Caitlyn Jenner’s 93-year old mom says she won;t be watching I’m A Celebrity

Caitlyn Jenner’s feisty mother has branded I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 'torture' to watch and thinks the reality star should stick to spending her time on the golf course, MailOnline exclusively reveal.

The ex-athlete’s 93-year-old mum, Esther Jenner, will not be watching the ITV series as Caitlyn joins her campmates Down Under, but thinks viewers will love her and is confident she will be a success on the star-packed reality show.

In a world exclusive interview, Esther blasted: 'We have a Survivor [show] here in the United States, I never watched it, I’ve skimmed over it, or seen previews and I decided that I don’t really care for that.

'That’s not entertainment to me, to see somebody frightened. I think she could spend a lot more pleasant times on the golf course!

'I’ve tried not to think of Caitlyn being over there [in Australia]. It’s three weeks… a long time to go without hearing from her.

'When she’s in the States she calls me almost every day, so I’ve got to live without hearing her.'

Speaking from her home in Lewiston, Idaho, Esther says she’s heard of how mentally challenging the show can be, saying: 'It’s like a competition, I guess, and there are not very many people that get through it. I don’t want to be thinking about that at 1 o’clock in the morning, I cannot sleep.

'I have no idea [why she's doing this]. I don’t ask her questions to get into her mind or how she feels about this or that. My big worry is [she may] get bitten by a snake or a poisonous insect. I’m afraid of snakes anyway, even if they’re not poisonous.

'She had to tell me she was going on this show, and I said, "I never liked the show here in the United States and I didn’t watch it!"'

When the subject turned to the terrifying Bushtucker Trials, including eating cockroaches and being trapped in confined spaces with creepy crawlies, Esther said: 'I don’t what you to say anything that’s going to frighten me or upset me, I’m better off not to know.

How two siblings beheaded my 10-year-old son –Father

Mr Kayode Makinde, the father of 10-year-old Joseph Makinde, who was beheaded by two siblings, Saheed and Ayodeji Obadimeji, on Monday, narrated to a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere how the duo killed his son and held on to his parts at the police station.

Punch Metro had reported that Saheed, 19, and Ayodeji, 18, had on November 27, 2018, around 8.30pm, allegedly beheaded Joseph in an uncompleted building at Sapati, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, over N200,000.

The siblings allegedly lured Joseph into the uncompleted building by sending him to buy a beverage drink for them and when he brought it, they held him and cut off his head with a knife.

The duo alleged that they were contracted by one Sodiq Abefe to produce a human head for N200,000.

The defendants were arrested by the anti-kidnapping operatives of the Lagos State Police Command and were subsequently arraigned before Justice Adedaye Akintoye on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The offences, according to the prosecution, contravene Section 222 (1) (a) and are punishable under Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, Kayode, who is the first prosecution witness, told the court how he saw one of the defendants holding his son’s head, while the other was holding his torso at the police station.

Kayode, who told the court that he knew the defendants and that they live in the same area of Sapati town with him, noted that they were from the same mother but different fathers.

The bereaved father, while being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Yusuf Sule, noted that one of his neighbours, identified simply as Femi, had sent Joseph on an errand on the next street to help him withdraw money from an Automated Teller Machine when he was accosted by the defendants.

Kayode said his son left for the ATM around 6.30pm and did not come back, and when a search party was constituted to look for him, he could not be found and a case of a missing person was reported at the Elemoro Police Station, Ibeju-Lekki.

He added, “The following day, I returned to the police station and the police took me to where a patrol van was parked and showed me the rear of the van, where I saw the dead body of my son. The first defendant was holding his head, while the second was holding the body.

“The police arrested Femi, who sent my son on an errand to the ATM; they took the defendants to Panti and at Panti, I was asked what happened and I narrated what I knew to them and they told me they were working on it.”

Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Emma Nidiyo, Kayode reiterated that he saw his son’s body parts with the defendants and that they confirmed at the police station that they killed Joseph, adding that his son was not a friend to the defendants before he was killed.

Justice Akintoye adjourned the matter till January 20, 2020, for the continuation of trial.

