Anita who returned from the UK last year and was a staff of NEMA, was shot dead by the police officers at a check point close to her house.
Reacting to the sad news, spokesperson of the force,
Jimoh Moshood, in a statement released on Monday, said the IGP has directed the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The IGP deeply commiserate with the family of the deceased and hereby assure them that justice will be done in the matter. The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command is already in touch with the family as directed by the Inspector General of Police.
The public will be informed of the outcome of investigations into the incident.
The police boss also commiserated with her family and assured them that “justice will be done on the matter.”
