since the church would be responsible for the appointment of the management of the institution and decide on dress code and use of beret.

The Secretary of Ilorin District headquarters of the movement, Mr Samson Ibidoja, also stressed that the maintenance of the school has been the sole responsibility of the church.

He said the Cherubim and Seraphim College at Sabo-oke in llorin owned by Seraphim Church Worldwide was established in 1969 to take care of the educational development of children.

The church therefore advised the government to revisit its decision on the matter to forestall unnecessary trespass capable of leading to breakdown of law and order in any part of the state.

Reacting, the Chairman of Muslim Stakeholders in Kwara, Prof. Hamzat AbdulRaheem, said the state government decision on the use of Hijab by female students in all schools must be respected to allow peace continue to reign in the state.

“What the Christian brothers and sisters are carrying to the whole world is false, there are many Christian private schools in the state that Muslims can’t enforce the use of Hijab, but that of public schools is different,” he said.

He said the Cherubim and Seraphim College like some schools established by some Muslim organisations are not owned solely by Missions that established them and could not dictate how the schools must be administered.

AbdulRaheem however advised the Cherubim and Seraphim Church to either abide with the state government decision on the use of Hijab by female students or request for the taking over of the school with the sharing of its assets and liabilities.

10 Christian schools were closed down by the state government over the prohibition of the use of Hijab by female students in those schools.

The state government immediately swung into action by calling a stakeholders dialogue between Christians and Muslims and later came out with a decision to allow the use of Hijab by female students in all schools in the state.

Four OPC operatives allegedly in police custody for arresting Wakili

Men of the Oyo State Police Command have allegedly arrested four members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) for arresting the notorious herdsman, Iskilu Wakili, who has been terrorising residents of Ayete and its environs in Ibarapa area of Oyo State.

A top security source in the state, who pleaded anonymity, stated this to The Nation.

He said police authorities questioned the right and propriety of the OPC members to have arrested Wakili

A close aide of the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Gani Adams, also confirmed the arrest of the four OPC members, saying the group is watching the unfolding development with keen interest.

When contacted, Oyo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olugbenga Fadeyi, could not confirm the arrest.

He said he was not aware of the development.

He however wondered why the OPC men would arrest an individual, a duty reserve for security operatives, especially the police.

He said: “I don’t have any detail about such arrest. But the OPC are not the police. How can they arrest another person? I will find out to know what happen and where they have taken Wakili to.”

Wakili, who has been terrorising farm owners in Ibarapa communities in Oyo State, was reportedly arrested in the early hours of Sunday.

He has been linked with several nefarious activities, including seizure of hectares of farmland, r.a.p e and kidnapping rich indigenes in the area for ransom, among many other despicable atrocities.

He became more popular following the recent eviction of the Seriki Fulani of Igangan, Abdulkadir Saliu, by Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho at the height of the agitations against increasing activities of suspected killer herdsmen in Ibarapa area of the state.

Wakili reportedly mounted no-cross zone on farms, sending warnings to the indigenes of Ayete, even as often boasted that he cannot be evicted from the town.

Said to be speaking Yoruba Language fluently, he is the leader of herdsmen in the Ayete area of Ibarapaland, with dozens of herders as his disciples.

Together with his battalion of herders, he was alleged to have displaced farmers and forcefully invaded their farms with cattle and also shot farmers who trespassed into the no- cross zone he created.

Due to his alleged deadly atrocities, farmers could not harvest any crop as he and his team does all the harvests while the farmers have nothing to show for their efforts.

Wakili’s farm produces bountiful harvest and the local people buy his produce.

Confirming the arrest of Wakili, Kehinde Aderemi, Special Assistant on Media to Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, said: “Yes, he has been arrested by our team. You will get details later.”

Notorious herdsman Iskilu Wakili arrested in Oyo

The notorious herdsman terrorising communities in Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun areas of Oyo State, Iskilu Wakili, has been arrested.

The Nation learnt he was arrested on Sunday morning in Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government.

Wakili had been alleged to have masterminded the killings and abductions in the communities.

He was arrested by men of the Odua Peoples Congress(OPC).

Kehinde Aderemi, Special Assistant on Media to Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams Adams, confirmed his arrest.

The pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere commended OPC for the development.

Its National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, in a statement on Sunday, said: “Afenifere gives tremendous commendation to OPC under Iba Gani Adams for the arrest of iskilu Wakili, a Fulani bandit who has been spreading terror on ou people in Igboho area and the Nigerian Police and other security agencies unable to do anything about him.

“The early morning peaceful arrest confirms our position on how effective local initiative can do well in homeland security.

“We were not shocked that but for the intervention by the leadership in Oyo State, the Police would have gone after the OPC boys instead of taking the criminal from them and do the needful.

“Nigeria is going nowhere with a security network that shuns federalism.”

OPC on February 27 arrested the second-in-command to the alleged dreaded kidnapper, one Isiaka Muhammadu.

COVID-19 vaccine: Buhari, Osinbajo took malaria injections – Pastor Giwa claims

The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has dismissed the COVID-19 vaccination of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo.

