“The 394 new cases are reported from 18 states- Bauchi (75), Lagos (36), Akwa Ibom (33), FCT (32), Nasarawa (29), Kaduna (26), Rivers (25), Ogun (22), Oyo (21), Edo (20), Taraba (18), Imo (17), Ondo (17), Borno (8), Plateau (7), Zamfara (4), Osun (3), and Kano (1),” the NCDC said.

Another Facebook user, Olubadan Oyeyemi, posted in his Facebook page that, "20 bicycles for 5M people."

Gumi disclosed this while rebuking those calling for his arrest and prosecution over his interaction with bandits.
The Islamic cleric described those calling for his arrest as “clowns.”
The Kaduna-based cleric stressed that he was not the first to have negotiated with bandits.
Speaking with Daily Post, Gumi noted that Kaduna and Zamfara States’ governors had met with bandits before him.
Asked to respond to those calling for his arrest, Gumi said: “Those are clowns, even the Kaduna State governor dialogued with them, Zamfara governor dialogued with them.

The Islamic cleric also insisted that his interaction with bandits has yielded instant positive results.
“My interaction with bandits has yielded instant results. When you are dealing with somebody engrossed in criminality, if you approach him as a policeman, you will have a problem but if you come to him as a pastor, he will confess all his sins to you.
“So we approach them as clergy, and they feel comfortable to vomit all their problems. Hence, we see how we can appease and help them.
“We are not approaching them as an authority but from the spiritual angle. You know every human being has that spiritual influence, and that is why we are adopting that,” he added.

A former media executive who turned to politics, Bakayoko acted as a negotiator and intermediary between warring factions as a prolonged civil conflict racked Ivory Coast from the early 2000s.

According to France24 and Reuters, he was flown to France on February 18 for medical checks and later to Freiburg in Germany.
The government said in a statement on Friday that Ouattara had met Bakayoko during a visit in France last week, and given the state of the minister's health, it was recommended that his hospitalisation should be extended.
Ouattara on Monday named his close confidant and chief of staff Patrick Achi as interim prime minister.

The Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, had secured their conviction and sentencing.
Precious was jailed alongside eight others: Chikezie Ogochukwu Michael, Victor Chijioke, Johnbosco Chidiebere, Kenneth Williams, Anthony Joshua Tobechukwu, Mmesoma Oparanozie, Nwosu Emmanuel and Uchechukwu Divine.
The convicts were arrested on February 17, 2021 at Umuguma area of ‘World Bank, in Owerri, Imo state following a petition by a concerned Nigerian on their illicit activities.
During questioning, the convicts confessed to the crime.
They all pleaded guilty to separate one-count charge bordering on impersonation, obtaining by false pretence and fraud preferred against them by the EFCC.
In view of their pleas, Segun Akinrinlade and Joshua Abolarin, the prosecuting counsel reviewed the facts of the case and urged the court to convict them accordingly.
The defence counsel, Innocent Eze and C. N. Nweke Junior prayed the court to temper justice with mercy as the defendants were first time offenders and had shown remorse.
Justice Amobeda, while condemning the rising incidence of cybercrime amongst youths in the region, convicted and sentenced them as follows; Mbewu, Michael and Joshua were sentenced to 6 months imprisonment each with an option of fine of N50,000.00 each while Chijioke, Johnbosco and Divine were sentenced to 3 months imprisonment each with an option of fine of N50,000.00 each. Oparanozie was given 3 months imprisonment with an option of fine of N20,000.00, while Nwosu bagged 6 months imprisonment with an option of fine of N200,000.00. Williams was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with an option of fine of N10,000.00.
The Court also ordered that the convicts forfeit all instruments used in committing the crime to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The fake soldier from Ebonyi State has been impersonating for the past four years before his apprehension by NSCDC.
Vanguard learned that the suspect was arrested by officers of the NSCDC at Igoli, Ogoja and handed over to the 130 Battalion who after preliminary investigation handed the fake officer to the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
Speaking at the 13 Brigade Headquarters on Wednesday while handing over the fake soldier to the Police for prosecution, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General MA Abdullahi said the suspect has been impersonating for the past 4 years.
Brigadier General Abdullahi who spoke through Major SN Ikpeme said several items were recovered from the impersonator.
He said: “During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the suspect has been presenting himself as a serving soldier for four years.
“Items recovered from his residence at 7 stadium road, Igoli Ogoja includes camouflage t shirt, some of his pictures on military uniform, fake Military ID card, prescreening certificate of the Nigerian Army among others”, he said.
He added that the suspect and the exhibits have been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Cristina D'Avila Teixeira Rodrigues, 24, was arrested in Brazil for allegedly executing the businessman with a shot to the back of the head.

