The directive was contained in a communique issued at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting attended by over 50 chapters of NARD.
The communique was signed by NARD‘s President, Dr. Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi; Secretary-General, Dr. Jerry Isogun and Publicity/Social Secretary, Dr. Dotun Osikoya.
According to the communique, the NEC unanimously agreed that NARD should proceed on a total and indefinite strike on April 1, 2021, by 8am if the government failed to meet its demand.
One one the demands, according to the doctors, was immediate payment of all salaries owed to all house officers, including March salaries (regardless of quota system) before the end of business on March 31, 2021.
They also demanded immediate payment of all salary arrears, including March salaries for members in all Federal (GIFMIS platform) and State Tertiary Health Institutions across the country, especially ASUTH, IMSUTH and UNIMEDTH.
The doctors are demanding an upward review of the current hazard allowance to 50% of consolidated basic salaries of all health workers and payment of the outstanding COVID – 19 inducement allowance, especially in State owned-tertiary Institutions.
NARD further demanded an abolishment of the exorbitant bench fees being paid by its members on outside postings in all Training Institutions across the country with immediate effect.
The resident doctors had embarked on strike during last September to demand for implementation of agreement reached with government.
Femi Adesina, a presidential spokesman, described the claim as fake and false.
“It does not exist, it is fake, it is false, it is apocryphal, it doesn’t”, Adesina said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

The FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, confirmed the development in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Sunday, saying that the incident took place on Saturday.
“Eye-witness report reaching us indicates that an unidentified driver of a Lexus car with registration number KSF403GD was on top speed and lost control of the vehicle.
“He knocked down two woman crossing the road and crashed into a building by the side of the road.
“Four people were involved in the crash two male adults and two female adults.
“The victims were taken to Apex Hospital in Igbo Ukwu by a good Samaritan before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Igbo Ukwu Command.
“The male passenger in the vehicle and one of the female pedestrians sustained injuries, while the driver and the other female pedestrian were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
Their bodies had been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary,” Kumapayi said.
While condoling with the families of the dead, he warned motorists against speed limit violations.
The sector commander also advised pedestrians to be watchful when crossing or walking along highways to avoid untimely deaths.

The suspects identified as: Lucky Isibor, Isah Mohammed, and Aminu Abdullahi were arrested by combined team of policemen and local Vigilante men on patrol at the Ikorodu roundabout while allegedly robbing innocent commuters and passers by in the area, on 26th March, 2021 at 11:30pm.

Daily Post gathered that the man, who was identified as Yusuf, from Shagamu had snatched the little boy and tried to make away with him, but was spotted by residents to the area, who promptly descended on him.
The four years old boy, whose name was given as Chukwuka Sunday was also rescued and reunited with his mother, who is said to be a resident of the area.
The Anambra State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident, saying that the kidnapper was rescued and taken to hospital, but was confirmed dead.
He said, “Following credible information received on 27th March 2021 at about 08:30hrs, a young man, suspected to have stolen a child, was being mobbed along Umoudu Okpuno; Operatives of Anambra State Command attached “B” Division Awka, raced to the scene.
“The operatives rescued and reunited the four (4) years old child, named Chukwuka Sunday (m) with the mother, while the suspect, simply identified as Yusuf (m) of about 35 years of age and from Shagamu, Ogun State, was also rescued from the angry mob and rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.”
He said the Commissioner of Police, CP MB Kuryas has directed the conduct of a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of the suspected child trafficker.
He said the CP enjoined residents to promptly submit arrested criminal suspects to the Police for proper investigation and prosecution, rather than engaging in mob action.
The 35-year-old mother said she killed the baby out of frustration.
The Ogun Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told Daily Post on Sunday that Olajoke was arrested by policemen attached to Enugada divisional headquarters, Abeokuta.
It was said that while the police were on routine patrol with the DPO, SP Baba Hamzat, they “saw the woman throwing something suspicious into the river.”
Oyeyemi disclosed that “the suspicious behaviour of the woman, after throwing the object into the river, attracted the policemen who quickly apprehended her for questioning.”
During interrogation, the suspect, a resident of Agboole Alakoye area of Igbo Ora in Oyo State, “confessed that what she threw into the river was the corpse of her one-month-old baby, who she killed out of frustration.”
The woman was quoted as saying that “the person who is responsible for the pregnancy of the baby, rejected her and the baby and since she had no means of taking care of the child, she decided to kill and throw her into the river.”
The police said its preliminary investigation had revealed that the suspect is a mother of six other children owned by three different fathers.
She was impregnated by another man simply identified as Hakeem, who refused to accept the paternity of the child.
“The DPO engaged the services of local divers, who helped in recovering the corpse of the child and it has been deposited at the general hospital mortuary,” Oyeyemi said, adding that the woman would be transferred to the homicide section as ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun.
This was in reaction to a publication, in which Shittu was critical of Dr.Charles Akinola, the Chief of Staff to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Shittu called Akinola, addressing an opportunist and a liability.
The critical comment was posted on Facebook.
Governor Oyetola directed a Committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, to wade into the matter and submit the proceedings of their intervention within 72 hours.
Members of the committee are Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo; Chairman, Osun Security Network and Amotekun Corps Board- Gen. Ademola Aderibigbe.
Others are Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji; and the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode.
She stated this in a viral video on Sunday while defending Rivers State Governor for inviting and honouring the artiste.
In the video, Tacha lambasted those questioning Governor Wike for gifting N10 million and a land. She said although the governor hasn’t done much for Rivers state, he is right to honour an indigene of the state.

