Man who paid assailants N500k to kill Ogun land owner on Christmas Day is arrested

A man, Idowu Shorunke, has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command alongside two assailants he contracted to kill a 55-year-old land owner, Razaq Shotunde.

The assailants reportedly killed Shotunde on Christmas Day by smashing his head on the way to his  Solomo village in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement.

Oyeyemi said the assailants, Daniel Ikwe and  Micheal Tedungbe, were arrested following a distress call to policemen at Owode-Egba division.

He said the Police were told that the landowner was found dead along the road leading to Baseye village, with his head smashed with a heavy object.

He said, “Upon the distress call, the DPO Owode-Egba division, CSP Mathew Ediae, mobilized detectives to the scene from where they started a thorough investigation.

“Their efforts yielded positive results when one of the suspects was arrested with the help of people in the community.

“The suspect led the police to his accomplice who was also apprehended.

“The two suspects informed the police that it was Idowu Shorunke who contracted them to eliminate the deceased.

“Their confession led the police to his house where he was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, the duo of Daniel Ikwe and Micheal Tedungbe confessed that they killed the man on the order of Shorunke who promised them N500,000.”

The PPRO said  Shorunke admitted being the one who contracted the men to kill the land owner because of an issue over a portion of land.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Edward  Ajogun, had ordered further investigation and prosecution.

What scandal? 9ice and family jet to Dubai for holiday

What cheating scandal? Sunkanmi packed to where? Lol.

That 9ice cheated on his wife and was openly caught didn't make his wife move an inch like many thought she did. Some even claimed she had left him for good.

But you know what, mama never moved an inch. She loves her man.

So 9ice and his wife, Olasunkanmi Ajala Abolore and their daughter have left the shores of the country for Dubai to enjoy the holidays.

His wife shared the family photos showing she and her husband and daughter having a good time in Dubai. Sharing the photo, she captioned it;

‘Progress not perfection’ [we guess she said that just to shut people up, so she wont be condemned for accepting him back. Yes, people are that silly]

9ice took to the comment section replying.

”Human, not God”

Dancing nurse who cheered patients with her moves in the US has Covid-19

A woman who earned the nickname the “Dancing Nurse” for cheering her Covid-19 patients with her moves while volunteering across the US has contracted the virus.

Registered nurse Ana Wilkinson, who had been treating coronavirus-stricken patients in New York and most recently in Texas, wrote on Instagram that she’s been fighting the virus and urged the public to wear masks.

“I wanted to share that healthcare workers get SICK. We take care of the public, and yes, we get sick. We are human. But if we get sick, who is going to take care of your families?” Wilkinson wrote.

“As more and more healthcare get ill or even die, we feel frustrated, tired, and discouraged. All we ask is for you to wear your mask.”⠀⠀

Wilkinson, who is based in San Diego, California, tested negative on Dec. 13 and went back to work at UC San Diego Medical Center that same Monday.

She got tested again and vaccinated on Dec. 16. She learned a few days later that her Covid results came back positive.

Wilkinson says she doesn’t know how she contracted the virus. She noted that her firefighter husband was possibly exposed at work but that he tested negative.

The nurse told KGTV she will always remember the patients she’s lost and warned that the virus preys on whomever.

“My 23-year-olds, my 25, I say mine because I felt like they were my kids that I tried everything I could to save them. And to a lady who was 32-years-old who died from COVID,” she told the outlet. “That’s what I try to tell people, COVID does not discriminate, age, race, color, anything. It just picks you.”

Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr's relationship has taken another rocky turn. The 41-year-old NBA star took to Instagram on Wednesday and claimed that his ex-fiancée has taken his social media platforms "hostage."

Last month, the two celebrated their 1-year engagement anniversary despite 33-year-old Parr sharing that she ended her engagement to Odom just one week prior. But the two now appear to no longer be on good terms.

"What’s up good people. I've been working hard to build my brand and a new team. 💪🏾🙏🏾," Odom shared on Instagram.

"Unfortunately my social media platforms are being held hostage by my ex and we are working hard to recover my passwords for IG and Twitter~ if any of y'all know someone who can get it reset for me hit my brand managers DM ASAP @savvygirlconsulting. ... If you got an iphone im on club house so drop in, Im starting a room about Mental Health, Toxic and Abusive Relationships and Self Love."

"Thank y'all for loving me and supporting me I love y'all back. ❤️," he continued. "Now watch me work 💪🏾."

In a follow-up post, Odom claimed Parr has hacked his social media every few months and also won't give him back his passport.

"No love lost BabyDoll but it’s over," he wrote. "All I ask is that you release my Passport and my Passwords. That's it. You've wronged me in so many ways and I was willing to walk away quietly but I see you want a show."

"I gave you a global platform," he continued. "Use it for your good or it will destroy you. All the best ❤️."

In a now deleted post on her Instagram Stories, Parr called the accusations "extremely disappointing."

"We are no longer together and haven't been for a while," she wrote, via Page Six. "I’ve [chosen] to move in silence about the situation & I suggest you do the same. We both know the truth and I can assure you no truth is being told on their end. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to continue moving on in peace & silence."

