The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has ordered doctors at the Covid-19 isolation centers to join the ongoing nationwide strike.
NARD threatened that failure to do so will attract a fine of N5m.
The body also warned that any branches ignoring the ongoing strike, which started on April 1, would not be able to hold any national position for the next two years.
The threat to impose a N5m fine on errant branches was contained in an internal memo sent out to members by the National Executive Council of the association, the Punch newspaper reported.
The internal memo read in part, “NARD affirms her commitment to the welfare of all members. All members of NARD will be levied the sum of N2, 500 as a strike levy for the smooth prosecution of the industrial action.
“Penalty for any centre that sabotages the industrial action will be payment of a fine of N5m and suspension from holding any NARD national officers committee positions for two years.”
NARD, an association of doctors undergoing residency training, had on April 1 begun a nationwide strike over the government’s failure to pay salaries of house officers and review the N5,000 hazard allowance of doctors.
Last-minute efforts on March 31 by the Federal Government to prevent the strike failed as the doctors shunned an agreement they signed with the government on the grounds that the proposals contained in it were not new.

He equally directed all officers attached to custodial facilities to remain vigilant at this trying period for the NCoS.

According to Chinese media reports, the woman approached the bride's parents to ask if they adopted their daughter over 20 years ago.

All of the guests who came to the wedding heard about the doubly joyous event and sent their best wishes to the couple and the mother and daughter.
The Ogun State Government says it took its diligence to discover an alleged hidden additional N50bn domestic debt left behind by the immediate-past administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Abiodun said the figures given to it by Amosun’s administration did not capture the entire liabilities it left behind when the former governor left office in 2019.
In a statement signed by Kunle Somorin, chief press secretary to the governor, the administration claimed that not less than N50bn in financial liabilities were not accounted for in the financial report handed over to him in May 2019.
The governor's statement was a reaction to the report by the Debt Management Office which stated that the government incurred N58bn domestic debt within the period of his administration.
The DMO in the report revealed that the Dapo Abiodun-led administration borrowed N58bn as domestic debt in 18 months.
The DMO report which was published on March 15 signified that from June 30, 2019 to December 30, 2020, the Ogun State Government had acquired a total of N58,316,493,347 local debts.
According to the government, the recent report by the DMO showed that the omitted figures by the immediate past administration in the state on the domestic debt had an impact on the DMO report.
Jennifer Arcuri for the first time has told how she fell in love with Boris Johnson during an affair she says lasted four years.
The businesswoman, who is 21 years younger, says they slept together at the flat where she had a pole dancer’s pole.
She says they met up once a week at the height of the affair, she sent arty topless pictures and admits: “I loved him. I adored him.”
Jennifer reveals a mutual “physical and intellectual attraction”. They shared a love of Shakespeare, she codenamed him Alexander the Great, and she says he loved her body and mind and “couldn’t keep his hands off me” on their first tryst.
But ultimately, she says, he was a “cowardly wet noodle” for not standing by her in the row over her presence on foreign trade trips.
Jennifer says her romance with PM Boris – who was Mayor of London at the time – lasted from 2012 to 2016.
It was his second term of office and he was married to now ex-wife Marina, mother of their four children.
Questions first surfaced two years ago when it was revealed Jennifer, 35, was allowed on three taxpayer-funded trade missions led by Boris, 56.
It was clear they were close but she has never confirmed they were lovers – until now.
Talking about s3x, Jennifer says: “We were in an intimate relationship for four years. I loved him, and with good cause. But the man I thought I knew doesn’t exist any more.”
Lifting the lid on the affair she says:
Boris wined and dined her openly at a London restaurant, telling her: “I want to date you, you’re the only American I’ve ever fancied.”
They first had s3x in her Shoreditch flat hours before he sat between Marina and Princess Anne at the opening of the 2012 London Paralympics.
Before he dashed off to the ceremony she had to hunt for a sock he lost in the throes of passion.
He requested racy images of her and said one raunchy picture was “enough to make a bishop kick a hole in a stained-glass window”.
They exchanged s3xual messages, sometimes while he was on mayoral duty.
He had to borrow £3.10 on their first date and later shrugged off concerns about kissing in public, saying: “This is my city, I don’t care.”
Jennifer reveals her astonishing story in an interview with the Sunday Mirror in her native America.
Her revelations are hugely significant, raising questions over public cash and whether Boris breached a code of conduct.
The Greater London Authority probe will examine whether he breached the Nolan Principles of Public Life.
It will examine whether he behaved with “honesty and integrity”, whether Jennifer was given “preferential treatment” and if there was any conflict of interest which should have been declared.
