Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 30, 2019 for the supplementary election to conclude the Kogi West Senatorial District by-election.
INEC, in a statement by its National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, also said the Commission would be conducting the re-run election for the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency seat same day.
According to the statement, areas where the elections will be held will be uploaded on the Commission’s website, adding that collation for both exercises will be according to the usual INEC collation rules.
INEC, however, appealed to all political parties and stakeholders to cooperate with its personnel so that it could eventually deliver a conclusive exercise.
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office have arrested five suspected internet fraudsters.
The were arrested at Exrico Lodge, behind Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State. They were arrested on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in a sting operation.
The suspects are: Onuoha Goodness Chinedu, Harry Victor, Basil Obidiegwu Chukwunaeke, Amayhayi Chukwuli and Nwabueze Nnaemeka.
Their arrest followed series of intelligence linking them with alleged fraudulent activities ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretences and other fraud still being investigated.
Items recovered from them at the point of arrest are: an Apple Laptop; 7( seven) mobile phones of various brands, 2 Wi-Fi devices and 2 Power Banks.
According to the commission, the suspects would soon be charged to court.
The partner of a mother-of-three who died after a £6,500 'Brazilian butt lift' was told by her surgeon that the procedure was 'a guessing game', an inquest heard today.
Leah Cambridge died from a blood clot suffered during the procedure on August 27 last year, one day after travelling to an Elite Aftercare clinic in Turkey.
The trainee beautician, 29, who was 'paranoid about her body', was inspired to pay £6,500 in cash for the operation after seeing photographs on Instagram.
The procedure involved having fat extracted from the waist and injected into the buttocks.
But she suffered a fatal complication when blood fat was accidentally injected into a vein and caused her to have three heart attacks on the operating table.
Ms Cambridge's partner Scott Franks told Wakefield Coroner's Court the surgeon who carried out the procedure told him he had 'injected the fat too far into the muscle and it entered her veins.'
Mr Franks said when he flew out to Turkey after his partner died, Dr Ali Uckan had told him: 'It's a guessing game, you can't see where you are going into.'
He said Dr Uckan's 'exact words' were: 'It's a matter of life and death when you are doing it.'
He said Dr Uckan spoke to him in his hotel in Izmir and did not apologise for what happened, but tried to explain the complications that occurred.
Lawyers acting on the firm's behalf then sent a letter to solicitors representing Ms Cambridge's family suggesting she had taken illicit drugs before her surgery, the court heard.
Mr Franks, who had two young children with Ms Cambridge, told the court: 'He said they took so much out and they were putting it back and her oxygen levels were dropping, so they stopped operating and made Leah stable.
'He just said they got her stable and then she had a further three heart attacks.
'He said everyone's anatomy is different. His words were 'it's a guessing game, you can't see where you're going into, you just have to try to stay away from certain veins'.
'His other words were 'it's a matter of life and death when you are doing it'.
'I asked what happened and he said they had injected too far into the muscle.'
Mr Franks told the inquest it was 'definitely not true' that there were drugs in her system, and the post mortem on Ms Cambridge's body found no sign of any illegal substances.
He added: 'I felt belittled that someone had died and they used an excuse to try to cover it up.
'Leah had been to Ibiza a few weeks before the surgery with her friends. They must have looked through her Facebook profile and seen that.
'She was not the sort of person to take drugs, she had three young kids to think of.'
Dr Lisa Barker, consultant histopathologist, told the court that Ms Cambridge died as a result of a fat deposit entering her veins and travelling through her circulation before clogging her pulmonary artery.

Elite aftercare acts as a 'middle man' between client and surgeon and also provides a luxury villa for the patient to stay in after surgery.
It's no secret that getting your first period can be a rather stressful time for a young girl. Most likely they'll be a little confused and concerned by the blood that's suddenly coming out of their body.
Maverick Austin's 11-year-old daughter, Avi, certainly was when it happened to her recently.
The young girl was baffled by what was going on and initially thought the dark mark on her underwear must have meant that she'd pooped her pants.
So she called her dad and asked if he'd bring her a change of clothes to school - which he did.
However, a little while later the same thing happened again.