The outlet also reported that she posted then deleted screenshots of alleged emails with Odom’s team showing conversations about attempting to reset his access to his social media accounts.

Later, Odom shared a screenshot on his own Instagram Stories of what appears to be him attempting to get control of one of his social media accounts but the information getting sent to an email and phone number that he claimed was Parr's.

"Where is the lie?" he wrote. "That is my exes phone number and her business email."

Last month, both Odom and Parr shared a picture of him kissing her on the cheek on their Instagram Stories, appearing to get back together after ending their engagement.

FG to suspend passports of 100 passengers refusing post arrival Covid-19-19 test

Effective from January 1st, 2021, passports of the first one hundred passengers that have failed to take their post-arrival COVID-19 test will be published in the national dailies and suspended till June 2021.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha made the announcement in Abuja on Tuesday during a briefing.

Mustapha, also, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said that the names of the passengers would be published on Jan. 1, 2021, while the suspension of the passports would last for six months.

He also revealed that there are some additional quarantine protocols to be observed by travelers arriving from the UK and South Africa.

The new protocols according to the task force who already predict that January 2021 will be a tough month, is to minimize the possibility of virus importation into the country.

The SGF lamented the difficulties experienced in the national response, noting that the nation’s response is passing through a challenging phase due to the seriousness of the second wave of infections in Nigeria.

“Week 52 has so far given us the highest number of infections in a single week to date. Our analysis shows that 16 out of every 100 tests carried out are positive.

“We are also seeing increasing transmission among younger people and this is not considered good and safe. We must, therefore, exercise utmost restraint by taking responsibility,” he said.

Mustapha said that the PTF had discussed two critical issues, Oxygen supply, and Case Management, and during the conversation with health authorities, CMDs of Federal Tertiary Institutions in Abuja, National Hospital; Jabi & Gwagwalada, the PTF directed that the level of Infections, Prevention and Control, as well as case management, should be prioritized immediately.

“With the increasing number of infections and hospitalization, our objectives are to ensure that infection, prevention, and control (IPC) is properly instituted to minimize spread and exposure of health care workers to the virus;

“Ensure that those who require hospitalization are well managed; those requiring medical attention for other ailments gain access to Treatment at medical facilities; and critical care is available and deployed, especially where oxygen is needed.

“The situation in Abuja and its environs has been of concern to the PTF,” the SGF stated.

Actress Ini Dima-Okojie revealed she was diagnosed with fibroid in 2017 [Video]

Nollywood actress, Ini Dima-Okojie, has revealed that she was diagnosed with fibroid in 2017. The diva shared her story with her fans on her Instagram account.

She allayed the fears of her friends and fans as she noted that she is currently recovering from surgery.

In a video that chronicled her battle with the ailment, she took to the caption section to state, “My journey with fibroid. Hey Guys, I know it’s been a minute! I want to share something quite personal with you but I think it’s important because this is something that apparently affects about 6-8 in every 10 black women but no one talks about it.”

In the post, she noted that she was scared when the doctors told her she had fibroid. “I found out I had fibroids in 2017, I remember freaking out so much. The first gynaecologist I saw said if it wasn’t really bordering me he would advise I leave it alone but that I had better go and quickly get married.

She continued, “Anyways, fast forward to March 2020, the bulge on my lower belly had gotten bigger and my new gynaecologist advised I take out the fibroids.”

Ini Dima-Okojie said that at the point she was meant to have the surgery, the COVID-19 pandemic had become a serious issue worldwide so her operation was delayed. “Then Covid happened and we had to put the surgery on hold. In the meantime, I tried other things like herbs, clean diet, exercise.

“Now fast forward to November, the bulge in my tummy had now increased significantly so I decided to go do another pelvic scan and was told I had to get an MRI because the fibroids were now bigger than what the ultrasound machine could adequately measure. Bottom line I had to have the surgery as soon as possible. I had the surgery, it was successful and I’m now healing slowly but surely. I just want to thank God Almighty for showing up and showing out for me!”

The North East star seized the opportunity to thank everyone that stood by her during her plight.

“I want to thank my family and friends especially my mum and my Aunty Biola who moved into the hospital and never left my side. I want to thank Dr Esue and all the doctors and nurses at Cedarcrest hospital for taking such good care of me. And finally, I want to thank you guys who have been sending me messages, wondering if I’m okay and praying for me anyway,” she said.

She also shared a word of encouragement with women who are still battling fibroid.

“To the women out there dealing with fibroids. I know what a lonely road it can be not to talk of the pain and discomfort and then there are the ignorant ‘congrats on your pregnancy’ comments to deal with. It’s okay they don’t know any better. I want you to know that my DMs are opened to you. If you want to ask questions, talk or even just rant. I’ll respond once I get stronger.

“I know 2020 has been a tough year. But we are tougher!!! We’re still here, we survived!!! That alone is a huge feat. Let’s remember to be kind to ourselves and others. I pray 2021 is better for us all! Lots of Love Ini,” she said.
