Mustapha, who is the chairman of the presidential task force on COVID-19, said Nigeria is seen by foreigners as one of the countries that would be crushed by the virus.
At a briefing on Friday, the SGF said Nigerians must wake up to their responsibility by cooperating with law enforcement agencies, especially in compliance with the two-week lockdown directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We need to arise and work as a people to ensure that we have something going for us as a nation,” he said.
“Let’s prove the world wrong on this, because the expectation is that we would crash under this. Major networks of the world are carrying such news items that Nigeria is definitely going to crash under this. But I know the Nigerian spirit that we will overcome this."