The single dad from Texas was in the middle of an important business call when his daughter rang for the second time.
He instructed her to wipe her butt "better" and stuff some toilet paper into her trousers until he could get to the school.
A few minutes after hanging up, he realised what was going on - Avi wasn't pooping herself, she'd gotten her first ever period.
Knowing it was a big moment in his daughter's life and she was probably freaking out, Maverick dropped everything and raced to the school.
He revealed what happened in a viral post on Facebook .
"I interrupt my project meeting and explain to my banking colleagues that I'm VERY sorry but I have to go," he said.
"I'm racing to the school while calling them telling the nurse to 'go find my child!'
"Speeding and having a panic attack because my child called me for help and I just 'left her to die on the battlefield!
"I run into the office and she's standing there very calm looking at me and says, 'Dad... I officially started my first...' and I stoppped her and said 'I already know Avi... it hit me a few minutes after I hung up on you.'
"The stress of raising a daughter."
His daughter went on to joke that she deserved a treat. like when your tooth falls out, so her dad decided to create 'the period fairy'.
He nipped to the shop and bought Avi chocolate, ice cream, cookies, a flower and a card that said "You've got this!" while she was in the shower.
People on Facebook were really impressed with the way he handled the situation and thought he might be "on to something" with the period fairy idea.
One person replied to his post, saying: "What you did and how you handled all of this was amazing! Such a great dad!!"
Someone else wrote: "Wow, I’m impressed with how amazingly you handled that!! Oh & BTW, I think you might be onto something there with the period fairy!"
A third person added: "Aww, good daddy. Now keep this going every period. Even when she gets older. Us girls need chocolate during that time."

A teenager who choked a man to death after meeting him on dating app Plenty of Fish had Googled ways to ‘kill and get away with it’, a court heard.
Jamie Lee Dolheguy, now 20, invited Maulin Rathod, 24, to her address in Victoria, Melbourne, in July 2018 after a brief text exchange.
While the pair were in bed, she then choked him with her hands, before wrapping a USB cable around his neck and strangling him to death, the Supreme Court of Victoria heard.
She then called emergency serves, telling police: ‘I think I’ve killed someone. I didn’t want to, but I did it.’ The court heard she also told officers: ‘It feels so good. I don’t want to be a killer.’
Dolheguy was neglected as a child and had been cared for by the state from the age of 10, the court was told.
She had only been allowed to live on her own for the first time four months before, after her Department of Human Services carers deemed it was safe to do so. Previously, she had two full-time carers from the age of 14, until the age of 18, the court heard.
On the night she saw Mr Rathod, she had contacted a support worker to tell them she had forgotten her medication.
She wrote in one message: ‘I feel really sick with bad temptations’, the court was told. Dolheguy and Mr Rathod had only spoken briefly on Plenty of Fish, in which she said she had ‘extreme fetishes’, including ‘bondage and discipline’ and being ‘gang raped against her will’.
She Googled the phrases: ‘I’m going to kill someone tonight for fun’, and clicked a link entitled: ’10 Steps For Committing A Murder And Get Away With It’. Mr Bourke also alleged that she searched for: ‘I’m going to kill someone tonight help’ and ‘I will kill someone tonight, I want to commit murder.’ When Mr Rathod arrived, Dolheguy was dressed in cosplay and the pair chatted in her bedroom, the court heard.
She later told police she warned Mr Rathod she had ‘psychopathic tendencies’ and ‘wasn’t safe’, but said the pair discussed ‘choke play’ before choosing a signal for if he became uncomfortable. The court heard she told officers she had choked him, before wrapping a cord around his neck so that ‘he wouldn’t wake up’.
Paramedics managed to resuscitate Mr Rathod and he was taken to hospital, but died the following day. Mr Bourke said Dolheguy later told detectives she had ‘intended to kill him’, telling the court: ”It was her desire … she acted on her desire to kill him.’
Sharon Lacy, defending Dolheguy, agreed that her client had killed Mr Rathod but stated that it was unintentional, telling the court she was a ‘very damaged person’.
