Actress Bimbo Akinsanya reveals reasons her marriage crashed
The Yoruba movie star, popularly known as “Omo Oloja”stated this in a recent post in her Instagram handle, saying it was not an easy decision. According to her, she left the union because she did not want to die and because she wanted to protect herself too, adding that she did not want to become a murderer.
She wrote;
“I left that marriage when my son was just 3 months old, you think it was easy to make that decision? No. “I left early cos I didn’t want to die, I left early cos I didn’t want to lose my child,
I left early cos I didn’t want to be a murderer. (It’s a story for another day) I was married for a year and 4-months and it was hellish. “Hello,” DO NOT KILL ANOTHER PERSON’S CHILD” all in the name of marriage, I am also a mother and I know how I am striving to train and feed my son. Please, don’t pray or wish for a mother to labour in vain oooo,.. ,” she said.

Man. United sign Odion Ighalo on loan until end of season
The deal to bring the 30-year-old Nigeria international to Old Trafford contains no option to buy.
Ighalo, who is still in China but is expected to fly to the UK in the next few days, scored 39 goals in 99 matches for Watford between 2014 and 2017.
"Odion is an experienced player," said United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
"He will come in and give us an option of a different type of centre-forward for the short spell he's staying with us.
"A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here."
Ighalo moved to the Chinese Super League in 2017, first with Changchun Yatai. After two seasons he moved to Shanghai Shenhua and has scored 10 times in 19 games.

Faces of visa fraudsters apprehended by EFCC (photo)
The defendants are: Ifeyinwa Mbamalu, Christian Akor, Grace Oluseun Akinwunmi, Samuel Chinedu Iwuagwu and Adebola Saheed Adewale. They were accused to have connived to obtain sums of money from their victims in the guise of helping them to obtain Canadian visas.
One of the charges reads: “That you, Christian Akor between October 13th and 18th 2018, in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly converted to your own use, the sum of N300, 000, being part of the sum of N1, 800,000, received by one Ifeyinwa Mbamalu, purportedly to procure a valid Canadian Visa and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 308, of the Penal code Act; and punishable under section 309, of the same Act.”
The defendants persons pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.
Prosecution counsel, Ayodeji Fadahunsi, in view of their no guilty plea, asked the court for date for commencement of trial and for the defendants to be remanded in the custody of Nigerian Correctional Centre.
Justice Banjoko, granted each of them bail in the sum of N10 million (Ten Million Naira) and two sureties in like sum. The sureties, the judge ruled, must have proof of residency in Abuja, and must submit their international passports as well as three years tax clearance.
They were remanded in EFCC custody, pending the fulfillment of the bail conditions and adjourned the matter until March 16, 2020, for commencement of trial.

Trump slams visa ban on Nigeria, five other countries
According to reports from Washington D.C, Trump will sign a proclamation approving the restrictions on Friday afternoon.
The proclamation will curb the ability of citizens of Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan and Tanzania to get certain immigration visas, according to officials with the Department of Homeland Security and State Department, but it is not a blanket travel ban.
The officials cited national security concerns in identifying those countries, saying those governments do not meet requirements for information-sharing and passport security.
The announcement comes just over three years after Trump first announced he would impose a travel ban targeted at several Muslim-majority nations. An altered version of that ban was later upheld by the Supreme Court, and travel from Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, North Korea, Venezuela and Yemen is still restricted.

