Meghan Markle blogged about Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding years before claiming she didn't know much about the royal family in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey adding that she hadn't researched her future husband.
The American former actress explained to the TV mogul that she "didn't grow up knowing much about the royal family" and did not Google Prince Harry before she met him.
The 39-year-old, who is expecting her second child, also claimed she did not even know how to curtsey when she first met the Queen at The Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The Duchess of Sussex said: "It wasn’t part of something that was part of the conversation at home. It wasn’t something that we followed."
But Meghan wrote about her dream of becoming a princess and Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in her blog seven years ago.
The mum-of-one was working as an actor in 2014 when she wrote in her now-defunct blog The Tig about "the pomp" surrounding Kate and William's 2011 wedding and how she grew up dreaming of becoming a princess, Daily Star reports.
A section published by The Sun states: "Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.
"For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength.
"We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here.
"Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."
Several of Meghan's childhood friends have claimed that she took a close interest in the royal family growing up, particularly Princess Diana.
Ninaki Priddy told The Sun that Meghan was "always fascinated" by the royal family and wanted to be "Princess Diana 2.0".
While royal biographer Andrew Morton said that when Meghan was 16, she watched the funeral of Princess Diana with "tears coursing down her cheeks".
Meghan, who is due to give birth to a baby girl in the summer, said life in the family had taken a devastating toll on her mental health, stating: "I just didn't want to be alive anymore."

A prophet is feared to have suffered impotence after his manhood was stabbed with a piece of a broken beer bottle by a gold panner who had caught him having s3x with his wife in their matrimonial bedroom.
The incident happened in Zananda Village under Chief Nhema’s area in Shurugwi, Midlands province.
Richard Mbaya, who is popularly known as Madzibaba Richy, reportedly caught Sunday Madamba bedding his wife, Waraidzo Mapuranga.
B-Metro reports that a source from the area said Mapuranga was frequenting prayers and fellowships at Madzibaba Richy’s church until she became so close to the “Man of God”.
It is alleged that Madamba, who was also suspecting his wife of cheating on him, on the fateful day came home unexpectedly. When he arrived, he heard his wife groaning in pleasure.
He reportedly forced open the door and found the two giving each other the time of their lives.
Madamba short-circuited the two lovebirds’ intimate act when he started assaulting them.
“He first threw several punches to his wife and intensified his assaults with booted feet before he turned to Madzibaba Richy. He violently pulled him and kicked him all over the body before he struck him several times with a beer bottle on the head.
“And things took an even more sinister turn when he broke a beer bottle and used its pieces to stab Madzibaba Richy on his back and manhood.
According to the source, reports from his relatives are that he has not had an erection since then and it is feared that the injuries might be permanent as he is also having trouble urinating.
The Netherlands has joined a growing list of EU nations to suspend the use of the AstraZeneca jab amid fears of blood clots - with Italy set to start a new lockdown and cases spiking in France.
The Dutch government said the vaccine was being suspended until March 29 as a precaution after Denmark and Norway raised fears of potentially serious side effects.
It comes despite reassurances from the WHO and AstraZeneca that the vaccine is safe, and findings by EU regulators that the occurrence of blood clots is no higher than in the general population.
The UK also came to AstraZeneca's defence today with a member of the government's vaccine committee saying that 'the risks of not having the Covid vaccination far outweigh the risks from the vaccinations'.
But Dutch authorities have opted for caution on the eve of a snap election which will see voters deliver their verdict on the country's coronavirus response in three days of balloting, weeks after a curfew prompted three nights of rioting in major cities.
The Netherlands is the fifth country to pause its roll-out, following Ireland, Denmark, Iceland and Norway, while others including Austria and Italy have black-listed a particular batch of the jab over fears of side-effects.
Ireland is relying on the delivery of more than 800,000 AstraZeneca doses between April and June to reach its target of vaccinating 80 per cent of adults by the end of June - raising the prospect that the delay will prevent it from exiting lockdown.
Austria's fears were raised by a 49-year-old nurse who died soon after getting the jab, while Norway said three health workers who recently had the jab were being treated in hospital for bleeding, blood clots and a low count of blood platelets.
But AstraZeneca says it has found no increased risk of blood clot conditions in its analysis of 17million administered doses - saying that the numbers 'are lower than the number that would have occurred naturally in the unvaccinated population'.
The latest setback to the EU roll-out means that many countries remain vulnerable to a third wave of infections with only a small share of the population vaccinated.
Italy is set to begin a new lockdown on Monday, while Paris could also be facing tighter measures as cases rise, with Germany, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and non-EU member Serbia also seeing a climb in infection rates.
Oh dear, this is the moment a man that appears to be Fan Kayode's aide is called out for wearing one jeans continuously.
You know the former minister likes pictorial details of his activities, and this particular man is always with him. In all photos FFK shared of them in the last few days, this man has been wearing the ''same jeans'', but with different shirts. And no we didn't catch him, a Twitter user did and called FFK's attention to it, immediately he posted their latest outing.
So eagle eyed is the social media that he/she found joy in digging out the rest of the pictures.
We love NAS! Hip-hop maestro Nas finally won his first Grammy on Sunday after 13 nominations across more than two decades.
The 47-year-old rapper from the Queens borough of New York City, won Best Rap Album for his 13th album, “King’s Disease.”
The album beat out “Black Habits” by D Smoke, “A Written Testimony” by Jay Electronica, “Alfredo” by Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist, and “The Allegory” by Royce da 5′9”.
“King’s Disease,” released Aug. 21, was headlined by the lead single “Ultra Black,” an unapologetic celebration of Black culture in America. In an interview with British music magazine NME in November, Nas said that he had attempted to create a record similar to James Brown’s 1968 classic “Say It Loud ― I’m Black and I’m Proud” and said it was necessary for Black artists to make similar anthems because of “the foot on our necks.”
“We’re in a world right now where we’re facing some really terrible racist practices, and there are people who don’t realize it’s happening,” Nas said. “So these records were made to remind us that we are God’s creation, just like every white man, every Asian brother and everyone else.”