Giwa said the COVID-19 vaccines they took were meant to cure malaria.

Addressing his members on Sunday, Pastor Giwa urged Nigerians to be watchful.

In a statement he forwarded to Daily Post, the cleric recalled that he had earlier warned the world in April, 2020, that those who brought coronavirus pandemic were just buying time to prepare for vaccines aimed at shortening the lives of the people.

Buhari and Osinbajo had received jabs of the COVID-19 vaccines on live television on Saturday.

The President was vaccinated by the Chief Personal Physician to the President, Suhayb Sanusi, while Osinbajo was vaccinated by his personal physician, Nicholas Audifferen.

However, Giwa described the exercise as fake, saying the president and his vice only took malaria injections.

He said, “Hear me again God’s people, the vaccines they took were meant for malaria. Do not let anyone deceive you to go take a vaccine that will shorten your life.

“It’s not important to agree with me, but be watchful and careful. Many of you were here in April when I told the world that a vaccine was coming.

“Why do you want to force me to get what I don’t want to? Do not forget that they had wanted to implement this through Infectious Diseases Bill but God said no.

“Now, the devil is using them again to deceive the people. Were you there when they made the vaccines?

“If coronavirus could not kill all of us in March till date, why introduce a vaccine that will shorten our lives? Let those who need it take it. As for me, the only name on my lips is Jesus Christ.

“At the cross over service on December 24, I told you to expect great tribulation anytime soon and only those who endure who will be saved.

“You can’t kill me before God’s appointed time and I refuse to be cajoled, deceived or manipulated. Their plans will fail unless it’s God’s will.”

Trump returning to New York for first time since leaving White House

Former President Donald Trump is returning to New York on Sunday for the first time since leaving the White House, the New York Daily News has learned.

The #MAGA leader will jet back to the Big Apple and stay until Tuesday, sources said Saturday.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller refused to divulge the purpose of the ex-president’s visit.

“Sorry to be a broken record here, but I do not have any additional information on this one,” he said.

Trump still maintains his palatial home at Trump Tower in Manhattan although he changed his official residence to Florida in 2019.

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen mocked his ex-boss, saying he was only returning to his hometown because a larger-than-life golden statue of him isn’t available.

“The human Donald must stand in and be put on display for the multitude of NYC followers desperate to rub the belly and pray at his feet,” said Cohen, who is under house arrest for paying hush money to two women who claim they had affairs with the former president.

It wasn’t clear if ex-first lady Melania Trump would accompany the ex-president.

The Trumps have been mostly holed up at their Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach since leaving the White House on January 20.

The beleaguered ex-president’s return to the five boroughs comes as several New York prosecutors are ramping up investigation into his business dealings.

Both Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr and State Attorney General Letitia James are probing Trump and his namesake company over potential fraud.

Cohen, the ex-president’s former personal fixer, has sat down several times for interviews with prosecutors working on Vance’s Trump inquiry, which is criminal in nature.

Trump’s New York visit does not appear connected to either of the investigations.

He said the judgement came as a surprise to him just as many of his fans were when they heard the verdict.

However, he said he would be approaching the Appeal Court to seek a fair judgement.

He said, “Many of you would have been surprised as I was to wake up one morning and see a judgement from a Rivers State High Court. Well, the court never served me, so the judgement was obtained in my absence.

Days after slamming Ambode, Bode George comes for Tinubu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Chief Bode George, has said he will not stop criticising a former governor of the state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as far as the state’s affairs are concerned.

George claimed that the affairs of Lagos State started going in the wrong direction since Tinubu took control of the state in 1999.

He claimed that all the beautiful legacies left by Tinubu’s predecessors, such as the late Alhaji Lateef Jakance, the late Mobolaji John and Buba Marwa , had been eroded.

George said this in an exclusive interview with Sunday Punch on Saturday to counter a comment made by Tinubu on Friday that the ship of Lagos was going adrift between 2017 and 2018, a period when ex-Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was in charge of the state.

Tinubu, who was speaking in Lagos during the inauguration of the 1.4 kilometre-long Agege-Pen Cinema Bridge, had commended Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who succeeded Ambode.

But speaking on Saturday, George said Tinubu was the one who drove the state in the wrong direction, vowing that he would not stop tackling him.

George said, “The ship of Lagos has been going in the wrong direction since he (Tinubu) ascended the throne of Lagos.

“Right from the days of Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson, Lateef Jakande, Buba Marwa, and all those who have ruled Lagos, people still talk of their legacies. But the ship of Lagos started going in the wrong direction when he (Tinubu) ascended the throne.

“I stand by all that I have said about him. I don’t have anything personal against him but against his policies. His daughter is the Iyaloja of Lagos, his son is the only one that has adverts all over the city and his wife is the one representing Lagos Central in the Senate. O to ge (Enough is enough)!

“We met very encouraging things when we were growing up but today where are they? No scholarship for students, no help for the masses. I don’t have anything against Tinubu but his policies. If he were in Osun State, I wouldn’t have been concerned but as a Lagosian, Tinubu is too important to be left alone and that is why I will continue speaking against his policies.”
