Justice Oluwatoyin Abodunde, after listening to the argument of the concerned parties, ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison and adjourned the matter till October 2, 2019, for further hearing.
Adeyanju, a resident of Irona in Ado Ekiti, who was alleged to have molested his teenage daughter on September 10, 2017, is facing two counts of r-pe and attempted r-pe.
The offences were said to contravene Section 358 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap C16, Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Ekiti State Attorney General, Olawale Fapohunda, who led the legal team from the Ministry of Justice to prosecute the case, called three witnesses, including a medical practitioner, Dr Temitope Olasende, who testified that the victim was truly r-ped.
Olasende informed the court that the victim was brought to him after the alleged defilement on September 11, 2017, and “the medical history and investigation on her showed that she had been with her father since two years after her parents got separated.”
The medical expert further told the court that the medical report revealed the victim’s outer vagina was bruised, but she tested negative to the HIV.