Police arrest Patience Jonathan’s cousin for attempted murder
The Police in Bayelsa State have arrested Mr. Victor Oba, a cousin to a former first lady, Patience Jonathan, for attempting to kill his ex-lover, Seigha Atia.
Oba, who is the Manager of the first lady’s hotel, Aridolf Hotels and Spars, was said to have hit his 23-year-old ex-lover with his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) damaging her left leg beyond treatment.
Oba, who was apprehended and taken to the Azikoro Police Station, was said to have left the girl for dead and zoomed off after engaging in the violent act.
It was learnt that influential persons were mounting pressure on the police to release Oba and sweep the matter under the carpet through bargaining for settlement, but the police had insisted on ensuring justice for the victim.
Doctors at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yenagoa were having busy schedules battling to save the life of Atia, who was said to be in shock when she was told her leg would be amputated to save her life.
A visit to the hospital revealed that Ati was in critical condition as she screamed intermittently in pains with blood dripping from her swollen leg.
Narrating the incident, the victim said: “On the day of the incident, we had an argument and he called me and asked me to come outside of our gate to get the rest of my things in his car. He said he was driving to our area at Ox-Bow Lake to come and give me my things since I was no longer interested in the relationship.
“He eventually showed up. He came down from his car, reached for the passenger seat, opened the door brought out two bags and handed them over to me. I opened the bag and I figured out my things weren’t complete, and I told him some of my things were not there and that I would come and pick up the rest of my things.
“At this point, he started screaming saying he would not want to see me close to his house. But I insisted I would come to take other things he did not bring to me.
“At this point, he was already in his car. He started raining abuses on me calling me unprintable names. I couldn’t take it. So, I responded. The next thing, he drove his car into me with speed. He hit me against our gate, held me there and did not reverse his car despite the fact that I was screaming in pains.
“He later reversed and I fell to the ground and he zoomed off. My neighbours, who watched what happened screamed for help and came to my rescue.

Nigerian embassy in China still lists Jonathan as president five years out of office
In fact, the embassy website still lists former President Goodluck Jonathan as Nigerian leader after five years he was voted out of office. Also, Aminu Wali still appears as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He occupied that position between 2014 and 2015.
This is despite the fact Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has visited the Asian country twice since he emerged as the president since 2015.
Although the embassy was without an ambassador for more than three years, Buhari in August 2017 appointed Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda, OFR, as the head of the embassy.
Three years after his appointment, Jidda’s name is conspicuously missing. A search of the website did not return any result for him.

Three dead in chieftaincy battle in Kogi
At least three persons have been killed and several houses burnt in the ancient town of Ankpa in Kogi State over a lingering chieftaincy crisis.
The tussle is on determining the rightful village head of Akwu community.
It was learnt that the community has two clans, both laying claim to the position of village head. The crisis deteriorated on Wednesday night to an open for all fight leading to the deaths.
Sources who pleaded anonymity said that the disagreement over the Onu Akwu stool has been on for years and had led to litigation.
“We were sleeping when we heard commotion from the eastern part of the community and when I came out, some houses were already on fire,” said a source.
He noted that 20 houses were razed in the clash which lasted over five hours.
According to him: “We retrieved three bodies and evacuated many injured to health centres and hospitals in Ankpa and environs.”
Among the houses burnt were those of the administrator for Ankpa LGA, Mr. John Aduga, whose kinsman is said to be one of the contenders to the chieftaincy.
The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, William Aya, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, confirmed the incident on Thursday.