Boris spoke at a series of technology events organised by Jennifer, who went on to receive £126,000 of taxpayer money in event sponsorships and grants. The bulk, £100,000, came in a government grant in 2019.
Harvey Weinstein's legal team have filed an appeal on his r3pe and s3x crimes conviction, saying that the film producer had an unfair trial.
The 69-year-old disgraced movie mogul's legal representative reportedly submitted a 166-page appeal on Monday.
The documents filed in Manhattan claim that the judge who was in charge of the 2020 trial allowed too much testimony about the disgraced personalities reputation and character, The Wall Street Journal reports.
They are claiming that it was unfair and that is what led the jury to convict the Hollywood name - rather than the facts of the case.
According to the outlet, they claim that witnesses were used to “merely [depict] Weinstein as loathsome” during the proceedings.
It is no surprise that his legal team are appealing the conviction as they told that they were planning to do so shortly after the verdict came in following the trial in February, last year.
DMX's family have broken their silence to ask fans and followers for their prayers and support.
The 50-year-old rapper - real name Earl Simmons - went into cardiac arrest and was admitted to White Plains Hospital, north of New York City, according to his lawyer.
Lawyer Murray Richman was unable to confirm reports that DMX had suffered a drug overdose, and said he didn't know what exactly had caused the heart attack.
He added that DMX is breathing on his own, and has been taken off a life support system.
Nakia Walker, DMX's former manager, has since told that he is in a "vegetative state", with "lung and brain failure."
Now his family has shared a statement via People reading: "On Friday night … our brother, son, father, and colleague DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, was admitted to White Plains hospital, facing serious health issues.
"We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges."
Due to Covid restrictions, the vigil was planned for this evening outside the hospital where DMX is being treated.
The mum of a missing teenager has been tragically told the description of a body found by police "matches" her son.
Evidence Joel said investigators gave her the heartbreaking news last night, weeks after searches for London student Richard Okorogheye began.
It comes after the Metropolitan Police announced in a statement a body had been found in a pond in Epping Forest, Essex, where the 19-year-old was last seen heading on CCTV last month.
“Oh God, they said the description matches his, but we’ll go in tomorrow to find out," Ms Joel told My London in a highly emotional call.
No formal identification of the body has yet been carried out.
The Met said investigators are working to identify the remains.
Richard's family are being supported by specially trained officers, after being informed of today's developments.
Richard left his family home in Ladbroke Grove, Kensington, on March 22 and has not been in contact since.
Police believe the Oxford Brookes university student got on a bus in West London and then took a taxi to Loughton, in Essex.
CCTV captured him walking towards Epping Forest in the early hours of March 23.
Prince Harry wants an apology from the Royal Family over the treatment of his wife Meghan Markle, according to a source.
The Duke of Sussex says he was outraged when a member of 'The Firm' allegedly asked how dark Archie's skin would be before he was born.
It was later clarified that neither the Queen nor Prince Philip asked this question.
Meghan also claimed Kate Middleton made her cry during a wedding dress fitting in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey - and not the other way around.
The Duchess, who suffered suicidal thoughts when she was pregnant, also alleged that the Palace refused to provide her with mental health support.
A source has now told US Weekly magazine that Prince Harry wants an apology from his family, the Daily Star reports.
The source claimed: “The problem with Harry is that he’s hooked on being right and regardless of saying he wants to move on from this.
"He won’t back down until he gets some form of apology from his family."
Currently, there has been one official statement from Buckingham Palace concerning the Oprah Winfrey interview, where it was communicated that the Royal Family will look at the concerns expressed by Meghan and Harry.
They said they would be “taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
The official statement added: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
Oprah's friend and fellow host Gayle King revealed that Harry spoke to Prince William and Prince Charles days after the controversial interview, but claimed the conversation was "not productive".

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law that could keep him in office in the Kremlin until 2036, when he will be almost 84 years old.
The legislation allows him to run for two more six-year terms once his current stint ends in May 2024. It follows changes to the constitution last year.
Those changes were backed in a public vote last summer.
Putin was born 7 October 1952. He is at present 68 years old.
He is currently serving his second consecutive term as president and his fourth in total.
The reform, which critics cast as a constitutional coup, was packaged with an array of other amendments that were expected to garner popular support, such as one bolstering pension protections.
The law signed by Putin limits any future president to two terms in office, but resets his term count.
It prevents anyone who has held foreign citizenship from running for the Kremlin.
The legislation was passed in the lower and upper houses of parliament last month.