He had described the Grammy award-winning Afrobeat singer, as the pride of the state and also promised to give artistes who performed at Burna’s Homecoming Concert in Rivers State N10 million each.
Reacting, some Nigerians on social media who condemned the action accused Wike of wasteful spending while still owing pensioners in the state.
They also took a swipe at Burnaboy for accepting the gift.

With the fame he has got so far, it has also come with increased attention from ladies.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the Headies ‘Rookie of the Year’ winner recounted a weird experience he had with a female fan.
He said, “My weird experience with a female fan was when I went to Edo State for a show. During my performance, I noticed a particular girl who was seemed very excited to see me.
After my performance, we went to the club and when she saw me, she just started screaming. I was scared because I thought something had happened. She just wanted to meet me and I told her to relax. That was only when she calmed down.”

The police in a statement on Sunday accused them of complicity in a series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria and other states.
According to the police, the arrest was the outcome of a joint effort by the police, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Airforce, to nab persons responsible for the emerging trend of attacks on security personnel and wanton destruction of security facilities.
Among the suspects were Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, a 28-year-old from Arochukwu LGA in Abia State; Raphael Idang, 31-year-old native of Odukpani LGA of Cross River state.
Others were Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka ‘Alewa’, 60-years-old native of Orlu in Imo State; Michael Uba, 33yrs from Imo State.
Twelve other suspects were not identified.
The police said that in the course of investigation, the suspects were implicated in multiple felonies committed across several states in the South-Eastern part of the Federation.
“The suspects were arrested in various parts of the country following sustained, and intelligence-driven sting operations”, said Police PRO, commissioner Frank Mba.
“Police investigations clearly established and linked the suspects to several incidents of attacks and murder of security personnel as well as stealing, unlawful possession of firearms, arson and malicious damage to operational assets of military and law enforcement agents.
“Specifically, investigations revealed that the duo of Ugochukwu Samuel aka Biggy and Raphael Idang were among the criminal elements that attacked policemen on duty at a checkpoint on 24th December, 2020 along Orlu-Ihiala Road in Imo state where two police officers were killed and a Police Hilux patrol van set ablaze.
“In addition, both were part of a larger group that attacked a police reconnaissance team on 13th January, 2021 killing one police officer.
“Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, who sustained a bullet wound during an attack by his gang on a military convoy in which some soldiers were killed and weapons carted away, was subsequently arrested while receiving treatment in a hospital.
“Both suspects confessed to being active members of IPOB and ESN.
“Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka Alewa, a pastor with the Holy Blessed Trinity Sabbath Church, Orlu, Imo State and Michael Uba, a prophet with the Association of Jewish Faith, who were also arrested, are two of the masterminds of the various attacks on security personnel, in addition to providing spiritual cover for the gang.
“Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka Alewa’s house was used by the gang members to plan their nefarious operations. He also donated his late brother’s farmland for use as a hideout and training camp for the gang”.
The police recovered from them nine AK47 rifles, five other sophisticated firearms, 17 AK47 Magazines, 549 AK47 live ammunition, 10 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), camouflage bullet proof vests, walkie talkies and other incriminating items were recovered from the suspects.
All the suspects will be charged to court on conclusion of investigations, the police said.