The victim, Paulo Roberto Moraes Teixeira Junior, 29, owned an internet installation company, where he met his former partner.
A military police report he was fatally shot on Friday afternoon with a .380 calibre pistol.
Paulo Roberto was rushed to hospital, but died on March 7.
According to Rodrigo, the victim's brother, Rodrigues killed her ex because he refused to pay for her silicone breast implants, which can cost around £1,300 ($1,800) in Brazil.
He told local media: "He gave her a car, a job, money.
"She wanted silicone, but in times of pandemic, the company was cutting costs and he could not give her this surgery.
"They fought a lot because of this on the night she took my brother's life."
The victim's sister, Roberta, told local media her brother employed her at his company and they had a year-and-a-half-long relationship.
She said: "From what we saw, she was just with him out of self-interest. She liked to show off, but she never posted anything about him.
"It seems he discovered something serious about her and they broke up."
According to Roberta, the suspect went to the victim's house and said she wanted to speak to him.
Hours later, his family was told he had been shot.
According to Diario Manauara, she was arrested, but claimed the shooting was accidental.
Chief Marilia Campello, deputy of DEHS, said: "Cristina confessed to the crime, but claimed she had no intention of killing Paulo Roberto.
"She said the businessman had two firearms, one in the house and the other in the car.
The investigation is ongoing.
A statement by the Head, Media and Publicity, Ilorin zonal office, EFCC, Ayodele Babatunde, said operatives on Monday raided the hideout and arrested the suspects.
The arrest, according to the statement, is sequel to a series of intelligence reports on the alleged criminal activities of some Internet fraudsters operating in the area.
The statement read in part, “Officers of the commission had carried out a series of discreet surveillance on the nature of activities going on in the area, which established that the location where the suspects were rounded up, is a hideout for fraudsters.
“Two of the suspects arrested are brothers of the same parent – Dele and Tunde Dada. Others include Segun Kazeem, Adepoju Pelumi, Jejelowo Segun, David Ojo, Sodiq Adetoye, Opeyemi Akiniyi, Michael Ekundayo, Victor Olujobi, Damilola Akinluyi and Attamah Hyauth.
“Others are Ade Ajayi Tobi, Oyewola Adewunmi, Emmanuel Bello, Lekan Oyewole, Oso Opeyemi, Oluwaseun Temitope Ezekiel, Akinrodolu Sunday, Emmanuel Attah, Sunday Adedoyin, George Tobi, Odunayo Daramola, Olubola Olushola Sunday, Temitope Ayomide, Faboro John Oluwagbotemi, Ajibade Timilehin Emmanuel and Momoh Ranti.
“Also arrested are Ajibade Seyi, Eniola Abdulbasit, Oreoluwa Ayuba, Christopher Olutobiloba, Samuel Ajayi, Abiodun Akeem, Tunde Orija, Ajila Ayodeji and Oyeleke Kehinde.
“The raid led to the confiscation of scores of vehicles, laptops, sophisticated phones and other items.
“The suspects are currently being profiled to determine their culpability in the alleged crime and will be charged as soon as investigations are completed.” ,,
The Special Adviser to the Anambra State Governor, Mr Willie Obiano, on medicine and herbal practice, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, disclosed this at a press conference in Awka.
He said the development was part of the efforts of the state government to advance and harmonise herbal medical practice in the state.
He added that the entry qualification for the advanced diploma course would be a first degree in any field of study.

The agency did not disclose the identity of the monarch but said there were efforts to unravel how the illicit drugs were hidden in his palace.
Palace guards are helping to trace the drug dealer, Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi said in a statement on Monday.
Babafemi also said a suspected drug trafficker, Hassan Bishi Taiwo, was arrested at the weekend at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos with three parcels of cocaine concealed in a false bottom of his suitcase.
Taiwo, who was arrested upon arrival onboard Ethiopian airlines on Friday, has been trafficking drugs on Middle East routes for some time, Babafemi said.