She said the defendant had told police her mental health had been ‘like a warzone’ and she had hoped her victim would ‘run away and call the police’. Ms Lacy said: ‘Ms Dolheguy was so damaged, and her mind was in such chaos that you couldn’t be satisfied she had murderous intent.’
The son of a former German president has been murdered on stage while delivering a medical lecture in Berlin, police have said.
Fritz von Weizsacker was stabbed to death at a Charlottenburg hospital where he worked as a senior physician after the attacker jumped up from the audience.
An off-duty police officer who tried to intervene was seriously injured, Berlin Police said. Mr von Weizsacker died from injuries at the scene of the Schlosspark hospital attack.
The suspect was apprehended by several people and has been arrested, police said.
“We cannot yet say anything about the attacker’s motive,” said police spokesman Michael Gassen.

Amnesty International on Wednesday categorised three Nigerians as prisoners of conscience, slamming their continued incarceration as politically motivated and demanding their immediate release.
Omoyele Sowore, Olawale Bakare and Agba Jalingo, journalists and rights activists, have been facing charges of treason and money laundering since August. Messrs Sowore and Bakare remained locked up despite a federal court order for their release.
Mr Jalingo, an activist and community newspaper publisher in Nigeria’s southern Cross River State, has been repeatedly handcuffed from prison to court and denied bail on grounds that civic groups said were unjustifiable.
“We consider Sowore, Jalingo and Bakare to be prisoners of conscience detained solely for exercising their human rights,” Seun Bakare, programmes director at Amnesty International Nigeria office, said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
“The Nigerian authorities must drop all charges against them and release them immediately and unconditionally.”

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday signed Executive Order 009 entitled, The Open Defecation-Free Nigeria by 2025 and Other Related Matters Order, 2019.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Chief Femi Adesina.
The Order declares as follows: “That by this Order, Nigeria is committed to being open defecation free by 2025.
“That the National Open Defecation Free (ODF) Roadmap developed by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources with support from other key sector players across Nigeria be put into effect.
“a. There is established in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources a National Secretariat called “Clean Nigeria Campaign Secretariat”.
“b. The Secretariat is authorized on behalf of the President to implement this Order by ensuring that all public places including schools, hotels, fuel stations, places of worship, market places, hospitals and offices have accessible toilets and latrines within their premises.”
All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government are also mandated to cooperate with the Clean Nigeria Campaign Secretariat.
“The National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly shall enact legislation on the practice of open defecation with appropriate sanctions and penalties.
“All development projects shall include construction of sanitation facilities as an integral part of the approval and implementation process.
“The Secretariat shall terminate when Nigeria is declared Open Defecation Free.
“All enforcement authorities are hereby directed to diligently collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in implementing this Order.”
The Executive Order 009 came into being against the background that: “Nigeria is ranked second amongst the nations in the world with the highest number of people practicing open defecation estimated at over 46 million people – a practice which has had a negative effect on the populace, and has contributed to the country’s failure to meet the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs);
President Buhari had described the statistics on open defecation and access to pipe borne water service and sanitation as disturbing, and had declared commitment to implement the National Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Action Plan;
The President had declared a State of Emergency on Nigeria’s water supply, sanitation and hygiene sector, the action being imperative as it will reduce the high prevalence of water-borne diseases in different parts of the country which have caused preventable deaths;
“Nigeria has committed to end open defecation throughout the country by 2025 in consonance with her commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
This Executive Order, according to the statement, takes effect from Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
About 50 million Nigerians suffer some form of mental disorder it was learnt on Wednesday.
Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe, disclosed this in his lead debate on a “Bill for an Act to provide for the establishment and regulation of mental health and substance abuse services, protect persons with mental health needs and establishment of National Commission for mental and substance abuse services, for the effective management of mental health in Nigeria and for other related matters, 2019,” on the floor of the Senate.
The Bill which was read for the second time by the Senate in Abuja was sponsored by Senator Oloriegbe, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.
Oloriegbe noted that “according to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 50 million people (i.e. 1 in every 4 persons) are suffering from some sort of mental illness in Nigeria!”
He added that as the seventh-largest country in the world, Nigeria has Africa’s highest rate of depression, and ranks fifth in the world in the frequency of suicide.