Heartbroken parents launch bid to turn stillborn baby's ashes into jewellery
Emily Harper and her partner Máté Szabo were left "totally heart-broken and devastated" when their daughter Beth Rachel Szabo was stillborn at North Devon District Hospital on January 24.
At first they were delighted to learn their of the new arrival, but complications were detected at a 28-week scan.
The couple had found out they were pregnant just after getting engaged at a local beauty spot in Instow and said it was a "really happy surprise".
Emily from Barnstaple, Devon, who works as a housing officer at North Devon Council, said her pregnancy had been "consultant-led" from the start due to her being over the age of 35 and in the high-risk category.
She said: "We'd been progressing through the pregnancy really well and were about to be signed off after our 28-week scan.
"I had a nice big bump, meaning the baby was growing, and we were generally very relaxed about it all."
But weeks later it was discovered that their daughter had ventriculomegaly - or fluid on her brain.
Emily, who also has a seven-year-old son called Abel, said: "We were so shocked, we'd got so far and didn't think there was anything more to worry about.
"We spent the next couple of weeks attending many appointments at hospitals in Bristol and Exeter and having endless tests.
"They discovered I had too much fluid in the womb which can bring on premature birth.
"By this point we knew she'd be seriously unwell if she was born alive and may not have survived without major treatment."
On Friday, January 24, Emily went into labour at just 32 weeks. Sadly Beth was stillborn at 7am.
Emily said: "We're absolutely devastated, it's been horrible.
"We registered her today which has been really tough.
"She will be cremated next week and we are planning to spread her ashes at the spot in Instow where we got engaged, it's so beautiful there."
Emily said one thing that has given her some comfort is donating her breast milk to Southmead Hospital.
She said: "It's really good to know that it will help other premature babies and babies in need.
"We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the support we have received throughout such a difficult time.
"We really appreciate the love, kindness, and help with Abel. We couldn't have got through this dreadful time without it."
Emily and Máté have set up a crowdfunding page in the hope of raising enough money to have some of Beth's ashes turned into special jewellery.
She said: "When it happened, I didn't want to tell anyone about it. I still have a big bump from my pregnancy and everyone who knew I was expecting was asking how it was going.
"Setting up the GoFundMe page was a good way of letting people know what had happened and how they could help if they wanted to.
"We both have relatives overseas and it's a good way of keeping them up to date with any progress too.
"I am planning to get a ring made while Máté wants a simple chain. It's a beautiful keepsake and a way for her memory to be close to us at all times."

Kobe Bryant's darkest days after r.a.p.e claim and how his wife supported him
The birth of their eldest child healed a rift between Kobe, who was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday, and Vanessa and his parents, Joe and Pamela.
They refused to attend their son's wedding to Vanessa, who was just 18 when they tied the knot, over his refusal to sign a pre-nup.
Joe and Pamela also feared their son, who himself was just 22, and his bride were too young to marry.
But that all changed when their grand-daughter arrived.
It was a happy time for the Bryant family but then their world fell apart when Kobe was accused of rape just a few months after the birth of his daughter.
The basketball star was booked in for knee surgery and had checked into a spa on June 30 a couple of days before his op.
He was staying in The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera in Eagle County in Colarado, the US, when he met his alleged 19-year-old victim.
She worked at the hotel and when she showed Kobe to his room, he says he asked her to return later that night to give him a "private tour".
The woman did return and she told police that they started kissing before she alleged that she had been raped.
When he was first arrested, Kobe insisted he had not had sex with the woman.
But when he was told the alleged victim had undergone a physical examination, he admitted they had had sex - but insisted it was consensual.
His accuser had bruises on her neck and Kobe admitted he had 'strangled' her and that this was his "thing", although he stressed he had never done this to his wife, Vanessa.
There was also blood on the accuser's underwear and on Kobe's shirt and he confessed he hadn't specifically asked her for consent.
Instead, Kobe told police he assumed it was consensual because they had been kissing and she had touched him intimately.
Two days after he was first questioned about the alleged r.a.p.e, Kobe flew back to Colarado from Los Angeles, where he was arrested.
Despite he husband's open admission of adultery and the r.a.p.e accusation he was facing, Vanessa was by his side at a press conference when his arrest became public knowledge.
She had famously shied away from the limelight, even waiting in the tunnel to kiss her husband congratulations after every basketball game so she could stay out of the glare of photographers.
But the Bryant's put on a united front - even after the swift and brutal fall-out of the claims.
While he was able to continue playing for the LA Lakers, the sportsman lost lucrative endorsement deals with McDonald's and Nutella.
Kobe heaped praise on his wife in an emotionally charged press conference and apologised for cheating on her.
He said: "I sit here in front of you guys, furious at myself, disgusted at myself for making a mistake of adultery.
"I love my wife with all my heart, she's my backbone."
Vanessa held onto her husband's hands tightly throughout the press conference.
At one point, her husband turned to her and said: "You're a blessing, you're the beat to my heart, you're the air that I breathe and you're the strongest person I know.
"I'm so sorry for having to put you through this and to put our family through this.
"I'm a human being, I'm a man just like everybody else.
"I mourn, I cry, just like everybody else and I sit here before you guys embarrassed and ashamed for committing adultery."
Kobe also issued a public statement, apologising to his wife for adultery.
Despite several preliminary hearings, the case never reached trial.
The alleged victim refused to testify. She had received a barrage of abuse after her name was leaked and even her parents' home was surrounded by film crews.
After the case was dismissed, Kobe issued another statement where he apologised to the alleged victim.
He said: "First, I want to apologise directly to the young woman involved in this incident.
"I want to apologise to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year.
"Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure.
"I also want to apologise to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colorado.
"I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman.
"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognise now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did.
"After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."
It was not the end of the matter and the woman filed a civil case against Bryant in 2004, which was settled in private the following year.
It seemed family life had returned to normal for Kobe and Vanessa, who welcomed their second daughter, Gianna, who was killed along with her father in Sunday's helicopter crash.
But then their fans were rocked in 2011 when it was revealed Vanessa had filed for divorce, citing irreconcible differences.
However, just months after their shock split, the couple seemed to be healig their differences.
In an interview at the time Vanessa said: "We're working on things."
By 2013, Vanessa and Kobe had called off their divorce and went on to have two more daughters, Bianka, and Capri Kobe, who was born just seven months ago.
And she has always remained fiercely private, but making sure she was always their for her husband and her girls.
Early in their marriage, Vanessa, who met Kobe when she was just 17, conquered her fear of flying so she could be at his side when he travelled back to his high school for his jersey retirement ceremony.
She has also shunned the trappings of wealth and doesn't have a nanny ot help her raise their children.
Vanessa said: "I think people imagine that I sit at home with all the time in the world to do my hair and make-up but that's certainly not the case.
"I'm up at 6:30 in the morning with my kids. I'm taking them wherever they need to go."
The mum-of-four also made sure she never missed a sports game or practice of any of her daughters.
And on his retirement, Kobe was excited about what the future would hold for he and Vanessa and their growing family.
In a poignant Instagram post he wrote: "I’m so excited to see what God has in store for us as a family now that one chapter is closing and new ones are opening."
Kobe and Gianna were killed along with seven others in Sunday's tragedy.