Chicago’s mayor has turned the river that runs through the city into an Irish stew for St. Patrick’s Day dyeing it bright green as per a tradition that was nixed last year because of Covid-19.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot had canceled the annual dyeing in 2020 and vowed to do the same this year because of the coronavirus, citing social-distancing concerns over the crowds it typically draws.
But she changed course at the last minute this year in a bid to uplift local spirits and businesses and boat crews began dumping the dye into the Chicago River around 7 a.m. Saturday.
The river-dyeing was not publicized to avoid crowds from congregating on its banks, a mayoral spokesman said.
“We’re happy that Mayor Lightfoot decided to continue with this tradition because we truly missed it last year, as a lot of other things in 2020,” local Lori Jones, 59, told the Chicago Tribune.
The city has been turning its river into something more akin to the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn to mark the Irish holiday since 1962.

About 150 people were arrested in Miami Beach over the weekend as throngs of unruly spring breakers descended on the city.
Friday marked the wildest day in the party hotspot as about 120 people were arrested and two police officers were injured during clashes with the revelers, Local 10 News reported.
“It is really a difficult situation,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said of the weekend debauchery.
“A lot of people are coming here and they are coming here with the wrong intentions,” he said, according to another report from the outlet.
The city is under a midnight curfew amid the pandemic.
The officers who were injured had been attempting to make an arrest when they were attacked, authorities said.
“The crowd ended up turning on those officers who were there,” Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said, according to the report.
The gatherings on Friday led police in some areas to deploy pepper balls to disperse the crowds.
On Saturday, 30 more people were arrested.
Gelber, the mayor, warned would-be spring breakers that more arrests will be made if they continue to disobey laws.
“If you are coming here because you think anything goes, you’re going to have a terrible time. We are going to arrest you,” he said.