‘I appeal to Nigeria, please open the borders’ – Ghana’s ex president

Mr. John Mahama, Former President of Ghana, on Tuesday, appealed to the Nigeria Government to open up her border so that economic activities can resume in West Africa.

Mahama made the plea while delivering the 7th Anniversary Lecture, Investiture into The Realnews Hall of Fame and The unveiling of the Book: Pathways to Political and Economic Development of Africa in Lagos.

He said that the total closure of, especially, the Benin border was having a significant toll on many small and medium businesses especially in Togo, Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire that relied on inter-country trade.

“I am sure that businesses in Nigeria that rely on supplies from these countries are also suffering. With the signing of the joint border task force agreement between Nigeria and her neighbours, I will like to take this opportunity to appeal to Nigeria to open up her border so that economic activities can resume,” he said.

Terrified 5 year-old boy wet himself and vomited after security guard battered him with belt for wearing pink clothes

A terrified boy accidentally wet himself and vomited after a security guard battered him with a belt for wearing pink clothes.

The child, five, was told by Garret Anderson, 50: “We don’t wear pink. We don’t wear girls’ clothes,” a court heard.

Anderson, of Manchester, admitted striking the boy because he was against boys donning pink.

Neil Ronan, prosecuting, told Manchester Crown Court that the child fled from the guard and, after escaping to the toilet, vomited and “wet himself” over his punishment.

The Manchester Evening News reports that despite Anderson admitting assault, he received just a suspended prison sentence.

The court was told that Anderson told other people he’d struck the boy with his belt, before defending his actions, saying they were, “good, [as he] he won’t do it again.

“When I was younger, we got leathered with a belt.”

The child was left with a bruised hip after the assault.

Plus, he has been “emulating” his punishment to other kids, the court was told.

His lawyer, Miss Ashraf, said Anderson had pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm at the “very earliest opportunity” and gave cops a “full and frank admission”.

She said it was a “very unfortunate incident for all parties.”

Miss Ashraf asked the judge not to jail the man, saying: “He accepts it was wrong, and is genuinely remorseful for his actions.”

Judge Patrick Field pointed out that Anderson “works hard for a living”, and, “beating a child may well have been commonplace in the past. We both know it was.

“But, we don’t do it anymore Mr Anderson. Beating a child of that age with a belt is unacceptable.”

He told him that it was “nothing more than bullying behaviour that can cause a lot more than rather superficial bruises.”

His victim had been left “terrified and deeply upset”.

Anderson was handed a two-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months.

Pope on first time visit to Thailand, Japan

Pope Francis is due to set off on Tuesday evening for his first trip to Thailand and Japan. After his three-day visit to Thailand, he is due to deliver a message against the use of nuclear weapons in the Japanese cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

The U.S. dropped atomic bombs on the two cities during World War II, razing them and killing tens of thousands of people.

In Japan, the pontiff is also expected to meet survivors of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster that followed a powerful earthquake and tsunami.

Francis is only the second pope, after John Paul II, to visit the two Asian countries as Catholics are a tiny minority in both Buddhist countries.

Francis is scheduled to return to Rome on Nov. 26.

Tokyo finishes building stadium for 2020 Olympics

Construction work has been completed at Tokyo’s National Stadium, set to be the centrepiece of next year’s Olympic Games, the site’s owners said on Tuesday.

The Japan Sports Council said the final work had been completed on Thursday with just the final quality and safety checks remaining before the stadium opens next month.

It will be officially unveiled on Dec. 21, with the Emperor’s Cup soccer final being the first sporting event to be held there on New Year’s Day.

Completed at a cost of more than $1.25 billion, the stadium, which can accommodate 60,000, will also host the athletics and soccer events during the Games.

Construction started in December 2016, about 14 months later than planned, after the original design was scrapped because of a public outcry over spiraling costs.

The delay meant the stadium could not host matches of the Rugby World Cup, as originally planned.

The National Stadium is one of eight new venues to be used at the Tokyo Games, all of them are either complete or on schedule to be finished before the event.

The Tokyo Olympics run from July 24 to Aug. 9.