Taylor Swift reportedly decided to give the Grammys a miss after they couldn't guarantee she had won.
The 30-year-old singer was nominated in a number of categories, including the coveted Song of the Year, but wanted to know she had landed a gong before deciding whether she would attend.
Page Six has reported that Swift's team were told that the winners are not known to those planning the event and that the rules would not be bent so that Taylor was given a 'heads up'.
With this not being given, Taylor decided to not attend and, as it turned out, teenage singing sensation Billie Eilish swept the board.
A show insider told Page Six: "[Her team] called and wanted to be assured that she would win the Grammy.
"And while it wasn’t an explicit demand, they certainly were fishing to find out if Taylor was a winner.
"It was understood in the conversation that if she’s not winning, she’s not coming to the Grammys."
Page Six reported that this was backed up by another source who said: "It’s widely known in the industry that [Swift’s team] called to find out if she was getting a Grammy, they wouldn’t tell her, so she didn’t go.
"It’s not uncommon [for an artist] to want to know. And everyone knows Taylor loves to win, win, win."
A spokesperson for Taylor has refuted the claims though, saying: "These statements by anonymous, unidentified ‘sources’ are absolutely 100 percent false and laughable.
"She just didn’t go to the Grammys."
Despite Taylor not looking to attend the show, Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich still held a spot for her to perform, in case she changed her mind.

Man accused of killing missing wife 'dies in hospital two days after suicide attempt'
Fotis Dulos' lawyer Norm Pattis said his client died just after 5.30pm at Jacobi Medical Center on Thursday in the Bronx, New York.
The 52-year-old had apparently tried to take his own life inside his garage while awaiting trial for the murder of Jennifer Dulos who vanished after dropping her children at school.
According to the Mail Online, Mr Pattis said: "Mr Dulos was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. Now he has been executed."
The real estate businessman was found in his car inside the garage of his mansion in Farmington, Connecticut, on Tuesday afternoon, having suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.
Dulos was airlifted to UConn Heath in critical condition, having received treatment from the police officers at the scene and was then airlifted to the specialist centre for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber.
It was feared due the reported severity of his poisoning he would not be able to stand trial due to likely brain damage - if he ever woke up at all.
His sister Rena Dulos and her daughter Angelika flew over from the family's native Greece after news the accused had been taken to hospital.
Jennifer filed for divorce from her husband in 2017 and whisked her children away that night, prompting Mr Dulos to call 911 and say he did not know where his children were.
In a motion seeking custody of their children last year, now ages 8 to 13, Jennifer wrote: “I know that filing for divorce, and filing this motion will enrage [Fotis].
"I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way . . . During the course of our marriage, he told me about sickening revenge fantasies and plans to cause physical harm to others who have wronged him.”

Osun robbery: Three sentenced to death by hanging
The trio was arrested in connection with the armed robbery attack on First Bank, Union Bank, and Skye Bank, situated along the same street in Ikirun, Osun State, simultaneously, on 12th February 2016, at about 3:30 pm.
The convicts were on 29th June 2017 arraigned on a ten count charge of conspiracy, armed robbery, murder, illegal possession of firearms and others contrary to Section 6(b), 1(1) & (2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap R11 L.F.N, 2004, Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law Cap. 34 Laws of Osun State, 2002, and Section 3 of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap R11 L.F.N, 2004, respectively.
The prosecution Counsel from the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Biodun Badiora, in proof of the charge called five (5) witnesses and tendered about 30 Exhibits.
Badiora said, “The combined team of Policemen from Iragbiji Police Division, Ikirun Police Patrol Team and Special Anti-robbery Squad, responded to distress call(s) from the scene. On getting to the scene, a gun duel ensued between the armed robbers and the Policemen, and the armed gang was dislodged making them run away in different directions.
“Seven members of the armed gang were killed by the Police at the scene of the crime while some others escaped with gunshots injuries.”
“Aderibigbe Seun was arrested inside Akinorun Grammar School, Ndubisi David back of one of the banks and Nuhu Jimoh was maimed by gunshot at the scene of the crime.
“Almost thirty-two (32) people lost their lives to the incident but only four Corps were deposited at the mortuary; two bank officials and two Policemen on Bank guard duty.

Justice Jide Falola said that “prosecution Counsel has proved his case beyond the reasonable doubt hereby found them guilty on charge preferred against them.”
Counsels to the convicts, Barrister Sunday Atofarati and Ajibade Omoyajowo pleaded with the Judge to temper justice with mercy.
In his judgment, Justice Falola Sentenced them to death by hanging, and forfeited gun recovered from gang to the Nigeria Police also forfeited money recovered to the Osun State Government.

Joe Biden, 77, admits he needs a Vice President who can 'take over immediately' if he dies in office
'I can think of at least eight women, at least four or five people of color, that I think are totally qualified to be vice president of the United States,' the former vice president said during a campaign event in Clinton, Iowa.
'But for me, it has to be demonstrated that whoever I pick is two things: One, is capable of being president because I'm an old guy,' the 77-year-old Biden said.
'No, I'm serious. Look, I thank God I'm in great health. I work out. No, I'm serious. You know, I work out every morning. I'm in good shape — knock on wood, as my mother would say,' Biden said during a question and answer session as reported by the Washington Examiner.
'I released all my medical records,' Biden added. 'But you never know. You never know what's going on. And I'm sure what would happen is I have — some people looking would say, 'Is the person Biden picked capable of, God forbid something happened to Biden, that they would be able to take over immediately?'
